soup like normal ramen, it's just noodles (mostly dry) with a tiny bit of sauce. To my disappointment it was COLD. The flavors were good but it was no where near the quality of good ramen you can get in Sawtelle or even at Ramen Nagi in the Century City mall. Is it fun to shake? Yes, but be careful not to pop the lid off! Ultimately I was disappointed because I wanted warm ramen on a cold night but instead I got cold noodles for around $17 with tax.

First off, I had the shoyu ramen with no spice and light garlic, no veggies except for green onion, pork belly, and an egg. The small amount of broth was flavorful and warm (I thought it'd be cold). The pork was good, but it only had...

3-4 pieces. The egg was hard boiled and I wish it had been soft boiled. I seemed to have gotten more noodles since I didn't have any veggies. Unfortunately it was spicy even though I asked for NO spice. My main peeve is that the noodles clumped together into a big mass. They should cut the noodles so they're short, and give you more broth. I used chopsticks, and it would probably be really messy or hard to eat with a fork.

I can't believe I paid $15 for this. That is more of a reflection on life in 2024 than my shake ramen. Honestly it kinda reminded me of those salads McDonald's used to have. Now the spicy chicken ramen wasn't bad, but it wasn't very spicy and it left me wanting more. It hits like a non alcoholic beer. The staff was nice and hey it's a food truck so for what it is it could be way way worse

I was overcharged $2 for an egg which was not disclosed to me. No where on the menu was it mentioned that eggs are an extra charge and the only reason I saw this was because of the receipt I asked for. Once I saw the extra charge spoke to the cashier who seemed very hesitant to refund me and continuously asked me if I wanted to egg still after stating I wanted a refund. If an egg is $2 that's okay, what I didn't appreciate is being charged for something that I had no idea was an extra charge. My receipt does not specify this either. On top of that, the food wasn't great and this experience didn't make it better. Take your money elsewhere.

Until yesterday I wasn't familiar with the concept of shake ramen. It is literally what it says it is: ramen in a container that you shake. At first I was worried that the absence of broth would equate to bland flavor and I couldn't have been more wrong. My rainy day lunch was perfectly savory, tasty, filling, and just plain GOOD!! I got the one with pork belly, spinach, cabbage, corn and other yumminess! Every bite was delicious - I will definitely hunt down this food truck in the future!

The concept (shaking up ramen in a cup) sounds absolutely ridonculous...which means I absolutely have to try it at some point. To my surprise the ramen is actually decently good! I'd actually get a whole thing if I found these guys in my neighborhood. It's not going to compete with sit-down ramen shops on quality, but it's good enough and in a cutely portable package. Since we bumped into these guys at a food festival (626 Night Market), we were mostly interested in trying out a sample. Their mini is definitely a good snack (split between two) if you're hoping to avoid a full meal. Their picture is quite accurate to the amount of food to expect. Despite being mostly dry the amount of shoyu flavor they manage to get to cling across everything is surprisingly good. Toppings were pretty fresh, though the spicness seems to mostly be chili flakes (as opposed to paste). Regular garlic had a good dollap of garlic paste to get mixed up. The pork belly option had a reasonably moist and tender piece of chasiu. Noodle texture was good: pretty bouncy and decent chewiness. And of course the novelty of having to shake up your ramen (in a) cup. :)

I tried Shake Ramen @ the Bruery and was surprised how good it was!!! To me, food trucks are hit or miss, so I wasn't too sure how I would feel trying ramen from a food truck. It was very, very tasty!!! The guy working was very friendly. The food came out so fast! I ordered the miso ramen with pork belly, spicy garlic, and spicy level 2! Never had ramen like this before, it was so easy to eat out of a cup! Lol it's like cup of noodles but upgraded to delicious ramen! The flavor was good, texture of noodles was perfect, and pretty affordable for a food truck. I enjoyed my food very much & would order again.

** Based in Hawthorne, but they do many events around LA, OC, and NorCal. My experience was at the 626 Night Market. On paper, the concept sounds pretty cool. Think Cup Noodles... but instead of styrofoam packing, replace it with one of those fat cups from Honey Boba (RIP). Upgrade the quality of the noodles, ditch the seasoning packet, and add real ingredients you'll find in a regular bowl of ramen. Then shake! But the execution wasn't the tastiest, it's like a brothless noodle salad that doesn't leave you satisfied. Very little noodles, too much spinach. Soft boiled egg was probably left in the pot a little too long. Pork belly flavor was disappointing. While I would've loved something more soupy rather than saucy, I do understand they're trying to do a modern twist on abura soba. And it was also a hot day out, so I was okay with it. The cup is very customizable, you can choose from a variety of options to match your taste preferences. They have two main sauces (shoyu or miso), and spicy garlic (adjustable depending on your tolerance). Main proteins include pork belly, ground beef, and tofu. To top it off, you can add bean sprouts, spinach, cabbage, corn, green onion, an egg, and extra noodles. They are very active on Instagram, I would follow @shakeramen to find out where they show up next! Also available on Uber Eats, Postmates, DoorDash, and Grubhub. Worth trying for the novelty, but wasn't enticing enough for another visit.

