Not a bad place to get a burger. However I feel like it is a little overpriced for what you're getting. The burger was flavorful and fresh. I would recommend eating at the location, the burgers are a little juicy and greasy so the bun would probably be soggy by the time you got home. The cheese fries are my favorite. The fries are somehow ridiculously crispy even when they are covered in cheese sauce. The inside dining room is a little small and fills up quickly but there is a cute rooftop patio with great views you can eat at. There is a staircase and elevator that lead to it. Parking is a bit of a pain since you can only valet, street park with meters or park in the underground garage. However shake shack does validate for 3 hours so you can walk off your meal going back to you car. read more

To summarize, Shake Shack is the In N' Out Burger of the West coast! I heard about Shake Shack a while back, but for some reason I always thought it was far out of my reach in another state. When I found out it was not only in Georgia, but at a location near me, I knew I HAD to try it. Upon my first visit, I was far from disappointed. The menu is on the wall, with a very clean and hip design that radiates to the rest of the restaurant. I ordered the single Shackburger and a 6 count of Chicken Bites. It was about $6 for just the burger, but if you wanted to add a drink and some fries, it definitely adds up to about a $15 meal. Despite the pricey aspect of the business, it is well worth the bliss when you take a bite out of your food. The bun of the burger has a softness that reminds me of the mini Hawaiian bread, and the burgers other ingredients look so fresh. Besides the patty, it has tomato, lettuce, and this secret sauce that's similar to mayo. It combines to have such a divine taste. And don't get me started on the chicken bites. I never thought anything could beat a Chik-fil-a nugget, but these sure come close. There's a crunch when you bite into them, and the chicken with white meat is just so juicy and tender. The breading is on the outside is so well done and the size of the chicken is big enough that there's a perfect balance. The staff was very nice, considering we were stopping by for a take-out order with an hour within closing. The cashier even offered the lady in front of me a sample of their seasonal mango-coconut lemonade, which she ended up purchasing because I'm guessing it was refreshing. The shop is ironically placed in the plaza of The Buckhead Shops, so it's a good alternative to the $50 meals around it. I heard a lot of good things about Shake Shack from friends, and I was eager to see what the hype was about. I went on a Saturday night right before the 6pm dinner rush, and let me tell ya...that was a good idea. That place can get crowded really fast at prime hours, and I got my food before the line got nuts! The line stretches into the 1st floor dining area, making it loud and potentially distracting for you if you are trying to talk to someone over your meal. They have a fairly simple menu and a good selection of beers and wine. My burger had fresh ingredients and it tasted good! The fries were pretty good- pretty much like any crinkle cut fries at this kind of burger place. Overall, I enjoyed my meal here, and I would come back for casual dining with friends for lunch or for an early dinner on a weeknight. read more

Shake shack calls itself modern roadside burger stand(like most new restaurant joints calls themselves these days). They already have their presence in several major cities inside US and also in UK, Turkey, Russia and Middle East. And this would be their first location in Georgia. This follows Zinburger and Bartaco as restaurant concepts from North, finally opening in Atlanta. The restaurant is located at the new shopping area in Buckhead called 'Buckhead Atlanta', which only opened for business in the middle of September this year. Shake Shack is one of the first restaurants to open here(original opening was couple of weeks ago but delayed twice for various reasons) we reached there at 11.15 am on opening day(09/30/2014), there was a long line already to enter the restaurant. They were giving away first hour shwags - t-shirt, cooling glass and armbands. Also, while we waited in line, they gave us the sample of their custards and juices. The menu is rather simple. They have 100% all-natural Angus beef burgers, mushroom burger(vegetarian), Flat-top Dogs, crinkle cut fries, Shakes & frozen ice creams, drinks including beer & wine. And for the dog owners rejoice, they also have dog treats. This is how it works - you stand