Visited Willy's today after lunch around 2. Ther location on Howell Mill Rd. The staff was friendly, restrooms were clean. The beverage area was organized and clean. The lobby inside and out needed a little more attention but it was ok. The speed of service was great. There eas hardly anyone there. The problem is the food. They offer a brisket but it taste like sweet bbq pork. The quality of the product was very poor and the taste was even worse. I paid $14+ for this meal. Which was horrible. Sat the time of posting this review I still had not finished my burrito. Stick to Chipotle. The burritos are larger at Chipotle, they have more flavor. and is a better value for your money. read more

i was very pleased with my meal from here!!! they had so many options to choose from, wet burritos, nachos, tacos, taco bowls and salads! it's like chipotle but on steroids. staff was nice they seem to get along well as they were having a fun time behind the counter which made the experience more enjoyable. Got back from out of town my children were craving Willys. I got to this location at 9:26. They close at 10. Two of the three doors were locked but the open sign was clearly on and flashing. I go in the only open door. There is no salsa bar, no tea sweet or unsweetened and no lemonade. I go to order. They have no rice. No ground beef, no fajita vegetables. They didn't close for another 34 minutes but everything they didn't want to have to do at closing was already done. I asked them when they close? The female manager says 10. But she said it in a smart ass tone as if I work for her. I walked out. i drive around the back of the store and one of the employees cars is jacked up on blocks with a wheel missing. WTF? This location for years has been going down hill. It's by far the dirtiest, most rudely staffed Willys of all of them. I've been to most. I left and drove to West Paces where their restaurant was completely stocked with food and courteous happy employees. Willy time for a revamp and rehire the Howell Mill Store. Willy's is always my go to for nachos when I cant go to a more traditional/authentic place. Mu favorite are the Super Nachos with Queso instead of shredded cheese. Black Beans and Spicy Chicken...dont forget the fajita veggies...cilantro, fresh jalapenos, corn, guacamole and sour cream.... Today was no exception and since it's a build your own situation...I got everything I wanted AND a mixed frozen margarita to boot. Now I am not a fan of frozen my preference is on the Rocks but the cashier convinced me to try the frozen and I was a happy customer. I don't review lot of chains these days in particular - and I generally love Willy's above the other similar options - but this one deserves a couple of comments: It is consistently dirty! Surprising compared to the other locations (like the one near Ptree Battle and the WPF in the OK Cafe shopping center) - more surprising that it's that way pretty much all the time. Parking is also a challenge - with the apt building behind and it being so closely nestled by CFA, it seems a big lot with....not much room or enough spaces. The only time I really enjoy going to this one has nothing to do with the rice bowl I love- it's because my friend plays & sings there some weekend nights during spring and into early fall! read more

Never have been more upset. We love our Willys in East Cobb. Will never go to this one. Went to eat at a restaurant next to them. There were signs in the front saying No parking unless dining in their restaurant. Behind them, very had to tell parking is still for Willys if you enter in the back. Looks like that is just the case for one spot. Explained to them how we pulled in and how we had no idea the back area, in front of condos, could not be parked at. I asked how he knew we were even going to a different restaurant. He laughed and said he watched us park there. I guess that's how they stay in business Booting cars that have no idea they are parking in the wrong spot. Way to ruin a Fathers Day lunch with my husband and kids. I'm a new fan of willy's!! They give you really healthy portions, their toppings are always fresh and I like the selections! I've been getting the goal bowl lately which is basically a salad with a protein, pico de gallo and whatever other toppings you want to add. Super delicious! This post is over due, but I decided to try Willy's a few weeks ago. Upon entering, I noticed that it was very similar to MOES in terms on setup and how you order your food. I spoke with the employee at the front of the line and explained it was my first time trying the establishment. I knew I wanted a quesadilla, but was unsure of the type of protein. The employee allowed me to sample the three different types of chicken available, I ended up going with the Buffalo chicken. After receiving my order, the nice gentleman that helped me out initially revealed that he was the manager, I believe his name was Brandon and assured me that if I didn't like my quesadilla to come back and let them make it right. Willy's Howell Mill has been a reliable neighborhood standby for me for a solid decade+. I've gone through long stretches where I would come here on a weekly basis to grab dinner (a burrito + chips) on my way home from work. The food