We came here on a Wednesday night, not that crowded. I tried their special 10oz ribeye with mushroom sauce and my sister had the spinach gnocchi and it was really juicy and full of flavor I would highly recommend. The blu- jito had muddled blueberries and fresh mint, not overpowered by the rum so I really liked that since I'm a cocktail fanatic. The tiramisu was the perfect balance of sweet and bitter because of the coffee, it was also made in house and not that frozen variety you find at your local restaurant depot. We are visiting DC from BC Canada and wanted a good place to eat. We walked up 14th street and found this Gem. I had the Salami Pizza and he had the Lasagna, and oh was it a treat. We have yet to find somewhere back home that makes it as good as here. They have perfected the flavors so they all work with each other and you taste everything in every bite. Disgusting food, dirty restaurant, and a staff who could care less. I sent my meal back because it was so horrible. They took it off the bill and comped the deserts, which were also pretty bad . Never Again. Waiter was so busy he could barely greet us but he was trying. Someone on the staff picked up something from the floor and put it on the table which was gross. Don't pick things up from the floor and put them in a guests table! My tuna tartare was so filled with avocado that it was more guacamole than anything. I had the steak with mushroom risotto. Steak was ok but the risotto was revolting -- green colored and a mushy greasy overcooked mess. The manager comped deserts which were okay but I also ordered coffee and it never came and so we had to ask to have that taken off the bill. I went for brunch because I wanted to try something new. The menu had a lot of great options - I had the shrimp Benedict while my boyfriend had the crab cake Benedict. While the food was nothing super creative and special, it was delicious. My favorite part was that the individual drinks were so reasonably priced. So often, you see brunch spots offer a bottomless drink deal (this one is $15 for all-you-can-drink mimosas and bellinis), but the individual drinks are still $10/each. We had a very disappointing experience here. We walked in because the sign outside promised a nice happy hour and small plates/appetizers. However, when we were seated, we found out that the happy hour only applied in the bar area where we could not sit since we had our baby with us! We could not get the happy hour drinks or appetizers at our table (even though we were literally right next to the bar).... There were not many vegetarian options, and not much flexibility in ordering. Since one of us is vegetarian, we could not do half and half pizza that most places do. The Greca pizza we ordered was pretty lame (picture). Any other toppings were extra. Overall, very disappointing. Came here last night for birthday, and I really enjoyed myself! I came with my family around 6:30pm, it was a large group. The atmosphere was nice. It was lively and the food and drinks were good too! Towards the end of our dinner I got birthday cake from the restaurant and they came out and sang happy birthday to me. Our whole section ended up singing happy birthday to me lol. Everything felt authentic about the place. I will definitely go back whether it's with a group or a intimate date with my wife or evening a double date. The only thing I didn't like was the parking. The Logan Circle area around that time, on a Saturday night, can get really crowded, having you look for parking for about 30 minutes and the nearest parking garage is about 5 blocks south of the place. And for the large party that we had, we were pretty cramped. But overall the atmosphere was great, the staff and other customers like myself were great. I real definitely come back again! read more

I was cruising down 14th St and came upon this hidden gem. What got me in the door was the Sunday Happy Hour that was starting at 5pm. I thought yasss cheap sangrias for this 80 degree Sunday in April. I elected to sit outside to enjoy the beautiful weather and to my chagrin happy hour was only available inside. The waitress was so sweet and the seating was so comfortable I stayed. In any case I ordered the half carafe of red sangria (delicious & refreshing), the bruschetta (light & refreshing) and the di rucola e finacchio, which is a fancy name for an arugula salad with lemon dressing (also light & refreshing). Saw on Instagram that this place was doing dinner on Thanksgiving, and went since my parents are out of the country and I'm not going home til Christmas. I absolutely loved everything; I am from Europe and it's very hard to get great Italian in this area, and having Sette Osteria's menu gave me a little taste of home during the holidays. I recommend any of their pastas, and their burrata is super fresh. I heard there's a nother location in DC but haven't been yet. I attended Brunch here yesterday and the the experience was rather disappointing. It was hot as hell outside but it didn't seem like the AC was running in the restaurant. The air was not circulating and the restaurant was HOT. Usually it's just me that is hot, but everyone is the group said the restaurant was warm. I ate a Crab omelette which was very good. The potatoes that it came with were kind of overdone and the serving was quite small and sad. I ordered wheat toast and they didn't even bring butter. When I did request the butter, it came out rock solid cold. How do you spread that on toast? We also ordered a waffle with fruit and that was "just ok" The one dish that we all seem to like was the breakfast flatbread. Everything else was just a bit underwhelming. My friend said the corn beef hash was terrible. Maybe Brunch just isn't their "thing". I will try def dinner one night to see if they can redeem them self. read more

