It's a fine little place. It's very busy, but service is quick. The food was beautiful and everything seemed fresh. Nice decor and clean. Chief complaints: the chicken bites are oily. Doesn't cater to kids very much. And some of the people in the kitchen ignored the food handler training when it talks about hair nets. Many had hair nets or hats, but some didn't. Great service and follow all Covid rules. We were pleasantly surprised. You still get your free refill but they will do it for you and give you a new cup every time. This meant waiting for your drink when you get your food. Burgers were great but fries were nothing special. Wanted something more signature and not frozen fries. I've been to this location two times and I'm just not impressed. I know Shake Shack is popular and I'll admit the burgers are great, but both times I've come, I've had frustrating things happen that I feel the Shake Shack could fix. The first time I came, the place had recently opened up, so it was crowded. To be expected. But after ordering, I had to wait 30-40 minutes for my food. Well you might say, they're busy, so be patient. Nope, it actually sat on the counter for 15 minutes while the employee was talking/distracted. I even came up and asked about my order and I was told that it would be out soon. And there it sat, getting cold. The second time, we came it was much less busy. We actually ordered online because we were worried about a long line. Our food was ready when we got there. Awesome! But then we looked around the restaurant, there was nowhere to sit. We had to shark the restaurant for at least 10 minutes. I was holding my 8 month old while my 5 year old was trying to be patient. I guess when I look over at the space that the game table takes up in this restaurant and seeing that the seating area is already super small and limited, it makes me think they should toss it and add some more seating. That would be nice. But instead I'll eat my cold burger, for the second time, and probably never come back again. read more

We live in a state where people are CHEAP. The burgers were fantastic, I had a shack burger with mushrooms and a patty, the $10 one and it was fantastic! One of the best burgers I've had; also, ordered fries, a vanilla shake, an amber ale (beer) and a Shack-ago hotdog. ALL IMPRESSIVE! You go there to enjoy something different, great food but also the fact that you can bring your kids, or date or just friends and have a traditional meal with different games like ping pong and such instead of being glued to our phones. I enjoy a good burger. When I saw numerous locals get excited that SS had finally opened a store in Utah, I knew I had to come check it out. How does it compare to other burger chains that are already here? Short answer: this place is *insanely* overpriced. Seriously. Eight bucks for a 'standard' double cheeseburger (and their 'specialty' burgers cost even more than that)? What do they think this place is--Ruth's Chris steakhouse??? Maybe it is worth it, I told myself, so I persevered and stepped up to the counter. I decided I also needed to sample the fries, so I ordered a regular serving of them. Visiting any place that puts 'shake' in their name means you *have* to try one of those, too, so I added a regular milkshake to my order... despite its $5.19 price. Dinner for one person in a self-serve restaurant, and you'll barely get any change back from a $20 bill. That is obscene, and it's enough to keep me from coming back unless this is the best food I've ever eaten. Surprise--it was not. The burger itself was fine. If you can ignore the cost, it was actually a decent burger; too bad it is such a poor value. The fries are a crinkle-cut style and were just as you'd expect--typical fried potato, nothing standout. The shake was about 14oz in size and tastes as good as a milkshake will, but I saw no reason why it needed to have such a high pricetag. In summary, I'd say the food here compares overall to The Habit... but at nearly twice the price. If I can get the same quality food and service there, why would I bother returning here? When expectations are high, but the reality of the situation is low- a two star review is in order. Let me give you a rundown on our Shake Shack experience on a Tuesday evening-four days after the grand opening. 6:39 pm: we arrive at The Shake Shack. The line is long, and extends outside the building about 60 ft. At this point I'm happy and excited to try it. 7:00 pm: Still waiting in line and feeling pretty hungry and overheated. I ask Siri how hot it is and she responses with a whopping 98 degrees. 7:15 pm: Finally order our food and sit at a table that my spouse reserved long before because he had to come inside to get our 3 month old baby out of the heat. 7:35 pm: Our food is STILL not ready. At this point we are all super hangry and I legit believe they forgot about our order. I ask my husband to go up to the counter and ask about our food. The guy bagging to-go orders looks at our number and just says it's not ready. Seriously dude? He obviously isn't paying attention because our order is just sitting there on the counter! Who knows how long it was sitting there. My guess was he was super distracted but still.. it was ridiculous. Finally, he realizes that the order matches up and he gives my husband the food. 7:45 pm: We finally eat our food. The food is good, and the concrete is still 'semi-concreted' (just made that word up) considering how long it sat on the counter. There's our play-by-play. Took just over an hour to order and get our food. I feel like when you leave a food establishment you should feel happy and full, not frustrated and semi-full like we felt here. We've been to this location many times and had good experiences. But if our last visit was any indication, things have gone downhill. First off, we placed our order through the app and used a promo code that