Came here on a Friday night before heading out for night time plans. I learned that there are 4 spots all in the building. This is ultimately the first big room you see after passing the eatery at the front entrance. I got a yummy cocktail! Was the perfect balance of the use of passionfruit. Honestly felt like I could easily chug it...which I did! Haha

I was upstairs at the Slipper Clutch watching some metal bands play. They were only offering bottled beer upstairs so I took a stroll to the Grayson and low and behold they offered beer on tap. I ordered an IPA and went upstairs a happy camper.

A lot of times a great bar is a cool venue, jarring decor, interesting and creative drinks, a buzzy and sometimes boisterous crowd. My wife and I's experience with The Grayson Bar was none of those things. The bar's decor is very nice: a long, highly polished wooden bar counter; a wall of top-shelf alcohol; a pleasing and pleasant vibe. Our drink, an Old-Fashioned, was very well made and generous. But what made the bar memorable and truly stand out was our bartender. My wife and I had a great conversation with him on a number of topics. Just a terrific person. I'm not often in downtown LA at night, but when I am, this will be a bar that I will visit.

So glad that we chose to stop by The Grayson! The inside is large and it's nice to have options. There are 2 more bars inside, which only adds to the allure. X was the best! Such a chill dude with good vibes and welcoming! Karaoke night was a good time! Would definitely come back for drinks here, but only with X behind the bar...otherwise just don't stop.

One of the first few bars that took their chances in starting their business in highland park and since the time they opened they continue to have a welcoming and cool vibe. Awesome place to watch Los dodgers or any other sporting event.

My cousin and I were looking for a spot with good music, good drinks, and just good vibes and that's exactly what we found here at Grayson. Our bartender X was phenomenal and charismatic, the DJ knew just the perfect mix of music we were looking for that night. We danced and enjoyed our drinks. Definitely recommending and coming back !!

You can order sandwiches from Fabby's to enjoy here

4++ intimate, smallish bar located in DTLA. It's on the same block as Grand Central Market and connected to Fabby's Sandwicherie (the store front says The Grayson Bar, but I originally came to this location specifically for the sandwiches, haha). That said, you can actually order sandwiches/ food from the Fabby's and they actually could bring you your order if you decide to go to the bar and grab a drink - which is what I did. The bartenders here are very chill and friendly. When I went during the week, there was just a handful of other patrons here drinking. Definitely the type of spot where you go with a friend to catch up or possibly a good spot for early on in the dating cycle. The selection here is really great. They actually have a great stock of rare whiskeys. I would suggest with such a great stock, create a whiskey list for folks to refer to. I could almost guarantee that anyone looking at those type of bottles would appreciate a short list. The alternative is having to ask the bartender how much each of the pours are and I'm guessing it would get annoying for them to look up each price while others are waiting to be helped. Also, once I did find out how much the prices were for the rare bottles...it was a little rich for my blood. It's not too surprising since the location is in DTLA and the buildout looks pretty fantastic here. But for me personally, I would drink some of the more rare bottles elsewhere (I specifically have my spots). Not to take away from this place - I think it's a fantastic place to meet up for a drink and probably would order cocktails the next time I am there.

    Let's play some pool!

Drinks: Really, really good. My absolute favorite was the boat drink with foam on top, but we split several others and I liked everything we tried. Vibe: Unmatched. There are several drinks on the menu with a theatrical presentation that gets the whole bar involved. The space is small, so you'll inevitably have your conversation interrupted by an alluring siren's call or some ceremonial rowers. This is a crucial part of the tiki experience for me. The bartenders all have their different spin and clearly are in it for the love of the game. We had a lot of fun chatting with the staff. Food: I ate 2 orders of soup dumplings and probably could have bodied down 5 more. They were ridiculously good, but prohibitively expensive.

I didn't fancy the flavor and this is a very popular drink so it stinks up the place every time it gets served to someone. Dark Magic $18 - Objectively not a bad drink but too tart for my partner and I didn't prefer the flavor. Service 5/5 Standard service. Our waitress got us some free shots, very kind. :) Ambiance 4/5 I love the vibes, the darkness, the decor. It's just too stinky and smokey whenever they serve the Painkiller.

It wasn't your typical corner haunt. There was an intentionality here that turned a simple evening out into a genuine education. The curation of spirits was nothing short of impressive, but what set the experience apart was the conversation. I arrived knowing the difference between a glass and a bottle, but left with a newfound appreciation for the nuances of rum, the craftsmanship behind a smooth whiskey, and the unexpected complexities hidden within a well-made vodka. Each pour came with a story, a history, and a level of expertise that transformed every sip into a lesson. The atmosphere was the perfect anchor for it all--utterly chill and devoid of the frantic, forced energy you find elsewhere. It was the kind of place where the music sits at just the right volume and the lighting invites you to actually linger. It was refreshing to find a spot that treats its craft with such respect while keeping the vibe completely grounded. I walked out feeling a little more cultured and a lot more relaxed. Consider this my official notice: I'll definitely be back.

