Was so looking forward to Shake Shack coming in locally. Huge disappointment. First time it was crazy busy, but thought it worth the wait. My son and I got a very disappointing meal that was mediocre and way overpriced. I gave it another try thinking the first time was a fluke and they hadn't gotten things together.. once again very disappointing. The meat patty was small, and both times I got a single sliver of tomato along with a very small wilted piece of lettuce. The hamburger was bland and unsatisfying. This is not the worthy of all the prior Shake Shack experiences I've had at various locations. On top of that, service was slow and unreliable. I asked for a side of pickles and the waiter never returned to my table. I hope they get it together.. it might be worth just one more try just cuz I'm hoping to get the true Shake Shack experience from before! read more

Took my elderly Asian mom to eat here because she was craving a burger. I am going to write this from the perspective from a complaining older Asian lady who is horrible with technology. We walked in, I had to order for her because I knew she was going to complain if she had to figure out how to use the kiosk, there were about 4 kiosks, I did not see a regular register. It said to take a number for to go orders. I gave my mom the number and told her to wait until they called her number because I was going to grab a drink next door. I come back and she is grumbling because she said there is no way to figure out if her food is ready. I asked if they called her number and she said no.. uh ok mom. Anyways I take the number and they called me by name instead of the number, i was thinking to myself.. why have a number, not a huge deal to me. They have a lot of staff behind the counter just standing there, waiting, for food. Just an observation not a complaint. On to the food, sooo good! It was picture perfect and fresh. The fries were hot and crispy, the portobello burger was perfectly crunchy on the outside with a cheesy center. My complaining mom even said 5 stars! This review is for Shake Shack Brea. Place is cool, cleaned and friendly server. That time the place is crowded so wait for a bit. It's really hard to find a parking spot. The double burger and bacon fries is so good.... And the dipping sauce is so delicious I recommend to ask for extra dipping sauce. The price of the food is not to bad. I was so excited to try the burgers here since it's opening was highly anticipated. Wow, my family & I were disappointed with the quality & amount of food for the price. Honestly, we could've gotten a better meal at Wendy's. We ordered 2 single patty burgers, one protein style and one regular, a double patty burger, one shake & small fries for almost $50. The burgers patty was so tiny we had to open up the buns and lettuce to find it. It was so flat with barely any of the hyped up additions. Don't go by the photos they have posted onto he walls, that's not what you're going to get. We thought ok, the shake will be the winner because SOMETHING has to make this meal worth $50. Unfortunately, it was... ok. Nothing spectacular, nothing we couldn't have gotten at In N Out for LESS money. The wait was crazy but to be expected because they had just opened 4 days ago. Food is just ok for the price you pay. Who knew Shake Shack would be this disappointing. I actually laughed out loud when I opened my burger. The miniscule piece of lettuce was not a good sign. The huge pickles were good though. Food tasted descent. Fries were better than the burger. So, needless to say that we probably won't be back. I'm very disappointed in the response I received from the manager when I complained about how inconvenient the mobile ordering was today. I do understand that with a new location there may be kinks, but for all of the trouble I explained to the manager, I was surprised I was not offered something as a nice gesture. Chick Fil A or In in Out would have done that. I tried to order for over 30 mins on the app seeing the long line from the parking lot, but it was not accepting phone numbers and it was required to complete the mobile order. I finally had to drop my toddlers off at home, then come back to get parking across the lot since it was so busy, then stand in a very long line to order and then wait some more for the food to come out. This process added close to an hour that could have been avoided if the app worked properly. My experience could have been improved with more empathy. I will say Shake Shack burgers are always very good and the cashiers were friendly. I just wish I had a better first impression of this local new restaurant. read more

The restaurant just opened, so it's understandable that they're still working out the kinks. However, their order management system could use some improvement. Instead of taking orders personally like at In-N-Out, they rely on self-ordering screens. The process is supposed to notify you via text when your food is ready, but this system wasn't working during my visit. I waited about 30 minutes for a text that never came, and when I finally asked an employee, they retrieved my food--which, unfortunately, was cold, and the shake was melted and coagulated. For a $25 meal (basic burger and fries, and regular shake), this was disappointing. For now, Brea's Best is still superior, but if you're craving Shake Shack, we've got one in town! Hopefully, they'll iron out these issues soon. read more

My daughter and i stopped by at this location to grab dinner. Because i was on an important call, i sent my daughter to place her order. We have stopped by this location several times and our orders never take more than 30 mins. So after a while of waiting for her order, my daughter informed me that she has gone up to the counter to follow up on her order. Twice! First time she was told to wait as they were busy with Doordash orders. Second time she was told "it's coming". To make a long story short, I gave in to my intuition that something was off. It was maybe they forgot to put in her order or what not. So i went inside to ask what was going on with her order. After some back and forth with the staff, the lady checked the rack where online orders are placed. Lo and behold she finds my daughter's order. She then said "we'll have to replace this with a fresh order". And so? Did that mean we'd have to wait for however long it may take again? No. She asked if i'd like a refund. No. My daughter just wanted her food. Mind you, there was no line. And yet, my daughter was told to "wait", to "step aside bcos your order is coming"... all that to find her order was labeled and bagged as a Doordash order. All we got was a condescending "sorry". The kitchen staff looked like they were even amused by the situation. We will no longer patronize this location because of this experience and for their lack of customer service.
