This place was top five for me in the 808. It was empty on a Saturday night, and then started filling up after 7:30pm. The bathroom is outside the front door to the back of the restaurant- a door leading to the kitchen, then a sharp left to the potty. I had the chicken katsu ramen and it was gigantic filled with broth, bamboo, bok Choy, corn, and seaweed. The service was great and I would return to try more items.

Noodles, katsu and char siu so thick, you won't need to eat anything else! Located conveniently in Aiea off of Moanalua Rd, they offer the best broth you could ask for in a ramen. We had tan tan ramen that hit just the right bit of spicy. The tonkatsu ramen was pork centered and delicious. Their servings are plentiful and side orders like gyoza are also wonderful. Ambiance is bright and fresh. If you're in Aiea, you've got to go here for ramen.

Located next to youngs kalbi in the strip mall across Mcdonalds. Parking is odd because it looks like free parking but you have to scan this QR code and enter your license plate to me its more bs. first 2 hours free then it $5... really wierd. Okay so anyways Shaka ramen is on the corner The insides is airconditioned and clean with around ten 4 people tables. Bathroom is outside around the back of the building. The menu (pic) is your typical ramen house fare ramen..curry rice dishes..fried rice...etc The presentation was awesome!! Aestethics was so nice it looked fake. Food was good with fare portions and affordable pricing. Staff was just one waitress for the whole dining room...she was all business but got the job done. If you ignore the tarded bs parking this place is a definetely great place no regrets here.

My husband is into a ramen crave lately. Maybe he's pregnant. Lol... So on yelp he saw this place in Aiea use to be Daiichi ramen. The server was friendly and to check up on us asking if we ok. I ordered the Zaru udon and my husband ordered Wakame ramen. We also had side gyoza. My udon was alot and the dipping sauce was good. My husband wakame ramen was good soup base he said the soup base wasnt what he expected. If you aiea check them out. Close to Youngs kalbi lower part from aiea shopping ctr.

Shaka Ramen was my choice for lunch. Had a craving for noodles. Decided to try Shaka. The dinning area is very spacious. The service was excellent. Our server was cordial and friendly. When I paid she gave my wife and I a senior discount. I ordered the Wakame Ramen. The broth had a strong wakame taste. YES wakame is seaweed. I thought it was stronger in flavor the other ramen shop's.

Food and portions are good. Their price is also not bad. My kids always enjoy eating here.

First time for my wife and I, tried the takoyaki and mochiko chicken curry with fried rice! Wife got the mapo tofu on crispy noodles and chicken skewers. Takoyaki came out and I thought was gonna be piping hot...IT WASNT! but it was redone for us and was way better! The portions are huge and I didn't make a dent in my plate. Service was fast and friendly. The ambiance has loud thumps from time to time because they have a gym above this restaurant! lol so don't be startled like I was as I thought someone was coming thur the roof!

OK! UPDATE: 1/15/26! THIS PLACE HAS LAKSA! And A New-ish Menu... This Place Needs A Re-Visit From ALL OF YOU! lol. I've been here about 3 weeks ago and notice the change in management. The Interior changed. Then, I come here today and the menu changed ever so slightly with one BIG change to my taste buds! LAKSA!!! Probably my favorite type of Noodle Soup. This Creamy Coconut Brothy Goodness Is Everything.

Highly recommend!!! One of the best no-frills ramen spots on island. Super quick, super big portion sizes, and very nice people.

Ordered Spicy Beef Ramen and a side kimchi. Was the perfect order for the weather. The food came out fast and everything tasted amazing. The service was great and did I mention how good the food is here? The portions are huge so I took some home for later. A bit out of the way for me, but I'll for sure be coming back soon!

Classic menu offers choice or type of noodles either ramen or udon. There's also combo sets, appetizers, fried rice, curry, soups, salads, and kids menu. Black Garlic Ramen broth tasted rich in flavor. Noodles tasted on the lighter side. Few large pieces of char siu, a whole boiled egg sliced in half, kamaboko, some green onions, and generous amount of bamboo shoots. Customer service was on par. Server was attentive, provided ample napkins, and refilled our waters. Lots of tables with chairs. Free parking in Aiea Town Square.

Clean neighborhood ramen joint. If you're in Aiea and you want a quick bite; this is a good place to start. Don't let the simplicity of the ramen fool you; it was flavorful. Hubby liked the fried rice and mochiko chicken. Service was good. Like I said- no fireworks but a nice place to grab a hot bowl of ramen or curry and other fried delectables.

The process is, you'd put your name down, party size, and then take a card and write down what it has(that has a number and letter for example), when they're ready for your party they will just announce the card you wrote down and took. It took a second for us to be seated. Maybe like 15-20 minutes, we were exhausted by this time so time felt extra slow. Once we were seated I ordered the chicken katsu curry udon with the katsu on the side. It was pretty good. This is my go to order here. The portions are large and the udon is very satisfying to eat. Although the curry is lighter (since its supposed to be like a udon dish), it was still very good and the curry has small pieces of chicken inside which was pretty good. The chicken katsu on the side was a good choice as usually when it's served together, the katsu gets soggy from the broth. I would recommend gomatei (either town or pearlridge location, i've never had kahala) for a quick and recently affordable bite.

Good thing we went early; there were people already lining up at the door. By the time everyone was seated, the restaurant almost full. Within half an hour there was already a wait list. The service was friendly but a little slow and distracted, I think because of the huge influx of people all at one time. I stuck with my usual Tan Tan Ramen. FPO had the Cold Ginger Chicken. For the table we also got Gyoza and Popcorn Chicken. It didn't disappoint. Everything I remembered! The restaurant was bright and happy-looking, and sounding. A loud group of people enjoying good food and company. It was a very enjoyable lunch.

Hubs had a won tun ramen and I got the mochiko chicken curry udon- oishi(delicious), flavorful nice and hot. The noodles were cooked perfectly. I gave hubs my mound of bean sprouts and he ate all my mochiko chicken even the cabbage beneath except one piece. We didn't order any gyoza today cuz we can't have any left overs by tonight. Small, satisfying restaurant shows it's been around a long time. There is one tell tale sign giving that away. Three employees were visible and perhaps were there long enough to perfect their separate duties to be able to turn out meals so tasty quickly. As I sat at one of the tables waiting for my order, I felt so "unclean" looking at the floor especially. The whole place felt unsanitary. Looks like personnel changed. Saw just one cook (no apron on) and a waiter who also rang me up. I did stop in real quick a few weeks previously to inquire about gift certificates. I saw the same two guys. Service wasn't enthusiastic or welcoming but he wasn't rude. The waiter patiently answered my questions about prices and portions. He apologized because what I ordered wasn't what I got. It may have been partly my fault for not being clearer - and he not repeating the order. I placed another gyoza order and waited again. The place wasn't as busy with only one couple at the table. Not sure when I'll go back again. Might take awhile to overlook what I just experienced.
