However, I was charged $16.49 before tax, bringing my total to $18.14. When the price on the screen doesn't match the price on the sign, it is a rip-off to the consumer. Firstly the drive-thru intercom required me to yell when placing my order, either that or the cashier was not listening. A simple request for more gravy than mash potatoes was not fulfilled... I ordered a 5 whole wings meal, 3 pc spicy tenders meal, and two apple pies totaling $34 WTF, but anywho's -- when I got home I was pleasantly surprised to see I received 6-7 tender (mixed) and the other order received 6 wings!! This Popeyes chicken here in Manassas off suddenly just up from the hospital has to be the nastiest tasting chicken I've ever had. It's not true Popeyes chicken it has no seasoning they were out of coleslaw when I was there hide in the hell do you run out of coleslaw? Absolutely awful customer service. We ordered a meal online for pick up. The confirmation page said to go to the store and give my name. When I arrived I waited several minutes for a young lady with an apparent chip on her shoulder to acknowledge me. I said I was picking up my order and gave my name. She insisted that I "show her the name". I said I ordered from home and I didn't have something showing my name. I'm guessing she thought I was a delivery driver or something because she insisted that I "show her the name". I said I didn't know what she wanted me to show. The confirmation page just said tell them my name. I didnt have anything to show. She got super frustrated and walked off. Totally abandoned the counter. I waited several more minutes until the manager came around. I asked the manager if my order was ready. She then goes to ask the original lady if there was an order with my name and she tells her boss, in a short very rude tone, "no", as if there was no order for me. I had paid over $50 for a family meal and I could very clearly see a large bag just sitting on a cart off to the side. It was literally the only bag waiting for pick up. I asked the manager to look at that bag and sure enough it had my name on it. That was total BS just to pick up my order. That young lady should not be working a customer service job. She got pissed off because she didn't understand that I was getting an order for myself (not a delivery driver) and she decided to abandon the counter and ignore me and other customers that came in. Let me start off by saying this... I visited mid-day, around 2pm, on a Monday. The wait was the worst I have ever seen, without there being a medical emergency physically inside of the establishment... This was my first re-visit to ANY Popeyes establishment for quite a few years, so needless to say, for them to retain my business it had to be a good one and impress me (it wasn't.) I waited in the drive-thru with 10+ other cars for almost THIRTY minutes (video available on YouTube). This place is ridiculously slow. The outside of the restaurant was in poor condition, with oil containers sitting out, a loose wire hanging from the roof, and obvious roof damage to the metal overhead tiles. On to the main event -- the food.. The food was sub-par to my expectations. The main choice of seasoning for the gravy and chicken breading, seemed to be large amounts of black pepper. The chicken was bland and had a lot more of a greasy taste than KFC. The lack of gravy in the order of "mashed potatoes and gravy" is disappointing. Thankful I had ordered extra, or I'd have been be PISSED!! The only praise I can give them is that they actually got the order correct! After reading some of the other reviews on here I can say that I am very happy I chose to opt out of getting a drink from this place... I really want to like Popeyes - I mean I want the food to be better than it is. It always sounds so interesting and enticing. Every so often I am lured in thinking I am going to have a really tasty Southern Cajun style meal. And I am almost always disappointed. Today was such a day. I was thinking Cajun thoughts and decided to pop in to Popeyes for some vittles at dinner time. I've been to this Popeyes a couple of times previously - but not since I started Yelping. I ordered the #5 Combo - fried catfish with a side of your choice, a biscuit, and a beverage. I chose the mashed potatoes and gravy as my side - and ordered a second side - Red Beans and Rice. Beverage was a Diet Coke. Food came up quickly. I received two sides of tartar sauce with the fish, grabbed some napkins, a spork, and a straw and selected a place to sit. The dining area really needed a good scouring/scrubbing down. Everything was just average. The tartar sauce was too thick IMHO - it needed to be creamier. The Red Beans and Rice were kind of blah, The fried catfish was decent, as were the mashed potatoes (for a fast food joint). I was thinking I wanted some butter and blueberry jam on that biscuit. The biscuit had a nice flaky consistency. Next time I am thinking Cajun - I will run straight to Okra's in Old Town Manassas! read more

Poor customer service. I have visited this place many times and notice many staff having poor customer service. The last time I visit 4 days ago, do you believe that Popeyes run out hot sauce? I finally gave in and caved to my friend who swore that Popeye's chicken was the best. Wish I'd read the reviews of this place before I came. Anticipation builds. Finally I get up to the thing and order- chicken strips combo for me and the dog, chicken sandwich for my pal. Macaroni & cheese, fries, slaw for the sides. Cripes, over $10 for chicken strips, but I tell myself to remember the line- they must be amazing! Another five minute wait, but I justify it to myself saying at least if they're this backed up, they have to be cooking constantly and everything will be nice and hot. My first Popeye's experience will be great! Then I get my food. It is not great. It is not hot. It is not amazing. The sodas are flat. The chicken strips are crunchy, but cold. The fries are tasty, but also cold. I'm missing one side. The macaroni is warm, but it's been sitting a while, and the top is all crusted over with dried cheese. The biscuit is hot, but hard as a rock. The chicken sandwich is pretty tasty, and was actually fresh and hot too. If it wasn't for the breading I would have just had bones... Have not had Popeyes this year. This experience just reminds me of salty tears and sadness. Once I ordered, 3-Piece spicy white meat. Fries and mashed potatoes as the sides and sweet tea to drink. The person taking my order said there would be an up charge for white meat since I was getting a breast. That's fine. Well, once I finally got to the second in line, there was a timer showing how long I was waiting. It started off green, then went to red once it reached 2 minutes. I ended up sitting there for 5 minutes. Once I pulled up, the guy at the window verified what drink I had. He said Coke. I said no, it was sweet tea. After he gave me the sweet tea, he asked what my sides where, I told him fries and mashed potatoes. I also told him, I would like some honey. Well, no honey. They finally got the sides right. I get home, the chicken is one piece white, 2 dark as shown in the picture. Also, the chicken was incredibly old. The warmest part of my meal was the sweet tea. Horrible experience. It continued for several minutes. WATCH YOUR CHANGE HERE. Today I ordered a 3 piece combo for $7.99. Tax was $.40 cents and then they add something called ESF for $.57. I mentioned something when the $8.96 total came up on the screen. The cashier said that because I paid cash I would get a discount. The employees look you directly in your face and do not help you. Someone else has to come and help you. Management doesn't correct the employees. Disrespectful people working in this popeyes.