in line, put in the order and in-turn they will give you a buzzer that will let you know when your order is ready to be picked up. That's all. For meat eaters, they have shack burger which is just cheeseburger topped with lettuce, tomato and shackSauce and SmokeShack is same cheeseburger topped with Applewood smoke bacon, cherry pepper and shacksauce and for that you pay about $2 extra. All the meat burgers comes with the option of single or double patty. To please vegetarians, they also have 'Shroom Burger($6.99) which is fried Portobello filled with Muenster & cheddar cheeses and topped with lettuce, tomato and shacksauce. And what if you want to try both beef and veggie burger? Well, you are in for a treat there as well. Shack Stack burger($9.15) comes with both cheeseburger and a 'Shroom burger patties. We ordered, 1) Chicken dogs with all toppings 2) Shack stack 3) Side order of cheese fries 4) The concrete jungle Because it was first day and it was crowded, the wait time was 10-15 mins to get our food after we ordered it. The Chicken dog with all the toppings(pickled cucumber, pickled green chilis, onion & tomatoes) was absolutely delicious. Bit expensive for the small sized dog but it was tasty and with side of fries it can easily be fulfilling for one person. One of the staff mentioned later that you can ask for chicken Meister that comes with cheese sauce and shallots as topping - this is not on menu. In the shack stack burger, the portobello and cheeseburger patty works surprisingly very well. And the Muenster cheese that was filled inside fried portobello oozes out as you bite in or cut the burger. It was just sinfully delicious. A MUST TRY. The usually am not a fan of crinkle cut fries but fries($2.90) here are good, but nothing to write home about. The cheese fries is $1 more, comes with with cheddar cheese topping. The concrete jungle is made with vanilla custard, chocolate cookie dough, bananas and peanut butter sauce. The Vanilla custard was bit too sweet for my taste but then I don't have a sweet tooth. Many of my friends would just love this. They also have rooftop patio with shades and you can take either elevator or steps upstairs. From the rooftop patio, you can go to other nearby shops of the shopping complex. Parking : Free road side parking is available at Buckhead Ave but there is also complimentary valet parking available - once you turn into buckhead ave from piedmont, take first right and you will see signs for complimentary valet parking. "I just really want a milkshake." -- The Perks of Being a Wallflower (2012) Burgers galore...so you think they would have more space to accommodate the draw to this popular NYC burger chain. But square footage is at a premium in Buckhead, so they must make due with the little corner they have in the new "Buckhead Atlanta" establishment. You cannot turn left into the parking/driveway if you are driving South on Peachtree - which is important to note. The structure is such that you order and pay first off a large menu on the wall after snaking through a long line, half of which is usually outside. Not ideal in extreme temperatures. They then hand you a number and you go, hopefully, grab yourself a seat and wait for the pager light up. The good news is that they have a rooftop patio with quite a bit of seating. Plus, there is an elevator to access it. The menu consists of burgers and hotdogs, with fries, shakes (hello, shake shack), and frozen custards. Since I had been anticipating going to a Shake Shack for ages, I decided I needed to try as many things as possible. So I opted for their most popular item - the Shake Stack. It is a Cheeseburger and their 'Shroom Burger together in one. The 'Shroom Burger is a crispy fried portobello mushroom filled with melty muenster and cheddar cheeses, coated in panko. They double stack them and top it with a garden of veggies and ShackSauce. I dunno what ShackSauce is, but damn it is good! I opted for crinkle fries and the coffee shake - I need that shake in my life on a daily basis. It was like a frozen coffee - not too sweet, but creamy and full of coffee goodness. The burger was amazing! Also, not so huge that I felt gross for eating the entire thing after. The fries were good, but nothing I needed to write home about. But add in the shake and and the burger and I would come back. Valet parking was pricey, so next time I will self-park (this time I couldn't find where it was). Plus with the line and tough to find a place to sit, I'll be choosey about when to go in the future. Hopefully the new chain smell will wear off and it won't be such a draw