I was in the market for an EV and I read great things about the EV6 so I made an appointment to check out the car and do a test drive. After I got to the dealership, it was all downhill from there. The sales agent I booked my appointment with was helping another customer and was not available when I arrived. I figured no big deal, someone else could help me. Another agent fetched the car and we all got in to do the test drive. 2 minutes in, he tells me I cannot go on the freeway. What a joke. If I'm going to spend $40k+ on a new car, I better damn well get to evaluate how it performs on the freeway. I tell the manager about what happened and what a huge waste of time it was for me to go to the dealership. He offers to make me another appointment with a different agent to do a test drive. The 2nd test drive goes well. I love the car. The EV6 looks great inside and out and the performance is phenomenal. I was ready to buy for a fair price. When it came to pricing, things fall short again. I want to mention that the EV6 does not qualify for the federal tax rebate. After many back & forth emails, the best price they were offering was MSRP + $5000 in BS add-ons + $1500 dealer markup. What a joke. It's obvious that this dealership is not used to selling to the clientele that is interested in EVs and they don't really care. If you're in the market for one, do yourself a favor and look elsewhere. read more

My family and I recently decided it was time for a new car, and we chose the Kia Sorento. The hybrid, AWD model is hard to find due to high demand, but we eventually found one at Serramonte Kia! Everyone we worked with there from our first phone call was extremely helpful and pleasant, and we always felt like they had our best interests at heart (which can be hard to find when buying a car). When it came time to purchase and pick up the car we had reserved, we worked with Melissa Lopez, who was fantastic. Wow! Amazing experience here! I have been searching for an EV6 and I happen to call Kia Serramonte to see what they had on their lot or what they might be getting soon. I spoke to Jim and they said they have one available that a previous buyer backed out of. I wasn't quite ready to make my way over there just yet, so Jim gave me his cell, had me text him before driving there to confirm that the car was still available. Zero stars!! This is the second time I have come to this Serramonte Kia with an appointment scheduled to test drive one of their vehicles the EV6 or the Nero. Both times I arrived on time and they asked why I had come, what was I there for. Prior to the appointment i had lengthy seven exchange emails about what I wanted and was interested in, what my trade in was ect. Their excuse "oh that's our bot for after hours". I doubt it.. They are stacking their selling options as when i walked in they said "Oh are you here for the red EV6, (which is parked outside)." I said well I came to test drive, then there was confusion. The manager Esmeralda who is one of the names signed on the emails arrives and says ... oh we have none. Of course they do ... the first person thought I was there to pick up the red one parked outside. This is badly run business. Save yourself wasted time... buy elsewhere. The arbitrary current climate markup is 6,000 on MsRP prior to taxes and the customer service is non existent. read more

This review is for the service department. I had to go in for a service recall on my Kia EV6 which needed a software update. I dropped in at 7:30AM and left by 8:30AM. Quick and painless. Receipt showed all the services done (basically a couple of software updates installed to address the NHTSA recall and other issues). No hidden or funny chargers. No upselling anything. The supply of Kia Telluride vehicles is extremely limited right now, and I tried working with several dealerships to get one; in each case, I found that the salespeople really didn't put in any effort. If I was contacted at all, it was usually for vehicles that were nowhere near the spec that I was asking for. So when Serramonte Kia opened, I figured I would give it one last try. I'm THRILLED that I did! My salesperson, Angelo, and the sales manager, Jim, really went above and beyond the call in helping me find the right vehicle and get it rerouted to their dealership. There were multiple delays outside their control, but they kept me up to date every step of the way. And they took great care of me through the process of turning in my previous lease (which was not a Kia!) and leasing my new Telluride. THIS DEALERSHIP DOES NOT HONOR THEIR WORD! Their sales rep contacted me via text about an EV6. I asked the sales rep specifically if there was a dealership markup and the price of the vehicle. She said it was $48k. I told her I wasn't interested. She then asked me what my range was. I said $45k. She said she spoke with a manager and said she could get me in that range, but I had to buy the car that day. I drove an hour plus tolls to see the car. When it was time to discuss numbers, I reiterated the number. She said the managers didn't have an issue with it. When the manger finally came to talk to me, not only did he not honor what their sales rep said, he told me there was a markup on top of the $48k. They wasted three hours of my time and money. They could have just accepted my rejection to their initial price. Instead they said whatever it took to get me in the door. What a scummy thing to do. read more

I needed to address my software recall for my kia rio. Service department is shared with Volkswagen and they allow you to make your appointment online which is perfect. They opened on time and were able to take me earlier. Alfredo was very friendly and explained all of the options. I decided to do my 50k maintenance at the same time. He gave me an accurate time assessment and I got my car 30 minutes early. Car came back washed and well cleaned. They let me know of items eventually needing fixing, but never pushed them on me. And while it took two months before it finally arrived, she was very nice and kept us updated throughout the waiting period. When we came in to test drive the car, it was a very easy and comfortable process all the way to us finally getting the keys to drive home. We were helped by Dylan and he was able to get the best deal for us. Adrian in the Finance department also helped get us more value for our purchase. But Dylan was especially great as he stayed with us through the entire process. Of course when buying a new car, it can easily become stressful. Well, I bought my Kia Niro last summer and it was time for a maintenance. Glad I did not pay for the package. The service of the vehicle once its done is fine, but the lead up was subpar to say the least. You cannot, even with your account, schedule an appointment online. When you try the message is a representative will get back to you within one day. Did that three times and never got a call back. Finally got through by calling and talking live. Still the representative had no idea on price and time window to get fixed. All I got was a time to show up. To be fair, Kia's own maintenance repair building is under construction as the dealership there is the newest in the Bay Area. They are sharing a repair shop with Volkswagen across the street. Still when you get there, it is cramped and a bit grimy. The counter rep was great though, professional and courteous, and my car was delivered on time. Bottom line is that when I had my Mazda and took it to the dealer for repairs (Royal Motors) the service and online process was supreme. Guess I was spoiled there with all the treatment, including ride share voucher or even a loaner car. Kia's service department pails in comparison. read more

