Overall I thought it was very good! I got the Crab & Shrimp with mild blended season...yum. It was flavorful without being salty which is hard for some restaurants. I've had Chasin Tails and Hot & Juicy and I didn't like either too much so this is definitely better. The only reason I give 4/5 is because my waitress didn't check on me once after I got my food and it wasn't extremely crowded so I didn't understand why. Fortunately I didn't actually need anything but I still think that's great service. My food did come out really quick and nice & hot though so I'll be back for sure! read more

August 25 was our second year for using Shakin Crab to provide a bushel of crabs for our extended families August birthdays/end of summer get together. 30-40 of us gather to eat crabs and catch up. We have been eating crabs together for over 60 years and we all agree Shakin Crab provides the best crabs we have gotten in several years! The crabs are FAT and heavy, and perfectly spiced! Shakin Crab I will have to say is better than Chasing tail on the bag department. They don't over cook their shrimp and has the right amount of seasoning. In the fried food department Chasing tails beats them hand down. The fried food had to much batter and the batter they used for shrimp had a taste like funnel cake. I would definitely go back for seafood in a bag. read more

Great place to get dirty eating crabs!! Put on your bib and enjoy! The crab legs, medium spice and the shakin sauce is awesome! This place reminds me of the boiling seafood in Savannah, GA. A little pricier I think. The bag comes with a corn OR potato which I didn't like since most places give you one of each so I paid extra for both. Hence 4 stars instead of 5. Stopped in on a whim, and was pleasantly surprised. The home-made onion rings were excellent, with a light yet crisp batter. We had the shrimp, with each order presented in its own bag. They were consistent in size - large - and extremely flavorful. The garlic spice was strong but good; the Cajun was excellent, with just the right amount of burn. Today was my 2nd time eating there & it was amazing all over again!!! I ordered a pound of crab legs, corn & hush puppies which came pit hot & flavorful. It was AMAZING!! My server, Deanna was nothing short of perfect! She was very nice, attentive, courteous & helpful. She definitely made my dining experience even more AWESOME!! The only "complaints" I have is that I wish they had a remoulade dipping sauce for the seafood & I wish they offered bread or crackers like Chasin' Tails in Centreville does. My wife and I went to the restaurant last night and it was our first visit and certainly won't be our last. I had the king crab legs which were steamed to perfection, and also the calamari which was delicious, my wife she had the baby clams and alaskan crab legs as a combo and they turned out really well. Ordered crawfish with cajun seasoning and spicy for takeout. It was completely bland and mild. My mom and I have enjoyed the crawfish here many times, so the chef must have forgotten to put seasoning on it because there was absolutely no flavors at all this time. Probably a better alternative then Chasin Tails . Servers were very attentive always asking " if we needed anything "and we're very friendly . The portions were plentiful and we had hard time finishing only one star off for the bag not having enough sauce, other then that sauce tasted great . Great place . Not impressed, not Cajun, not good at all. Growing up eating Cajun and have seafood boil with friends and family almost every other weekend. This is not seafood boil. This is just straight up boiling with water and tossing it in some oily sauce which makes the meat flavorless. For the price, i could do this 10xs better at home. No thanks! read more

Decently priced seafood, everything was great. Got head on shrimp, oysters, mussels and clams. All Shakin special sauce. Taking away a star because I was APPALLED at the amount of plastic waste. the only things that were not plastic/single use was the fork and the bucket. Beverages came in to go cups with lids, all sauces came in plastic ramekins with lids, and even the rice came in singe use containers with plastic lids. I had a pretty good experience here, but can't return because of the waste. If you don't have an issue with any of the things I listed above go for it! Had a good time with good food and service. The food was decent, we were warmly greeted at the host stand. The atmosphere leaves something to be desired. The cutlery is very cheap, like dollar store, paper napkins and plastic plates. I think they should have gloves more readily available as eating steamed items out of a bag is messy and our waiter wasn't very attentive. One of the staff was wearing beats headphones and did not respond to us because he was listening to music. We ordered the combo steam bag with potatoes and corn, it came out with one tiny small round potato and no corn! I would say chasin tales has a better experience and atmosphere. We visited Shakin Crab on a recommendation. I had seen the restaurant a few times before, but didn't pay too much attention. I'm sad I didn't find out about this place sooner! We ordered steamed crab legs, shrimp, clams and mussels, as well as a few fried items. My son really loved the crab legs, he said they were probably the best he's ever had! The flavorful, seasoned broth, which included garlic, that the steamed seafood came in, was the star! I thought the fried items were tasteless, thus the reason for 4 stars. Had a coupon so tried this place out. I live in Chantilly so hate driving to Manassas. Let me tell you, we went back for a second time in a week!! Kids & I love this place! Funny thing is I went to Chashin' Tails in between & this place is definitely better than Chasin' Tails. You get more for your money & the sauce is better. They give you popcorn as a free appetizer which is something new & fun. Downsides, they don't put a lot of sauce in the bag & they only have beer & wine.