and will level out. I was skeptical of any location claiming to rival the deliciousness of 5 guys burgers and fries, yet I decided to give the famous shake shack a try. To start, the cashier was very friendly and helpful after learning we were newcomers. After seeing what came on the smokeshack burger, I had to give that a try with an order of cheese fries. The fries were perfectly cooked. Crunchy exterior with a fluffy potato interior. The cheese sauce was so velvety smooth and just added to the flavor. Now the burger itself was just as tasty as it looked. Thick and juicy with hardly any chew to it. The bacon gave the smoky salty flavor to the sandwich, but it was the peppers that really added the much needed acidic dimension with a slight kick. Executive summary: I've had a lot of burgers in Atlanta, and this place is just not worth the money. Go to Farm Burger. Only 7 minutes away. Will not be returning for their burgers, but may give Hot Dogs a try. It was around 1230p on a Saturday. The line started about 10 feet from the front door. From that point to getting my food it took about 20 minutes. Not bad. I had the double Smokeshack with fries and a Peachtree milkshake. The burger was OK. Its about 1/2 lb with double cheese, couple pieces of bacon, and peppers. If you have ever been to In-N-Out Burger, this burger is very similar (slightly bigger patties). There was nothing really special about it. I think the burger was slightly better than Five Guys....maybe. The burgers at Farm Burger are just better in every way. Especially meat quality and toppings. The fries were crinkle fries. Nothing special. I only ate a few and it cost me $2.50. I guess you can share, but I really would just skip these. Not worth the calories. I ordered the Peachtree milkshake which is caramel and peach flavor but I'm pretty sure I just got vanilla. I'm sure they would have replaced it if I had told them it was wrong, but I didn't feel like dealing with it (similar thing happened to me at the Miami location!). The shake was 5.50 and SMALL. About the size of a small Chick-Fil-A shake (maybe even slightly smaller) and really not any better. My meal was $19 in total. Parking isn't that great either. There is Free valet right behind the building but it was crowded and slow. One woman said she was waiting 25 mins (probably exaggerated but still). Took me about 5-7 mins, but I somehow definitely skipped some people who had already been waiting for valet before I got there. First off, parking was difficult. I'm no stranger to the crazy ITP parking situation, but this threw me off. I eventually gave up and opted for valet parking ($7 + tip). Being new to the Shake Shack kingdom, I was only confused for a moment before I realized that the set-up is like every other burger place in town. You place your order at the counter, scramble to find a seat and then wait to pick up your food. His order: ShackBurger Double. Cheeseburger topped with lettuce, tomato and ShackSauce ($7.99) and Fries ($2.95). Verdict: And underwhelming "meh." A typical burger that tastes slightly better than homemade but doesn't compare to one of his favorites at Farm Burger. The fries.....basic crinkle cut fries that look identical frozen Ore-Ida fries. My order: Shack-cago Dog. Dragged through the garden with Rick's Picks Shack relish, onion, cucumber, pickle, tomato, sport pepper, celery salt and mustard ($4.00) plus a regular drink ($2.75). Verdict: It would have been much, much better if the bun supported everything. One bite in and not only did half the toppings fall off, but the bun cried mutiny and gave up. My loaded hot dog instantly became the world's messiest hot dog sandwich. The flavor combo, however, was spot on. Service wasn't great but wasn't bad either. No complaints there. The seating area looked a bit rough due to tons of people and lack of adequate chairs and tables. One employee was busting his butt running all over the place to clean tables, wipe down the condiment counter and take out trash. Parking: There's a parking deck that is free for the first hour. You'll turn into the shopping center either right before or right after Shake Shack (depending on which direction you come from) and should see a deck labeled "Parking". Shake Shack is a fast food restaurant so you order at the counter and they give you one of those waiting buzzers that vibrate/light up when your food is ready. They're fairly quick about getting the food out. There are burgers and hot dogs to choose from. I had the Shack Burger which you can get as a single or double stack and it was delicious. The burger had