Bummer that everything thing was horrible even the shake . I'm not sure how this place stays open.

Me and my husband went here because we do go occasionally just due to the fact it can be rather expensive and that the location is kind of sketchy. While we were in the parking lot we happened to have picked a spot across from the glass door when a rather larger man with grey hair comes out of the door point and signaling at us to shoo, we did have intentions of paying and even buying a milkshake from there but after the large man signaled us to go it ruined the whole mood, I will admit that we were showing a little PDA but nothing that excessive truthfully just kissing. Yes! Some people may not want to see that but shooing us off is completely unprofessional and disrespectful, if you don't like it look the other way. I am unaware of if this man worked here or not but if he didn't I wouldn't imagine him causing a scene to shoo us off if he was just a regular customer and with that if he isn't an employee or of higher status the actual employees should have discouraged his immature behavior. Along with this the place is overall ghetto and run down appearance wise. I wouldn't really recommend to eat here Dutch or Swig might be more expensive but sometimes things cost more because it's better and this is the case for this scenario. The flavors also get a tad weird and if you get something with fruit (ex: apple pie) they will give you 90% fruit and 10% shake along with that the fruit pieces are slices and are big enough that you can't get it through your straw so if one happens to get under your straw you better prepare to suck like you're attempting to steal the soul out of an innocent human being, truthfully it does hurt when that happens and they could take far more precautions to make sure that this does not happen. prioritizing consumer safety has to be the number one care for companies I buy from and just by this little small neglectful detail it makes me feel like they don't really care about the satisfaction of their product and rather have a "if it can be eaten it's good enough" attitude which is completely unacceptable to my standards so if you ask me no, me and my husband will not be ordering from here again and we advise you do the same. read more

Worst. Service. Ever. Must be new management. More worried about receiving tips than providing good, quick customer service. Strike 1: opens at 11we arrived at 11:30 and door still locked. Strike 2: Once our order was taken, none of the THREE employees Evan started to make it for almost 10 minutes. We were the ONLY customers there--in the building or in the drive thru. Strike 3: instead of making our milkshakes, the boss lady reenacts a 'purchase' with the other two, with an example of how to handle a customer who gives them a $100 tip. The prices are a little steep, and it took a long time to get my food. Maybe they should renovate the place and add on. Or relocate to a bigger spot. Please hire more people and take care of the workers you have. I witnessed a manager yelling at poor girl employee, why couldn't this had waited till customers were gone? Ordered a bacon cheeseburger and mozzarella sticks through the drive thru recently, very disappointing. I received a cheeseburger that had no cheese on it, bacon was very undercooked and the only other topping was lettuce. Mozzerlla sticks were consistent but came with no dipping sauce. read more

This is place used to have a sign in the window saying something like "it may take a little longer because it's made to order". THAT I don't have a problem with. What I DO have a problem with is 25 MINUTES!! During this wait, one waitress brought me my drink & said "Pepsi, right?" Then, about 5 minutes later, then she comes back & asks what I ordered! I had already been sitting there for 15 minutes. THEN, another one came to the window with 2 shakes & asks me if I ordered 2 shakes! The guy in the car behind me backed up like he was going to leave (he hadn't paid yet & I wouldn't have blamed him one iota!) I should have asked for my money back & drove to North Blue Lakes to get something, I could have gotten it quicker. Food isn't worth the TIME OR MONEY!!! UPDATE: on 6/01/24 I went back to this hellhole at the request of my son. I pulled in to the drive-thru @ 1:15 pm. FINALLY left @ 1:50 pm!!!! Had a meeting at 2:00 & couldn't call the place until 3:00 pm to let them know that I didn't even receive my full order. The longer wait for a made-to-order meal only becomes a stacked feature of disappointment if the customers end-experience isn't memorable. The wait would have been better served to just patronize a sit down restaurant where a true burger could be made-to-order. After taking my first bite, I was wondering where my Swiss was in my Swiss burger. Quality was severely lacking and quantity certainly didn't match the price point. The canvas looking banner menu that overlays the old menu is too hard to read. Ambiance overhaul would be a great place for new owners to focus on. This place does not disappoint if you are looking for a true drive in burger and shake place. New owners and the service is great. We have tried many items on the menu from a regular burger, chicken strips, fries and onion rings. All exactly how you want them. A little greasy, hot and tasty. The shakes are thick and creamy. My favorite is the blackberry. But transitional chocolate and the Oreo are also family favorites. They have said they may change the menu up as they navigate but if the standard items are this good I am sure the newer items will be as well. read more

