Amazing Veterinarian Hospital! The staff is very kind and friendly. This place is Disney land for dogs or pets! The way the staff spoil your pet with treats, peanuts butter, hugs, kisses. Your pet thinks it's a daycare. Plus you can't beat a 5% military discount!

Despite me typing up a whole instruction sheet, he insisted on walking through again just to be sure (which is very reassuring). The actual pet sitting was spectacular. The pet sitter who was assigned was Kim. She spent plenty of time with the cats and made sure they were well cared for while I was away. The visit reports they leave are really cute as well. Could not have gone smoother! I'd also like to add that they were available with very short notice (3 other pet sitting companies were unable to handle our request). Also want to add that Stewart (when he came for the home visit) was wearing a mask and gloves to protect against COVID (a welcome sight). Pet owners would should have their minds at ease if they select Love Those Paws. If I go on vacation again (few and far between these days) I would definitely use them again!

The sitters vary but all are enthusiastic based on the reports they leave. After every visit the sitter leaves a note of when they came and left and what they did. They also usually text us an update and a picture of our birds. We come back to a stack of reports. The sitter stays a while after the food, water, and paper are changed to make sure the birds aren't acting weird, and I hear that some singing goes on. We've never had a problem and have be accommodated at very short notice when we want to go away for the weekend. I highly recommend this company. 1/27/20 Update: Just used them again during a ten day trip to Hawaii. I'm pretty sure our birds are in love with Alex, who came for most oF the visits. Now they are just stuck with us. As always, a great experience and we love being able to travel without any worries.

Overpriced, for average service. I recently learned they charge 3 times what other vets in the area…read morecharge, and unlike in the past (when a smaller operation), the service isn't even as good. It's just costlier. They literally charge for the smallest of "conveniences", ones that should be part of good care (and don't tell you up front- you just get charged). I was suspicious but since I'd taken my pets there for MANY years (across owners) I was just continuing for convenience. My fault for being "lazy"- but take heed from my experience and shop around for care! The quality doesn't justify the overcharge...

I am extremely disappointed with my experience at Hickory Ridge Animal Hospital…read more While the veterinary care itself may be fine, the front desk staff was shockingly unprofessional and lacking in basic compassion. My dog was visibly anxious and struggling to settle in an already stressful environment. Instead of showing understanding, I overheard front desk staff making comments to one another about my dog, assuming I couldn't hear them. They were laughing under their breath and remarked that their dog would never need to be muzzled like mine. As a pet owner doing my best to manage a nervous animal responsibly, that was humiliating and unnecessary. What was especially concerning is that I was asked to muzzle my dog in the lobby while he was already showing signs of distress. Doing so in a crowded space only escalated the situation and created a potential safety concern for anyone nearby. Muzzling is a valid safety tool, but how and when it's handled matters -- and this was not handled appropriately. A veterinary office should be a place where pet owners feel supported, especially when their animals are struggling. Compassion and professionalism are not optional in this field. Unfortunately, neither was demonstrated by the front desk staff during my visit. I truly hope management addresses this, because no client -- or animal -- should be treated this way.