cheese, tomato, lettuce, and a mayo based sauce that is sooo good. Although the burger was simple, it was well executed and the ingredients were fresh. I also had the crinkle cut fries which are SO GOOD-- perfectly golden and crispy. Like most review's the only parking available is the parking deck if you don't luck out on curb parking - A la "Atlantic Station". I think the hype train is still rolling strong with this place. This is a "fast food" kind of setting. Though they provide you with electronic buzzers when your order is ready. We arrived with maybe 7-8 people in front of us in line...outside...in the cold. Brr. Timing the wait of when we stepped in line to actual being in front of the cashier to place our orders was at 9:01. So a 16 min wait. The main dining room is squished at best to describe. The upstairs patio roof top has either the elevator or the stairs to use to go up. The rooftop is shared with a gastro pub and is actually closer to street side. If you take the stairs, immediately turn left and go all the way down and you'll see the tables and chairs for Shake Shack patrons. Upstairs has a self serve station in front of the elevator with napkins, plastic utensils, and salt & pepper packets - everything but ketchup. [Service]: Most of the employees are behind the counter; either taking orders or on the cook line. Sometimes, but rarely, did one employee come in and organize the line as some people have no understanding that there are people waiting and are in front of them. With the number of cooks, the food actually only took 5 mins to be done. Pretty quick. [Food Highlights]: Shake Stack - I normally don't order mushroom burgers, but hey why not. The crisp-fried portobello was pretty interesting. If anything, it looks like a fritter. It's pretty thick and adds some height to the burger. DO NOT CRUSH IT like I did trying to setup the burger for easier bites. The melted cheese sauce inside leaked out and made a portion of my burger soggy. Just take bites of it when possible. It isn't the best burger I've ever had; the open faced grilled hot dogs took a while to get used to and the thick milkshake stumped me at first but the second I smell the fries or see that funny looking hot dog, I'm instantly brought back to the Upper East Side in NYC. Shade trees, tables full of chatty people during a lunch rush and my girlfriends laughing so loud and fighting over crinkle fries. This isn't NYC but you can't beat shake sauce, a roof top bar, crispy fries and burgers that stick to your ribs! Shake Shack is the In and Out burger of the East Coast. This new location is a welcome addition to the newly rebuilt Streets of Buckhead shopping scene. Every time I come here I've happily stood in line for a minimum of 20 minutes and it is always worth it! The crinkle fries are delightfully crispy and paired perfectly with the infamous shake sauce which is a tangy mayo blend. Add some cheese sauce to your fries, even your burger if you dare-you're welcome! Shake Shack has a fried portobello mushroom burger which is surprisingly just as good as their smoke shack which is a double burger with smoked bacon and sweet red peppers. Kind of a bite but that may not be a bad thing when paired with a concrete. They sell Vienna hot dogs too and for those who know the difference between a generic hot dog and a Vienna understands the long lines! You really can't beat the snap of the Vienna dog topped with Shake Shacks impressive list of toppings. You'll feel like you're back in the Windy City even if your feet are still on Peachtree. First off, I've loved the Shake Shacks in NYC and DC that I've tried and came in this not expecting as much (due to the 3.5 stars). This place totally lived up to and (in my opinion) exceeded the expectations planted by the NYC and DC locations. It's so good! The setup and menu are pretty straightforward. It's shakes and burgers, nothing too out of the ordinary, right? Wrong. I'm just going to highlight a few of the items. My favorite thing on the menu is the 'Shroom Burger. I'm not a vegetarian and this thing is amazing. It's two portobello mushrooms with melty cheddar and muenster cheeses inside, topped with lettuce, tomato, and shack sauce (may as well be crack). When it comes to their meat options, I like the SmokeShack. It's a delectable cheeseburger topped with bacon, chopped cherry pepper (best part), and shack sauce (again, crack). This burger has the salty, cheesy, spicy mix that will make it one you crave weeks and months after you've left the restaurant. The fries are good, crispy, and what you'd expect from a solid hipster burger