My experience today was not like my experience in the past. I don't know if the quality is changing, but the service wasn't that great. We were pretty disappointed in the food as well. I have been there before, and really really was impressed. The ranch dressing didn't taste very good. Apparently they buy it from Costco. I thought it was homemade last time I went there about a year ago, but apparently not. I gave her back the three out of four containers that she gave me and she threw them away. I felt bad, but I didn't like it. I think the person at the counter was stressed out because they were not very friendly. They tried to be, but I can tell they weren't very happy about being there. We ordered a double bacon burger and there was half a strip of bacon on it. We were super disappointed because double the meat. They should've put at least an entire strip of bacon on it the last time we ordered a double bacon burger it was really hardy this time It just just wasn't very good. The fries were kind of soggy and the onion rings were extremely greasy. I knew there was a new cook back there so perhaps he didn't know what he was doing I asked for everything to be in dining, but they put it in bags and things got a little soggy before I was able to unbagged them. read more

My home town had Richardson's drive thru. My best friend's mom would take us kids on errands and if we were good, she would treat us to an ice cream cone. Once we were old enough to drive, it was a place to go grab a shake or burger to eat while hanging out. I imagine every small town had one at one time. The ice cream and burger joint that had any flavor of shake you can think of and a well made burger and side. I'm so thankful we have Shake Out still here in Twin Falls. In my case, Richardsons's was sold and is now a taco stand. Other corporate, large chain restaurants have tried to imitate it, but have fallen short. Shake Out is one of the originals and I hope it stays that way. Yeah, the food takes a bit longer to cook, but I see the wait time as a special time given to me to connect with my family in the car, hang out with my husband and daughter (and sometimes our dog) and make the same kind of memories I did as a kid and teenager. Then, when we get our shakes, burgers, onion rings, fries or mozzarella sticks, we stop somewhere or go home and describe to each other (and sometimes share a sip of) the new flavor of shake we've tried. We then reminisce about the best shake we've tried so far or try to decide what the next flavor is that we plan to try. And, the burgers are always great and the sides hot. As much as I like tacos, I hope we never lose this gem of ours called Shake Out. read more

I got the bacon burger with cheese sticks in a meal the cheese sticks were amazing probably some of the best I've had but the burger on the other hand was not the best. It was super greasy but not in a good way, I normally like greasy burgers but this one not so much I couldn't even finish it the patty was seasoned weird and just not good in general. But service was amazing and everyone there was nice i would go again but gonna try something else on the menu other than their burgers. read more

The food has been absolutely horrible since they've reopened. We've tried them three times now with no improvement. They have teenagers working in there that clearly haven't had proper training on how to cook or do anything. The fries are always poorly cooked and near raw. The cowboy burger when they first opened didn't have mustard on it. My mom ordered it again today and they put so much mustard and BBQ sauce on it that it made her want to puke. It shouldn't have mustard on it period. The chicken strips were horrible and overcooked. They gave us two fry sauces for two meals and they weren't even half filled. We won't be returning. It's sad because we used to enjoy this place before the accident and now they're just horrible. The worst part is I paid $24 for a cowboy burger, fries, chicken strips, and a snickers shake. I came in on Saturday and watched the guy manager sit down with a employee who clearly had an issue with another employee. She was trying so hard to get him to understand where she was coming from. From what I heard she felt singled out. There was talk about fish being sent out instead of chicken and frozen fries put in a fryer with cooked ones. That raised my concerns a lot. The guy never see me to care about how she felt she kept trying too voice her opinion and he kept going back to her supposedly yelling at an employee. I watched the employee with long hair in the back not fully pulled up only partly go from the dish area to probably back where the grill was. This employee girl left and she was clearly upset. The man's excuse was well all of you guys are new and what training the old people had I don't like so I'm retraining everyone. My guess is the fact of they favor people who are employee or family to the manager. He had a snippy h Attitude with her beyond. Then when she left she was in tears. After seeing this I won't go back. 8 dollars an hr I hear for hiring yet these kids deserve more. The girl sat her and said something about I cleaned the outside of the trash cans in the back while he sat on his phone and Everything and I feel he doesn't line to do things. The way they treat employees is bullshit. So sad I bet she doesn't come back. She had a gray jacket on I hope she sees her potential. She even said she's trying her best. read more