is filling, tastes good, is a great value, and the service is efficient. Not much more you can ask for. Atlanta has a lot of Mission-style burrito (those giant, "overstuffed" burritos) restaurants, Moe's and Chipotle being the most prominent. However, if given a choice, I'd probably choose Willy's or Bell Street Burritos most of the time. In my experience, the freshness of ingredients across the aforementioned brands is comparable, but Willy's meats have more flavorful marinades and thus, better taste. This is very much a casual joint where you walk up and order. All of the ingredients are laid out before you and everything is made from scratch. Their popular items are burritos, tacos, and quesadillas. After tax, expect to spend about $7.00 per burrito, $3.00 per taco, and $6.00-$7.00 per quesadilla depending on size. I almost always get a burrito. The two meats I order the most in my burritos are the Adobe Chicken (char-grilled chicken marinated in red-chile adobe sauce) and Cilantro-Garlic Steak (char-grilled sirloin steak marinated in cilantro-garlic sauce). By default, the burritos come with rice, beans (black or pinto), salsa, and jack cheese. I usually get black beans with mine and add sour cream, cilantro, jalapeno, black olives, and guacamole. Guac is an extra $0.90. Other premium toppings include roasted red peppers, grilled green peppers and onions, and corn salsa ($0.50 each). The meats are typically thick, juicy, and hearty. A self-serve salsa bar is located in the center of the restaurant and has several different types of salsa including: Chipotle - smoky red sauce Tomatillo - tangy green sauce Habanero - spicy red sauce Chili D'Arbol - aromatic burnt orange sauce I always like to grab some of these to-go. They are dirty. They don't wear hairnets , don't wash their hands & always cleaning. ESPECIALLY around their food. Last night I had a long string of hair in my burrito. It wasn't even rolled all the way. Literally made my stomach hurt. The other day I visited them they were cleaning ( spraying cleaning products )inside where they place the food with the some of the food still inside & got upset when we didn't wanna eat there. Completely disgusted by the lack of food safety at this location. I walked in at 6:02 pm this evening and was standing in line to get a take out burrito. I noticed one employee was leaning over the cold bar items (the cheese salsa corn etc) and eating her own bowl of what looked like a corn/bean salsa openly over the food to be served to customers. She was tossing it with a spoon and it was spilling onto the counter and into the open food containers to be served to customers. She was not changing gloves or washing hands between taking bites and working on people's burrito either. I left the restaurant as I was extremely disgusted and did not want to eat food potentially contaminated by her own. I've been coming to the location for over 10 years but will not be back after this. If this is what employees do openly there's no telling what other food safety regulations they ignore. read more

WOW!! I have to tell you guys how much I loved this place. This was my first time coming ( why does my husband keep acting like he doesn't try new places without me) ...clearly he has been here before . I was not feeling my sassy best, so I didn't really want to eat. However!!!!!! This could not have gone better. I had a burrito with tofu! Most glorious burrito I ever had! I loved that you can taste the meat to see how it is before choosing your protein. The veggies were fresh and crispy. The chips were so thin and crisp ( the way they should be) The burrito was so power packed by the time I was done creating it, I couldn't believe the gentleman behind the counter was going to be able to close it...but he did! Let's start off to say I was a fiend for chipotle but now this has become my go to. I stop here quite frequently for lunch each week and must I say I've never been let down. The quality of the food and service is phenomenal. One May 5th a drink was made by Renee (GM)which was good. However, the mix that is normally used was out. So the GM did great by apologizing for the inconvenience and suggesting I'd try something else. I trusted her suggestion and she made one of the best margaritas I've ever had from a chain restaurant. I believe Willy's should promote that their is a bar inside the restaurant because like myself no one hardly notices it being in the corner. I would give Willy's 10 thumbs up if u could. The best way to describe this place is... better than chipotle lol. It has the same vibes, but to me is more authentic. I wouldn't compare it to traditional Mexican cuisine, but it is good for fast food. The black beans seem to be a bit bland, but all other ingredients they use seem to be very fresh, and tasty. As far as meats I've had the steak, and spicy chicken from there. The steak tastes okay, I just wish both meats were a bit more tender. I've had a burrito bowl, and burrito from Willy's. Both weren't bad, I was satisfied for the most part. I'd have to say I enjoyed the bowl more than the burrito. This place serves margaritas, prepare to have your ID handy! There's a bar area, but I enjoy my drink on the patio. The strawberry margarita I had was pretty weak