From the moment you walk in, it feels like you've been transported somewhere else. Every room is thoughtfully designed, and the atmosphere is immersive and unlike anything we've experienced before. The storyteller was welcoming, engaging, and incredibly knowledgeable. I really enjoyed learning about the history of alcohol and the stories behind each tasting. The cocktails were definitely on the stronger side, but you could tell they were crafted with high-quality ingredients. Unfortunately, our experience was somewhat tainted by our hostess. She came across as impatient and unwelcoming, which set the tone early on. When we first entered, we were each handed a small glass of liquid, and then she immediately walked away without explaining what it was or what we were supposed to do with it. We assumed it was a welcome drink, so we all took a sip only to discover it was actually a palate cleanser. A little guidance would have gone a long way. The next room had a beautiful bayou-inspired setting. While the historical information was interesting, I found myself wishing the experience leaned more into the mystical or magical themes that the venue seems to promise. One thing worth mentioning is the restroom setup. I don't mind coed restrooms, but there was no signage explaining that the restroom is shared with two open stalls. Some guests may appreciate a heads-up, especially those who might feel uncomfortable or triggered by that arrangement. After the tastings, you're taken outside. A few of us stopped to use the restroom first, and when we returned, our friend had already left the table and all of our drinks had been cleared away. We were disappointed because we hadn't finished them. Our friend had been told she couldn't take the drinks with her, but when we returned we could take them outside. She was told that they'd be there when we got back. We were disappointed. The outdoor portion of the experience also felt a bit rushed. We barely had time to enjoy our drinks, let alone take photos of the beautiful space. The beignets at the end, however, were absolutely delicious and a highlight of the evening! Finally, we were escorted to the members-only bar, which was stunning. It gave off major Harry Potter vibes with its hidden, magical atmosphere. One of my friends was still finishing her drink on the patio since we couldn't legally walk on the sidewalk with it. Our hostess told us she'd come back for us but she never did. After waiting quite a while, another staff member happened to walk by and kindly helped us. Once inside, everything turned around again. The bartender was warm, friendly, and helped us choose drinks off the menu. I ordered the piña colada, and while it was much stronger and different from the traditional version I'm used to, it was absolutely delicious!!! Despite some service issues and inconsistent communication, I would still recommend Obscure. The concept is unique, the cocktails are excellent, and the venue is truly one of a kind. I'm hoping our hostess was simply having an off day, because with more attentive service, this experience could easily be five stars.

This place is also nestled in the heart of the Arts district next to other bars that know their personality and go spheres-out to claim. So its aesthetic meets the orbiting bars not in style but commitment to its brand,. I went on a night where they were specifically showing a Love Island Episode. Why? Morbid curiosity? Guilty pleasure? A reason to go out. Yes and then some. The place was immediately recognizable by its hot pink door. The door promised a portal and it delivered. As soon as you enter the bar it hits with theme, with neon, with crowd dressed in posh attire. Like I said it was a vibe in pink. When I went to the bathroom the line was only female. The leader of the line was explaining that they could use the male bathroom since no males were there and cue my entrance. A few women were already inside and I waited until the line leader said it was ok to go in. I implict take away is that this night was women heavy. Like the shows fan base was mostly young chicks. Who knew? I have been to a few soccer games at bars in the recent past and of course there is a lot of expressions of enthusiasm and commentaries as the game progresses. The bar was set up in the same way. The tvs were there, showing the game, and I wondered if they were going to collectibely gasp and root as the episode continued I saw that they did. When an Islander said something impactful the crowd reacted. It was like seeing a game and enjoying it but here it was relationship dynamcis/drama unfold. And people were here for it. In fact, as I was waiting to order my drink, I heard customers behind me analyze the drama as sports fan analyze a game. And they were ciomparing different seasons. Apparently season six made the guy behind him feel uncomfortable because it was too freak. Either that season or this season had toe sucking. So there was history in this game that led to fan reactions and follow up insight. They were invovled fans. And this was the congregation for involved fans. I went to live the dream of a fan who would die for this and could not come. I eventually gave up on a drink the line was too long.

The server was saying he was trying to find a manager to help out but they were nowhere to be found. Clearly management is fine with these service times since they're still making $$$. The drinks were delicious, and I loved that there were heaters on the patio (though they did get very hot at times). Our server was so kind and brought us a celebratory drink.
