Veggie and fruit selection
Alexa L.

Came in on a weekend and we were seated right away. They are family friendly as they entice parents with 1/2 price for kids under a certain height and 2 is free. We opted for the unltd AYCE with meat (I don't think we were hungry enough with the meats so if we come back I may opt for w/o meat. Their clams and shrimp were HUGE and fresh so that's a big plus and a major reason why we chose to come here. The place is also clean and brightly lit, staff refilled selections in the veggie/fruit section when deemed necessary. Mango sorbet was a hit with everyone and yes, if paying with cash, you get a slight discount.

Went to a different hot pot place tonight and what a good experience at Shabu House. Viewing from their broth options to the buffet options you browse after leaving the table. There are familiar ingredients we all see in usual hot pot places. At Shabu House, some ingredients went above and beyond on different items and were delicious to try or go back to get another plate. There is a fresh juice bar when you enter and view your options on the menu. Our waiter/different servers were all attentive and polite. Mango sorbet is free at the end of your meal. When you pay, there is a 5% discount if you use cash. We didn't have enough, next time we will know. Thank you for our good dinner experience.

Absolutely love this place! It was my first time here brought by friends who frequent the restaurant. The selection of meats, veggies, seafood & carbs were great. I tried their suyaki broth and it was so good and clean. The service was fast and very sweet! We stayed a bit past their closing and they didn't rush us out. The place is also huge so plenty of seating as well. The prices were reasonable and I would definitely come again & recommend it to others!

loved the experience and the food. esp when the weather is chilly its a perfect time for hot pot. we had a couple premium meats for the table and the selection of veggies and noodles was great. also the mango sorbet was yummy. i am def coming back soon!

There's usually a wait of 20-30 min at peak dinner time on weekends but it's so worth it. Very clean, spacious, and attentive service. Our server noticed our broth getting low and refilled them ASAP and was always on top of refilling our water and clearing away dirty plates. The self serve area is always well stocked and fresh with lots of variety!

This is the second time I've made the hour drive to Shabu Shabu House! This restaurant is definitely in my top three for hot pot. The space is large, so I was able to get seated right away. It's also very clean inside, with many staff members clearing tables promptly as each plate is emptied. The mala and miso broths are very flavorful! I wish I could mix the two in one pot. I like to order every meat except for lamb and tripe. All the meats are of great quality and incredibly tender--truly the freshest I've ever had at a hot pot restaurant. Their sauce bar also has many great options. There's a huge selection of fresh veggies, seafood, noodles, and more to choose from in their cold area. The veggies are particularly fresh, and there's always someone checking them for quality and making sure everything is well stocked. The mango dessert at the end is a perfect, refreshing treat to lighten up the meal. Our server had a big section and didn't come around often to check if we needed more broth, but it wasn't an issue because you can always ask a passing employee. I'm already looking forward to the next time I get to eat here!

Came here to celebrate my bestie's birthday. I've been to a few of these AYCE shabu places (Spring being my favorite) and this one was a bit different! They have an AYCE option with the meat and also an option without the meat. We opted for the AYCE with meat. When I started to get my shabu veggies, etc. I noticed this place has a much larger variety of dumplings, fish cakes and they even had seafood (clams, calamari etc) and a fried food section included! (This is when I realized many could do with just the base price) They also had interesting broths. The only thing I will note- is that for whatever reason when making my sauces, it came out sweeter than usual and I tried 3 times. Not sure what was making it sweet. I called ahead and they let me bring a cake and the service was good. We even lingered for a bit past the time and they didn't kick us out. Btw- note this is a BYOB joint! They don't have a liquor license, but will let you bring it in. Also, to finish they gave us this mango sorbet. It was really good and had real mango on top. This place would've gotten 5 stars if it wasn't so dang warm in there! They should make it cooler during the summertime. We were all sweating.

Just landed in new york after a red eye flight and decided to try this place. I love hot pot and i love all you can eat so what better way to start the vacation than a place like this. Staff was prompt and friendly and they had a wide selection of toppings to choose from for your hotpot. I loved the various meatballs they had to offer. wide variety of bases - ordered their hottest one on the menu and it was very good - perfect level of hot and doesn't have that MSG after taste. price for all you can eat is also fair for the quality of food you get.

All you can eat hot pot is ALWAYS going to be a good idea. Every hot pot place does it a little differently and Shabu House really hit the nail on the head. It's located in a strip mall, down a couple flights of stairs. All of the food to put into the broth is lined up against the back wall and let me tell you it looks like the produce section of a grocery store. BRIGHT and options galore. Ordering the broth and meat was a breeze through our waiter and came out very fast. The whole experience was amazing and I will definitely be coming back!

I came here because a friend's recommendation and to celebrate our wedding anniversary. This is my second time in a K-pot restaurant. --Customer service was more than excellent !!! Cheers -- you can find a humongous variety of vegetables, dumplings with any meat, noodles , etc. Our food was delicious. The pork and beef meats were super fresh; the vegetables and dumplings were, also.High quality on noodles and ramen.... --- the place is so big so the average noise still be ok! Our server explained patiently the way this type of korean restaurants works. She was very attentive to us all the time. The place is very clean! recommended Thank you and God bless you!!!