but tasty, so if you're a light drinker they might be perfect for you. If you're a heavier drinker, request more alcohol and let me know how it goes lol! Even though this place serves drinks it's VERY KID FRIENDLY. Willy's and Chipotle are probably my two favorite quick-service tex-mex options. If I'm craving nachos, you can find me at Willy's. Because I'm not a big fan of queso (blasphemous, I know...), I love that they do the broiler nachos with melted cheese. The chips get a little brown and it's wonderful. I generally go with either the sinaloa or adobo chicken, both of which are great options. Sinaloa for the non-spicy option, and the adobo for those who like the heat. Their portions are very generous and probably would take two sittings to finish. This location can be a little out of the way for a workday lunch, especially with the lunch time traffic on Howell Mill though, so I would take that in to consideration when coming here during the week. read more

I know these can be hectic times, but take a second and look at what you're putting in the bags. If we got someone else's order then that means you've actually screwed up two orders and if it's through Postmates then that means we just waited an hour for something that, in some cases, we can't even eat. Willy's doesn't seem to be much for looks; it has the appearance of a cheap fast food place, and it's honestly not very fancy. That being said, I had the steak and cilantro garlic burrito and it was definitely a step above Moe's. I'd actually say it was on the same level as Chipotle. The burrito was dense and big, with a decent amount of the toppings I'd asked for. I could also have got more salsa if I wanted at the available salsa bar. This is a good americanized mexican place overall, and I can see myself coming back here for a cheap and filling mexican style meal. Everyone has been telling me I have to try this Atlanta favorite so I decided to give it a go and fulfill my margarita craving! Similar to your typical order at the counter Mexican, they have bowls, burritos, tacos, quesadillas, salads, and of course, lots of queso AND a full bar from 4-10 p.m- don't worry you can get margs any time of day though! The whole menu is gluten free with the exception of their flor tortillas!!! I got the adobe chicken bowl with rice and black beans with fresh toppings. In terms of flavor, I've didn't think my bowl was the most flavorful one I've ever had but the ingredients tasted fresh- I just expected the chicken to be spicier! For the price, everything is a really good deal as you get complimentary chips and salsa with every meal! They do have a salsa bar with an array of different salsa, my fave being the tomatillo and hot one. I was most impressed with the margaritas because they can go either way in terms of alcoholic balance. They have them by the glass or you can also get a pitcher for a very reasonable price. I've been a frequent patron of the Howell Mill Willy's location ever since I moved to the area 15 years ago. Prior to the pandemic, the service was always super quick, even when the restaurant was packed. During the pandemic slower service was expected, but I've been patiently waiting far too long without seeing any improvement in service speed or quality at this location. I come at least once a week and oftentimes feel like I'd be better off placing a mobile order to save myself the wait time since it seems like they prioritize those over customers waiting in store. There is no ounce of urgency coming from the employees making the food. I'm often only one of at most four people in line and it takes at least 10 minutes to move through when I used to be able to be in and out in 5 minutes regularly. Last week, the line was backed up to the door, which felt like the good old days, but it took me 30 minutes to get through to the checkout. My son went in tonight for dinner and there were 10 people in front of him. It took 25 minutes to move through the line. With at least 2 people working the food line, this shouldn't be the case. Alas, none of the employees seem to care about what's going on. What has happened? Is there no manager who prides themselves on running an efficient establishment? Entering this restaurant is like stepping into a slow-motion video. You'd think with the snail-pace the employees would be diligently making orders, but about half of the time I come they forget items in my order. I keep coming back hopeful that something has changed because it used to be so good, but each recent visit I leave disappointed and frustrated. Seeing the lack of concern for decent service from the employees, I don't even want to think about what they probably lack in food safety procedures. This place is absolutely filthy (floor is extremely dirty and sticky consistently now, tables and chairs are always dirty, behind the glass near the food doesn't look clean either). Food quality has gone way down. Staff is not friendly and often times gets orders wrong especially when they stack bowls (ie first person in a group gets the 2nd person's bowl down the line) and they don't seem to care about anything. We've given them more chances than they deserve. Today was the last straw - never going back. Stay away and spend your money elsewhere. read more