joint. Finally, the desserts. You're at a place called Shake Shack. You came here to get a burger and dessert, right? The Pecan Pie concrete is tasty, rich, smooth, and has some of the best pecan pie I've had in a restaurant mixed up in it. You can't go wrong on their dessert menu but that one was incredible. Yes, I feel into the trap. I had to see what all the hype was about. They just went public on the NYSE and the line was outside the door every time I drove by here. On a recent rainy night, a friend and I walked over from Whole Foods to check it out. The line was again outside the door but it did not take long to get inside. A representative was handing out menus to people in line to expedite our orders knowing what we wanted. All in all, we were in line for 20 minutes. I ordered the Double Shake Shack Cheeseburger add bacon for roughly $10. I agree with Brian K. It was a greasy burger. The potato bread was good and specially cut that it was still together in the rear of the burger to help hold it together. It tasted natural and fresh. That's the "gimmick". None of their cows were shot or stabbed to death, but rather farm rose. Their cows frolicked and grazed in green pastures eating organic grass and earth worms. Never frozen. Always fresh. Thanks, I get it. It's a burger, actually a somewhat bland burger. If I am going to eat badly, I don't know if I want the best organic of the worst. Give me the grease, the salt and seasonings. Burger King has a better taste in my opinion, for $5 (half price) and quicker. Overall, this place has a Chipotle Feel inside. Wood table tops instead and there is an upstairs outdoor patio. My experience was subpar until "Chi Chi" (an employee) came over to ask how we were doing. She was great! Very excited to be working there and raved about the history and how they started and how well the employees are treated, even offering us their weekly pay rates. The employees even get bonuses. Shake Shack started in NY, Brooklyn I believe. This Atlanta location is busting at the seams making over $400,000 since it opened over 3 months ago. A possible second location will be added. FYI: The sign for this place on the top corner of the building. If you do not come from that side on Peachtree Street or your walking under it, you possibly will not see it. Not to be mean , but I dined at Shake Shack months ago, and am just writing my review. Soo I think you know where Im headed here..... Yeah, not memorable much. First Atlanta is over saturated with burger places (most claiming to be authenticly different etc) ..well to make such a claim, one should reach for that plateau of being daringly unique. Shake Shack is not, perhaps popular in Cali or other regions of the US, but not in the "A"! Kapeesh? ! Now, what brought me here was TMZ, they showed patrons waiting in line to get at the Shack, so I thought Wow, they must be the shyt?! I'd always heard In & Out Burger was the jointe' on the west coast....So I prepared tastebuds to Pop!! Ummm no,.... I live in Cobb but will drive anywhere in GA to get or experience what I want, and am a foodie. It was a Sat AM, too early for alot restaurants to be open. So I bopped in the North Face for an exchange, drove to the area near Shake Shack, was somewhat confused by the parking deck entrance (hate parking decks,*sidenote*)... Sat in my car, texted, chatted on the cell'y, people watched until they opened. Finally they do, Im the second person in, view the menu, thinking already overpriced BUT ok if its worth it, sure! Ordered one of the main signature burgers w/fries and drink, like $17. Order was hot, fresh but then...no party for the palate:-(. All that drive & wait...hhmmm, no won't come back, and really disliked the Shack sauce...yuck. I dont care for that Sriracha flavor on anything! I used to dream about going back to NYC and having a delicious Shack Burger. I literally counted down the days when they announced that they were opening one here at the new Buckhead mall. Two birds with one stone!! If you're new here, don't go all out and get a bunch of random things. Start slow and just get the regular delicious, delicious Shack Burger. Also, get the cheese fries but with the cheese on the side; much better since it won't get all soggy. Once you've passed the noob level of Shake Shack, you can level up and try the Shack Stack, which is the same burger as the Shack Burger, but with the added crispy portobello mushroom stuffed with gooey muenster and cheddar cheese. Just make sure you have money in the bank cus this honey is a whopping $10. Anyway, once you order, stay downstairs because your buzzer doesn't have service upstairs, so you might miss your call. Then take your food and head up the elevator to the upper outdoor patio. There, you will have a view (sort of) of Buckhead and my favorite, Restoration Hardware. Enjoy! read more