You cannot leave Fort Lee without a visit to Shabu House. With its everlasting "Grand Opening" sign, Shabu house is a hallmark destination for AYCE hotpot in the area. The quality and quantity of selection is amazing that leaves little to be desired. There is a wide range of broth selections ranging from tomato to miso to sukiyaki and more. The inside is wide open and high ceilinged--enough to keep a faint hotpot smell that doesn't stick too much to your hair and clothes. Servers come around regularly to fill up your water and broth so you'll never feel thirsty or hungry for more.

Shabu House is absolutely my favorite Shabu place in the area. They offer unlimited meat and you can't complain about the quality. Location: Shabu House is located in Fort Lee or just a short drive away from Edgewater and Port Imperial. Food: As you likely guessed from the name, Shabu House specializes in all things Shabu Shabu. They offer a meat buffet option which includes unlimited meat and access to the buffet, which is well stocked with an assortment of vegetables, small side dishes (tteok-bokki), and sauces to go with your Shabu Shabu. Service: We have been well taken care of every time we've visited. Price: At $37.99 for the unlimited meat buffet, Shabu House's price just can't be beat. Takeaway: A sure place to get your meat or Shabu Shabu fix.

Finally got to try this place I heard so much about on a Christmas day with wife because it was…read morefrigid and we wanted a warm bowl of Korean "tang"(soup). Finding parking is quite challenging given the location on a busy commercial street, so make sure you can come earlier than meal time to have better luck. They have waiting seats OUTSIDE so yeah I suppose it's quite popular at times. 1. ATMOSPHERE (3/5) - This location is small and it's pretty straightforward place. But I still found it cozy, with decent amount of seating (I think it can handle 15-20 max) and little details like wall with wood ledges and coat hangers were a nice touch. Seating was comfortable, though we tied our down parkas around our waist as another party had hung theirs on our side of coat hangers. 2. FOOD (4/5) - We dove right in to try their famous gejang (~Korean raw crab "ceviche") and ordered two of their namesake gookbap (rice with soup) to see how they are. Here's how it went down. - Gejang (App, $20, 2/5) - I had a hunch that on a holiday perhaps I should not order this, but my craving for succulent crab flesh be damned, I went for it and unfortunately, the meat was not well-marinated as I had feared. Gejang is a dish that has to sit in the complex soy-based pickling liquid for some time... and if restaurant is too busy churning them out or if it's slow season they won't do this properly. It not only wasn't fully marinated, I think the marinade was off because the spiciness was way out of balance and was overpowering. Perhaps knowing that it didn't have enough time to marinade the kitchen put extra diced jalapenos to compensate? Because that's exactly what it tasted like - you can't fool me. I tried to salvage the dish by asking a confused-looking girl server for some sugar, but yeah, can't un-do the overpowered marinade with sprinkling of sugar. This was really unfortunate as I was looking forward to a good bite. - Ahjae Gookbap (Main, $18, 5/5) - Thankfully, their namesake gookbap was spot-on to salvage our dining. Generous slabs of succulent beef on the bone and off the bone was swimming in a hearty beef/bone broth that tasted clean and focused. Portion was good, and can I say their banchan of fish cake moochim & unfermented kimchi & ggakdugi(radish kimchi) simply ROCKS? That was some serious deliciousness and dare I say value at $18 at a day and age where hamburger costs over $10! You win at life by ordering this! 3. SERVICE (4/5) - Our server girl was attentive and food came out early on though later it was a bit hard to get her attention promptly. We found ourselves putting hands in the air, and wavin' like we don't care... for a little while. They provide gloves & metal bin for gejang which was a nice touch for people to keep their fingers clean. One thing I'd like to mention: Plastic cup they served water in was all chipped on the rim so we instead went and got water from their hot & cold water dispenser which had metal cups (as many korean restaurants do). I'd suggest them to replace all these old plastic cups with metal ones for health reasons. Overall, we were satisfied with our meal. I'd chock up the gejang mishap to it being a holiday. I hope chef was just off with the marinade that day because I am a certified gejang pro(I catch and make my own) and that balance ain't it. But I will give it another try during warmer month and we'll definitely be back to try sooyook moochim, oyster jeon & other great soup offerings.

2nd time coming here. Small restaurant with a few tables. Thankfully when we came (Saturday…read moreevening), there was one table available and it was the same table as last time! Ordered three things: 1) marinated crabs, small size (5/5). Always a must-get here. 2) ddukbaegi bulgogi (4.5/5) - Thinly sliced prime marinated beef ribeye casserole with rice cake and glass noodle and mushroom served in a sizzling hot pot. Really flavorful and so good to have on a cold day. 3) ahjae ppyo jjim (4.5/5) - Braised prime beef meat bones in soy reduction with carrots, radish, dates, chestnut, rice cake and glass noodles. We got non-spicy. It came in a HUGE bowl. Definitely meant to be shared with a group. Took leftovers home and it was still yummy the next day mixed with knife-cut noodles I had at home.

