I was in town for the holidays and met a friend here. It was my first time visiting this establishment, there's outdoor seats and plenty of spacious seating inside with cool decor covering the walls. Our server was amazing, very friendly and had no problem answering a few questions we had. We both ordered the Country Fried Chicken with Scrambled Eggs, Country Grits (one Cowboy and one with Cheddar Cheese), and I had the Biscuit and my friend had the English Muffin. The chicken was so good, the crispy breading was seasoned and cooked perfectly and it wasn't drowning in sausage gravy which I appreciated. You could tell that everything was cooked from scratch and the portions were big. I really enjoy my meal and I will definitely come back when I'm in town. read more

We normally get waited on promptly every where we go. This was not the case at this specific location. The waitress was seen talking to some other customers who got there after us and she was still talking to them as if she knew them. This was going on for a good 15-20mins. They were not busy. I finally got up to tell someone that we were not being waited on and that we have been sitting. The guy told the girl. She finally comes over doesn't even apologize for the wait or anything and says her name is "Ava". The floors were also not clean at all. There were about 3 workers up front not doing anything. Once we got our food, the girl who brought my plate gave me the wrong order. Then came back with the correct one. Needless to say we do not live close to this specific restaurant. The service was good but, I can't say the same for the food. The eggs were precooked as well as the bacon which made them dry and hard. The sausage was most likely precooked also but, it was soft enough to eat and it did have a great flavor. The strawberry lemonade tastes like it was shipped in a plastic bag. My sweet waitress switched it out for orange juice. If I return, I will try their biscuit or pancakes and stay clear of the eggs and bacon. read more

This is my favorite breakfast place! The food is consistently good; I love the breakfast potatoes, and obviously their biscuits are the best. Their "Western Soda" menu is cool, and I'd like to try one out sometime. The service is always good here as well; the staff is very friendly. We've been here quite a few times before, but today was particularly busy. We had a baby with us and sat at two small tables pushed together. We were then told they needed to take a table in case a group came in. So there were two of us and a baby at a very small table while three tables sat empty near us the entirety of our meal. We made due, but had to place items from our table on the bench in order to fit everything on the small table. Food was as expected and quick. Before we were done or even getting up, we heard several times servers being told to move our table for others. The host told customers waiting that as soon as we left they would could have our table. Felt like we were being rushed out and not given time to finish. Will elect to go elsewhere next time. read more

DO NOT COME HERE!! They told us we had a 30 min wait and we ended up waited by for over an hour not including the extended amount of time we waited on our food. Even though the app said we were next in line they let 4 tables in front of us. Finally they brought us 2 plates, one was incorrect and those were finished before they even brought out the other food. Not to mention those orders were all biscuits which is what they are known for! When we told them the situation they shrugged it off and said they were in a rush. Never returning here. read more

I was really disappointed with my visit to Big Biscuit for dinner. The food didn't have much flavor, and everything tasted kind of bland and thrown together. For the price, I expected something fresher and better prepared. The service also felt slow, even though the restaurant wasn't that busy. Honestly, I'd rather go to Denny's or IHOP. I was impressed with this place when it comes to flavors and overall plating! The chicken fried steak was perfectly crispy and the gravy had a great savory flavor. Not too much or too little of it either! I asked for extra icing on the sticky biscuit and this was great, but honestly I could have used more. The biscuits are thick enough a lot of bites are just plain bread which is not my jam. The icing and the outside (coated layer) of the biscuit tasted great! We got on the wait list within 10 minutes so overall a quick turnaround and we barely waited for our dishes despite being a group of 6. A friend from work invited me to breakfast and suggested Big Biscuit. Although I have a few other favorite breakfast and brunch spots in town, I pride myself on being easy to schedule with, so I took him up on the offer and popped into this location for the first time! My expectations were somewhat low, due to a very "meh" experience at another location long ago, but that was all quickly avenged when I stepped in and was greeted by a lovely, clean space and a warm, welcoming host who walked me to a table, while asking about my day so far! That exceptional service was maintained by our awesome waitress and server while we dined! Our waitress was exceptional, especially for this level of eatery. She answered all our goofy dietary questions, walked us through the menu, recommended some favorites, and just when I thought I'd come up with a request that would surely be rebutted with a "sorry, we can't do that," and a scowl, she smiled and said, "no problem!" When the food arrived, it was PERFECT, and just as I had asked! While that may seem an obvious chain of events, it has, unfortunately, become the exception at most places, especially when there is any special request. Not here! Our waitress and the cook at Big Biscuit hit the nail on the head, and the meal was wonderful! And, what about the famous (infamous?!) biscuits from the name on the store? Yup - they're pretty darn good, and are also fairly big! I recommend! The place has plenty of indoor seating and limited patio seating. Parking is abundant. For an open concept restaurant the Boise level is lower than most places. Family orientated. Large menu to choose from. My breakfast potatoes could have been cooked longer. Everything else was of good quality. The coffee is average compared to other breakfast places. Here is our experience with Big Biscuit: Customer Service: 8/10 I find customer service to be hit or miss whenever we come for our quarterly visit to this location. This time, we had a good experience. Our server was very sweet and attentive. She was not pushy and did not rush us out once we were finished. I find that the hostess needs some work. Diversity: 9.5/10 Kudos to the manager and staff at this location. They have a good amount of people from different cultures working, which was a delight to see. I also saw a lot of teamwork and communication among the staff, which is a plus. Food: 9/10 Both hubby and I got the Belgian waffle platter. It was a hefty portion. The waffle was crispy, light, and airy with just enough powdered sugar. The syrup could have been warmer, but it was not a deal breaker. The breakfast potatoes were seasoned well and the bacon was cooked nicely. I just wish there was more of it! I also got a hot chocolate which was really good but it had too much whipped cream for me. I do think the food is a tiny bit overpriced, but for $30, it's cheaper than other breakfast places in town. Location: 7/10 Admittedly, Olathe can do better on restaurant selection. I do feel neighboring cities like Overland Park and Lenexa have better eating options, especially for breakfast and brunch options. Sometimes you want something that is more than your standard fare. I do enjoy mom and pop shops for breakfast, but I am also hoping we get a Snooze or Another Broken Egg at some point. That said, Big Biscuit is a decent option. Overall: 8/10 BB is always solid and consistent. We have not been disappointed with this location and always leave satisfied. If you are wanting something more trendy, First Watch may be a better option. For a more upscale atmosphere, you'll have to travel to OP for Another Broken Egg or Snooze. read more

