My parents came here and had a horrible experience with one of the respiratory technicians not 1 time but 2. I initially gave them the benefit of the doubt the first time, but when it happened again, in Dec I was livid. I got on the phone after hearing what happened from my parents and my mom notably upset and tried to reach out to someone immediately. After some back and forth and people trying to avoid accountability and redirecting my phone calls like a bad game of ping pong. I was finally able to speak to a manager named Veronica and sent corporate an email documenting everything that Jamie did to create a toxic space for my parents that very day. I won't go into detail here, but they know what their employee Jamie did and it came out that this particular employee has a history of this sort of behavior. that is not acceptable, and she's lucky I wasn't there to witness it firsthand. When working in healthcare and dealing with a vulnerable population, it is essential all involved come with a level of professionalism, training, bedside manner and patience needed to effectively make sure these patients are properly addressed, treated and most importantly protected. If you cannot deliver on these basic descriptions then YOU DO NOT BELONG IN HEALTHCARE, NOR DO YOU BELONG WITH DEALING WITH PATIENTS! Period!! I made sure I came to the appointment with my father that week after making arrangements with Veronica and made sure Veronica from management knew I was coming and if that tech Jamie was there, hell was going to be made. She better hide, and I wanted another tech to see us. No exceptions. I can be the nicest person, kind, and forgiving. People have bad days, its normal. However when the behavior continues again, that becomes unacceptable to me. I have zero tolerance when it comes to mistreating others, especially my parents or anyone in a state of vulnerability. When that happens ;this healthcare professional becomes proactive and protective of all. I don't care if I look like a bad guy, labeled difficult or a karen. It's the right thing to do. She was conveniently "off" that day. Instead, of coming in hot, I came in cautious and was pleasantly surprised by the level of professionalism and attentiveness that our respiratory therapist Azita provided. Come to find out, she is part time. I wish she was full time Azita's patience with allowing my father and I both to have a safe space and allotted time to try to figure out what apparatus would work for both of us was extremely valuable. She was kind, she was patient, she was respectful, and she was professional. These are qualities that each member of healthcare should possess when dealing with patients in every sector. Whether it's in the hospital or outpatient. This is where the 2 stars come in. This review prior to our interaction with Azita would have been a -3. Let it be known that healthcare professionals ALL TALK TO EACH OTHER. If a facility that they send their patients to treats their patients poorly, you better believe that they will all hear about it and when the times come for contract renewals to come out, those facilities will lose money, lose their contract and will hurt their bottom lines and those Healthcare Professionals will send their patients to competitors . It is in their best interest for S&G HOMECARE to remove bad apples who are on their teams like Jamie that go against the value of the quality of care that patients are being given, and to bring in people like Azita to retain their branding and their clientele. The girls at the front desk like Arleen who were there that day I was there and the day my parents had their interactions are gems. I can understand trying to keep the peace when coworkers lose their damn minds, but let it be known, I take names, and i document. S&G i hope you addressed the issue at hand and keep better respiratory therapists on your teams who allow a safe space for all to visit. Speaking with other patients that day , it is ironic that at least 4 others also had issues with the SAME tech and had to come back again to the center 3x to get proper treatment. Haha... not the only one experiencing the sub level experiences posted here. Needed some wound care supplies for the surgical site following discharge from the hospital. They have only got 20% of the order right. We have been at them February to correct the supplies. For instance: requested-received for one month/30 days. Nitrile exam gloves- vinyl or latex gloves Waterproof tape- paper tape 1 roll Sterile gloves-one pair Sterile gauze- non sterile gauze. We've out of pocket the supplies from a local medical shop instead. This company is not capable of getting their ordering straight. Customer service is non-existent. The supply-side has their head somewhere that the sun doesn't shine. It takes about twenty four days to correct a shipping errors. Customer service calls take about fifteen minutes to reach somebody. Then they transfer to supply , which takes another fifteen to twenty minutes to reach somebody off shore in most instances. Mary was good at explaining what was happening with our order. Tip: make sure your doctor's office is very detailed in the reference code and description sent to them. Otherwise, you'll get the pickers interpretation of your supplies. My tip if $ possible: Skip this company and buy your own then be reimbursed by insurance. The headaches dealing with them is immeasurable. read more