I am so happy Atlanta has a Shake Shack. There is self-parking (free with validation of up to an hour, I believe) in the garage of the Shops at Buckhead (just follow the signs). When you place your order at the counter, the worker will ask you if you self-parked and need a validation ticket. Upon exit of the garage, insert your initial parking ticket you received followed by the validation ticket. We came here on a rainy day and it was packed! We managed to find a seat and placed our order. You're given one of those buzzers that will vibrate and light up when your order is ready. I ordered a shack burger, side of crinkle cut fries, and their shake of the week (matcha citrus). The shack burger was flavorful and seasoned well. Fries were crispy (even after a few hours!) and the shake was subtlety sweet. Despite there being a huge line, the workers continued to work hard and quality was still great. Highly recommend if you like a fast food alternative that isn't super greasy like most places! read more

I went to Shake shack and ordered a cheese burger with a vanilla milkshake and fries. Something to note is their milkshakes. The milkshakes are absolutely phenomenal and taste amazing. Another thing to note is their fries. Their fries are perfectly crispy, combined with being fresh is amazing. The burger meat itself is usually perfectly cooked, and is always amazing to eat. An issue with delivering though is that they sometimes mess up your order. For me, I order 2 burgers for my family member and I, yet they forgot to give me my burger and only gave us one. I had the pleasure to attend Shake shack grand opening the other day and I was super excited because I have heard many great things about this place from my friends that visit their original store in New York. Apparently in New York the line is out of the door all the time and it looks like this is gonna be the case for the Atlanta locations as well. Since its my first time eating here, I was glad I choose to attend the grand opening day. On their grand opening they were handing out samplers of their famous custards so that was pretty good. They also hand out their menu ahead of time so people can look at it while they were in line. This surely help the process a lot. So after much debating me and the bf decided on a smoked shack for me and a shake stack burger for him. We also ordered a small fries. For drinks we ordered a coke and a peach shake. The total order amount was around $28-30. A little pricey I guess. So for the burgers, I wasn't that impressed. My smoked shack burger that consist of bacon, lettuce and tomatoes was pretty salty. And the boyfriend's shake stack with a fried portebello and two type of cheese almost burned his tongue. For the flavor, it was better than my smoked shack but a little too cheesy. The fries were aokay. And for the peach shake it was a little too thick with not enough peach flavors. Overall, it was a okay. Nothing that really helps it stand out to me but since they just opened, I would come back to give them another try. And apparently, according to my friends,I'm better off just sticking to the original shake burger cause that one is the best. Also shake shack also sells merchandise. This was my first time at Shake Shack. Every time I drive past it, I always see a long line wrapping outside of the door and due to my lack of patience, I've never decided to take the time to wait in line and check it out . One day I didn't really have anything major on my list of things to do so we decided to stick around to see if it was worth the wait. This is what I'll say , the burger that I had which was The Smokehouse burger with bacon and some pepper Jam stuff was delicious! I really enjoyed it! My only complaint about it was that it was a little too small for the money. It was to the point where I actually ordered another one to go because I wasn't full. But I also tried the Salted Caramel Shake. It was good. When I first tasted it I thought it was just okay, but after I let it sit for a little while and melt down a little bit. I went to the Shack with a coworker on our lunch break today. We were concerned about the parking situation, and what the line would look like. The valet parking seemed like a good idea, until it took foreverrrr to get our car back. (Turns out it wasn't the valet's fault--my coworker's car wouldn't start.) The line