ServiceMaster Restoration did a really good job for our business! We had a lot of water damage from a water heater that stopped working. The floor was damaged in our Staff Room. The repair involved replacing the flooring, replacing the baseboards and repainting the Staff Room, the water heater closet and part of the adjacent hallway. Everything looked better than it did before the water damage occurred! Miguel was primarily responsible for the painting, and he is a perfectionist. The attention to detail was terrific! read more

I'm a senior and widowed , in the middle of the night a part under my bathroom sink exploded like a fire hydrant on the streets , I had no idea how to shut off the water , it flooded my master bath, bedroom and went thru the floor vent and flooded half the basement. I called service master , they had me sign at least 20 legal pages with print so tiny there was no way I could read them or understand. The manager never helped or explained anything. They moved my items in the bath and bedroom, brought in huge dehumidifiers that knocked my walls up , they carried things out in big black plastic bags without talking to me . So I was charged for them taking and disposing. When the manager would stop by I noticed him with a gadget that identifies moisture, I noticed he didn't look at it just pretended , after five days I told them to Leave , he told me all my floors would need to be removed and some walls which was not true as it was clean water , I'd never use them , shady as hell . read more

Service Master helped us clean up our garage after burst pipe caused major damage to the walls and contents. They were chosen by our insurance company, but we couldn't have picked a better company. The majority of the sheetrock had to be removed, and a lot of contents had to be sorted through to see what was water damaged and what wasn't. Of course there was days of drying out with blowers and dehumidifiers running around the clock. We had been using our garage for storage, and they cataloged everything that was water damaged for the insurance claim and packed up the rest for off site storage. After another company repaired the walls they returned our stuff earlier this week. We have now just about got everything put back away, and Rosy, Maria and Maritza did a terrific job of packing our stuff. They treated everything with care, regardless of whether it was fine china or cheap plastic swag from some company celebration. The job managers (David for the tear down and Tammi for packing) did a great job of keeping us informed of the process and schedule and were always responsive and available. read more

If there is a negative star, I would assign that to Svc Master. This is the worst company I've ever encountered. They claimed to be an expert in mold and restoration. Unfortunately, we had 3 failed mold test and that's with them coming back to redo/reclean 3x. On the 4th try, they cheated and created a subcontainment zone to avoid the issue. Unfortunately, they were assigned by the insurance company. Terrible, terrible, terrible. I would be very skeptical of the positive reviews. Beware. read more

We had a water damage on the first floor. Service Master is recommended by our insurance company. David came in to access the damage and coordinate the subsequent works. They set up equipments to dry out, and did the removal of insuration in the crawl space, hardwood floor planks, baseboard/drywall. They have different teams, but always call you in advance to let you know their arrival time. Team members are very polite and accomodating. Mohammad, Carl and Marc did the removal thoroughly -- taking out the nails on the sub-floor, covering our furnitures, moving piano around. Possibly the worst experience I have ever had. After someone flooded 3 floors of our building, Servicemaster was called in. They re-flooded our almost complete unit by installing our washer incorrectly. It leaked all weekend. They brought in fans, tore out underlay and We haven't seen them since. Apt sat empty for a year and a half with me emailing,calling, sending countless pics of not only their flood damage but all of the incomplete work. We had to give up, finish restoration out of our pockets, ($4000), and change the locks because they wouldn't return the key. If I wasn't so exhausted from this battle, I would sue. If I could give them 0 stars, I would! Who knows, may get my strength back. read more

I was really surprised because big companies aren't usually so personable. I had some smoke damage from the CZU fire and they came in under their estimate. They worked around us so we didn't have to leave. The whole thing took 3 days and I didn't even notice how long it took because it was nice having them around. Whether it was Gloria doing the supervising and estimating, Lucy the team leader or Raquel in the office helping answer questions, everything was professional, efficient, well communicated, painless and high quality. The house felt completely different after they completed their work. Apparently I got the A team. And I gained some friends too. Also, lag time was only a week from scheduling to arrival. We had a fire in one of the offices in our building. The was fire was small but dang, the smoke damage was extensive. The whole upstairs was black and stunk like a camp fire. I was freaking out at all the damage. I was recommended to call Servicemaster by our Insurance agent. They were life savers. From the great guys on the phone dispatching a crew immediately. Luis the crew leader was on it. They removed anything that couldn't be saved and cleaned and sanitized anything that could. I contacted the company in Las Vegas for evaluation of possible mold (dark spots) on the wall and Service Master REFUSED to go to the property and give an estimate for possible work. They were saying that they could only go to the property if there is mold but how the customer can know if it is mold or not...I believe only specialist can confirm this fact. State Farm called ServiceMaster out after some water damage to my home. I judge contractors based on four criteria: 1. Quality of Work, 2. Showing up when they promise, 3. Cleanliness of work, and 4. Performing the work they promise. They failed on all 4 accounts. I worked with Edson Martin and owner, Vince Tripp. 1. They did not dry out all the wet areas, they missed areas that needed to be removed. 2. Twice they showed up late or didn't do what they were supposed to. This point caused me problems. I had two new construction contractors show up to review and place bids. They could not because ServiceMaster did not demo the room when they said they would. Its a small job and very challenging to get contractors to come give bids. 3. Their workers tracked mud into a bathroom when they used it and destroyed our bathroom rugs. They also took the liberty of weighing themselves on our scales and talking about it in Spanish in front of my wife (who they didn't know was fluent). 4. They did not perform all the work as promised. On 6/12/214, Vince visited the damage and promised either an estimate to rebuild or a list of contractors that could help by 6/14/2014. As of 6/24/2014, I still have not received either. When I informed Edson Martin of this, he promised to change the price from $2,100 to $1,700. When I received the invoice, it was still $2,100. When I asked him why he was charging more than we agreed upon, he stated it was because he was billing State Farm. I guess it is their practice to over charge the insurance company. I will include photos of this conversation. When I informed owner, Vince Tripp of the situation, he showed no concern. I don't recommend Servicemaster. They do not do what the promise, their workers are not respectful, they did not dry out the agreed upon area, and try to over charge the insurance companies. No wonder our insurance rates are so high. On top of this, according to Edson Martin and his supervisor, Kaycee Tripp, they do not warranty their work. If you are reading reviews and are confused why they have so many mixed reviews, look at the dates of the good reviews. Nothing but bad reviews for the past 2 years. read more

