However,…read moreafter an engineer friend of mine had his system replaced by Acker Heating & Cooling he couldn't say enough good things about them. I requested quotes from 2 reputable companies, (both by personal references) to replace my upstairs, (guest suite) heat pump. The other company sent out a tech, who read the numbers off my existing units and quoted a cost to replace exactly what I had. The owner, of Acker H&C came out and evaluated my entire system, asking questions of past performance of the system, etc. He sized service lines, duct work size and runs before quoting a replacement system. The following day after researching options he proposed a new system that would overcome the extensive amount of existing duct work that was limiting adequate air flow. The replacement system would be slightly larger in air tonnage and also compressor size. The work was scheduled for 2 weeks out, however we were expecting guests that weekend. Acker H&C came out before my guests arrived and got the system temporally cooling at no cost to me. The final installation was done within the day on the date promised. The service techs were all extremely polite, professional and covered every square inch of work area with drop cloths before beginning. After allowing several days to be sure everything was working as expected, the owner came out to inspect the work of his crew. It was not until this time that I made payment of any kind. As it ended up, my final invoice was less than expected and the quality of the work was impeccable.

The service guy Justin was there for about 3 hours. He was clearly aggravated. After he replaced the motor there was still no heat flowing thru the vents. He went under the house & when he came out he told me that the duct work was detached & he had fixed it. Charged me $550. Thirty minutes after he left there was still no heat flowing so my boyfriend went under the house not only was the duct work completely detached but it was lying on the ground. Spent another $110 at Lowes for new duct & fixed it ourselves. Later I removed the cover to the heat pump & found bared wires twisted together with no end caps & 2 breakers turned off. I've had my thermostat set at 76 for 8 days and the temperature has not risen above 65. Barely any heat at all. They charge a 400% mark up on the motor. I found the same one online for $95. When I called them I spoke to the owner. He refused to even come by & look at the issues even though they advertise a labor warranty. He the accused me of detaching the duct myself. He then told me that I had already paid & it was a done deal & basically told me to go f*** myself. Luckily my cell phone records. Today I began criminal procedings for verbal battery against the owner & legal procedings for fraud against the company.

Moral to the story, use them to diagnose, pay them their $70, and tell them no thanks to the repair and buy the stuff online and do it yourself. Very much a rip off but learn to play their game.

Do not use this Man. Douglas K. Monroe came to my home to install a garbage disposal. I have a…read morewritten report from a real professional who advised me that the garbage disposal installed was either after marking or used. Mr. Monroe supplied the warranty company Armis and the company he worked through TARP with a picture and receipt of a garbage disposal however it is not the one he installed in my home. After installing the garbage disposal in my house it leaked water onto my floors I had to use mops and large wash towels I got the water from under my cabinet, I called him and he came immediately, I recorded the entire conversation with him from the time he walked into my doors. He advised me the garbage disposal was installed incorrectly and he had to get a part from Lowe's to correct it and would charge me $70.00 to install. Keep in mind he just installed this disposal the day before. After he left I called an appliance professional that I know and told him what Mr. Douglas Monroe had told me. I added him on a 3-way call with Mr. Monroe and recorded the entire conversation. After Jamar spoke with Mr. MOnroe and let him know that what he was telling me was BS Mr. Monroe agreed to come back with the part he purchased from Lowes and install it for free. He came back to my home and installed the part. I have this recorded and I have the receipt that he got from LOWES with his debit card number on it. He is such a Liar. From November 1 until I noticed water on my floors on November 15, his fix had been leaking under my sink and I had to call another company called Mr. V's Appliance to fix the leak. The technician name PETER that came out advised me the garbage disposal was used and could not be fixed and that I would need a new garbage disposal. I have this conversation recorded also. This technician advised my Warranty company that the garbage disposal was used and could not be fixed and they agreed to purchase a new garbage and pay for this company to install which they did. This leak caused the plywood under my sink to buckle. The technician from Mr. V's advised me that the company should have insurance that would repair my plywood since it was caused by the leak from Douglas Monroe however Tarp The appliance professional company that contracts Mr. Monroe advised me that Mr. Monroe told them a different lie. Do not use this Man. He is substandard. He has a bullying personality. I am going to write this review on every source that I can. DO NOT USE THIS LYING, INEFFICIENT man, he will mess up your job and lie to get more money out of you. I have every call with the warranty company recorded also with his company tarp. I have my call log where I called them 15 times and now I have reached out to FOX 5 consumer news to report this travesty inflicted on me. REMEMBER THIS NAME DOUGLAS MONROE. He operated under the name of MONROE APPLIANCE and works through or contracts through different appliance companies. This man needs to stop. I am a retired senior and it is sad that people like this will pry on a senior and cause damage and not own it.