I can't quite decide what to make of this place. Parking lot is a literal free-for-all, with no striping or clear direction anywhere, but I doubt it ever fills up enough to worry too much there. This reminds me of the Hook & Ladder in Salt Lake in that it's terribly dinky inside. While that place is slinging awesome food, this one...hmmm. They do sides phenomenally well. Their cheese sticks are excellent and the fried mushrooms were prepared perfectly, even though they came with a crappy ranch that tasted like and had a consistency suspiciously like cheap Kraft. Fries were also perfection, probably the best I've had in a good long while, nice and thick, perfectly fried, with an excellent crunchy exterior. The burger, though...it's almost like they didn't give any thought to who had to eat this. Ordered a double bacon something or other. The patties were stacked in a sort of "staircase" pattern, which made eating them a chore. I had them take off a bunch of toppings and still wound up having to ditch the bottom half, both due to stray ingredient contamination and/or foul taste of what was there (stick with just straight mayo as a condiment - trust me on this) as well as trying to get it a lot more manageable. The burger part itself was a bit bland, as was the bacon and this overall was not a very skillfully designed, presented or executed burger. The shake my son got was done acceptably, considering they used a mint syrup, which can easily get excessive in the wrong hands. The cookie part, though...they need work here, unless you want an unwieldy sludgepit of chocolate sandwich cookies (I imagine Oreos) at the bottom once the shake is gone. Cookies needed to be broken up a lot more and were in fairly large chunks. Some chunks is ok, but quarter-sized cookies is a bit much... My kid picked this name out of a number of names I gave him to choose from, but I don't think I would wind up going there again of my own accord. It's about what you'd expect from a small-town sort of burger shack, which is exactly what the building looks like, minus the very skillfully done sides. Nominally, I'd call it a 2.5, but staff was pretty nice, so they get the push. read more

You want thick? You want thin? You want a large vanilla-raspberry-caramel-mint shake? They can do it. And they can do it well! My most recent shake was a large vanilla-peanut butter mix. Stunning. Fantastic. They use real peanut butter (I saw her scoop the stuff into the blender/mixer) and what appears to be some form of soft serve ice cream as the base (vanilla in my case). Just simply divine. A superb mix of vanilla and rich peanut butter. My shake was too thick for a straw (how I requested it) so I needed to use a spoon. I have had many shakes from here. Every shake I've received has been consistent with quality and flavor. Last month I ordered a chocolate-banana shake and was almost paralyzed with tears of joy from how wonderful tasting the damn thing was. Their building is a piece of junk. It's already in a run down part of town (the building itself is 30 yards from the train tracks...and train tracks should always tell you something) and it looks like the last time their parking lot was repaved gasoline was fifty three cents a gallon. Their building and surrounding land is totally indicative of the status quo here in Twin: erect a building then cover EVERYTHING with tar. I bet if they relocated they'd see business pick up. Unfortunately for the owners they fail to see that ALL construction/growth here in Twin Falls is moving away from them, but I bet rent is cheap. This establishment is truly a "locals only" thing because for my first eight years here in Twin Falls I NEVER went in because it looked totally shady. Their burgers suck. Tasteless, I got lettuce stems as "lettuce" instead of a leafy, crunchy piece. Their burger patties are thin and their buns are too much. The patty is the star of a burger so why do so many restaurants place so much emphasis on the bun? Presentation of Shake Out burger was total amateur. Upon unwrapping the burger wrapper I saw two large burger buns and nothing else.I had to lift up the bun to ensure they didn't forget the patty. The burger was boring, lifeless, and tasteless. There was no WOW factor. Total snoozefest. Shake Out lost a star because they couldn't even get a burger up to "meh" level. The point is this: Shake Out is the Major Leagues for shakes. So, this is a total hole in the wall place, which has probably been around since the '60's. But - it is very clean inside as is the parking lot outside. The two employees working this evening were very friendly and chitty chatty with me. They answered all of my questions about their extensive shake menu. Now the place is called "Shake Out" - and that is exactly what I would go there for - a shake. The shakes are amazing. They have like 50 ingredients that they will mix and make into a shake for you. They even make a thick shake or a thin shake custom ordered to your preference. As for constructive criticism they could do with putting some flower pots outside and repainting the lines in the parking lot. I think a little face lift would go a long way. But having said that I would definitely go back again for a shake. It is the best milkshake I have had since going to my hometown shake shoppe in Florida. Parents - you must take your kids there when you want to bribe them. Parents take yourself here when you need a treat. I had a medium thick shake. It was more than enough for me. I had them combine two flavors - banana cream and hot fudge. It was so good. They used a real banana that they sliced up right there and real hot fudge. This was so much better than Dairy Queen or Baskin Robbins. read more

