C1 and C7 combos. Comfortably fed 4 people!

I think this might be my family's new go-to spot for korean-chinese food! We used to go to this little hole in the wall place for yearsss until it shut down during covid. This place is also pretty tucked away inside a very unassuming mall. The food is excellent though. We get the C1 and C7 combos. I have to say you get a good amount of food too.

Life is short. F.....it up! Family, Flavor, Friends. on the way home, decided to stop by this place as it was highly rated for dinner. Very unique spot inside a little mall type plaza with other restaurants and stores inside with underground parking. This is your typical Korean fair and expected flavors overall it was good, but I guess through the reviews that expected more but good quality good large portions and tasty..

This is my official goto korean chinese restaurant now! Out of 10 or so korean chinese restaurant between pal park and fort lee this place has the best jjamppong.

All menus I ordered are very good and qualities are better than any other Korean-Chinese restaurants I had before so recommend to try theirs.

Went to Rahongbu Malatang for some dry pot on a weeknight for dinner. It's in the same restaurant…read moreas Hong Chun Cheon, which serves dakgalbi. The dry pot here is similar to others, where you serve yourself from a raw bar, the ingredients are weighed, and they cook it for you to the spice level of your liking. I don't like that noodles are charged separately from the weight of the other ingredients (vegetables, fish cakes, meat, etc.) Because of this, i almost opted to order one of the dakgalbi dishes on the menu for Hong Chun Cheon. However, the prices listed on the menu are for one serving. When i tried to order, the lady at the counter explained I had to order two order minimum. So the real price for one order of cheese dakgalbi is $51.90, not $25.95. This was annoying because I was the only person who wanted dakgalbi, which mean i ended up not getting it. I did get my dry pot though. They make it spicy just like everyone else. At about $16 per pound with separate charges for noodles, it's slightly more expensive than other dry pot restaurants in the area. I eventually wanna come back for the dakgalbi, but I'm gonna need to make sure i have a partner beforehand.

Upon getting a table, you can order either the mala options or the chicken bbq (닭갈비) options. If…read moreyou're getting mala, you can self-serve any ingredients you'd like - malatang was cheaper ($14.95/lb) than the dry pot version ($16.95/lb). There aren't too many options but still ample to make a delicious mala dish. I got the Malatang with the Medium level which was the best for me, although I was sniffling a bit towards the end. I think Mild is also a great option, as it was still flavorful with a slight heat. We had a bit of a wait on Friday night as expected but luckily, upon being seated it's just a matter of waiting for the kitchen to prepare your dish. They offered us complimentary sweet potato tempura on the house which helped curb our hunger in the meantime. There are only three people working front of house so please be patient!

The dining room was empty when we rocked up on a weekday late afternoon, and it was nice to sit at a table by the window for a street view. The staff was quick and efficient, and we got a super heavy tea pot of hot barley tea in no time. Food came out without delay. I love how theirs comes with loads of veggies, even as I question the use of green beans which is a first for me (to see them in sweet and sour pork). And while it was distracting and would rather have the dish without the beans, the star of the fish, the pork, was just right and we gobbled it up. I hope they stay open for a long time.

The noodle sauce is very heavy (I liked it), and the noodle texture is perfect. The portion of sweet & sour pork is small (I usually get 3-4 people portion, but this one is good for 2 people). Personally I like the other Palisades Park spots more. Tang Suyuk. Got a small order. Meat was a bit on the drier side, the battery was similar to sweet/sour chicken without the sauce. It was crispy at certain edges but mostly it was kind softer and doughy. That on top of the bland dry pork, meh. Jjajang. Wife got the spicy one. The heat was there but the sauce was not as thick as I'm accustomed to nor was it as rich. The stir-fried pork was abundant but the sauce was definitely on the sweeter side. Felt a bit too thin on the sauce and not quite the addictive flavor that you'll find yourself shoveling in mouthfuls of noodles non-sotp. Jjampong. I opted for the one with the brisket. A decent amount of seafood but the brisket tasted just kind of boiled. Not really charred on the edges like a proper chadolbaegi would be. Basically this should be almost like beef bacon with the fatty band rendered out kind of crispy. The seafood and veggies didn't really have that bulmaht (wok hei, whatever) that you expect. The broth was not too oily but was just lacking in that rich smoky flavor I'd expect. Maybe things will improve in the future but more than likely I'll end up at one of the local favorites if I'm craving something like this.

May I say that Mugeog Jjamppong is arguably the best Korean Chinese restaurant in the Palisades…read morePark/Fort Lee area? My family decided to try it out after seeing an advertisement in one of the Korean newspapers, and we're definitely glad we did. We picked up an order for seafood chadol (brisket) jjamppong, the signature Mugeog (meaning "unbeatable" or "invincible" in Korean) Jjamppong, and jjajangmyung. It's difficult to find chadol jjamppong in the States, even in the Palisades Park/Fort Lee area, so I was pleasantly surprised to see it on the menu and have it be as tasty as it was -- there was a nice balance of seafood and chadol, and there were more than just a few sad slices of brisket, which is what I have normally found on the rare occasion that chadol jjamppong was on the menu. Jjajangmyun was tasty, albeit a bit salty, but the restaurant gets a slight pass because the noodles for all three of the dishes that we had were excellent and it markets itself as a jjamppong place, not a jjajangmyun place. And believe me when I say the signature dish deserves its "unbeatable/invincible" title as the soup contained SO MUCH seafood, including pieces of crab and a huge shrimp. There was so much seafood in the soup that the amount was enough for two people. (See the photo of the jjamppong take out containers for comparison.) In addition to the taste, the prices were also excellent -- we paid a total of $37 ($8 + $14 + $15). The restaurant recently opened in March so it's just approaching the six-month mark. I have seen many restaurants that do well in the beginning but fail after a year or so because they become too lax with taste and greedy with prices. Hopefully, this restaurant will stay true to its roots and remain consistent. My family is looking forward to trying more dishes, such as the sweet and sour pork, so we will be returning soon -- and at which time I hope to not write an updated review reneging on my 5 stars.