The rating provided isn't for the actually cleaning/restoration services ... but rather for the very poor customer service provided by Service Masters. I had a fire damage to my place, and was referred to service masters by the agent that handled my claim. An hour later, I received a call from Service Masters and setup an appointment the same day with their project manager James K. He came right on time and took photos and explained how they would handle everything. So far ... excellent ... why 1 star you wonder? James K promised to provide a detailed estimate within 3 business days. I wanted to make sure I approved everything on the estimate before the work actually started. I called them back after 3 business days, and they promised to get a hold of James and have him send me the estimate. Three more days and what do I get? Nothing! I called back again just to receive the same promise over and over ... I even had my adjuster contact them to get them moving forward ... and she couldn't receive an estimate of services from them! Now imagine that you're requesting restoration services for your place after a fire accident, and the vendor is delaying the estimate for 10 days! Do they expect people to hire them if they don't provide an estimate for how much they would charge? Who did I hire instead? No one! I ended up taking things into my own hands, and worked with my insurance through it. I hired cleaners, movers, contractors for the restoration, and everything on my own just to avoid such a bad experience once again. read more

Quick Update - A couple of months later and damage is continuing, but slowly. Ron came back out to investigate further which led us to a tiny roof leak that was running down inside a wall and causing the damage. After the roofing contractor made the necessary repair we had ServiceMaster Restore back out to clean up damaged drywall, insulation, etc. in preparation for the repair work. They installed a dehumidifier and fans to dry out the remaining water. They got the job done in a professional manner - on time, courteous and without leaving a mess! I hope I don't need them for another job, but if I have water damage I'll call these guys first! Note, the machines did a good job but were noisy! read more

Where do I begin? Came back from a business trip and found the ceilings of my condo dripping water because the upstairs neighbors' water heater blew. I was tired, stressed and definitely didn't want to deal. One of my neighbors told me to call Service Masters. I called them and talked to a guy by the name of Ray. He told me they would take care of everything, and that's just what they did! I locked the door and went to a hotel to get some needed RNR. Ray kept me posted on every detail of the restoration of my place and after a few days my place was back in shape and my carpets looked better than ever. Long story made much shorter, Service Masters, headed by Vince Tripp, was called to handle water damage for me and tore out probably twice what needed to be torn out. He seemed to be trying to rip off my insurance company and they declined to pay the claim. Now I'm having other contractors give estimates for repairing the damage and discovering that I'll be paying less than 1/3 of what Service Masters tried to charge. I emphasize: * less than 1/3 * of what Service Masters wanted. I could have easily made this a 10 paragraph review but the summary is simple: Service Masters Allcare Restoration Services is a dishonest rip-off company and it all seems to emanate from Vince Tripp. I wrote out the entire legal name because I learned that Service Masters is a parent company and the locations are franchises. When I finally had the sheet rock repair done by someone else, I mentioned that Service Masters had torn out far more than was necessary. He told me that Service Masters has a reputation for doing exactly that. read more

I had a great experience using Service Master for water damage. They were easy to work with and charged a fair amount.

