From beginning to the end of the project SFW was there ensuring their integrity and hard work/labor. Project Manager, Christian Miller was the first SFW team member I spoke with, Christian helped me understand how SFW worked and the scheduling process to start my first home project. Christian was very detailed oriented by explaining how labor rates work and mark ups for materials purchased by SFW. In addition, Christian referred me to their website for some special offers to purchase to help keep cost affordable - saving me some money in the end and I mean who doesn't love specials! SFW hires impeccable employees, displayed by Christian and even down to the scheduling Coordinator, Jessie Quick. Jessie helped me schedule when the SFW Team that would be at my house to start the project. Jessie was always on top of it, keeping me updated to when they had a crew available to start the project. Team Lead Supervisor, Landon Merrill led his crew with greatness and carefulness. Landon ensured me every step of the way, stayed on top of the project, and was respectful to my financial budget. I was in such great hands with Landon that it made the project smooth. Landon and his crew demolished my bathroom, cleared away all dry rot, and rebuilt the entire bathroom to my personal liking. Also, Customer Experience Manger, Jeff Harrington met any concerns and expectations I had with outstanding positivity and satisfaction. Jeff and Landon wrapped up the project great. We had Alex and Joey with us, daily, for over one month solid and found them to be so friendly, personable, skilled, fun and pleasant to have around. We never dreaded a single day of their work. I was initially really confused with the lack of 'estimate' as we're taught to get, but now totally understand. What I thought was one smallcorner of dry rot was actually over half of the house and a MAJOR repair/remodel due to really really incorrectly installed ornamental brick. They asked for more expert help when they needed it and were very conscientious of the ever changing budget and took a lot of pride in their work and doing it well. They offered suggestions when we were stuck on what to do and it felt like a real partnership. We have a giant Great Dane puppy which can make guests squirm but they were really great making the dog comfortable AND meticulously cleaning the yard every day to make sure it was safe for him after they left. Their scheduling was predictable and they did what they said they would 100% of the time.I don't think we're fussy customers, but the humility and respect shown by the crew would probably suit even fussy clients. We LOVE Joey and Alex and while we're so pleased the work is done, we actually kind of miss them. I got the referral from Angies List, but also consulted with my next door neighbor who used SFW a few years ago on a much smaller project who raves about the staff person who arrived at her house ready to work and she was unprepared in terms of selecting new flooring, etc. So the worker escorted her to Home Depot to get everything they needed. read more

Upon trying to sell our home late last year, we came upon some serious foundation/structural concerns with our house that we honestly had no idea existed. After taking a few months to chew on our dilemma and consulting with several contractor companies, my husband and I hired SFW for dry rot repair to one side of our home along with post and beam structural repair of our crawl space (which was extensive). Bryan Mullen, SFW's estimator, and Patrik Curtis, their Operations/Project manager worked closed with us to not only determine time frame and scope of work, but also with our budget constraints. Beyond that, however, several characteristics of this company stand out: they will not compromise the integrity of their work (i.e. it will be done right the first time); they provide extensive documentation via photographs, flash drives, contract documentation and reports to the homeowners; and finally, they continued to provide supporting documents and worked with us on concerns the buyer brought up during the final sale of our home. Great attitude ... willing to go beyond the call of duty. Completed the job on time and SFW left the place spotless when job was completed which was surprising because most companies we have worked with in the past have left horrific messes which we had to call to get picked up. The cost of a cleanup crew after a big job can run you another several hundred dollars ontop of what the work itself costed. sfw was Very straight forward and honest in their dealings. The whole crew was courteous/ no issues and problems for the few days the project took. Im sure it has in part to do with the time of year when the job was but I was surprised with how quickly I had a team out to work on the home. Only thing I wish was the cost associated with the work was less but I dont think I could have found a company willing to put in that level of work for a squeezed penny more. Dry rot is a horrible worry because you never know how far the damage has spread. We are thankful we have a team around to call upon when our rainy nw decides to wreak havoc on our siting again. read more