we attempted to eat here on an early sunday evening in january when the weather was nice. i called ahead to verify the patio was open then proceeded to make a reservation on open table. we arrived a few minutes early and were seated outside as requested. it was early enough that it wasn't very busy inside or out. we were seated for 35 minutes and no one had come to take our drink or food order. only the busboy came by to fill our waters and drop off the complimentary bread basket. we had waited long enough and eventually left. i am very disappointed as i was looking forward to eating at this restaurant, but i will not waste my time again. read more

We just had a very good meal here and this review will be from a vegetarian perspective. It was our first visit and the numerous vegetarian choices lured us in. Service was excellent throughout and our waiter gave us a great recommendation on the dessert: one of their specials of the day, a tartufo. I wish I had the full description handy. It was very good. The celery root soup that was also a special was tasty and the modified caeser salad that my wife had was very good, too. They were very accommodating in moving away from a traditional caeser dressing. We also had the margherita pizza and the scialatelli pasta and both were delicious. We'll definitely be heading back to sample more menu items. They had a pasta special with a porcini mushroom sauce that looked very good. Fantastic And Authentic Italian restaurant. Great selections of pastas made in house, like my mamma or nonna used to make! The restaurant is really pretty and looks new and trendy and there is a wide selection of wines and cocktails to pair with dinner. The whole fish Branzino, Mediterranean Sea Bass is probably my favorite dish, it is delicious and fresh and juicy that they found a way to serve it without a bone and that's usually the only cons from ordering fish for me since I have glasses and I don't see all the little white bones. Friday and Saturday nights can get very busy and it is definitely better to make a reservation for those nights, they are very nice and accomodating if you want to be seated but you will see the tables around constantly and rapidly turning! read more

This restaurant ruined my birthday was the absolute worst experience I've ever had with a restaurant and it could have been prevented with a single phone call from them. I made a reservation for 8 people 3 weeks in advance and included that it was my birthday in the notes. I got a confirmation of my reservation the day before and everything. We all arrived at the restaurant and were shocked to find that the restaurant was completely closed. I received absolutely no notice that my reservation was cancelled or that they would be closed. I tried to call and the voicemail didn't say anything about the unscheduled closure, there was nothing on the website, there was absolutely no way for me to know this before I arrived with my 7 guests who had all travelled up to 2hrs to celebrate with me. You would think that if the management had a full day of notice before my reservation time for 8 people they might take a second to call me to let me know that they had an unplanned closure. You would think that a manager or someone might be at the restaurant to at least greet guests and apologize to them. We parked in the garage that was supposed to be validated and ended up having to pay even though we couldn't even eat there. On my birthday I was left to attempt to find a restaurant anywhere nearby that could seat 8 with no notice....the only place was a restaurant where I was allergic to everything on the menu. This is an absolutely unacceptable way to manage a restaurant I can only imagine how bad the service must be if you actually make it through the doors. read more

Consistently good pizzas and pastas. Staff is welcoming and always accommodating. My favorite is the prosciutto pizza, cheese and arugula compliment the prosciutto nicely. Prosciutto pasta is amazing as well... Do we notice a pattern with me??? Most recently there was a small hiccup with a take-away order. Our household accidentally ordered from another place, lack of communication on our part. Either way the staff quickly acted and made our two pizzas and I was on my way. The pizzas were perfect: crust crispy, cheese gooey and the chef was kind in adding more cheese and chili peppers to our pizza. Thankfully the bartender recommended a fantastic house Chianti for me to enjoy while I wait. All in all we will continue to frequent Sette Osteria read more

