It's a local joint that doesn't like new people. They aren't friendly unless you are a regular. That's not going to happen. The food is equivalent to a fast food restaurant. The woman who waited on us smelled so badly and looked like she hadn't showered in a month so we got up and left. That's just unacceptable. It was really disappointing. The hostess gave us a 20-25 wait time and we were not seated for 60 minutes. Then the kitchen took a very long time; we waited for our food for 50 minutes and it came out cooled and chips stale. We will not return to Mission. read more

First, I love the physical space of the restaurant and can't wait until the game room is open to enjoy. It's a great addition to downtown Kirkwood! I love the CWE and Loop locations, however I can't quite put my finger on why this location tastes different but it does. Mostly I think it is that the margaritas don't taste the same here and I love their margs! Food is good and service is always good. Hoping the margs are a Covid issue. read more

Absolutely horrible. I've never been a huge mission taco fan and never understood all the hype, however when I had a varying for these type of tacos, the Delmar and Soulard locations worked out. I've always heard such great things about Mission Taco -- especially the Soulard location. I was very excited to try it last night, and it was pretty disappointing. The arcade is cool and definitely fun for the little ones, but the food was just not good. We found 3 hairs in a couple of our food items throughout the night, we had a big party so I bet there was more that we didn't see... and my father and I both were sick to our stomach's last night and this morning after being the only 2 to eat his burrito. Really disappointing and definitely won't be going back, nothing to go back for. The service was also really unprofessional and a complete mess. We didn't have a reservation and there was a small wait but it went by really quickly with the fun, large arcade they have inside of the restaurant! We ordered queso and chips/guac which were delicious. The tacos were good but the shells didn't taste fresh so I'd probably try something else next time. Definitely a fun atmosphere and I'd look forward to going again next time I'm in town! read more

I've always loved mission taco, great food, service has always been amazing, and the arcade pulls everything together where not only kids can enjoy it but adults can too. We've ordered the shrimp tacos, duck tacos, and multiple other things that have always been delicious. I personally really love the salsa with the two different kinds, normal and spicy. I've never had an issue with it, someone I know on the other hand has had issues with hair in her food, I'd understand the mistake if it was just once, but sadly we had the issue twice. We have not been back much since then. That doesn't stop me from going to the arcade sometimes to feel back in the 90's, the ambiance of the arcade and whole restaurant is just amazing. This place is okay. I've had their food multiple times and nothing stands out but not terrible. Some of their popular items are Hot Chicken Taco, Southbeach Burrito, and Fried Shrimp Taco. If i were to eat here, I would get a burrito with the ancho or queso on top & a strawberry margarita. Went here for my birthday back in September. Did not have a good experience at all. They wouldn't sit my party together even though the tables were right next to each other and could have easily been shifted. Took half of the tables drink order and just walked off and came back with double the alcohol drinks that no one ordered and then got mad at us. Again took only half of the tables order so everyone's food came out at different times. The waitress was very frantic and didn't seem like she could focus. The location was cool and the whole arcade scene but again, some of the machines took your coins and some didn't work. Overall i enjoy a good taco but the food was just basic. The Kirkwood location needs improvement. I've eaten many times at the Mission Taco locations in Del Mar, St. Charles, and CWE but all of the issues I've had were at Kirkwood. Service was poor here as we waited 20 minutes to be acknowledged after being seated. Lots of employees standing around lollygagging. Ordered 6 tacos but received 5. Shrimp taco had the tail, chicken taco full of gristle. This isn't an isolated incident - it's a pattern at the Kirkwood location. I hope the management can turn this location around. read more

Not the best night for taco's tonight, Marg's were good, though a lot smaller than last year (I get it, always did like the big glass), had 3 taco's the carne asada with the flank steak, the steak had no flavor (tasted like medium rare flank steak I cook on the grill with just salt and pepper), the taco shell was not good at all very tough, had to rip threw with my teeth to eat it, also with very little flank steak (one small strip, is that all they give, where's the beef?). The fish taco, was overly cooked with dry fish (tasted like tilapia, is that what they use, I don't know ? Last 3 times was soft and delicious not tonight), thank goodness their was enough fresh tomato, cheese, and sauce to make up for the dry fish. But here is the kicker for the price these taco's should have been better, not a good night tonight. Wasn't the servers fault, just poor execution in the kitchen. read more

This place has the worst tacos ever. First our waitress didn't explain that they were served family style and she didn't bring us any plates. Then the carne asada tacos didn't even have any meat in them, basically shell and arugula with sauce. The other tacos I ordered were just spicy, no actual lavor: The shells were also the worst I've ever eaten. Service was not great. The salsa was just okay, one way too spicy. Rice too spicy. Notice a theme? And I love spice! The margarita was ok. This place also has terrible acoustics inside and we could hardly hear each other. Never will be back. read more