During one of the recent rain storms our roof developed 2 dripping leaks in our living room. The very next day, we called Service Master Restore (SMR). Being in the business they are in, they responded very quickly. We had a quick and temporary roof fix made to stop any further water damage. Once we had that done, SMR came out to began their demolition portion. They first put up a plastic sheet barrier, enclosing the living room, preventing any airborne particles from escaping. They then brought in industrial dehumidifiers and air filters and scaffolding before carefully tearing out damaged sheet-rock, insulation, baseboards, crown molding and carpeting, exposing all areas where moisture would hide. They removed all of the trash and debris created by the demolition. Once the demolition was complete, they brought in 4 industrial fans to begin the drying-out process. After several days of having the fans going 24/7, the moisture content in the wall and ceiling studs and sub-flooring was low enough to turn the fans off and begin removing their equipment. The removal of the moisture was the critical task because if any moisture remained in the walls, much more serious damage could be done. All the while, there were several different SMR employees involved in this process, all respectful of our time, our home and very competent in their jobs. They explained every step that was being done to easy our anxiety. Everyone involved was courteous and friendly, making a normally stressful situation as stress-free as possible. We had a fire at my law office with extensive damage. ServiceMaster was recommended by our insurance company. Tammi was very quick to meet me at my office and give me a quote for our damages. They assigned a crew to compile an inventory of total loss. Rosa and her very competent 2-member crew were very thorough and I received a complete report with pictures and detailed descriptions of each item. The crew also put my items in bags which was very helpful but a lot of work. They were supposed to take 3 days for this big job but Rosa and her crew were done in 2 days! Considering the amount of total loss items, this was amazing! Raquel, the manager, and Tammi, the production supervisor, were extremely responsive and organized and were always there to answer my many questions. I felt enormously taken care of during this terrible time of loss and I highly recommend ServiceMaster for any restoration needs. read more

This company ROCKS. I am managing an Estate where there is a raging C-diff infection. C-diff lasts on surfaces for 5 months. Nothing in the house can be touched and I didn't even want to touch the front door knob. So I my head was basically spinning regarding how to handle this. Martin and Cristabel came out right on time and calmly took over. They instructed me on what needed to be done. And were happy to do whatever special things I requested. I commented to Martin that he had a difficult job but he made it look easy. He said he loves his job and he feels that he is helping people (which he absolutely is!). ServiceMaster of Concord just finished helping us with our basement water damage cleanup and restoration. Thank goodness our landlord had insurance that included Servicemaster, and that very few of our belongings were water damaged. And thanks to SM's excellent supervisors and staff; all so easy to work with. All of our things had to be removed, and they stored them for us. Today everything was returned and placed back in a clean and tidy way under our instructions. They even dusted off things they had stored in our garage for us. Calling ServiceMaster Resotore with water damage was the best thing i did. I was upset with having to get repair and the time it would take. Ron Akrish brought dryers and fans , set them up and asdured me that the work would go promply. In one week carpet and walls were dried and Mike Olsen put in new pad and laid carpet. They mived things back in bedroom and storage unit. Ron brought the mirror door replacement, checked for dryness, took dryer and fans. Removed water heater from porch and completed cleanup. Thanks to ServiceMaster Restore by AAA for their professional, hard working employees. Everyone their has been so patient and polite with me as i was not calm at all. Rosie Garcia and her crew have just left my house and it is sparkling like new even after a fire caused serious smoke damage throughout the house! Ms. Garcia accommodated my scheduling needs, showed up on time, and worked hard ALL DAY to get the job done in just one day! The women worked cooperatively and seemed to enjoy what they were doing...or, at least that they were doing it together...a nice energy to have in the house. They left dehumidifiers to complete the job, although after their labors, the house smells so fresh and clean, I may not need them. They gave clear instructions on how to use the machines and where it would be most efficient to move them next. Luis and his team were very professional, friendly and caring during a difficult time and were sensitive to the additional factors involved. I contacted Servicemaster for a mold problem I had, and even agreed to pay the steep $180 fee for an estimate because of the incredibly high ratings here on Yelp. However, the estimate was extremely high for the amount of work needed, and included a hefty charge for asbestos testing for a house that was built after 2000! I ended up contacting another company (Servpro) which gave me a FREE estimate that was $1000 less than the one from Servicemaster! Lesson learned: Do not pay for an estimate that should be FREE just because a company has good ratings on Yelp. read more

I was concerned about mold in my house due to black areas on my bedroom ceiling and some other moisture concerns, so I called Service Master on Auzerais to inspect. James came out right on time and took a look, using a little electronic moisture meter. Within a few minutes, he determined I have no moisture problems, and the black areas appear to be candle soot! He suggested I call him out again after lots of hard rain when the highest chances exist of moisture problems, which I certainly plan to do. He gets five stars (and my first Yelp review) because when I asked him how much the visit would cost, he said "I'm not going to charge you because I was only here five minutes". In a world where most everyone is scrambling for dollars and many inspectors are rehab salesmen, this level of customer service is very rare and heartening. I would highly recommend these guys for remediation work because their attitude about treating customers right is enough for me. read more

A recent fire in my home left much smoke damage throughout multiple rooms. The walls were disgusting, and the smell was unbearable. My insurance company referred me to Servicemaster, and I'm sure glad they did! I called and was assisted by Tim. He told me what to expect and sent out an estimator person to assess the damage. They gave me detailed descriptions of what needed to be done and realistic timelines for when it should be complete. They explained everything to me in an easy to understand way (I know NOTHING about home repair), and they then got to work immediately on my house. The results were fantastic. You couldn't even tell there was any smoke. They left the house in better condition than before the smoke damage! The best part by far was the fact they put me at ease throughout the entire ordeal. What was a traumatic and emotional experience ended up not being too bad. Their friendly and communicative methods really helped keep the situation managable and kept me from freaking out more than I already was. I can't recommend them highly enough.