I have been working with theses guys off and on for the last 9 months and only have good things to say. First off these guys had no hesitation taking on a unique, multifaceted, and potentially complicated large renovation. Before SFW took the challenge, i had several contractors come out and as soon as they saw it wasn't easy money and might take some homework to solve they would split, not even try to help with a referral for someone that might be willing to take it on or have expertise in the area. SFW Construction has taking on repairing a "flat roof," Mold, water intrusion, leveling, raising door frames, siding, plumbing, and we still have more projects in the works. They have researched ideas and checked with other services like engineers at no extra cost. What projects they don't specialize in they found me top contractors who do and coordinated it so things could just get done without having to manage everything. this is a rip off company , they send ex cons to your house without any background check or drug testing , the owner itself is an ex con , also they have strange imagination about the business itself , they do everything in Time and Material, what that mean is that a 3 days of prep job with a 3 men crew will cost you a whooping 5000 dollars. How do they get the 5000 you might ask ? Well , 3 times 8 hours is 24 hours , 3 times 24 is 72 hours , 72 hours times 65 dollars is 4680 dollars, and to make it to 5000 they charge you with all kind of BS what they supposed to swallow like a trailer for two bags of trash, companies like this need to be pushed out of the industry, they are the typical trash that want to push all the expense on your head, from renting equipment to be able to do the job to the disposing of lead based trash, which by the way they just dump like regular trash at the cheapest dump , this whole company is basically a scam read more

My house is a local historic landmark in my heart. I have slowly been restoring it to it's former glory for more than 5 years. Early on in the restoration, I was hiring contractors for jobs and finding that not many of them care about restoration. Most contractors want to finish the job as fast as possible and move on. I live in a nice neighborhood, and started noticing that many of my neighbors were using cheap alternatives when it came to repair companies. After calling several references, I landed with sfw construction, I gave them there first job - dry rot repair. they did such a fabulous job, with such dedication to making the work authentic, I definitely plan on hiring them again in the future. Only concern like with any contractor company was I wished they were able to knock out big projects faster. I will take the quality of work over the hrly rate anytime though. read more

Recently I needed emergency work done on the flashing on one side of my house. It was windy and rainy for days and I had water pouring in one window. I assumed the window needed replacing. I hired SFW Construction, from a recommendation on Next Door. They were GREAT. They identified the problem which was not the window but rather incorrectly installed flashing when some new siding had been installed. They did a thorough, very professional job, documenting all the work with notes and photos every step of the way. They arrived by 7:30 every morning and cleaned up everything at the end of each day. I cannot give them enough kudos for what was a stressful time and could have been a sloppy, inferior, quickie job. But they were the so experienced and professional, keeping me updated and informed daily, resulting in an excellent job done. I highly recommend them. read more

I had cedar siding that was pulling away from the wall due to weathering and I feared there was water damage underneath. I had 3 companies come out to look. Each one gave me a very roundabout explanation and a bid. When Jay Reynolds at SFW came out, he said, "on jobs like this, it's impossible to know exactly how much work needs to be done until we remove the old siding and see what's underneath. You might have a big problem with mold and rotten framing, or you might just need new siding. So I can't give you a fixed bid. But we can do the work based on time and materials and see where it leads." That was the only answer I'd heard that made any sense at all. SFW did the work quickly and professionally, during winter wind and heavy rain. HIRE THESE GUYS and don't mess around with anyone else. SFW did an outstanding job. The guys were on time every day. worked all day and focused on the job. I have to tell everyone here that after talking to multiple contractors, I picked the right one. One of the contractors I didn't hire asked me "are you planning on selling the house anytime soon?" mind blown (They wanted to cover up the problem). Another contractor said they could do the job for about 1500 dollars. NOT! The problem i had was a giant window in a wall that showed water damage, and I knew the damage was severe. After I hired SFW they worked with me to find a day to start, and when they tore into the wall they found serious damage. All of it was fixed 100% including the house footer. WOW! nice work. When it comes to your home, don't settle. I'd recommend them and I'll be using them in the future for future projects. read more