I've only ever gotten two things here: 1) the mussels with a side of potatoes and 2) gluten-free pasta. The mussels/potatoes are pretty good; oddly enough, they're much better in the Dupont location. But it's a fair price for the quality and quantity of food. The gluten-free pasta was good, but my server didn't seem thrilled that I was asking for a gluten-free order or to take my allergy seriously, so I worried that she may have gotten the order wrong. Ultimately, it turned out great, but I'm wary to order gluten-free as a result, even though it's offered. Overall though, the service is fast and attentive, the manager is wonderful and the food and prices are good enough to keep me coming back fairly regularly. read more

It's hard to get 5 stars from me, but based on the 2 dishes I had today for a very late lunch, they totally deserve it. First of all, the basket of pizza dough pieces were fluffy and went so well with the delicious olive oil on the table. For lunch, I chose the small plate of shrimp crostini with spinach and Calamarata appetizer. Oh my goodness...let me start with crostinis. Three crisp and fluffy crostinis with perfectly cooked shrimp and spinach and then doused in a fabulous buttery sauce. I used a knife and fork to cut each bite and the shrimp seemed to mold itself to be the perfect amount per slice. I mean so freaking delicious. Now, the Calamarata salad. Not many places grill calamari or when the do, do it well. This salad is mixed greens with large slices of grilled calamari, not rings, with shaved red onion, cherry tomatoes and capers. These weren't just tomatoes and onions thrown into a salad, they had been marinated with basil and olive oil or something, I don't know, but whatever they do to those vegetables made the salad sing. It's tossed in a light vinaigrette and just perfect for a hot as hell day like today. I will be back, oh yes, I will be back. To try other things of course, but definitely for the exact meal I had today. Also, the service was great albeit it was 4 o'clock and I was one of like 6 people there. Great, great food. I try to give places two chances before I leave a review, and just went to Sette Osteria for the second time last night. On my first visit back in December, I ordered pizza and one of their Italian sodas. It's $13 for a basic marguerite pizza, which is one of the cheapest entrees they offer. And the Italian soda was also pretty pricey. The waiter poured the soda in a cup, and when the cup was full, he dashed off with the leftover soda and its container. Normally waiters leave the bottle at the table so you can finish the rest. But that was not the case here. So I paid for a full soda and didn't get to drink all of it. On my second visit last night, my group and I all ordered the pastas. My carbonara was delicious, though the onions weren't really cooked. My biggest regret though is paying $17 for a pasta serving that was fit for a child. My friends had the same experience with their fettuccine and other pasta dishes. Extremely overpriced for the little amount of food that we get. I usually am able to go home with leftovers when I order pasta at restaurants. Here at Sette Osteria, I finished my pasta in just a few bites and left hungry. The service was good and the food was too, but you don't get what you pay for. I recommend only ordering the pizzas/calzones when you eat here. Otherwise you're just not getting your money's worth. read more

A refuge from an exhausting day and is SO much better than the overhyped, overstuffed fanfare party and bullshit of all the other joints on 14th St. Note to all of y'all jerkfaces: Grown and sexy does not equal having to shout over your entrees so that your dinner party can hear you even if you CAN afford that $25 plate of bucatini, god damn it! No, Sette is not hip, or hot, or sexy, but who cares? I am not 20 anymore; what I want is depth, not a date to an LA movie premier or a BYT party. And if you can't deliver me depth, I at least expect to feel welcomed, to trust in the food, and to be able to actually hear what my friends are saying while I stuff my face with food. Sette hits all of these requirements and is a delicious and reliable spot to catch up with old friends, and eat wonderfully prepared crostini di gamberetti and linguine della paranza (both my go-to dishes and always so satisfying). And if you are in the mood for Italian staples and don't feel like whipping out the Barilla, Sette's got you covered, devoting nearly half a page of its sizable menu to pastas, and statistically speaking, at least three will embrace your heart's sehnsucht-y desires. Their happy hour is dope, too, and practically a steal around these parts, with $5 beers, wines, and cocktails in addition to $6 flatbreads and small bites, which are all tasty and reminds me that life is just so much better with a glass of Chianti and a boatload of carbs. Wait staff is supremely courteous as well. A comforting gem, and even moreso when considered with its needlessly glamorous and luridly crowded competitors in this area. If you want to see and be seen, seek elsewhere. If you desire coziness, quiet, good Italian food, and don't feel the need to impress shallow biotches, then cut the bullshit and go here. A+ read more

Most of the outdoor restaurants in Logan Circle are dog friendly and we always had no problem bringing our dog. Unfortunately we were turned away because they do not accept dogs.
