After many years of driving by we finally went to check this place out for lunch. Much bigger on the inside than it looks on the outside. Staff was friendly and helpful. I had a bbq hot dog which was very good. The buns are toasted and fries very tasty. Gouda Mac n cheese tasted really good too. Kids all enjoy their food. The ambiance inside Serious Dogs is nice when you first get in, classic pub feel with two separate areas to sit in, believe there was also a pool table or two to play at. Parking is in the back of the building and very cramped but most should be able to make it work, just be careful going in and out of the place. As far as the food goes, I got a smash burger and a friend of mine got a wrap. I asked for lettuce and mayo on my burger and ended up with lettuce and tomato. I picked off the tomato so no big deal but did get charged for something I didn't ask for...oh well, it was like 50 cents I guess. Also want to say, I've never had a smash patty but this was a normal burger, no doubt about that. As for my friend's wrap, he asked for no tomato and still got it and their solution was to take it to the back and have the cooks pick it out...we would've told them to remake it if it hadn't already taken almost 40 minutes or more to get our food after ordering. This gets me into the service...our waitress tried her best I guess and took some money off our bill but to be honest, we spent almost two hours in there just to wait for food and a bill. Their explanation is that they were backed up with delivery orders. After they got that cleared up and brought out our mediocre food, not how we asked for it, people around us were getting their food after ordering only 10-15 minutes beforehand. Horrible experience here, I'm sure the hot dogs were probably good so maybe stick to that and nothing else, also maybe go when it's dead, if it ever is...always seems busy at least, don't know if they're regulars or got tricked into going like we did when we saw this restaurant pop up as one of the most popular in Battle Creek on Google. Such a let down and a waste of our time and money, favorite part was finally getting to leave almost two hours later haha read more

We have been to Serious Dogs several times. All of our previous experiences were great. Yesterday's was horrid! First of all, when we pulled in, my husband had to go in and ask the worker to have the service worker that was fixing something to move his work truck out of the handicapped parking spot. Now, the fact that a contactor illegally parked was not Serious Dogs' fault, but the lady who worked there went back into the back room. We sat there for at least 5 minutes yelling hello? My husband coming in and talking with the lady working there should have given her an idea that she had customers. I even called thinking they would come out front to answer the phone. Nope. Finally, after waiting for service for 5 to 10 minutes, we got up and started to leave. Another customer told us there was a bell we were supposed to push to get service. We didn't see any sign letting us know this; and in all our previous visits, there was always someone at the counter! So we were sadly disappointed and left with no tots or wings. read more

Look, I have NEVER had a hot dog on Texas toast. This sounds like some Texas State Fair type of stuff. First off, this is a small restaurant. I can only Im again what it would be like during the dinner rush or the weekend. But, the service was amazing and prompt. There is a plethora of various portion. One bite into the BBQ Bacon dog, and just like that, I was hooked. I actually stopped midway, and ordered a freaking bacon Gouda Mac to go. Okay, so I have been wanting to try this place since it opened because it is close to where I live and work, and I'm always down for a good hot dog. However, what has always made me hesitate was simply the concept of paying $7 for a hot dog (it comes with a pickle and chips, says the menu, but still...) Today, I tossed my frugality out the window and decided to give Serious Dogs a shot. I went with a Coney Style dog and some onion rings with a bottled soda. (Total came to just under $12!) Service was super friendly, food came out quickly, and the ambiance of the place was great. For the food, my favorite part was the bun. (Is it bad that my favorite part of a hot dog dish was the bun?) It's a New England style split bun that they've clearly cooked on the flat top with some butter or grease. The dog was fine - good size and better flavor than a grocery store dog. It wasn't overly hot, and the shredded cheese on my dog wasn't really close to melting, which made for a messy, awkward meal where most of the cheese fell off onto my tray as I tipped the dog. The rings were pretty good, and served with ranch (which is a good thing). They have a Serious Dog club where, if you eat every dog on the menu at least once, you get a shirt and your picture on the wall - which is kinda a fun little challenge. I'm intrigued by the different flavors of hot dog they have listed on the menu, and it's tempting to come back 15 more times for the "free" t-shirt. (Really would be a $116 shirt after buying all those $7 hot dogs!) In the end, the food WAS tasty, the service was great, but I'm still stuck with part of me bemoaning the fact that I just spent $12 for a hot dog meal! I'm sure I will be back, but probably not as often as I would if the dogs were cheaper. read more

1st visit was ok. Cheese curds were the bomb. Homemade chips were top notch. Hot dog was flavorful. Both wife and I got the Coney dogs and both had same reaction. Was definitely not "coney" sauce as we've ever had. Wasn't terrible but wasn't great and the New England style bun was different. We tried Serious Dogs on the recommendation of a friend and are glad we did. The menu choices ranged from more traditional style dogs to some fun and creative ones.
