This sweet shop looks very unassuming, but don't let that fool you. The baby cake blew my mind! Every layer was as irresistible as the one previous. The macarons are not your ordinary flavors... I chose the champagne and tiramisu which were unforgettable. The shop keep welcomed me in with their warm and bubbly personality. I am a very indecisive person which can annoy most people, but their patience and kindness spanned my entire visit!

I discovered this shop last summer and I will always pop in any time I'm downtown. The most amazing treats! Brownies are to die for. The presentation of the tarts and confections in the case makes you feel like a kid in a candy store. We recently ordered a cake for my daughter's birthday. It was so beautiful, I didn't want to cut it. The flavor was so good! Moist cake, sweet frosting & epic filling! Love! And I would be remiss if I didn't mention how friendly and attentive the Sewell's are. Very kindhearted people and excellent makers of sweet treats!

My favorite sweet treat place in salem. the owners are so incredibly kind and the cakes/cookies/drinks are all so incredibly delicious. I highly recommend this place for an afternoon treat or dessert. They have coffee too!

If you're looking for a truly unique dessert with great flavor, this is the right place. I came here on a whim whilst taking a walk through downtown Salem. My fiancee spotted it while we snacked at Bo & Vine and wanted to check it out for our upcoming wedding. As we walked by, the bearded gentleman at the counter gave an unexpected but friendly wave, so we just had to walk in. He provided us a sample of their brownie. It was light, decadent, and slightly crisp with a deep chocolate flavor that was accentuated by a little sea salt. 10/10. We then got to asking this man and his wife, the owners of the business, about wedding dessert options. They were incredibly patient and kind. Their cakes look amazing. All of the flowers on the cakes are sugar sculpted, apparently, which is even more astounding. They also said all of the smaller bites can be used to make a dessert bar. So we got to perusing the little displays. The mini cakes were $10, enough for at least 2 people to share. Because we'd yet to eat dinner, my eyes landed on the little dessert cups, which were $3.50. My fiancee and I shared the strawberry lemon one. It was sweet and lightly tangy. The jam was incredible, the cake was sweet, and the little bit of icing provided a touch of richness. We ended up fighting over the little cup. 11/10. We will be back.

We got three items. This little treat we split while I sipped my coffee. Regrettably it is the only picture I took.

Arrrgh! The food? FANTASTIC! No, seriously I'm old. Traveled some so I've had sweets, baked sweets on both coasts in the U.S., UK, Belgium, France, Germany, Switzerland Hong Kong just to start. This is top tier. We had three items and a breve. Fantastic. The person behind the counters knows and loves their product. This place is really fantastic! I would rate it higher if there was a way to rate a place higher! Sorry about a lack of pictures...the other items did not survive the trip home...but were not wasted! If you like baked sweets do not miss Sewell Sweets. My wife, no slouch at baking, was the most impressed I've ever seen. Ambiance? Bright and cheerful. It was enjoyable to sit in the window and watch the world, okay, a small bit of Salem, wander by.

Super friendly family fun. The best brownie I've had in a while! The perfect amount of salt on top

First time in today & it definitely won't be the last! Took hubby for a Father's Day treat. He ordered his normal breve latte which he said was excellent. I had a "Walk in the Woods", a blackberry/rose latte that had front notes of blackberry and a delightful finish of rose. The coffees were better than many we've had in Salem, and that wasn't even the best part. The real highlight is their baked treats! We ordered a chocolate mint brownie that had everything one hopes for in such a goodie as well as three tartlets- salted chocolate caramel, mixed fruit & raspberry matcha. All three packed a flavor punch in just a few bites. The owners are super & the service fantastic. You can tell they care about the customers as much as their products. Looking forward to going back & trying one of their signature fruit drinks soon!

Grab some specialty coffee from Storm coffee in town got in our car and headed down the road for a long road trip. Popped open the goods and immediately was met with disappointment . The raspberry tart was ice cold and hard maybe partially frozen? Likewise, the sausage turnover was very cold inside. Not sure if that's how they sell them. In my opinion they should offer to at least heat them up or warn the customer that they're not ready to eat. On the good side, the chocolate chip cookies were delicious. Unfortunately, we were too far down the road and did not have time to return. This is not a condemnation on Turner bakery because I've heard nothing but fabulous things but this was just our first experience unfortunately but we will be back but we will ask more questions obviously . Not sure if these are refrigerated from the previous day or night or they got that cold from opening till 11 AM when we picked them up? To readers just be sure to ask questions and if you think it should be warm, ask them to do so.

Service was quick and friendly. I went with a cinnamon roll, two plain bagels, and two cookies: one ultimate chocolate chip and one peanut butter. I also got cream cheese for the bagel. The cinnamon roll was huge, pillowy, and very delicious. It was a little light on the cinnamon for my tastes, but I would definitely get it again. The bagels were pretty good. Nothing amazing, but a solid bagel chewy texture with good flavor. The cream cheese seemed to be whipped, which was a thoughtful touch. The cookies were huge, and both had a nice soft texture and rich flavor. The ultimate chocolate chip seemed to have maybe a caramel swirl along with chocolate chips. Very decadent! And the peanut butter was rich and chewy, with good peanut butter flavor. This place is a bit of a drive from me, but I will definitely be back some Sunday in the future to try some more of their extensive and tasty offerings.

Their excellent variety of pastries, breads, and cakes make them one of the more standout worthy panaderias. This is as local as it gets. The shop caters to the local community in Salem, which is home to one of most underrated and budding Mexican scenes in the state. They have a fresh daily selection of various baked goods and pan dulce specialties. The shop is a bakery through and through, but also is a pseudo-convenience store. They also sell pre-bagged pastries, avocados, snacks, hot sauces, and drinks. Their conchas are excellent. I also really enjoy their bigotes, brocas, and chilindrinas. Like any good bakery, they also have special occasion cakes for sale, which can be customized if ordered ahead of time. Their Mexican king cake (rosca de reyes) Cookies and other flakey pastries, such as the abanico are often sold out before the day is over. Prices are not wallet breaking and the service is outstanding. Spanish is preferred and so is cash. There is no seating here, and it's never been so busy that I haven't had time to browse for what I needed. Parking is tight for a shared lot, but manageable overall. Anyone who is in the area and likes a good piece of bread(s), owe themselves a visit to Emilio's.