RANT and it's a long one. This is about an employee not the business because I love to support local. As someone who has worked in food and retail I know not to be rude to someone, especially if that person is touching your food! I've never had an experience like this and I honestly can't believe this happened. After I got off from work today I decided to grab some grub from the Shake Out on the way home. I ordered a fingersteak meal with a shake, a cowboy burger meal with a shake plus two extra fry sauces (0.25 each). I asked for the bun to be separate because I live about 30 minutes from town and didn't want a soggy burger bun by the time I would got home. Food plus 20% tip came to just under $29. I get the food and make sure everything is there. I did not open the burger box because I figured if they put the bun with it I got buns at home and will just replace it. No big deal. I get home ready to eat and open the burger box to see they gave me a plain burger patty, bun separate (yay), side of onion, pickle, and barbecue sauce. This is not what I ordered. The cowboy burger is supposed to have onion rings, bacon, and cheese. These and extra fry sauce are nowhere to be found. I debated going back and usually just let mishaps like this go and make due, but the fact I got something that looked like a dollar menu burger from McDonald's without the fixings for 7x the price was definitely disappointing. I drove all the way back to the Shake Out and showed the nice girl at the counter who was really understanding what I got versus what I ordered and asked if they could remake it. I also said they don't have to worry about separating the bun and to just make the burger how they normally make it and I will remove the bun myself so there is no confusion. She let me know she was new and that she would have to get the other girl in charge, MaKayla. MaKayla comes up to the counter with the skunkiest attitude and just says no, she won't make me a new burger because the order was complicated. Uh. What? I literally just asked for the bun to be separate. I ask her if she can just give me a refund then. She refuses. She then offers to reheat my burger and add toppings to it. I tell her that it isn't sanitary to other customers to reheat a burger on their grill that has been out of the restaurant for an hour and that I have touched. She doesn't care and takes the burger back and starts doing whatever. I keep telling the other girl I don't want MaKayla to make me another burger and that I just want a refund because who knows what she was doing to my food at this point. The nice girl says that only MaKayla is allowed to do refunds and that she is in charge. MaKayla finishes doing whatever to the burger and throws it on the counter. I tell her I just want a refund. She says I will have to call the owner if I want a refund for a $6.70 burger. Fine. Meanwhile I can hear customers behind me talking, calling MaKayla a bitch. I NEVER call owners to make complaints. I understand people having bad days and that the customer isn't always right. I've been there! I just could not believe this was happening. I step outside to call Merilee. She was super nice and understanding! I explained to her what was going on and how I just wanted a refund because at this point I couldn't trust the food that MaKayla made for me. She agreed and said she would call so they would issue me a refund. I come back into the restaurant and wait in line while they are helping others so I can get my refund. Merilee calls and tells MaKayla to issue me a refund. MaKayla sends the kid who was working the grill up to do the refund. Even though the others said before MaKayla was the only one who could do refunds. The kid gives me $6.70. I ask for the rest of the refund on the fry sauces I didn't get and the tax. He says he can't and that MaKayla said only $6.70. Talk about PETTY. It was just difference in change at that point so I just left. I can't believe they have someone with that bad of an attitude in charge setting such a poor example for other employees. read more

My wife and I enjoy an order of fries and a thick Fudge/Peanut-butter mix shake. We went with high hopes that the small local burger shop would be an amazing place. It's cute, building and had very nice staff. I've only had a shake here, so I can't speak to the other food. I've driven past this place forever and never stopped because, frankly, it looks like a complete dive. Yet, somehow it's managed to stay in business for some time - I figured with a place like that it must be because of the food. So, I stopped and tried a fresh banana shake. So far, the experience is limited to that, but I would definitely recommend it and plan on stopping in again to try some of the other flavors and maybe some of the food. read more
