The best fast food you will find. Ordered the shake burger and it did not disappoint. It tastes fresh and not like other fast food burgers. We also tried the chicken sandwich which was also delicious. If I had to choose I would just stick with the burgers. The cheese fries are also addicting. The cheese is not your normal cheese wiz. It is not as think and has a lighter taste to it. It was good and i would recommend it. The burgers are on the smaller side so get a couple or the double if you come. Getting Shake Shack used to mean going into NYC until this location and one on rt. 17 opened a few years ago. I actually don't like their burgers...but I like the hot dogs and french fries. The chicken burger was extremely greasy but the chicken seemed like good quality before it was fried. The herb mayo wasn't my thing, but ranch and Frank's hot sauce would have made this better. Thats just my preferred type of chicken sandwich. The space becomes high here especially at night on the weekends as the mall closes. Lots of high school kids too. They have lots of seating and a couple of picnic tables outside, weather permitting. My go to is a double Shake Burger, side of fries, and a chocolate shake. Either the burger is smaller than I remember or I was just ravenously hungry. The menu has all the same Shake Shack regulars, but with some specials. Here they feature a special custard each week. I really enjoy Shake Shack burgers. They are juicy with a lot of flavor. The burgers are on the smaller side (which is not a bad thing for me because I typically don't eat big portions). Deliciousness. Got patty, soft potato buns and fixins! I love coming to shake shack! This experience was a little different cause in watching calories so no fries, no shake but their shakes are divine! What I liked was that they had the calories written right on the board so you can make a conscious decision (gosh darn accountability). How Shake Shack is better: their fries are better and they have cheese. Their burger here IS quality and very tasty. More selection of stuff on the burger here: bacon, shallots, and hot dogs. Plus they are SUPER FRIENDLY and courteous. I was going to pay for extra cheese sauce and they just gave me some. Their milkshakes are WAY better than In and Out. In and Out is way to sugary sweet and milky. Shake Shack is more balanced and thicker. I definitely like the burgers and fries here but I still choose In and Out because of the price. read more

Once upon a time, I used to wait over two hours for Shake Shack burgers because there was only one location -- Madison Square Park. Thankfully, those days are long gone. And now, I don't even have to venture to the Rt. 17 location anymore either! Conveniently hidden away in Garden State Mall in Paramus, this Shake Shack offers the full menu AND the crinkle-cut fries. (I'll ignore that brief stage when some of their locations stopped offering them. Pfff!) The location's decor echoes the brands NYC park roots with its utilitarian gray paneled walls, stainless steel counters, and sleek-lined wooden tables and chairs. Their outdoor seating area is even bordered with planters filled with rich green fake grass! If I closed my eyes, I'd almost think I was in Madison Square Park. The food is spot on! They even have the second line specifically for drink and frozen concrete orders. And unlike most of the Manhattan locations, you'll receive your food within 5-10 minutes. It was my first time trying the burgers from Shake Shack, so I was pretty stoked to find out that there's a branch inside GSP. It's located on the second floor, on the same side as Macy's. I was here around lunch yesterday, and was surprised to see it pretty calm. There weren't many people eating at the time. I like how there is seating right outside the main dining area. Shoutout to the staff for keeping the tables clean, by the way. Double SmokeShack: Although it is a bit smaller than similarly-themed places, the quality of my burger was great. The buns were soft, while the burger patties were perfectly cooked; they were soft, almost crumbling with the melted cheese. This burger comes with plenty of crispy bacon and chopped cherry peppers, which added just a hint of sweetness. The crispy crinkle fries I ordered (separate from the burger) were hot and fresh from the fryer. We also ordered the Chick'n Shack and the Shack Stack. I did not taste either of them, but there were no complaints for either order. The condiments, utensils, and napkins are on the right side of the counters. For it's price, the burgers were a bit small but our burgers were made well; we were happy with the quality. The bottled water may seem pricey, but you do get a pretty large bottled water (Shack2o, not Kirkland or Poland Spring). I'll be back for another Double SmokeShack for sure. read more

Today I walked in for the very first time to a shake shack and boy was I hungry, eating for two is definitely an understatement. I proceeded to the register which for some reason there was no line which in my case was awesome. Being that it was my first time I wanted to ask what in their opinion was the best burger the guy asked if I liked spice, bacon and cheese and my mouth watered and I replied with a quick hell yeah. So I decided on a Smoke Shack burger which came with L,T,P,bacon, cheese and cherry peppers. I also went on to add fried shallots which are basically fried crunchy onions strings. Which I came to find on my bill was an extra $1(wow). To finalize my order I got a strawberry shake and cheese fries thus the total came out to $18.07, (just for fries, a not so big burger and a shake) I must admit my reason for the 3 Stars was being that the burger was pretty good however if you do ever get it, you're better off with either leaving the cherry peppers out or on the side. They were wayyyyyyyy to salt completely damaging the taste of the burger leaving you with a salty taste in your mouth after every bite and trust me I put salt on everything but mixed in with ketchup, the crunchy onions, pickles and shack sauce it was way to salty. However that didn't stop me from completely devouring the burger I just simply took out the cherry peppers and went about chewing. The meat was moist and paired with the potato bun it was definitely a good combination. The cheese fries in my book were not great. The fries were salted in seemed much like other fries in fast food joints are which is by s salt shaker as soon as they come out the oil to then have a pile of cheese that's already salty mounted on top. So guess what you're going to get salty cheese fries. I was perfectly fine eating the ones that didn't have cheese on them which was a bummer I love cheese fries. But overall I believe if you like cheese get it on the side. The fries on their own are really good and crunchy. The shake had to be the highlight of my whole experience, it was what really made it. The first gulp I took was amaziiinggggg, strawberry goodness. It was thick, milky and a lil on the sweet side but that's just how I like it. However for 6$ I believe the cup should've been bigger the size for the price you pay makes it a little less enjoyable but anyways thanks for a great shake just wished there was more to actually finish my burger with. Overall, I'm extremely glad I tried it because it's officially out of my system. It's not worth it for the price and for the food. Honestly I rather go to five guys where they now also make yummy shakes and wisely spend there $18.07 but instead get two good size burgers which in my opinion are better tasting, great fries and a shake. Not to mention refills when you purchase a drink. All in all I won't be returning to a shake shack any time soon. read more

