    Chicken sandwich and cheese fries
    Rob M.

Airport restaurants have to be graded on a healthy curve. The customer base assuredly ranks among the most miserable in the world. We are stressed, bored, overtired or a combination of all of the above. Add to that, as of this writing, Shake Shack is Terminal 8's only option for hot food after 9 pm. So in the evenings, the line to order looks like the line to vote in a southern state. Nonetheless, the Terminal 8 Shake Shack delivers. It's kind of the only option but the lack of competition has not hurt the quality. Despite intense demand, it cranks out meals at very respectable pace. The service maintains cheerfulness and the food is consistently delicious on the level of the non-airport locations. Still, I have to account for the pricing. A chicken sandwich with cheese fries, a large soda and a bottle of water costs $34 bucks. I know airport food implies hyperinflation like a dictatorship announcing a new currency named after the autocrat's mother. But still. In any event, if you can stomach the price, you can certainly stomach the food.

This Shake Shack location is on Terminal 8 at JFK. Bonus points for convenience as you can order via kiosk, app, or on person. However, the staff are not super friendly and sometimes seem a little inconvenienced if you ask for something like a cup of water. The burgers are very flavorful. My friend ordered a bacon avocado burger and the avocado was VERY fresh and plentiful. The bacon was a little soft, but on the whole the burger was very tasty. I ordered the Chicken Shack crispy chicken sandwich. It was very crispy, but somewhat bland. Both sandwiches were a little dry but there are packets of mayo, mustard, and Tabasco as well as a ketchup dispenser in the order pickup area, so we used those. We shared an order of fries. They are crinkle cut fries and I didn't have the option to ask for extra crispy via the kiosk, so ordered as is. They were not very crispy and needed salt, which is also available in packets. All in all, it was fine for airport food.

Was extremely excited that Shake Shake has a location in Terminal 8 of JFK Airport. I've been to another location many times at T4, but now that my work trips departure and arrivals are in T8 instead, I can still have a nice meal on my flight heading back home. The queue to get in is short and fast. The restaurant is more welcoming for dine in with many tables available. When entering customers can grab their drinks from the refrigerator first, then order your food from the self service kiosks. As an airport employee, I followed all the TSA Agents as they waited for a live person to take your order instead of using a kiosk. The self service kiosk doesn't have an option to enter your employee number for airport discount. What l ordered was a double shack cheeseburger and french fries. It only took about 5 minutes for my order to come out. Breakfast is also available for here and to go. You can also get your alcohol fix first thing in the morning! My food was delicious and I was able to eat in peace and quiet! Don't forget to take ketchup to go right at the counter.

Crispy, hot fries and juicy, flavorful burgers. Love that you can add pickles and onions onto the ShackBurger. Lots of seating right next to the establishment. An excellent lunch before a departing flight at JFK.

This might honestly be the only highlight in Terminal 8. Shake Shack is definitely overpriced at the airport and they tack on extra charges. The food was just okay and it took way too long to come out. :/

DO NOT COME HERE IF YOU HAVE FOOD ALLERGIES AND NEED EVEN MINOR ADJUSTMENTS. Partner is allergic to eggs and dairy so we opted to remove crispy onions from burger at the kiosk and mentioned it to the cashier for good measure. Then they kept calling my order by the wrong name so it took a while for me to realize it was ready. Burger still came with with the allergens - which sure, I've worked in food before and things fall through sometimes. When we asked to remove them the staff got upset. Boarding time came due to the waiting, so I followed up which made them upset again . Burger came without ANY of the vegetables this time, so when I pointed it out guess what they did - they grabbed tomatoes and onions, put it in a pouch, and threw it in our bag for us to assemble. All without saying a word. 0/5. Don't waste your time and go somewhere else instead. TLDR: Partner allergic to eggs and dairy, asked to remove allergens, staff got upset, made the food wrong twice which made us late to our boarding time, gave us the ingredients separately for us to assemble food ourselves.