covered our entire order. It showed up in the app that my credit card wouldn't be charged because of the promo code, but after clicking submit, my card still got charged the full amount. Super frustrating. Our order included a burger with a gluten-free bun. When we got our food, none of the burgers were marked as gluten-free. I asked an employee how we could identify which burger was gluten-free. She poked and prodded our various burgers before saying, "This one might have a gluten-free bun." Not only was it gross to have our burgers dissected by an employee, but there was no way my family member could enjoy the food when we didn't know if eating it would make her sick. Really excited that Shake Shack finally opened in Utah! I am really happy to say that I had a great time on my first visit. As expected, there was a huge line that went out the door all the way to the street, but it was worth the wait. So cool because not only can get you the standard Burgers, Shakes, & Fries, you can also order wine which is awesome. I ordered the smoke shack and it was delicious, but I am really impressed with their entire setup as you can sit inside or outside, but what really impressed me was the small plaza that they had outside which had ping pong and cornhole, and inside they shuffle board and board games. Let's start with the wait. It was not too bad for a new place. They had a lot of staff working that day and a knowledgeable staff to keep it moving fast and efficient. The food was very good and had lots of taste. Made fresh. My only problem here was after a burger(Small Burger), fries and a shake I was like $20.00. I mean really it was not that good for $20.00 Burger was small and adding the extra paddy didn't make it any bigger. I would have rather gone to In And Out for 8.00 for the same thing. I've been to shake shacks in other parts of the country and the food here is on par with what you would expect from the other locations. However, the thing that makes this location stand out is the venue. The building is so cool! It's got an old repurposed building that has great character and very appealing. I'm reading all these reviews in which most are negative yet I haven't ran into one with the same issues as mine. That tells me all around they can't get it right. Fist time Shake Shacker. So I was pretty excited. Got a hamburger, which was too pink for me to eat the center of. The others with me were cooked through. The bun was soggy so I really just ate bits and pieces of the meat. But the real disappointment was the vanilla shake I ordered. It's like it was previously made and then stuck in the freezer till someone ordered one. I am a shake shack evangelist. Whenever i eat out of state for lunch it's my go to! But this shake shack is horribly run. I have had problems almost every time i came in. I chalked it up to it being newer. But it's been open for a while now and what i experienced was awful. I placed an online order. Had it pulled up. Showed it to the manager. He accidentally deleted it somehow. I went to the register and he had me place the order again and re pay for it. We then waited for over 30 minutes, went up to the counter, he didn't know where our food was. He quickly made our order but it was completely wrong. Finally ate at the much spoke of and mythical Shake Shack. It was delicious. In fact, I'd say it's much better than In-n-Out. However, I judge burger joints a lot on their fries. More on that later. Both my wife and I had the standard single Shack Burger. Whatever that sauce is they put on it is delicious. The veggies were fresh and the bun was definitely bakery fresh. We also had the chicken bites. Definitely better than chicken nuggets, and probably on par with the chic fil a bites. The fries were excellent! The crinkle cut fries are choice. Crispy on the outside, almost mashed potato texture on the inside. I like a French fry with some girth...hence why they are better than In-Outs. We also shared a strawberry shake and that was excellent. Definitely worth the hype and the premium cost for fast food. Will return for sure! read more

I'm only giving this place 3 stars because it was pricey and quite frankly, I think it's a little over rated. This is the perfect place to go on a date if you're in the mood for burgers! They have tons of games(board games, ping pong tables and so forth) that your kids can play and keep entertained while you munched down on your burger. I originally ordered the shroom burger but was told it didn't come with a meat patty so I ended up getting a stack burger which was $10 for just the burger. As much as I wish I could do a better review, I just can't. Some things are out of the control of Shake Shack (at least partly), which included crazy long line and wait. The place is new, it's popular, that's just part of the deal. When we got our food (the regular cheeseburger and fries) I was excited to dig in to the popular and well-reviewed burger. I was so disappointed. It was WAY overcooked (nearly burned), and the flavor was cooked right out of it and the texture was that crunchy texture that comes with overcooked beef. We toyed with the idea of returning them and requesting better cooked burgers, but the length of the lines was imposing, and we didn't have all day. I was also a little disappointed with the fries-also overcooked and not very fresh (and WAY too expensive for what we received). I will say, though, that the strawberry shake that I got was really, really good. I will probably try it again someday when the crowds die down (IF they die down) and see if I can be impressed. But as for right now, I'm not happy or impressed. The food there is pretty expensive for burgers and fries and I really expected something that was pretty amazing for that money. Burgers seemed a little small. Definitely a premium burger - tastes great - but shroom burger and cheeseburger both a little bland.
