One of the biggest issues I've noticed is the inconsistency in portion sizes. For example, cake slices are often cut noticeably different sizes from one visit to the next. When customers are paying around $8 per slice, there should be consistency so everyone receives the same value. Investing in a cake slicer or portioning guide could help solve this issue. I also recently ordered a 6-inch birthday cake for my daughter, and when I received it, it appeared to be barely 5 inches. To the owner's credit, they did reach out to me, acknowledged the issue, and provided a gift card to make things right, which I genuinely appreciated. Good customer service means a lot, and I want to recognize them for addressing my concern. Unfortunately, the replacement cake I ended up purchasing was disappointing. Nobody in my family was particularly happy with it, and the quality just wasn't what we've come to expect. Over the last year especially, it seems like the quality and freshness of the cakes have become inconsistent. Sometimes they're excellent, and other times they taste stale or simply aren't very good. Customer service can also be hit or miss. I've had some positive interactions, but there have also been times when the service felt less than welcoming. I am not writing this review to tear down a local business. In fact, I continue to support them because I know what they're capable of when they're at their best. However, consistency is important. Consistent cake sizes, consistent quality, and consistent customer service would go a long way toward improving the overall experience. I hope this feedback is taken constructively because I'd love to see the shop return to the level of quality that made me a regular customer in the first place.

If you're not able to make it out to this storefront, they have a booth at the Salem Saturday Market. It's worth paying $10 for 7 pieces of caramel. I was recommended to try the blueberry and pineapple so I bought some and gifted them to my family. The only flavors I tried were the coconut and original. Highly recommend both flavors! The crust was very dry, but the filling was delicious. My only complaint is the staff is not aware of the ingredients that are in the menu items. I first ordered some thing and told them I had an allergy to meet and they told me I was OK ordering the corn chowder. After taking a bite and getting an allergic reaction, they then check the book and find out it has bacon. There also was a cross-contamination with nuts. Overall, I would give this place 4.3 stars