By the time I remembered to take a picture, the damage had already been done. I've been to Golden K Burgers a few times now, and it has quietly become one of my favorite burger spots. It's a Korean-American burger joint with a cozy diner feel inside. Nothing overly flashy, just great vibes, a comfortable atmosphere, and a staff that always greets you with a warm smile that makes you feel welcome. Over the times I've been here, I've tried the Farmhouse Burger, Big Kahuna Burger, BBQ Chip Burger, and the A1 Burger. Honestly, they've all been excellent. But somehow... I keep coming back to the A1 Burger. Now I know what some of you are thinking. "A1 sauce? Really? There are so many better burger sauces than A1!" I actually agree! A1 has never been my first choice for burgers. But my goodness... whatever magic they're working here just works! The two juicy beef patties, perfectly marinated mushrooms and onions, melted Swiss cheese, tangy A1 sauce, and soft buttery brioche bun come together like a perfectly conducted symphony. Every ingredient has its role, and none of them overpower the others. The mushrooms bring an earthy richness, the onions add sweetness, the Swiss cheese gives it that creamy nuttiness, and then the A1 sauce swoops in with just enough boldness to wake up your palate without stealing the show. Funny enough, every topping on this burger (except the A1 sauce) is exactly what I'd normally choose for any burgers anyway, yet the A1 somehow becomes the finishing touch that ties everything together! Another thing I really appreciated was how well the burger was constructed. It held together beautifully from the first bite to the last without collapsing into a soggy mess. That's an underrated quality that deserves recognition. The fries were also fantastic because they weren't buried under a mountain of salt like so many places do. I actually found myself wondering if they'd fry them a second time upon request because I love my fries extra crispy. I guess I'll have to ask next time! I've also had their 12-piece Buffalo Wings before. I wouldn't say they're the best wings I've ever had, but they're definitely very good. They came out crispy on the outside, juicy on the inside, marinated evenly with buffalo sauce (dry) that had just the right balance of buttery richness, tanginess, and heat. They were satisfying without being overly greasy. From the outside, Golden K Burgers probably doesn't scream, "This is one of NYC's best burger joints!" But trust me when I say this: you'll find yourself craving it again very soon. And to me, that's the highest compliment I can give any restaurant. There are plenty of places that impress you once. The truly great ones are the ones that make you want to come back! Give Golden K Burgers a try! Highly recommended!

Since we were dining in, they gave us a table number and we placed it in the holder so staff know where to bring the food. Our order didn't take very long to arrive to our table, just about 10 minutes. After finishing your meal, you bus your own table. The menu has options for burgers, hot dogs, fries, salads, shakes, floats, and desserts. I ordered a Yellow Label Burger ($13.45) and a Strawberry shake ($6.75). My husband and I shared a Farm Salad ($9.75). The Yellow Label Burger comprises of USDA Prime Beef, homemade fried mac n cheese patty, lettuce, tomato on a potato bun. This was delicious! I liked how after biting into the crispy, breaded exterior it gives way to a hot, molten cheese center that oozes perfectly over beef. The Farm Salad which consisted of spring mix, tomato, blue cheese crumbles, sliced almonds, dried cranberries, and raspberry vinaigrette on the side was also very very very tasty, fresh, and a good portion. The strawberry shake was also very good and had pieces of strawberries. Black Label Burgers pride on only using USDA Prime Angus beef that comes from a single source, Double R Ranch, located in Washington State, a family-owned farm known for its responsible practices and superior beef. You can definitely taste the richness and juiciness of the beef. My husband had the Red Label Burger ($13.25) and the PB&J shake ($7.75). He really enjoyed his meal as well. I really liked the inside decor and the laid back vibes. Black Label Burgers is great for a quick lunch, a night out with friends, or a family dinner. I am looking forward to my next visit.

I stopped by on a Sunday afternoon and the place was busy, always a good sign. I liked the local (Long Island) themed decor, friendly service, spacious parking lot, wide variety of self-serve beverages (tangy lemonade - yay!) and nicely padded booths. Definitely a cut above competitors like Shake Shack in that regard. I chose the signature black label burger made with dry aged beef and regular fries. While the hand cut fries were wonderfully crispy and flavorful, the burger was kind of disappointing - not terrible, but the bun tasted stale and the meat was very bland. Also I ordered the burger cooked medium but it came out pink in the center, not my preference for chopped meat. Maybe I ordered the wrong item? I plan to try other menu items in the future to see if they hit my taste buds differently.

I already knew I wanted the double cheeseburger with bacon and egg, so it didn't take me long to place my order. I definitely enjoyed sitting at the bar because the restaurant has an open-kitchen concept. You can watch the chefs prepare the food, which is always enjoyable for me. The burger itself was definitely an experience! It was beautifully presented, and everything was cooked to perfection. Honorable mention goes to the pepper on the thick-cut bacon- it added a nice savory kick to the burger. I had really been looking forward to trying it because I recently passed by Au Cheval in Chicago, but the wait was extremely long, so I didn't get the chance to go. This burger was definitely good. It's not at the top of my list, but it was worth the experience. I must say, it's also extremely high-end price-wise. For just the burger with bacon and egg, plus tax and tip, I paid about $47. Again, it was a treat, but not necessarily one I'd order again. I'd love to try some of the city's other standout burgers before returning for this one. Would I recommend it? Absolutely! Would I return? Sure, but I would probably try something other than the burger next time.
