Slowest service, food kept under a warmer to long... if you have a connecting flight stay away from here if you don't have the time...

Been here a handful of times recently flying through. Food is basically as good as most shake shacks, except it is usually not as hot by the time you get it. The service is ridiculously bad and not at all what you expect from shake shacks in my experience going to multiple locations in different cities and states. Every time I have been here it has taken a shockingly long time. Regularly 30 minutes or more. And they usually have given me an inaccurate wait time. To make matters worse, the manager or de facto manager on duty does not help out the rest of the staff when they have a lot of orders/behind. Manager does not help bag orders that are ready, instead the cashier has to stop taking new orders to bag orders. So in addition to the long wait, multiple times I have had to wait 5 minutes or more looking at my order getting colder. Management should really intervene. Makes the shake shack brand and Danny Meyer look bad. read more

I ordered a burger with lettuce and tomato and when I took my burger with the right number I went away and found a place where to sit and when open my burger to eat ...ohh surprise no lettuce neither tomato... I had to then go back and told them and the woman was upset and took my burger and throw it to the garbage with hate and went to tell the cook and they were looking at me with anger and when she grab another burger with lettuce and Tomato, she gave it to me with anger and she didn't apologize at all!!! I like the burgers here. It tastes the same as other Shake Shack, except the price is a bit of a shock. Not really. It's actually not more expensive compared to other places. The service is decent and it didn't take too long for me to get my burger and fries. I recommend coming here if you want some burgers. read more

What do you do when you have hours of layover here at this Charlotte airport. Thankfully, saw this shake shack fast food restaurant here so I can enjoy some quick bite and rest up happily with my full stomach before connecting to my next flight back home. Ordered my favorite shroom burger and food quality is super consistent just like how I remembered I used to have back in NY and other places. Never can go wrong with ordering this crispy Montebello with melted cheese in between and added with lettuce and tomato and a lightly spread of thousand island on inner side of the bread. The whole Shroom Burger got devoured in no time because it was that delicious :) LOVE IT!!! read more

Service was absolutely horrid. Had an hour layover and waited 30 minutes of it to not get my food as my boarding time was getting close. When I asked for a refund, they coldly responded "we can't do refunds without a manager" and was given a ton of attitude by the staff. Total BS. Enjoy my money you stole. Don't stop here if you want something quick between flights. They'll screw you and not care. You'd think an airport food kiosk would prioritize speed but not here. This is possibly one of the worst places I have ever eaten and worst service. Young girl handing out food was very rude, seemed like she absolutely did NOT want to be there, food was slapped together and coffee was not honors than light brown water. This "shake" shack has no shakes. Good thing high prices are accompanied by exceedingly slow service. It's not like anyone has a flight to catch. Watched the person filling orders line up 20 empty paper bags rather than placing the 5-10 orders waiting to be bagged into the bags. Typical high calorie but totally worth it Shake Shack. Not sure of their normal hours since they serve breakfast but they opened around 9am on the day I visited. Staff was very friendly. Not super organized as my order got lost in the mix. But once an employee saw me standing there she asked my order, updated me on the status while it was being prepared. Nice that they serve breakfast until 1030 but would like to see the salted caramel shake :) read more

I travel for work and connect thru CLT twice a week. The last three weeks I have stopped by Shake Shack because they sell a healthy breakfast sandwich with egg whites. I have ordered this sandwich three weeks in a row and I have been told they are out of egg whites three weeks in a row. When I asked why they are out every Monday morning the response was "we are always out they should just take it off the menu". . Oh well guess I won't be visiting this location anymore. read more

Ordered a hamburger and repeated my topping order several times cause cashier was more interested in personal conversations than the line of 40 people. Also only one cashier??? I noticed he charged me for add on items I did not request and he mocked me repeatedly for asking for a refund. Then I noticed the rest of the order was messed up, I just asked for a full refund and cancelled the order. 25 minutes in line and no food to show for it. What did I order that was so difficult? If you're in a hurry for your flight, don't stop here, if you have a long layover, don't stop here either. It took 31 minutes from placing our order until we received it, then when we got back to the table the bacon cheese fries that I paid for were just cheese fries. Pick a different spot or go to one of the sit down restaurants because I can't believe the price is much different, it's got to be better than here! read more

