Burgers are delicious (hands down one of my favorites). I will typically order a double Shack Burger with pickles and peppers (I can't recommend this enough). The Shack Stack with it's combo of beef burger and veg (panko breaded portobello mushroom cap with cheese) is amazing also. I have never liked the crinkle cut fries (standard frozen crap; nothing special). They did for a short time move to a delicious fresh cut fry but for some reason people protested and they brought the crinkle cut (there is no accounting for taste....) Custards and concretes are tasty also. Surprisingly, I have never ordered a Shake at the Shake Shack?!?!? N.J. locations, sadly, currently do not offer alcohol. The only thing that would make the Shack better is a Shack Chard or a Shackmeister Ale. read more

This was actually my first time at a Shake Shack. My boyfriend and I were greeted by the sweetest employee. There was nobody in line so we were able to look at the menu with people huffing and puffing behind us. We ordered then were given the buzzer and within 10 minutes we were buzzed to get our food. The interior is very modern and super clean. I ordered the regular shack burger and my boyfriend ordered the double bacon cheese burger with the side of cheese fries. There are plenty of options on the menu so we will be returning to explore some more because this place is lit! read more

I visited Shake Shack for the first time on 5/2/17. You order at the counter, pay for your meal, they give you a little buzzer thing (whatever it's called), and buzz you when your order is ready to pick up. I ordered the Shackburger, fries and a drink. My friend, who has dined in this particular store, said that the shakes are phenomenal, but I still had work to do and didn't have time to take a nap after a huge shake. Our food was prepared quickly and we were notified to come and get it. The burger, while a bit pricey and small, was pretty damn good. The fries were hot and crispy. When we were almost through, an employee stopped by our table and removed the tray and asked if he could get us anything. Nice touch in a restaurant of this type. My friend had ordered an extra burger for later (he had to work late into the evening), so he asked for a bag for his sandwich. The employee brought him a bag, took my empty cup, and thanked us for dining at Shake Shack. I'll be back. I really want to try one of those shakes! read more

Favorite Favorite Favorite!!!! If you like burgers - you have to try this at least once! The burger meat is seasoned well and omg tastes so fresh - melts in my mouth every friggin time! The one downside to one of the burgers is the portabello mushroom burger - which is literally stuffed with cheese - but BECAREFUL! It's good for what it is: fast food. However, I'm not sure if the taste really makes up for the perpetual long lines and lack of seating. I understand that they expect people to take out and they're doing what they can with the space they have, but they may want to ask the mall if they can get more seating. At one point I debated bringing the food to the food court. Overall, I'd go back if there wasn't a line, but don't think it's worth the wait/work to look for a table. read more

