I don't give 5 star reviews lightly and this is the first winery I've given one to, so believe me when I say that Serial is an absolute GO! It can be hard to judge wine objectively. Over the years my tastes have changed quite a bit and wines that I loved 5 years ago don't seem as good as they once did. And with Paso (and California) having so many options it can be a bit overwhelming. However, I can safely say that Serial wines are the best wines I've had by a sizable margin. The tastings are on the expensive side (~$45) but it's not unheard of in the area and in my opinion it's certainly worth the wines alone. We've never actually paid the tasting fee because we always get a few bottles to take home! Service: Fantastic! I've been twice now with each experience being wonderful. The staff are knowledgeable, personable and have great recommendations tailored to individual tastes. If they get a sense you like a certain flavor profile they will happily go off script to bring you a wine you'll more thoroughly enjoy. Wine: This is where Serial really shines. In a word "superlative" (Office reference), but seriously these wines are beyond good. I don't know what the winemaker(s) are doing to get these kind of results that are so much better than their peers but I'm glad for it. Red blends are my jam and they take them to an entirely new level! Complex/interesting flavors and aromas, silky smooth and perfectly balanced wines which make you savor and think about each sip. For all you purists out there, they also have fantastic single varietals, obviously leaning towards the big bold reds Paso is known for. Ambiance: Another big win here. I've only been to the downtown tasting room but it is beautifully appointed and also comfortable. They definitely lean more towards the classy chic style in their decor, with a hint of the dark and sinister. A great place to drink amazing wine! read more

I think we are paying for the atmosphere more than the wines. It was kind of expensive to do wine tasting here. The tasting menu was: $30 for 5 wines and $45 for 6 wines 1-2 whites/rose and the rest are reds. They also have charcuterie/cheese, baguette, muffuletta sanwich. We decided to just order a glass of wine each. It's a cute place to chill. Service was good. read more

A great spot downtown. My wife and I like stopping in here before an evening at Libretto. Staff is welcoming, friendly and attentive without being intrusive, and provide lots of information on the various wines. My favorite wine is the Adelaida District Zin. Bold and jammy, but not over the top. Just enough to make the palate dance. The tasting room is beautiful and the chairs or couches let you sink in and just decompress. Prices are reasonable and won't break the bank which is nice. Truly a spot worth visiting more than once. read more

If you enjoy stunning interior design and good wines, you're in the right place. Design and builder Richard Von Saal,, from Napa, CA has done an amazing job of transforming a typical retail space into a work of art. With a feeling of intimacy yet openness, the space has striking artwork on the walls, eye catching light fixtures, and Firmwood captured from the 2019 Napa fire, highlighted with strikes handmade by a chainsaw to show the woods accents. (See the picture of the bar). Now to the wines. Serial has several widely distributed wines which is how I found out about them. The servers where super friendly and knowledgeable, making for an enjoyable visit, (Thank you!) The Malbec and Tempranillo were my favorites. Finding a tasting room where you feel like you're not in Paso is hard to find now a days lol. As a local I appreciate so much when I feel like I step out of Paso and experience something new, especially when I'm a 10 min walk home! Joseph is beyond words. He is what made the experience just absolutely amazing! We were the only ones there for a little bit. Never felt like a bother. Really educated us on everything. Very nice, new and pretty tasting room in a great location. Lots of space and various seating from couches to low tops to high tops. I saw two gender neutral restrooms and the one I used was very clean. Staff was friendly and pretty efficient. The whole place opened in 2021 and was very trendy and cool. I had seen it the night before am glad we checked it out the next day when it was open. We tried the Grenache blanc and Malbec. Both were lovely and didn't disappoint. The Grenache blanc was crisper than expected which was pleasant. They serve baguette with butter and salt, and a charcuterie board to go with tastings, glasses and carafes. I believe it's a $10 fee to open a bottle unless you're a member. I'm not sure what weekends are like but on a weekday afternoon it was fairly quiet. One large group, a few small groups and us three were there so it was very relaxed. We ordered a bottle or Grenache blanc for home so you can tell we enjoyed it. :) read more

The first thing you'll notice is the music is slightly louder once you walk inside the baño, offering a comfortable sound buffer for your business. Me and my two friends walked into Serial yesterday 4/6 for a wine tasting. Joseph was our wine server and he was absolutely fantastic. He was personable, kind, and so fun! We learned a ton about Serial's wines. Joseph was hands down the best at any wine tasting we have ever had. The wines are amazing as well. Late Review: Bought a bottle of their cab from a local grocery store in Paso in Early 2021 and opened it when I got home a few days later. Instant regret not because of the wine but because I didn't buy more! We finally made another trip in Dec of 2022 back to paso and decided to stop by. The tasting room is amazing just pure beauty, and the the staff is at another level. We ended up stopping by 3 nights in a row, we met I believe almost everyone that works there and let me tell you they were all rock stars and it didn't matter who was helping you the service level never changed. On day 4 right before leaving back to reality we stopped by to pick up some more bottles at this point I believe we were already close to a dozen bottles if not more purchased and with our hands tied (not really) we decided to join their wine club. Joseph sealed the deal and we're happy customers. That 2018 Cabernet is off the charts. We will be back in mid Feb to revisit all the famous wines. See y'all soon.. read more

Just went to Serial Wines in Paso Robles. Possibly the worst wine I've ever tasted. I've had 2 buck chuck that tasted better. Undeveloped flavors, highly acidic, and poorly aged alcohol. These guys need about 10-15 years to improve their game. read more