Dr. Sinclair made sure everything was explained to me and that I approved. When I picked my cat up the X-rays of her teeth were shown and again explained to me. Our kitten went in for an eye issue and we discovered he has FIP…read more First issue, we were told our kitten was *supposedly* and 8 year old cat imaging our surprise at this when we have watched him grow since he was well, a kitten. - he is 1.5 yo During this appointment, after reviewing the blood work, we were told he would have to come in a few times and we would have to purchase a scale "you could weigh him with any cheap scale like a $20 one you can get on Amazon" for at home weight checks. We were also told the treatment is not cheap. While leaving our first visit they informed us, we would need to closely monitor him, and handed a list of emergency vets in the area, due to the stress from the vet visit. While making a comment regarding euthanasia. A week later, with very little interaction from the vet, spare a few text -from the staff, none of which asking how his condition was improving/deteriorating, *until notified we were changing Vets* note the vet was at a seminar but informed us she was reachable. Apparently not well enough. Oh, single phone call about the price from their chosen pharmacy *before the seminar* they informed us the cost would be over double the pharmacy I requested. *EXACT same medication. *This quote took until the end of the next day. After being told this was a possible euthanasia case, why they wouldn't have been faster to that I am not sure* the appointment was on a Monday, the phone call was not until Tuesday, at 3pm, and after receiving confirmation, the prescription was not sent to them until the end of the day, causing the medication to be received even later, as it is shipped. *After going to this pharmacy again, and having very fast responses from them and the new current vet, I see the issue was on the prior vet, and not the pharmacy. Once this vet found out the price of the medication was more than cut in half for us, then the protocol they had discussed in the office prior had suddenly changed. Now she wanted to see him every 7 to 10 days for CBCs, blood draws, reoccurring $300-400 visits, that they had said were very stressful for him, to the point of handing emergency vet info at the first visit, in case he ran into complications through the night, or required euthanasia. Note the first visit was $600~approximately. Let's also note that these weekly CBCs would also require their own "initial office visit fee" "but only for the first one" you mean the first visits "initial visit fee" isn't the same "initial visit fee" you need for the now weekly blood draws you're requesting. During this time we received the medication, we were in the process of moving, before we even brought him in for his *what we thought was going to be a simple eye issue* we requested a refill because, we would not be able to see our new vet until the 24th due to schedule, we were due to run out of medication on the 25th. Dr Sinclair who is more about the money than for the love of the animals, would not do a refill of the exact same medication. And said, "it sounds like you will be able to see your new vet before your current supply runs out." Let's also note that before the pharmacy change the offer to purchase all of the 84 day treatment at once was available. So a simple refill now being out of the question, make me raise a concern for ethics. Being she has seen him within the past 12 month period. Within the last week to be exact since the refill request. I will also note here that after the new vet appointment he is on the EXACT same dosage. So we have changed vets to a wonderful one, who noted our kitten is NOT a senior cat like Dr Sinclair claimed. Explained in depth the treatment for FIP and got us our medication just in time. Thanks to them, not Dr Sinclair, our kitten will continue to get better, and surprisingly at much cheaper cost granted cost of living area has changed with the move. After all is said and done, I do not recommend this vet at all. They are here for the money and not for the love of the animals.

The techs and front desk staff are friendly. They generally can get you an appt next day. The bad: 1. My pet has been seen here within the past 6 months. I called to get a simple flea and tick med refill. We are up to date on the heart worm testing that had been performed here. The receptionist told me I could not get the med filled because it is state law to be up to date on rabies vaccination to get flea and tick medicines prescribed. My pet did not have a rabies vaccine on file at the first visit, when they prescribed me a 6 month dose. They did not tell me at the time that a stipulation to refill would be to have proof of rabies vaccine. Poor communication to me, and gave me misinformation because it is not State law, but instead their individual policy for this company that they must have proof of rabies to prescribe anything else to you. I appreciate that the medical director did call me back same day and listened to my concerns. They filled the med as a one off, but it was very disheartening to have to jump through hoops to get a preventative care medicine that other vets would readily give because all that is actually required by law is a valid vet-client relationship which, for most vets, means they have examined your pet within the past year. 2. We had cytology sent away for my dogs lump. The vet called to discuss the results and said that not enough sample had been collected, but she was confident it was a lipoma. This seemed to be an error in collecting the sample, but when discussing with the medical director it was told to me that this was another miscommunication. It was actually deemed a lipoma per the lab. 3. We brought our 4 month old, 4 pound kitten is for pre-surgical labs for her spay. They said she was too unruly and gave us meds to make her calmer. We came back with her medicated and they were still unable to get a blood sample. This is not a feral cat, she is a well domesticated cat we have bottle fed since 4 weeks old. The vet that performed her spay was able to get bloodwork without pre-meds. Unfortunately too much "bad" outweigh the "good" for us to return here.