As far as fast food burgers go this is the best option in my opinion. I have tried every burger on their menu and came to the conclusion that my favorite right now is the SmokeShack double. I can't get enough of that cherry pepper relish and Niman ranch smoked bacon. SO GOOD. Other ones worth trying are the shackstack burger with the stuffed portobello on it, and a standard shack burger but make it the double! Fries are good too, usually they are crinkle cut, but one time when I came they were like the standard type of fry you'd get anywhere else. If possible I would give negative stars. Never really had a problem with shake shack before but this is the end all for me. me n my friend ordered about 40$ worth of food and take it back to our office. My friend takes a heaping bite and comes out with a mouthful of hair. Ok maybe that's an exaggeration but there was atleast 4 strands of thick black hair.(see photo). I just came from a trip to California, so I had the taste of In-N-Out fresh in my mind, and of course wanted to have a Shack burger again for comparison. There's a beauty to a Shack burger when it comes out. It's not from the grease stained paper that wraps it. It's beneath of that. There's a strikingly vivid red and green coming from the tomato and crisp lettuce that sit between the patty and the bun. When first biting in, you feel that the bun is immensely soft, even silky, as it touches your mouth. In fact, so much so, it's reminding of a brioche. The tomato, an afterthought usually, is actually flavorful to the taste, unlike others. The patty is truly exceptional for a commercial chain; it tastes like its a cut above. It's fresh and a little crispy on the exterior for texture. The sauce complements the beef well. It's wholesome, but not overpowering, so it adds a richness to the patty. Quality of ingredients truly sets Shake Shack apart. The unfortunate reality though is that it comes at a premium. A single Shack burger with a small soda will set you back $8-9, while not fully satiating the average appetite. Shocking but this was my first time ever trying Shake Shack and I'm obsessed. I went simple and ordered a shack burger with cheese. My family was in from Texas and ordered custard. The burger was perfect, probably one of the best I've had in a while. The burger itself was not too greasy and all the ingredients tasted super fresh. We also had an order of cheese fries which we not greasy at all and the cheese tasted like actual cheese, not like junk that came pre made (which it very well may have been). As a sucker for Arnold Palmers, I orders a fifty fifty and it was really light, which I appreciated. They actually mix their iced tea and lemonade. Since the tea is unsweetened, the claim a large is only 110 calories. It was not overly sweet by any means and so refreshing I picked another one up on my way out! The custard was good and everyone left full and happy. Overall I really love that shake shack lives up to the hype. I was for sure super skeptical. Looking forward to my next time which may just be tomorrow lol, I enjoyed it that much! P.s. My husband and I stopped in for a quick lunch one Saturday afternoon, and I was pleasantly surprised. We had gone to Shake Shacks other Paramus location a few months ago, and I was impressed, but, I decided to give it another shot, and I'm glad I did. I decided to get the shroom burger this time, can we say awesome! If you are a vegetarian or simply looking for an alternative to a burger, the shroom burger is for you!! The shakes aren't really my thing, but I'm not sure anyone could really complain about that as an option. And they have treats to take home to your dogs!! The restaurant is clean and well-maintained. I've been eating at Shake Shake since it was a hot-dog cart in Madison Sq Park in NYC and have always loved it. The burgers have been juicy and very flavorful. Nothing has ever compared to it. But in the last few months, the burgers have been dry and no longer have that great taste. I have returned several times in the hope that it was just an off day but unfortunately it appears to be a permanent situation. I'm not sure they are using Pat LaFrieda meat in their burgers any longer. I have also noticed this at the 479 Rte 17 S location in Paramus, NJ as well. WORST FRIES EVER!! I always heard how good Shake Shack was. I just wanted to try the french fries and noticed that they only had one size. So, I placed the order and when they came it was a fairly small portion which seemed even smaller than an order of MacDonald's medium fries and overpriced for $3.29. I even said something to the person behind the counter who seemed to be a manager. He quickly snapped back with an attitude that this was a 6 ounce size but I seriously doubt that they weigh every single portion. I even noticed someone else's order close by and they had a slightly larger portion. In any case, they didn't even look that good, like cheap frozen crinkle fries. At that point I probably should have just asked for a refund and in hindsight, I'm sorry that I didn't. Ok, whatever but when I finally tried one, it was a little crispy on the outside with basically no potato on the inside. Just a crispy french fry with a hollow inside!! Loved it! First time at this SS location. The place was packed, as to be expected. There was a greeter who let us know what the "special shake" of the week was and offered us menus. The line to order went pretty quickly, and we found a small table shortly after placing our food orders. I got the basic shack cheeseburger and I thought it was great! Juicy and flavorful, Just as I remembered. The red velvet shake the greeter had recommended was good but I guess I expected it to be more of a chocolate shake, but it turned out to be a vanilla shake with bits of red velvet cake mixed in. Once again, I just don't understand the hype for this particular burger chain. I've been to the different Shake Shack locations in NYC and this was my first time at the one in Paramus. The burger tastes ok, a little on the greasy side, but really nothing special. I went to Steak and Shake, 5 minutes down the road, last week, and thought their burgers were juicier. Steak & Shake is even less expensive than a meal at Shake Shack since the fries are included with the burger. As for the shakes here: you would expect a place that has "Shake" as the first half of its name to have better tasting partially gelatinated, non-dairy, gum-based beverages (a little nod to my fellow Simpsons fans). I had a very underwhelming strawberry shake. It would have been better to just buy a carton of Breyer's ice cream, let it melt, and drink it up. My two cents: go ahead and try shake shack if you've never had it before, especially since it's probably the best fast food available at the mall. However, if you're truly craving a nice, flavorful burger, there's tons of better places within a few mile radius; including Smashburger, Steak & Shake, or Bobby's Burger Palace. read more

I just visited this location for dinner a few weeks ago after watching a movie over at the AMC theater. I'm so used to the long lines in the New York city locations but it was surprisingly not too busy at all. I tried their bacon ranch burger. The burger patty was as always had a nice char on the outside but still quite juicy. One thing I noticed though was that the burger patty was a tad salty for my liking this time. There's something special about the shack! The prices are on the higher end for burgers and fries but it is definitely worth it. Their burgers are juicy and the right size. Once you are done eating, you don't feel overly satisfied because it is the right portion. I tend to go for cheese fries (only $1 extra) and a lemonade. Not a bad place, but definitely not my favorite burgers. I find them way too greasy and don't like the overall flavor but others (like my sister) absolutely love it. So I guess it depends on personal preference.