No we did not go to the Paramus one because we knew it was closed! Just in case you were wondering. This was his first time there and he really enjoyed it, I talked it up so much so I'm glad it lived up to his expectations. The fries are just amazing, I love crinkle fries. We ordered a black and white shake on our way out and I seriously LOVE their shakes. Perfect thickness and flavor to the shake. Yes, this can be expensive for a burger and fries, but you're not going everyday (or at least I hope you're not). It's a nice treat every once in a while. There is a ton of seating. I would be surprised if you couldn't find a seat. TVs to watch while you're eating and clean bathroom. Yeaaa the Shake Shack again! This time I was at the Garden State Plaza location - it was packed, and rightfully so! My lady and I had the Smoke Shack and the Shack Stack burgers...both were delicious! That Shack Sauce makes those burgers. I think I favored the Shack Stack over the Smoke Shack because of that portobello mushroom. These are small burgers, so keep in mind that you can get a double if your appetite is hungry for more. Anyway, the fries were also really really good, and I was pleased to find that they have Grape Fanta! Finally, other Fantas are getting on the map! Anyway, one con is just that the place at first looks like a mad-house because of so many mall goers getting their grub on. So be weary of that. Also, be weary of the wait for your food, as it took about 10 minutes before the food arrived. Maybe on a less busier day (we were out there on a Saturday night) we would have received our food faster. Like the Stock, I think the hype of Shake Shack is going away. This location is convenient and I'm happy it's not near the food court. Depending on the time you go the seating might be hard to come by. I would not try dining in here on Saturday. I agree with many people that the burger does tastes like five guys but without the all night meat burps. My Fiancé loves the crinkle fries because they are extra crispy. This chain is new in the mall. I don't know how the crowd is on the weekends, but I usually go around 6:30PM on a weekday so there's never any line at all. My friend and I always get a burger each with cheese fries and a milkshake to share. I'm not a huge burger fan, but this shake shack burger is the bomb.... especially after studying all day with only a salad for lunch. I want to try the smoke shack, but it might be too salty for my taste. The cheese fries are always reaaaally good. The crinkle cut has a lot of potato and it's extra crispy which I like. I always want one more bite after I finish the burger which I think is the perfect amount. What I really like about the workers here that I usually don't see in any other fast food restaurant is that they're very friendly. I've gone to the GSP one four times now and every single time I'm given my tray, the employee will give it with a smile on her face. It's not even a polite, slight upturn of the corners of the mouth kind of smile. She seems like she genuinely wants me to have a good meal unlike McDonald's employees who look like they're ready to kill me.... Seating-wise, it's much more comfortable than the ones in Manhattan. Maybe it's because I usually come when there's no line, but the tables aren't designed to be shared with people to the left and right of you, trying to jostle for more space. When I saw they had one at GSP, I was excited. Meh.....this one was ok. The burger wasn't bad....it was cooked well and looked appetizing, it was just very bland. I remember the shake sauce being more flavorful and adding more to the burger. Don't know if they changed their recipe or what. Fries were good. Not great, but passable for this French fry snob. Two words: Shack Stack! For me, this burger is what brings me to Shake Shack. It's juicy, salty and oh so cheesy! It's a cheeseburger with all their fixins (including Shack Sauce) topped with the fried cheese stuffed mushroom, unreal! They put a sticker on it warning you that it's hot (temperature wise) and they don't lie. Try and wait for that cheese to cool down so you can properly enjoy. All the locations consistently have solid decent burgers available. I had a long lunch for Jury Duty and decidided to try the BBQ chicken sandwich. Wow is all I can say. I found a hair in my cheeseburger. I went to shake shack about 3 weeks ago at the Gsp mall. I was very excited to have shake shack after a long time of not coming to this place. I was very disappointed when I took the first bite of the cheeseburger I was so eager to eat. There was a long hair inside the burger patty, which was disgusting and disappointing. The staff was nice and gave another burger, but I think I should've asked for a refund since I had lost my appetite after that first bite. I've had bad luck with this chain of fast food, but I had decided to give it another chance. I can now say officially that was my last time I'll ever eat at shake shack ever again.