If you find yourself in a predicament and have to do business with SG Homecare run the other way! I work in healthcare and deal with many fantastic companies. SG Homecare is pathetic. Whether it be waiting two months for a standard wheelchair and now going on my fourth month waiting for my electric wheelchair. They send me supplies for wound care even though I don't have a wound care for anymore. I keep having to call them every month and calling them is pure hell constant cold transfers, long wait times and employees that really don't have an idea what's going on. If you want to do what's best for you and your elder adult in your family ask your insurance company who else you can go through. They will make your and your family's life a living hell and hold your credit card hostage. Even having to come to their physical location in Tustin was very sad. Their customer service is lacking- left on hold for long periods of time and no one comes back- transferred and to the respiratory department and no one picks up there. I have to call multiple times to follow up on medical equipment shipments. I'm told that someone will call within 24-48 hours and no one does and I call back after a week. I'm told shipments are Tuesdays and Thursdays and it only takes a few days and then I'm told, that's not true. I'm told a therapist will call me back within 24-48 hours and leave a number to call back if I miss them, but that's not true either. What's the truth? This is about medical equipment and my health- it's ridiculous how stressful that make the process. I'm still waiting on equipment for 2 weeks- they said that they can't find the tracking number well, maybe that's because you never shipped it!!!! The therapists? Now called Stantz somethingorother, SG Homecare has been consistent in one thing and one thing only; terrible customer service. I've been a "customer" of theirs for years and it has regularly taken weeks to get a functional outcome after repeated calls to their representatives. Just today I've called five times, been dropped twice, and sent to voicemail twice, the second time when I asked for a supervisor. I require a CPAP for my sleep apnea and have now been prescribed a BiPAP since my needs have exceeded what the CPAP is capable of safely providing. As I've said, I've been at this for weeks. Yesterday I finally received notice that a shipment was on its way. Did I get my new BiPAP? No. I got a pack of supplies. A mask, a hose, an extra nasal pillow, and some air filters for my existing CPAP machine. As you can see from the other reviews, this company is atrocious and this kind of irresponsible behavior is contradictory to their proposed mission of providing life-saving medical products. We ended up cash purchasing my husbands CPAP last year, because our insurance changed and they were demanding the machine be returned while we waited for new insurance approval. So we bought it. I drove out today to get a replacement NOSE PIECE!!!! And they insisted on a new prescription. I told her I would be paying cash and not using insurance and she refused - demanding a script. Reading through other peoples reviews validates my experience with them. I think in the 3 years we have used them we have gotten one or two recurring orders correct. When you call the calls often get dropped. When you do get someone you feel like the call is just going in circles. Today I attempted to talk to the customer care team member but all she wanted to do was transfer me. I think their lack of urgency in shipping orders that have been: a) labeled "urgent" by the Dr., b) approved by insurance, and c) processed is negligible. Many times when I call to follow up on my order they will say "it looks like there was a problem with insurance but it is all clear now" and a week later "it looks like there was a problem with...." over and over. Question: If there was a problem with insurance why not follow up with me the insured or insurance. Instead they just let it slip by. read more

I was scheduled for an appointment to get a knee brace. I never received any communication like rescheduling or reminders of my appointment. The only message I received was to schedule my original appointment. It didn't even identify what the company name was. Only an address. I was 15 minutes away from leaving for my appointment when I got a call having to reschedule for 2 weeks because they didn't have the brace I needed and had to order it. Plus I had to pay for my portion of the brace during that call. It was a horrible connection was well with a felt of several seconds making me think no one was there and constantly talking over each other. This is the worst company I have ever worked with. I had a sleep study done three months ago, and I am still waiting for my supplies. They had strict instructions of where to mail them and they chose to mail them to the incorrect address. I have been waiting for my supplies for three months. Every time I call, I get a different excuse. They do not care about anything, except for collecting their paycheck They tell me they'll call me back after they speak to "leadership." There is obviously no leadership at that company.. I have never yet to receive a call back. Meanwhile, I have severe sleep apnea and they will not send me my Supplies until they can find the lost package which they sent to the incorrect address. This company is an embarrassment to be honest with you all. The service is nonexistent. They sent me tubes that I can't use with my son's g-tube so I haven't been able to feed him. Thankfully he eats by mouth as well but the supplemental tube feeds are necessary. i got hold of billing. They sent out an email to the supply team so at least one of their departments is doing its job (and apparently the supply department's job also). I'll update my review if I receive a call back. Otherwise, I'll be begging our insurance company to go with Shield. This company has been nothing but problems for years, but it's even worse now that SG home care has taken over. I am a physician and I am compelled to write a review of how incompetent this company is when providing CPAP care to my patients in San Diego. mailing a device to a patient and not providing any instruction on how to use it. I recently received a medical supply order placed on my behalf by SG HomeCare (also known as Stance Health Solutions). My wife is dealing with a stage 3 bedsore, so I trusted that the order--confirmed with a call and a paid $44 co-pay--was appropriate. Unfortunately, what arrived was a box of supplies better suited for treating gunshot wounds or ankle injuries, not pressure ulcers. To make matters worse, SG HomeCare refused to accept a return. So, now I have some excellent additions to my emergency preparedness kit--just not what I needed. Phone support involved painfully long wait times, though texting did get a quick reply... asking if I wanted to place another order. Lesson learned: Always verify what your PCP is ordering, and avoid SG HomeCare if you can. I'll take my next $44 to Walmart--where I can get six months' worth of the right supplies and still have change left over. Life brings enough disappointments; no need to add more by trusting the wrong provider. read more

I could go on about how it took four months to get my equipment--they don't answer their phones or return calls. I will tell you what I saw in their office yesterday. A man who obviously had mental challenges was talking to me in the lobby. He couldn't get anyone to answer or return his calls so he paid a taxi to bring him in (even though his food stamps weren't good for another week). Shockingly, I was proactively contacted by a staff member who told me my usual order was due to be refilled and the order placed with anticipated shipout a few days later....fast forward to 11 days later as I called to find out where my supplies were and the employee who finally answered the phone had to put me on hold multiple times only to tell me there was no available supervisor nor any notes about them calling me but finally she said "we're still waiting for the authorization" and instructed me to call my insurance and doctor. Once again, SG Homecare/Stance fails to communicate anything with their customers and requires the customers to do all of their follow up work. I should be reimbursed for all the work I do on their behalf. This place never fails to fail. I'm trying to make arrangements to pick up a home sleep test. I called on 5/16. After waiting for 10 minutes, I tried the other number for text messaging. I got a reply that my message was forwarded to the Respiratory dept. I got a reply on 5/19 instructing me on how to return HST which I'm yet to pick up. I followed up on 5/20 and today and haven't gotten a reply. Text messaging was supposed to ensure faster service. I wonder what their definition of fast is. Unfortunately, I feel stuck with them as this is my insurance's referral. I'll call my doctor to see if there are alternatives. read more