moved quickly and wasn't very long to begin with--yay! I ordered a Smoke Shack and a coffee shake. The food came out quickly, and was about Grindhouse-level in price and size. The Smoke Shack had bacon and cherry peppers and a tangy sauce. I looooved it. The patty had a nice crust on it, and was seasoned to perfection. At first I wished it was bigger, but once I ate it and had my shake I was glad I hadn't eaten more burg. Especially since it's still balls-hot despite being goddamn October, but I digress. The coffee shake was SUPER not-sweet. Like, I almost wondered if they use unsweetened ice cream because it tasted like scraight-up coffee. No Jamocha shake here, y'all--this mug was bitter. But not in a bad way! I kinda enjoyed it, and didn't feel all diabetic afterwards. My only real complaint is the location. I don't get putting this type of restaurant in this type of building, but what the hell do I know. I don't live near Buckhead and in fact try to avoid it at all costs, so I don't know if I'll ever make another trip over, but if someone is headed that way and wants to pick me up I'll totally go! read more

There are A LOT of burger places in Atlanta...and while Shake Shack is definitely the closest "gourmet" burger place if you live in the heart of Buckhead, it is not my favorite. Known for its incredibly long lines, you would think that the burgers would live up to the hype. I typically order a standard cheeseburger and fries. The burger is not bad, but it is small and the buns are usually pretty greasy. The fries look and taste like they were picked up in the frozen section at Publix. I tried one of the Shake Shack beers once and it was not that great. I will definitely be back given that we live across the street and there is a rooftop patio overlooking Peachtree, but don't come here expecting a euphoric burger experience (go to Grindhouse, Yeah Burger, or H&F for that!). read more

Yes I come here a lot in between taking care of various things in Buckhead. I love the Burgers that have soft bun, fresh veg, and juicy meat. All elements are perfect in combination and consistency. I fries are ho-hum, and the shakes, though good, are over priced for their size. I like that they have roating beers, and pitchers here, though this is most commonly a mid-day stop for me. My hands-down largest gripe, is that the internet has been down, or extremely slow a number of times i have been here. I mean, between say Corso Coffee, Starbucks, or this joint, the slow internet can easily sway me in another direction. Nevertheless, as someone who was in Manhattan when this outfit first opened, I am happy to see it come to Atlanta and present a nice rooftop option for killing time. Shack beats BurgerFi by a mile, but I would likely still pit Yeah Burger or Grindhouse up against it most days. read more

The first Georgia location of NYC's Shake Shack opened today in the new Buckhead, Atlanta mixed use development. It is located right at the front of the new development, facing Peachtree Rd. The menu features all-natural Angus beef burgers and hot dogs, speciality frozen custards and shakes, a selection of beer and wine, and even a few treats for your dogs. I appreciated how they customized their menu with a few Atlanta-specific items. These include the Pecan Pie Oh My and the Campfire S'mores concrete (dense) frozen custards and the Peachtree caramel-peach milkshake. The burger was very good and came out pretty fast despite the huge number of customers waiting. The fries were really good as well. One thing I really liked about the burgers here was that the end of the bun was actually closed, to prevent the contents of the burger from falling out of the back. My only complaint is that unlike other burger restaurants (Five Guys, Cheeseburger Bobby's, Grindhouse, etc.) they did not have a selection of add-on toppings that you can order to go on top of your burger. I actually attempted to eat here for lunch today but the lines were out the door. The line wasn't any shorter for dinner; however, being backed up all the way to the Peachtree Rd. and Buckhead Ave. intersection. For those of you wanting to come here this week, expect about a 30-45 minute wait until it's your turn to place your order. As with many new restaurants when they open, Shake Shack does not yet have their license to serve alcohol. Among the beers listed on their menu today were ShackMeister Ale (a beer brewed exclusively for Shake Shack by Brooklyn Brewery), SweetWater Georgia Brown, and Terrapin Pumpkin Fest. One of the best features about this location is the rooftop patio area. Shake Shack shares the patio with the soon-to-come restaurant Southern Gentleman and it is gorgeous. I definitely will be back to get some drinks up here. As for parking, Buckhead, Atlanta provides free, complimentary valet service. The nice thing about the valet here is that you can text a number when you're ready to be picked up, and you can even tell them where you want to be picked up at, so you don't have to walk back to the valet station where you dropped your car off. read more

