It was a real leap of faith to book her and I'm so glad I did. She was communicative and clear about her pricing, and offers her services at a great value. I didn't even have an idea of how I wanted my hair but I showed her a picture of my dress and she crafted an elegant but breezy and sexy updo that matched the bayside setting and my backless dress. Heather and Tiffany helped me feel extremely at ease during my initial bridal trial, and I could tell instantly that I was working with the highest-quality hair and makeup artists San Diego has to offer. Heather tried out 3 different hairstyles with me, and Tiffany knew just what to do with my makeup even though most of my answers to her questions were "I don't know, I don't really ever do my makeup so I don't know what I want." They traveled up to our wedding venue in Temecula on our wedding day to transform myself, my four bridesmaids, and my mom and mother-in-law into princesses and queens. Heather did an amazing job with my hairstyle and accessories (and it stayed up through all of the jumping and dancing I did at the reception!), and once she showed me the finished result, I couldn't believe it and said "Wow! I didn't know I had so much hair!" Tiffany did a wonderful job with my makeup and telling stories and chatting with me to help calm my nerves before the first look. They make it a fun experience with awesome music and conversation. On top of that, they really know what they're doing! The wedding was vintage themed, and they nailed the 40's makeup and hair styles like no other (very difficult!). The up-dos were absolutely gorgeous, including my bridal side-do. Woo! I'm the first to Review! I found Shade and Strand on the Wedding Wire App at the end of last year. Rachel (hair and makeup artist) has been an awesome person to work with! I had my makeup and hair trial in January right before I took my engagement photos. Being an indecisive person, I didn't have much direction, but Rachel was able to make me feel beautiful. She is so positive and a great person to work with and she is good at her craft. Later that year in May, I was able to meet Tif (makeup artist) who did my makeup for my Bridal Shower! Let me tell you, I felt so beautiful. She's really good! Both are so easy to talk to and are willing and open to your suggestions, wants. and needs. Then had them come to my aunts house to get my bridal party ready my big day! All in all, I give them 5 stars because of their craft. They are down to earth, mothers, who are making life work!
