We always like to find where the locals eat & so glad we found this place! Just had one of the best meatball subs I've ever had! Roll was soft on the inside & s little crunch on the outside! Meatball was perfect consistency & flavor and so was sauce! The size was just right too! My husband had the fried bologna sub and it was delicious too! We split an order of fries & gravy. Gravy was so good & piping hot! Very friendly staff, we were greeted with a hello from the cook as we walked in. Food came out fast and got us on our way to the beach! I arrived here at 10am on the dot just as they opened. I needed to kill some time so I ordered just so that I can use their wifi and plug in my computer. I asked for the motzorella sticks (which were pretty good) and a Starbucks ice coffee, as they did not have regular coffee and sat down here for about 2 hours. The staff was extremely friend and attentive as they checked on me regularly. I never felt rushed. I probably won't go out of my way to come back because I am vegetarian and they did not have many veggie options, but my cousin said that the food here is good. I am giving this place 5 stars for the service and great wifi. read more

After spending a nice weekend on Hutchison Island we stopped by Shakra's to grab a bite before heading south . What a nice find to grab some quick but tasty bites. Service was nice and prompt. The food was delish. It was 3 of us. Try the spuds and mud for an appetizer. Double cheeseburger was juicy . My wife had a hot tuna sub with all the toppings, and it was fresh and tasty. My daughter had a ham wrap which was tasty as well. Again if you are in the area and are looking for a great sandwich or sub, stop in and you wont regret it !! read more

What a deli and the family is fantastic. I have been going to Shakra's Deli since the first location in Rio. They then moved to downtown Jensen Beach. Now, they have the best location in town! They still have the best subs in town as well. I drive there for lunch and they also catered a small family function for my family. The subs were prepared the day of the function so everything was fresh, sub rolls crispy and veggies perfect! Wednesday is meatloaf sub day. If you have not tried it I recommend that you do. As a matter of fact try all the subs, they are made to order right then and there, delivered to you table with a smile. I have tried just about everything on the menu and have yet to be disappointed! The inside is of the deli has a beach mural on one wall, bathrooms decorate beautifully, and the deli itself is very clean! read more

Usually this is my favorite deli to eat at. I used to live in Martin county and now that I don't I try to go as often as I visit my family in the area. But Sunday we were doing a market at Maggie's across the parking lot. It was the WORST visit anywhere anytime. I will only be eating there if young Jeff and Bri are cooking!!!! Years ago they had a sign hung that read: Work free, drug place. I used to hit up Shakra's pretty much every weekend on the way to the beach. I miss it so much! Wish I lived down the street from there,I'd be there every day. I have been to thousand of restaurants all over and this place has been in my top ten since I first ate there in Rio many years ago. This is one of the places the locals eat because of the consistency of the food and value of the product. They have hot and cold subs, along with daily special subs( Tuesday is Turkey and Wednesday is meatloaf). The key to a good sub starts with the roll, and theirs are amazing! Fresh and soft, they're memorable. I usually do the hot subs (Turkey or meatloaf). The turkey sub has turkey, stuffing provolone cheese and an crazy good wine gravy. All that is heated in the oven into a handful of melted goodness. Only thing tgat would make it better is cranberry sauce. Then there's the hot meatloaf sub--you'll take a bite and go...D-A-M-B! Meatloaf, wine gravy and cheese heated and toasted in the pizza oven. I can lie on my back and eat that sub off my chest like an otter! I'll grab the cold subs every now and then, and they're outstanding, especially the Italian. Be sure to try their macaroni salad as well! Simple pasta goodness with low calories. I'm only rating this because I want them to be successful, so don't feel obligated to go on Tuesday or Wednesday and help sell out their hot sub specials so they're gone by the time I get there! read more

I've been going here since I was a kid! Except at that time it was in a little shack sized area in downtown and had such a charm to it. The newer place in the plaza is awesome too and the decor and wall plaster is fun to look at. The food is off the wall amazing! I don't eat meat anymore so when I go I get what I believe is called the cosmos? It's a veggie sub and is so freaking good but when I used to eat meat I'd get the chicken or the steak and cheese mmmmmm.... that gravy lol. My husband loves this place too and although we don't live in Jensen anymore and don't make it up there 2-3 times a week like we were for a while (lol) he gets his cravings and will drive the 30-40 mins just to get his fix. read more

Okay. Let me start this review with a fact. I have never reviewed a restaurant. I've never felt the need. Here is my experience. About 2 months ago I went there. I saw the girl in front touch money and then immediately touch lettuce. That's disgusting. I still didn't do a review. Fast forward to now. COVID-19 is ravaging this country. I went in and ordered food to go. They had placed a large piece of plexiglass between the person taking money and me. That's encouraging. I ordered. I waited and watched, hoping nothing bad happened. The guy making my sandwich was talking the whole time. If you're running a restaurant now, don't talk over the food. You spit when you talk. Everyone does. Next thing I know he has his phone out. Then he touches the food again. Disgusting. Why can I see this as improper but you can't? It's because you don't care. Needless to say, I threw my food away. You may have the most delicious food in the world. If you're not smart enough to prepare it safely, please close your doors. I paid for food I couldn't convince myself to eat.
