This is a dual-review for the Shack in O'Fallon and the Shack off Clayton Rd. You can't beat this food for breakfast. I would eat here every morning if I could. Every thing I've tried on the menu is worth 5+ stars and I'm committed to returning until I've tried it all. If you're going to go out for breakfast, and you want more than the same eggs you can make at home, then visit The Shack. Plan on it being crowded and take the time to enjoy the people around while you wait. Or if you're able to go as a party of 1-2, then you may be able to grab a quick seat to eat at the bar. Same food, excellent service and you won't be disappointed. read more

The manager greeted us at the door and put us at a near by table that he knew would accommodate one person on a walker and one with two canes without having to walk far. Phillip greeted us as our server and from then one we wanted for nothing. He was friendly, efficient, attentive and very knowledgeable. The food at this place is very good. The only negative is that hash browns are usually very greasy. Service is good and staff is friendly. I have been here several times and I try to go during off peak times. Service is slow when they are busy. But, the price and quality for the price is outstanding! This is place is fantastic!! Starting with their coffee...I'm a bit of a coffee snob and it's the best! Not too strong, not too weak! Perfection! My son LOVED writing on the wall and went all out drawing Iron Man and rocket ships. :) They gladly gave him an unlimited amount of sharpies and he went to town! I choose the Shack Madam and my hubby got the Strawberry Banana Waffles! My little got the chocolate chip pancakes! All very good, all very filling! Biscuits at $2/biscuit is a bit pricy. Usually the food here is exceptional; however, today, the chicken seemed to have been cooked in a crockpot and there was a ton of chicken fat on my chicken nachos. The eggs were rubbery. Went to breakfast yesterday at the shack with my kids and a few friends. This was our first visit here and we will be back whenever possible. Our server Shelby was great! Friendly, attentive and easy to talk to. We never had to ask for refills, Shelby was on it! The food was just as great as the service. I highly recommend the Mercia french toast. The best breakfast and brunch hot spot around this part of town! The menu is expansive with plenty of hearty, not worry about your figure meals, but also a generous amount of healthier options that all sound delightful. We have already come back to The Shack a few times since our first visit. Very kid friendly. Love that they always offer you a to-go tea or coffee or soft drink when you're about to leave. I loved this place! We had a bit of a wait because it was Good Friday; but, it was well worth the wait. Our waitress was friendly and very accommodating to us. Went for Sunday brunch 10a, the wait was 45 min. Typical for the Sunday brunch crowd. I had the Why the French Hate Us - huge croissant stuffed with 2 huge sausage links, smothered in gravy, and sprinkled with cheese - side of hash browns. Very tasty, but there was no way I could eat all that food. My husband got the meatloaf breakfast?! Meatloaf wrapped in bacon with eggs and hash browns. He cleaned his plate, must have been good. Also got a waffle to split between us and it was amazing. I will try the chicken and waffles next time we go. Good stuff! read more
