I have come a few times with my family and maybe thats why there is no sticker shock for a burger. The quality is there but the price is steep for a burger and glass of water. 14.20 for a mushroom double stack with tap water? However the quality keeps you coming back for more. I would however come back even more if they got their pricing in line with a fast food plus location. I am not cheap but I can name a few burger places that are just as good in quality and have their pricing in line. They make up the difference in the side options that Shake Shack doesn't offer. read more

Religious cheeseburger experience. The BBQ bacon cheese fries are so crinkly-crunchy on the outside and soft on the inside. Just perfection. I ordered take-out and they packaged everything so orderly that my fries stayed crispy with all condiments separated in ramekins. This is what brings people back because I hate soggy fries. Oh God, what a treasure this place turned out to be. They should have left this place in California or wherever it originated. I love animals, but my food should not be serve/handled by whomever is serving my Dogs food (weird). Last time I checked, I am still walking on 2 legs. I tried this place once and seriously don't understand the big deal. Aside from the place looking like a prison scene there is nothing extraordinary about them. Burgers were equal to anything you'd get at McDonald's, so why pay more? The location is the only great thing as it is inside the mall and apart from the food court. If you love Chipotle ( my brainless social zombies), I'm sure you'll love this place too! For the people who do think and taste for themselves, please tread carefully. read more

So I've confirmed my fast casual burger ranking. Still gets a 4 because when you are ranking burgers, you are already starting from a place of deliciousness. Very good but still ranks behind In/Out, Five Guys and Smashburger in my book. The burger was yummy but just a little too much in the flavor which took away from the pure burger taste. Got the Bacon Cheese Fries. Fries and Bacon were good but not a fan of the cheese whizz-y sauce. Had a Concrete which, again, just had a little too much going on. They are obviously working hard for the artisan feel and succeeding, but for a burger purist there are other great options out there. read more

Never disappointed! Burgers always come out super fresh and tasty. Service is pretty quick and the staff are nice. Theres plenty of seating even when it gets busy. There's also outdoor seating which is great when the weather is nice. This place is attached to the mall so you can shop around before or after eating! The only bad thing is that parking is hard to find on the weekends (except Sunday cause the mall isn't open that day). read more

This is a very well known joint which now is expanding all over the world. Since it is a franchise, I really don't expect the quality of ingredient different from other ones I have tried. If I have to point some good things about this place in particular, first of all there is shorter wait time for the food especially on weekdays. Fries are more crispy and fresh for the same reason. As always you can't go wrong with Shake Shack! This is the main SS in ny for reason everyone wants to go to the one is MadSq Park. I prefer other locations because they aren't as busy as this on. Sure it's in a mall, but you don't have to stand in the snow in the park to wait for that piping hot mouthful of awesomeness. The potato buns, the meat seasoned and cooked however you like, paired with perfectly cooked crinkle cut fries. Root beer, on tap, my favorite. No matter the location, a burger from Shake Shack never disappoints. Simple, elegant and delicious. I have tried their hot dogs as well, and again, top ingredients lead to yummy goodness. Shake Shack will always be a "last meal" contender for me. Conveniently located, and it's not in the food court. I walked into shake shack right before closing time, and nonetheless the food is amazing (as always) but what I was extremely disappointed at was the management. I wish I would have gotten her name because the way she spoke to her employees was awful. At one point the manager told one of the girls cooking/cleaning " I don't want to hear any chit chat or hear or see you laughing!" There was about 10 other customers there in the establishment and they heard the managers yelling from all the way across the restaurant. I am personally offended by this because I am a manager myself (for the past 7years) in a restaurant and I would NEVER speak to my employees like that. That is not a sign of great leadership, by belittling people. I understand that a manager has to be on top of everything and correct people when they are wrong but the way she was speaking to these girls was so inappropriate, she even turned the music back on and told me and my family personally, "let me turn up the music so that you won't hear me yelling" I will return for the food but I will definitely be taking it to-go for next time. read more

I had a horrible experience at the other Shake Shack of Paramus, and the Shake Shack administration gave me a $10 complementary card so that I could give them a second chance. I was at the mall and I saw this location and decided to give it a try. The Shack burger was good but a little bit overdone and the bun was covered with some sort of oil. On the other hand, the fries were perfectly crispy. But the highlight of the day was a gentleman that worked there. He didn't have a name tag, but he was a Latino man with a mustache, the only one there with a button down shirt (maybe the manager?). I saw him as soon as I went in, for he was cleaning all over the place. After we were done with our food, he approached us and very respectfully asked if we wanted him to take our tray. He took it and said thanks and kept on cleaning the place. We waited for my daughter to finish her drink and then we headed outside. We saw him on our way out and very humbly he smiled and raised his hand as if saying bye. He was so humble and nice, it made my evening. 3.5 stars because although the food wasn't outstanding, the service was, so I might go again and try their chicken sandwich, maybe I'll like it better. read more

In a town filled with burger joints, this one stands alone. A little pricey as far as a franchise burger goes but totally worth it. My recommendation is a double shack burger with lettuce, tomato and shack sauce. The crinkle cut fries are good too. Get them with shack sauce or BBQ bacon. Great burger. My only complaint would be that they tend to prepare their burgers 'well done," whereas the NYC locations consistently serve burgers with just a bit of pink. Maybe the customer traffic is less in Paramus, making it more difficult to match the grilling operation to the ordering without increasing the wait time. All that said, even a well done burger at shake shack is incredibly juicy and flavorful. I don't understand why anyone would go to a casual restaurant for a burger when they can get a superior burger at a lower price a shake shack. The fries are boring to write home about but I don't go to shake shack for the fries. read more

Just had my first Shake Shack experience. Wow was it great! Walked into a nice clean restaurant up to the cashier, who happened to be the manager, John. His service was remarkable. He was polite and very helpful during my visit. We sat down to the table and he came right over and asked if he can wipe down the table for us. Then when the order came out, I didn't know that there was shake shack sauce. I'm sure it's good, but special sauces aren't really my thing. We went up to the counter and John let us reorder and keep our original order free of charge. John even offered us a take home bag for that original burger. The entire time the manager, John, had the best and most positive attitude you can have in the food industry. He is exactly what you want in a manager and should be used as an example to all other managers in the company. Thank you for making this a memorable experience. Cheers! read more

This was my first shake shack experience and I was having difficulty with what to order (decisions, decisions). Ashley was very understanding and offered suggestions. I went with the original shake shack burger and fries with cheese. She recommended I try the shakes and/or custard as well but i decided to wait until the meal was over. Everything was superb! The burger was juicy and had fresh lettuce and tomatoes. I will ask for extra spread next time. While I was busy chewing away, Ashley, came up and offered me a coupon to try the custard. This was completely unexpected and an appreciated surprise. While I'm an avid in n out person (as I live in LA), shake shack's food and service especially was beyond my expectation. read more

Came here on Saturday night with my sister. We ordered the SmokeShack burger and it was SO GOOD. They even tell you how many calories are in every food item but if your going to a burger joint you might as well go all in, right? We also had strawberry shakes which I believe only comes in one size but any bigger and I would have been stuffed! Food is delicious. Staff is usually friendly.