That gave us enough time to have the place to ourselves and order literally everything they could think to serve us. This was easily one of the best KBBQ experiences I've had. The meat cuts were all perfectly marinated and grilled, from the Dry-Aged Pork Belly, to the tender Pork Jowl, to the juicy Marinated Pork Ribs. The Budae Jjigae was savory comfort, and the Shin Ramen Fried Rice was not only abundant, but served in an adorable heart shape. Even the Kimchi Stew and Gyeran-jjim were more umami than the countless counterparts I've had elsewhere. On top of that, we got more ban chan than an attention-starved halmoni hosting her first family reunion in 10 years. Everywhere I pointed my chopsticks, I touched food. It was delightful. Ooooh, it's been awhile since my last review…read more After 4 years, I still love Wooga but those "$$$$" on the their Yelp page keeps me from eating here more often. This time around, it's a stronger 5 out of 5 because of our waiter was amazing. Ugh, I can't remember his name. He was on top of everything and making sure our food was grilled in a timely manner. He was quick to follow up with orders/requests that didn't come through when the kitchen didn't bring them out. Usually my gripe or disclaimer I give to people is that Wooga is great at everything except wrapping up things on the end. In the past, whenever I went, it would take forever (!!!!!) to get our check and pay. It was so frustrating but this time around, it was a bit faster. It's a win-win situation because we get to pay and leave and the restaurant has another table for customers. Though on the pricier side, Wooga does check off all the boxes of: -amazing meat quality -amazing & attentive service -they don't skimp on banchans (side dishes that I heard other restaurants are starting to limit) -several meat combo options -best Korean steamed egg in the North Jersey area We tried the thinly sliced oxtails, which were really good but pretty pricey for $38cash/$39.90card for 11oz of it. There are some things that are inconvenient (long waits, very small parking lot) but it's easy to overlook them once you have a meal at Wooga. Things to know before you go: -Their menu is updated on their website if you want to check that out before you go. -The earlier you go, the better your chance of being seated quickly. Weekends are definitely a longer wait, so plan ahead. -Their parking lot is small so it fills up super quickly, so you'll have to park across the street and play Frogger (maybe you might be too young to know this reference?) to cross the 4 lanes of Palisade Ave. -When you arrive, make sure to check in with the host/hostess so that you could get a pager to know when your table is ready. Your turn can come pretty fast sometimes depending on the timing.

The USDA Prime Rib Finger and Pork Shoulder were both delicious, but I think what makes this Korean BBQ restaurant shine is their accompaniments. That was clear when the Egg Custard came and we devoured it immediately. So fluffy, very eggy, and extremely smooth. In other words, maybe the best version I have had along with Nubiani. The banchans and stews were wonderful too. I know they have a Midtown location, but I still have not been to that branch yet. I hope its quality and service matches this location. I'll check it out soon.

His hot tip: this restaurant is BYOB, so hop into the liquor store (inside the Hmart complex) next door to grab some soju and beer before settling in for some grilled meats. There are some plated dishes on the menu but with grill covers in the middle of every table, it's clear this is a restaurant meant for Korean BBQ. The pork belly was incredible with decent grill-kissed char marks. The marinated beef was tasty but a little tougher than I prefer. I love all the free side dishes that came with our meat orders, especially the soybean stew and towering egg soufflé. Service is brisk and efficient..sort of. This is the sort of place where servers hover with their order pads soon after you settle down, expecting you to just know what you want. Since this is a full-service BBQ, our server came around frequently to grill, cut, or flip or meats. After all was eaten and done, it become mysteriously difficult to flag her down for our cheque. A side note about ordering: there's a two-portion minimum for meats. My husband and I don't eat much so we thought we'd split a single order of pork belly, but our server insisted we needed to order at least two servings.

We have always enjoyed dining at Daeji Ssonday in Ridgefield, but the rude and unprofessional behavior of our waitress completely ruined our family dinner. We were seated at the table directly in front of the far back-right table (when looking from the counter). From the moment we sat down, the service was hostile: Aggressive Attitude: As soon as we sat, she demanded our order loudly. When we asked questions about the menu, she answered with visible irritation. While we were briefly discussing options with our children, she slammed her notepad onto our table with a loud "bang" and walked away, startling both us and our kids. Negligent Service: She continued to be rude throughout the meal, literally tossing side dishes onto the table. Furthermore, the exhaust hood at our table wasn't working properly, causing the smoke from the pork belly to fill the air and make it hard to breathe. She didn't check on us until much later. Ruined Meal Flow: While we were still eating our pork belly, she came over and--without asking--scraped all the meat onto a side plate to clear the grill for the spicy squid. We had to eat cold, greasy pork belly instead of enjoying it warm off the grill. She never even asked if we wanted fried rice afterward and ignored our table for the rest of the night. We always try to treat service staff with respect and gratitude, but this experience was unacceptable. Despite our polite demeanor, we were treated with zero professional courtesy. If the manager or owner is reading this, please look into the staff working that shift. This waitress needs serious retraining in basic customer service. It's a shame because we loved this restaurant, but after tonight, we have no desire to return.