Lady I talked to says she will call me back in 5 minutes to confirm it has leather seats.. never calls back.. Drove all the way out there. No mention of markup..no markup anywhere on the car by the sticker...Then I was looking inside the car and they placed it in the front window away from the sticker Pricing makes 0 sense. To my surprise a new Kia dealership was opened almost where the former Kia dealership was so I called inquiring about a new Kia Sportage. My original had about 172K miles on it and I loved the way the redesigned model looked so I knew I wanted to test how it drove and to see if they had the trim that I had been dreaming of. I had called and the person I spoke with had stated that this dealership was going to get a shipment in the week of May 23rd. I called the morning of May 24th and inquired with Yuri who immediately said we have a few of them not many - if you are very interested can you come and see what we have? Due to supply chain issues and cars being hard to come by I immediately said yes I can be there at 4:15 pm. He said great and when I showed up he told me that he did have one however it was on hold (most new cars are these days). He did have another Sportage that was just off the truck and if I wanted to see that one I could if I would wait for the car to pass the inspection tests etc. I knew based on how limited the supply was that good things come to those who wait so I did. Once the car was pulled out of the garage and I sat inside it was love at first sight! The car had everything I wanted and more, and I knew this was my next car for sure! Simply knowing I found the car was exciting enough because I had called 4 dealerships in Northern CA and 2 others in Southern CA and none of them had this model. Instantly I felt lucky. Yuri made me feel comfortable and his knowledge regarding the purchasing of the vehicle was transparent and kind. I felt he was my ally when negotiations began and within 35 min we had a deal and I was given a generous trade in price for my car with a little back and forth! :) Yuri took me to the finance teams offices and then prepared my car for me I was still in shock this was, well so seamless and easy. By 8:55 pm I was the owner of a very beautiful 2023 Kia Sportage. Highly recommend Kia's (they are amazing cars) and Yuri if you are in the market for a new vehicle. I had an appointment a few months ago to investigate a what I thought was intermittent parasitic power draw on the 12V battery of my Kia Niro EV that I explained was increasing in frequency requiring me to Jumpstart my car / recharge the battery with increasing frequency. When I dropped it off, they told me the earliest they could work on it was two or three days later (despite the fact that I had an appointment for that day). When I request an update three days later, they tell me they haven't yet started. At beginning of day four, I request an update again. No response. I call at the end of day four; they still haven't started but will try to get it in soon. On day five, I request an update, and am told they'll be expediting getting someone to look at it soon. At the end of day seven, I request an update: someone started looking at it near end of day (now a full week after my appointment). On day ten, I pick it up still undiagnosed, but unfortunately they aren't able to identify the source of the problem - the car started for them. Well... when the car doesn't start for me the next day, and my home car charger no longer even recognizes its attached to a battery to recharge it, I decide to try just replacing the 12V battery with a new one from OReillys, and voila: it turns out that the problem was just a dead / dying 12V car battery. My issue then is twofold: 1) despite scheduling in advance, my car still sat a week in their lot before anyone looked at it ... 2) whoever looked at it did not diagnose a very simple problem, a bad 12V battery. read more

I had decided to buy a Soul based on info from one of the salesmen. He was lying. I now have a car that doesn't do what I needed it to do. On the day I went to buy the car their ads were saying the 2023 Soul Lx was 18,500 but they used bullshit accounting tricks and fast talk to charge me 24,000. Final cost 29,000 dollars and I have the lowest least modified Soul. Basic base model. I will NEVER recommend these con artists and liars. Run don't walk away from this dealership!!!!! read more

The receptionist said they weren't allowed. In addition, the receptionist is answering calls via the speaker phone. How unprofessional. Not everyone wants to hear what a customer is calling about. UPDATE: Shortly after writing this review, your receptionist informed a customer her card was declined whereas, the customer inquired if cash was acceptable. When working with the public, respect, prompt & courtesy is warranted/demanded along. All customers don't have to know another customer's business/situation. Hard time can be had by all. I had the greatest experience at Serramonte Kia. As soon as we arrived to the lot Zahi came out and greeted us. I instantly saw the car I wanted to test drive and without hesitation Zahi got the keys and we were on the road. The car drove smoothly and felt very comfortable. I had been to so many dealerships that day and test drove many cars. I honestly already had my mind set on another car at a different dealership but something about this car and how Zahi went into full detail about this car made the other one simply fade away. CONSUMER BEWARE!!!! I caught them red handed after an oil filter and tire rotation change back in October. I marked my tires with dots before the tire rotation change, after 2 wasted hours of waiting, the service tech notified me that the work was completed. I checked the tires and noted that they didn't do the rotation and I informed the service tech of that, he tried to deny it, but after showing him the marked tires that proved they never did the rotation, he then agreed to do the rotation. In short Serramonte KIA lied to me and tried to charge me for something they didn't do. What prompted me to do this review in the first place, is when I tried to make an appointment for an oil and filter change recently, I was told that would cost $150. What a ripoff! Putnam KIA charges $99 for the same oil filter change. I talked to Wilson the Service Manager about his predatory pricing, but he was clueless, dismissive and no help. I spent thousands at this dealership, and they are very unappreciative for that, so I will never do business here again. read more
