Nostalgia is a funny thing. It can take you back to relieve cherished memories or drop you off the side of a cliff like a rock. Shakey's was my cliff. I was the rock. I'd been craving those Mojo potatoes of my youth after being bombarded by recent Shakey's commercials on TV. Yes, TV is EVIL . You forget that what you see is illusion. Bunch o Lunch was an opium haze dream. Was it ever as good as I remembered it or is it a trick played by my age ravaged brain? Whatever the case, MAJOR disappointment. Parking in this plaza is a nightmare. People here don't know how to drive or park. Throughout my lunch, I imagined my car being dented by some jalopy with plates registered years ago or missing entirely. Upon ordering, my wife and I didn't get our entire discount we were entitled to but they made sure they charged my donation to Toys for Tots. Pizza consisted of 3 choices. Pepperoni, pepperoni & mushrooms, & pepperoni w veggies. Pasta consisted of shells & starchy, ghastly spaghetti. They did have a strange marshmallow pizza that was stiff as a board. The corn was canned corn in water. The Mojos were acceptable but a bit bland. The chicken was pretty good to their credit. Nice crispy skin on the thighs that I know I shouldn't eat. They do have roast chicken as well but I didn't try it. It is a cheap lunch which will fill you up if that's enough to make you happy. I unfortunately was chasing a childhood dream that ended like a WWF match where the guy gets tossed out of the ring or smacked in the head by a folding chair. Sometimes nostalgia hurts. read more

The main reason I don't like this place is that they can't get the order right. Either they can't read or just don't want to get it right. I was told that because I paid cash, I had to come back the same day for a refund. I had my receipt, but why should I be inconvenienced? I have been to this Sharkey's location a couple of times for their lunch buffet. Food is good and I like the variety. But the star of the restaurant is a server by the name of Matilde Robel. She makes the dining experience that much nicer. She's constantly watching the floor picking up dirty plates and handing out clean one. I have never once had ask for a clean plate as Matilde is always making sure the guest have what they need. I would recommend dining at this location. read more

Stepped in on a Thursday afternoon with my nephews to check out their bunch of lunch offerings. All in all, the service was friendly and attentive. The mojos, pizza, and chicken were awesome. The salad bar left a little to be desired but for the price it is to be expected. Kinda sucks that drinks are a separate charge as this location charges $14-$16 for the buffet per person without a drink. But I still think we got our moneys worth. Tonight I have NEVER in my life experienced a worker STEALING!!!! My son left his hat on the farthest corner table near the arcade tonight because that is where we ate. He went to get prizes and forgot to grab his hat. We left a couple of minutes before closing. We noticed that he didnt have it when we got on the freeway and when i called to ask for it, the girl said she asked all the workers and they said they didnt find it. I told her that was impossible because we literally just left from there and she kept on with her story of not finding the hat. I told her i would go back and she said "well i guess we will see you here then" like she was trying to call my bluff. I got there and the guy at the register was smirking and asked how he can help me. I am sure he knew the situation already since he looked like a manager. I asked the only worker that had been super nice to us about the hat and let her know the hat was given to him by someone who had passed and only until i told her that, she went to retrieve the hat!!!!! She apologized and said the girl that answered the phone WANTED TO KEEP THE HAT!!!! But she convinced her to give it back to me because it wasnt just any hat!!!! I will NEVER recommend anyone to eat here!!!! If I had not shown up, she wouldve taken my son's hat and never own up to it!!! She never came out to show her face! Bunch of lunch 11-2 I would honestly say come after 12:30 pm on a Saturday or a Sunday because that's the lunch rush and they are constantly making fresh pizza. Matilde Rigel D have excellent service and was frequently coming to our table to clean, and give us new plates so we can continue to get more pizza and salad. (I shouldve asked how long my order was gonna be) sat there for about 10 minutes while the girl took 2 phone orders and 2 walk in orders. My food had been sitting there since before i walked in and all she or ANYONE had to do was make a fu*king salad.