Came during Buckhead restaurant Week (2 meals of a burger, order of fries, and a shake for $25). I wanted to try them out because I've heard great things plus they have a nice rooftop patio. So the cheeseburger was pretty good but unfortunately it was just lukewarm like it had been sitting for a minute. The cheese fries are really good! And the strawberry milkshake was average...nothing too special about it. I really enjoyed the rooftop patio. Great way to watch the sunset and feel the spring breeze. Nice place to go to catch up with friends or for a date. Glad I finally got to go...especially during BRW to get that good deal. read more

We tried the shake shack burger, hamburger with shack sauce, chick shack burger, cheese fries, and peachtree shake. The shake shack burger was good. I was trying to figure out what makes it unique...the bun is very soft but not sweet and buttered, the patty is (heavily) salted, and the sauce? I barely noticed the sauce, perhaps because they put too little or there just isn't much flavor to it. It is a mayo type mixture. The hamburger seems fresher because it is adorned with more veggies (tomato, lettuce, pickles, onions) but again lacks anything that makes it special. In my opinion, it's the bread. The chicken sandwich comes with a piece of breaded fried chicken instead of a beef patty. The chicken itself is good but the burgers taste better. The cheese fries are wavy fries with melted cheese on top. It was good but I feel the premium for cheese on the burgers and fries are high for a slice of cheese. The peachtree shake was too sweet and I would not recommend the shakes. Free 3 hours of self parking in the lot downstairs with validation from any of the shops or restaurants. read more

I'm not sure what all the hype is about with this place. I visited here on a weekday during after work hours...4:30pm. There wasn't a wait which I appreciated, but after we sat down the crowd started to pick up a little. As I looked at the menu, I was expecting a lot, but was a little disappointed as it appeared to be the same as any other burger establishment in Atlanta. I was expecting there to be a wide range of the variety of shakes but there were only like 6 or 7. I did not try the food because I had already eaten shortly before. I will try this place again just to try the food and will update my review then...other than that nothing special. The shake tasted like any other shake I've ever had...like a shake...nothing special. I've had shake Shack twice in my life and it's definitely in the realm of a great burger joint like Inn-n-Out, Smashburger, etc. They are a lot more pricey and everything on their menu is separated, there are no combo options (I think)... I ordered the veggie burger which had a cheesy stuffed mushroom as the patty and the usual lettuce and tomatoes in it, which I believe was around $8. My bf got a regular hamburger, $8? We also ordered 2 sides of fries, and a milk shake. Total came out to $27...a significantly higher price to pay in comparison to other burger places. My bf says it's a great quality beef patty and I would say whoever thought of that mushroom burger was a damn genius, because it's just amazing and different. The shake and fries were alright. I've had better for a much cheaper price. Definitely will come back but not a place I'd visit often, unless I want to be broke. Not a burger and fries kind of gal but I can make an exception to this place once in awhile. After living in Buckhead for 10 years, I was mega excited to see life resurrected on these 2 blocks. My wife and I have driven past the SS nearly daily since their opening and the line has been predictably out the door. Even so, we decided to make the short walk from our home today. Line out the door, figures. We were surprised that it was only a 10 minute wait from outdoors to ordering. I went with a Shack Double, cheese fries, a 50/50 (Arnold Palmer), and a chocolate shake. My wife, nearly the same plus a beer. $36. We were once again surprised by the speed at which our food arrived. It was hot, fresh, and the employees were focused on getting it right the first time.