The guy taking my order was so nice, he was like Asian Jesus washing away all my sins with delicious shoyu broth. The other employees were also really friendly and gave me advice on how to eat the ramen. Overall, the simple menu, convenience of the Shake Ramen, and tasty food justifies a second visit and my returning business. The prices are fair--they could be better, but they could also be far worse. read more

So I heard about this place for a while now and never got the chance to try it until a couple of weeks ago. They were at the Anime Expo and I looks forward to this expo every year because of the food trucks lol. I'm currently pregnant, so EVERY truck had the possibility of me going and eating their tasty food. But I decided to stop here. And let me tell you I was not disappointed (except for the egg, it was suppose to be soft boiled but it was hard boiled) other than that the noodles were incredible and the pork belly was insanely freaking delicious. Broth-less ramen in a boba cup. It's cute. I get it. The concept is essentially noodles and toppings drizzled in sauce in a cup that you get to shake like a Polaroid picture. It's fun and zany. Taste-wise, it's fair decent though a little more on the salty side. The pork is braised so that it melts in your mouth. Personally, I found I don't like to get experimental with my ramen. Shake ramen is maybe closer to yakisoba or chow mein. When I think of how comforting a bowl of ramen should be, I immediately think first of a rich, creamy broth warming a tired soul up. It just ain't the same, Shakes. I also don't really care for a butt ton of vegetables in any of my food choices so when I asked for no veggies, I got half a cup's worth of food. Great price, great taste, great portion! The condiments on the side were also very good (my favorite was the corn)! The egg is included in the price which is a huge bonus. I personally prefer the miso over shoyu, but they are both worth a try! Usually I am not that good with spicy but level 3 was actually ok. Overall, a very cool idea and yummy food! Would recommend if you're in the mood for a new way to try ramen. : ) read more

pretty good ramen and awesome boba!! i go to smc and every time i crave ramen at school or if i'm bored of other food places i'll go to shake ramen. the ramen itself is okay, it is tasty but nothing mind blowing or original. its convenient to eat. however, you should try their boba. it tastes really good, better than boba shops'! they are also reasonably priced, while the ramen is a little more pricey. read more

They were at an event at the National Orange Show and super delicious. Yes, it's a salty sauce for the Shoyu, but they're honest about it. It is not a soup-like ramen, it's ramen noodles with options of additions, and if you mark heavy on the garlic, it will be, which is exactly how I like it. I went back for seconds. read more

Just got back from 626 night market and was extremely disappointed after waiting in a long line to try this. There was not much flavor at all. It was basically a salad with some noodles. Barely any meat and no flavor of ramen broth at all. There was a lot of hype on Instagram about this ramen, but that's all it was - hype. Sorry, but not worth the wait or money. read more

Got the dry pork belly salt ramen that hit the spot with its cabbage and flavorful noodles and washed down well with their milk tea. It had all the free toppings on it and I ordered it using the uber eats app. My ramen stayed warm through the ride and the packaging was effective in leaving no spills. **I would easily recommend this to anyone BUT would suggest a metal fork and a spice and garlic level of 3 as level 2 was very mild! read more

I ordered the pork belly shoyu with all veggies, mild spice and garlic. I was very impressed and surprised at how good it tasted. I expected some broth in my cup, but it was dry although very flavorful! The only complaint that I have is the price for the amount of ramen that was given. I think there were more bean sprouts than there were ramen... I would've been more ok with the amount of bean sprouts if they were cooked but they were raw, so it made it a little difficult to eat. Otherwise, very innovative and convenient! I loved that I was able to customize everything to my liking! read more

I'm really confused with these reviews... I'm an absolute fanatic for ramen and so is my boyfriend and when we tried Shake Ramen, we were not impressed? First of all, no broth. Second, noodles aren't great either. They taste and feel just like regular pasta noodles. Third, there was no significant flavor that made me want more. The idea of ramen on-the-go is awesome but the ramen I ordered at OC Night Market definitely was not. :/ read more

The Shake Ramen food truck stopped by Westwood, so I ordered a mini miso ramen with all the sides (spinach, cabbage, egg, and maybe a few other things?), and level 2 garlic. The servers in the truck were very pleasant and friendly! I was surprised to find that the ramen doesn't come with broth, but rather a paste that you spread around to the noodles by shaking the cup. Didn't get a chance to try their boba, but next time I will! read more