Was extremely slow with it. Painfully so. Asked for milk to come out with meal. Milk immediately came out. No big deal. Wait for food was a little long, but not unreasonable as they were busy. When the food came out my order was completely wrong. Didn't ask for anything special other than milk with food. Everything else straight off menu. Manager came by (not my request) and asked if there was anything she could do to make it right. Felt like she wanted me to request that the bill be modified. I didn't. Felt super odd. We have been to Big Biscuit before just not in Olathe, KS. This experience was better service and food. The gentleman that helped us was super friendly, quick and efficient. I had pancakes that are huge and tasted like cake, very tasty. Spouse had the chicken friend chicken and it was good. The biscuit was a little over cooked and needed to be softer, sausage gravy was good but would like to see a little more sausage. Granddaughter had the tenderloin, HUGE and tasty with fries We had a sticky biscuit that was really good. She also had the peach tea that was really good and peachy, plus it didn't taste fake like some fruit teas. Would comeback again and you should try as well. read more

Nice local restaurant (by local I do mean relatively small franchise and not a big nationwide group). I knocked off a star purely because of COVID considerations: The restaurant was packed, which I didn't care for. And another pet peeve related to COVID is (understandably) not having salt/pepper/sauces on the table but not being offered any salt/pepper/sauces when the food is served. I don't know about you, but I can't eat an egg without at least a little pepper. Anyway, that annoyance aside, my breakfast was delicious. They also aren't joking when they call this place "The Big Biscuit." The biscuit was as big as my entire hand - not at all dry, fluffy and tasty. Holy yum. Eggs and bacon were standard good, but the biscuit was the star of the show. Would I go again? YES. Definitely. Came early afternoon for brunch on their patio. Porch is pet friendly, ps! Opted for their turkey fetish omelette, and a coffee. They don't have iced coffee but they were happily able to provide a glass of ice for me to cool the coffee down. There were less than 10 tables total on the inside and outside, so our food came out in less than five minutes. Everything was fresh and really delicious. We came in first thing the greeter was disrespectful joined the waitlist and then some how got bumped down to 5 in line. Family headed to the big biscuit in Olathe on Mur-Len rd. after Easter mass last weekend. We used to go there pretty regularly but with so many good breakfast options in the Olathe/OP area it had been well over two years since our last visit. The inside is very spacious, has a good size outside patio to seat guests. Has a good vibe overall with some TV's playing sports round the clock. Our waitress was super nice. We had another family with us so she made sure that she had all of ours correct before putting them in. I got the bigger big breakfast. I decided on getting extra bacon instead of the ham steak, eggs scrambled, potatoes, biscuits and gravy. While my meal was good and the amount given for the price was fair my biscuits and gravy was barely lukewarm. Some of it was even cool so not sure if they plated it and just left it out or what happened but getting anything but hot food is a no go for me. By the time I had even dug in on the B&G I was already full so didn't bother to ask for a replacement. My son got the cinnamon roll pancakes. They are massive! Great portions for a good price. They were so delicious. Flavor was excellent! The big biscuit is a solid option for breakfast in the area especially given their prices. However, with so many other great options it is hard to envision us going back anytime soon. read more