I reached out to SFW to fix a dry rot problem around a window and decorative corbels outside my house. From the very start, they were professional and responsive to my questions and when they would be able to begin work. Upon review of my home, I was given a very honest best and worse case scenario with estimated costs. They clearly communicated the process they would take and once they were able to examine the damaged areas, they would contact me at work to review what they found. They provided options with associated costs for my decision. I couldn't have asked for a better process. I did not go with them for painting, only because I already had a painter. Jonah and his assistant did a fantastic job; my wife and I could not be more pleased! The repair involved what we thought was minor dryrot on the fasia board. However, shortly after repairs started, additional dryrot was found in the nearby roof sheathing. Jonah showed me the additional, unforeseen damage and gave me an estimate for additional repairs that I immediately approved. While at my house, both men were professional, polite, and did not waste time. When the work was completed, the area was cleaned up very nicely. I have kept SFW's contact information handy in the event any other similar work may be required in the future, and I would not hesitate recommending SFW to friends and neighbors. Had some structual issues with some bedrooms. This team was prompt, great communications and follow up. They even followed through to let me know of an issue with window work performed by another company (Dabella LLC / Alside) did when they did a project 2 years ago. The crew was clean, professional and very personable. I felt the work done was thourough and i was completely informed if every step. The project was more costly than i anticipated (as happens with homeowner work) but again a lot of this was attributed to also correcting the mistakes and errors from another contracted company. I will continue business with SFW. When an issue presented itself, the project manager was prompt with conflict resolution and even offered to personally help out on the weekend to make sure my problem was solved! read more

We've used SFW Construction several times and have always been very pleased with the quality of work. An example of the quality is in our house painting- we had our home painted by another company previously. The trim looked particularly worn after the first winter. Every time we've had the trim re-painted, it has not lasted longer than one winter before peeling, cracking, and generally looking terrible. Steve and his crew painted our entire home, including trim, after finishing some work and it still looks brand new years later. Steve was also able to repair a leak in our roof that we've had looked at by no less than 8 different contractors and "roofing specialists." This company is reliable and honest. I have used them for several projects at 2 different houses. They have corrected water damage in my roof and walls as well as many interior painting projects. They are very clear on what you should expect to pay and they accept credit cards. They are a large company but very personable. Jay (painting manager), even came to my house on short notice on a Sunday to help me after I made the mistake of using a friend's painter. The painter said he was going to use low VOC paint and instead used oil paint. Jay helped me figure out solutions to minimize the fumes and advice to seal it in. Every aspect of working with SFW was amazing. Christian responded to my online query quickly, and worked with me to get on to their very busy schedule. Once the start date was set up, the crew (Eric, Juan and Eli) got right to it and patiently fielded my questions (as well as my request to be alert that I have a cat and to please be aware and keep doors and windows closed). During the job, they would call out other small things that could use attention that they could take care of if I wanted them to. SFW wins top marks for communication and service delivery, from office staff to project managers to guys on the ground. We had them out to fix what we hoped was a small issue, but turns out to be much bigger. Noah, the lead here, was great about informing me all along the way of what he found, what needed to be done, sending pictures so I could explain to other members of the HOA what needed doing and why. They were prompt, effiecient, friendly, and do great work. They're coming back out to do the larger scale issue we found, and have again been great on communicating, letting me know what would happen, when, and following thru. I have had SFW Construction out twice for two different projects and found everyone professional and informative. I was consistently made aware of the issues that were the result of the builder. At no time was anytime wasted with the siding and roofing repairs. They were prompt and efficient. Bryan and Greg were our contacts. Both individuals are outstanding to work with. The estimates for the repairs were reasonable and at no time were we pressured to sign into a contract. Discussions were held and options mulled before the contracts were signed.