When you are hungry and the food is so good that you forget to take a picture...yes that was me and yes this place is SO GOOD! I got a double shake burger with fries, and all was well with the world . The burger is melt in your mouth delicious and the fries are pretty much addictive. Next time I must try a shake to go along with the meal. It is definitely worth it and will be my spot at the CLT airport going forward. read more

Took 20 mins to be acknowledged and when I was, it was argumentative. The old lady at the counter and the manager started mouthing off to a lady who just wanted her kids burger recooked (it was an old hard patty and burnt), the manager kept gaslighting her and the cracked out co worker kept added her unasked for opinion to be simply rude. Service was sub par. Toni took our order and had the biggest attitude she seemed mad at us for ordering 15 minutes before they close along with other people who were ordering before and after us. Its an airport people get in a weird times and want food. And you all are still open.. Overall she just seemed pissed off she had to still work.The rest of the staff was very friendly and helpful. Worst Service Ever. Waited 15 minutes for food. There were about 15 people in Front of me waiting for food which they never received. Seems like all the staff went on break at the same time. Everyone started asking for a refund. Instead of apologizing for the wait. The cashier told me I only waited for 15 minutes. This girl just needed a shake! So, why did I have to wait a 1/2 hour for one? The young man working the register, seemed clueless! I was asking about other things on the dessert menu and he was looked at me like I was a ghost, then he proceeded to tell me that whatever I was looking for was not being offered. I don't think he really knew what I was referring to because he did not know the menu well. Then, onto the waiting portion. That took forever! Like... my flight from Baton Rouge to Charlotte took less time. I started to get annoyed when I saw people who ordered full meals after me were starting to get their orders. I saw a lone shake cup lingering on the counter and I had to go up to the pick-up area and ask if that was my order. It was indeed mine! They have to come up with a better system, especially when they are super busy... and the line never seemed to let up, so it was really busy that time. Whenever I fly into that airport, I will never go to Shake Shack every again!! I had a pretty big order so the 25-30 minute wait to get my food was okay. However when I did get it I was missing some items. (Knew to look right away because up to this point they had messed up 3-4 orders). Went back and told them about it and got a dirty look and the cook began to whisper and I could hear her say. They need to update their availability times. It's not hard to update your hours. Don't tell me your closing early ebacuse your understaffed. Fix your hours and come correct. I've had connecting flights all day and all I was looking forward to was shake shack and I was in line at 7:20 and was approached and told they're closing early due to low staff. Worst Shake Shack I've ever experienced. I waited 15 minutes in line- not unusual for a standard SS visit. Fries undercooked. Shake was really milky and not the normal consistency. Manager was verbally rude to register employee when she asked for an override on a customer in front of me. Upon receiving my food, same manager called my name. I asked for som Shake Shack sauce (just like you'd do at Chick-fil-A or Canes)- we go there for the house sauces, right? His response to me was loud and extremely aggressive "you're suppose to pay for that ashen you order! It's a dollar!" I simply said I'm sorry I didn't know that. Then he just stared at me. I looked at him and turned away while other guests had eye contact with me after being shamed in public. I'm a pretty forgiving guy. And I give grace to people. Had a long layover, was so pleased to see a shake shack while walking through the terminal. It had been years since I'd been to one. The line was very long (truly a part of the Shake Shack experience) but moved pretty quickly. The staff was kind and efficient, despite the restaurant being very busy and having to deal with rude, even openly racist, customers on top of that. Have heard all the hype about Shake Shack and decided to try it while waiting for a connecting flight in Charlotte. Well, the verdict is in and they do not live up to the hype. They fell way short and completely missed the mark. If you name is Shake Shack, it's best hat you do not run out of shakes. It is what you are known for. The burger was ok. I asked for extra onions and they placed only one darn onion ring on my burger and unasked for extra onions. The fries were good, as burger joints should only serve crinkly cut or steak fries. Anything else does not compare. Yet I could not get a shake at the Shake Shack. There are several locations in the Bay Area and I do not think will not be patronizing this chain in the future.