What a fun concept! I've never seen ramen presented this way. There are so many different combinations you can make with the various toppings and sizes! Came here for their free ramen promotion in exchange for a yelp review. I was skeptical going in because usually places giving out things for free in exchange for some social media favor either 1) give out low quality or 2) give out low quantity. But as a poor college student, who am I to turn down free food?! Food: I was pleasantly surprised to see that this was not the case for them at all!! Their mini size ramen was definitely enough to fill me up (though I am a girl). It was also freakin delicious. Never had ramen without soup before but their noodles were flavorful (spicy, salty, garlic, mmm). The soft boiled egg and vegetables complimented them well. Service: The promotion caused a big crowd and a long line but they were quick to deliver food once they got our orders in. Probably had a turnaround time of 5 minutes~ maybe even less after ordering. Both the guy who took my order and the girl who delivered the food was very friendly. I think I'll be coming back here for a quick lunch or something next time they're in Westwood! I had to work a convention and these guys had it down outside. I got all my staff these easy to go delicious ramen. Full of flavor and you can customize what you want on it??? 10/10. Now every time I'm in the LA area for an event and trucks are there I look for them. read more

Fresh and affordable! It's a fun twist for traditional ramen. SMC doesn't offer that many food choices so it's perfect for students looking for something that is substantial enough to call a meal. Definitely happy they're close by! read more

This Ramen Shop closes pretty late (~11pm) while other local shops are already closed. Thus, parking is pretty open. I can't say the same during the morning or dayshift. At night time, you can see through the open window layout of the Ramen Shop and actually see if it is packed or not. Roughly 6 tables seating up to 2, as well as 7/8 tables seating up to 4. The register and reception area is right up front immediately when you walk through the glass door. The Menu is displayed up on the LCD screen as well as the laminated doubled-side sheets. Plenty of various types of Ramen to choose from. Order is taken and paid up front. Once ordered, along with your drinks, the waiter will bring the order to you directly so you can enjoy it. The interior decor of the Ramen Shop speaks volume to the "Blossom" that is in the name. The designer must really and truly like Cherry Blossom to decorate the interior as such. Wallpaper in cute anime/cartoonish form is seen throughout. I ordered the "Red Ramen" and when it came out, it was probably the most delicious and flavorful Ramen I've had. It wasn't a Tonkatsu nor Miso based soup, but more of a curry flavor based. The noodles was very delicate and very aldente! I didn't have high expectations for ramen that didn't come with a broth. When I bit into the pork belly, I could feel its warm suppleness enveloping my tongue in meat juices, but it left something to be desired as it was in chunks rather than slices. As the top geometry student in the eighth grade, I learned how to appreciate the usage of the Golden ratio in food aesthetics. Still, it was very moist. Unfortunately the egg I received was cold and I was very surprised to see that there wasn't a yolk inside. It's possible that they took the egg out too early and they broke it, letting its cold runny insides coat the rest of my food in eternal misery and despair. Also, my friend was told to shake the ramen well, but in doing so she exploded her egg. While the concept of a portable fresh ramen is intriguing, it does not seem to be able to capture all of the qualities needed to make a good ramen and bring it to its optimal noodliness. Overall, if Daikokuya were ramen Jesus in the Church of the Flying Spaghetti Monster, this ramen would be the guy people invite to church because he brings the free donuts and coffee. At the current price point, I would rather take the pilgrimage to the Holy Temple of Daikokuya and pay respects to His Noodliness by inhaling a bowl of hot broth and noodles. I do have to commend the staff for being very friendly and helpful though. While they may not have produced the best likeliness of our noodly deity, they have proven themselves to be loyal disciples to noodles. read more

I love ramen, and this place did not disappoint. Great stuff. I've had ramen at many places, I love it so much and this one did not disappoint even when compared to places in Japan. This one time I was watching an episode of the guy who reviews food on the travel channel, and the thug is...he talked about how great ramen in Japan was. I thought about what he said and decided to go to Japan myself. However, I never actually went to Japan, but based on what Anthony Bourdain said, he said that I should try it anywhere. I love shake ramen! They're outside of Santa Monica College Monday through Thursday in the afternoons and now at UCLA in the evenings. The large combo is such a good deal. Make sure to bring cash, or spend $10+ so you can charge your credit card without a transaction fee. My favorite is the shio tofu. The beef is okay and the pork is good. Their prices are discounted for students already so you can have a delicious boba drink with the meal for less than $10. They didn't have chicken egg rolls when we went so we had to order the veggie ones. They were aite. The soup broth wasn't that flavorful and I was a little disappointed. The server/cashier was great though. Checked in periodically and got us more basil! The room they put us in was nice and sectioned off from the rest of the restaurant but it got a little hot in that corner.

I've spotted El…read moreFogon Guatemalan Food Truck near my work a few times and I've always found myself intrigued with their yummy looking food. I finally made the stop to check them out! I'm a big fan of birria and I was torn between trying out their birria ramen or their quesabirrias. The guy who was working the truck said they were both great but it was the quesabirrias that is their best seller. With each taco being only $4, it seemed quite the deal! I chose to go with the quesabirrias and I am really glad I did. These tacos were made fresh upon order. They came out hot and crisp! I loved the melted cheese and the tender beef inside. I found that they were actually quite generous with the beef. It was very fulfilling and I was quite happy! I definitely want to also get the Birria ramen one day. Their Garnachas is also something I'd like to try!
