This is quite a gem close to sea breeze amusement park. We came for a 40 th anniversary party, we had a private room with Outstanding waitress service! The salmon melts in your mouth and the prime rib was done to perfection! We enjoyed after dinner drinks on the patio. And after dinner if you feel you need to ride on the jack rabbit well it's a short walk to entrance but don't get sick on it, it would be a waste of an Excellant meal lol read more

I want to like this place because I really like the owner, she is so nice and welcoming that I really thought about whether or not to leave this review. But in the end it better she know than otherwise so I figure I will leave it. I came here on Saturday the 15th. It was very busy. I was seated in an area I specifically asked not to be seated in as I was with a young child and I do not find a busy bar room appropriate for a child. Fine, we took the seats we were given. We ordered two sandwiches, an order of mozz sticks, and a kids order of Mac and Cheese. After an hour went by I asked the waitress what was taking so long. She explained our appetizer would be right out and not to worry. About 20 minutes later the appetizer did come out. It was not mozz sticks as was on the special but rather pizza logs. Was charged 9.99 for 4 pizza logs. Okay fine whatever, I can deal. So we are now waiting patiently for our food, but the problem is the food isn't coming. I call the waitress over and ask what the problem is and why it's been almost two hours at this point and yet we still do not have our food despite the fact that everyone coming in after us had been already served. The waitress explained to me that this is just the way they do it there. They don't put your ticket in for your entree until you are done eating your appetizer and that was the reason the food was taking so long. This just can't be right. By time we got the food the fries, which I feel were really once very good there, were nasty, burnt, cold, and very old. The sandwiches were pretty good but not nearly worth the 55 dollar price tag. Especially considering the service. I feel the waitress forgot our ticket - I hope that is the case because making a family wait nearly two hours from start to finish is not reasonable. But, like I said, very nice owner. Totally the best part of that place. read more

We live just down the road from Shamrock Jack's. We are there probably there once a week, when we're just too tired to cook. We love the Ruben, but my favorite is the Buffalo Chicken Salad. I could eat it every day! The staff is attentive, the manager or owner always stops by to check on our meal. The Shepard's Pie is delicious and perfect for a winter night. read more

Real genuine Irish bar! I went in for a last minute drink with a friend. Unfortunately the kitchen closed at 9pm, and I didn't get to sample the food. But the drinks were priced well, service was fast and friendly. I also really enjoyed the booths, were you can sit with a friend and have a conversation without yelling over the music. One of the nicest places to go for an absolutely FANTASTIC meal at reasonable prices and there so much food you will have a hard time finishing it and it is absolutely delicious and the owner Mark is courteous and Friendly and always has time to talk to you. Not anything whatsoever to write home about. Came here with a friend on a week night. I had the cheeseburger and fries, my friend got the Chicken Ceaser panini with some thing called baked patato salad.....we split both entrees. Have no idea what their perception of fries are, but what came with my burger was a pile of what only can be described as a cross between half burnt potato chips and overlooked wedge cut fries.....yuck. Burger wasn't half bad, thick patty and actually came medium well, so they can cook a burger...and they use DiPaolo twist rolls which is great. The chicken panini was Meh.....dry slices of chicken with no flavor or seasoning whatsoever served on flatbread. So not sure if they realize what a true "panini" is....but this is not it. And still haven't found the "Caeser" part.... The baked potato salad was....awful. But you can make it if you chop up a pile of dried out leftover baked potatoes and toss them with a gallon of mayo and don't bother with any seasoning whatsoever. We found this place quite by mistake and having an Irish wife, I thought it would be fun. It was a Sunday evening and the NFL playoffs were on. The bar was pretty subdued, but we ate in the dining room, my wife had the Fish Fry and the piece was HUGE! The Jack Fries were fresh and delicious and the fish was easily some of the best I have ever had or cooked myself and I am a highly experienced chef! I had the Shepard's Pie and it too was exceptionally good. We plan on making this a regular stop, as the service and food were top notch! read more

I have been here multiple times, every time I eat here I order something different and have never been disappointed by what I order. The consistency of food quality seems to be spot on which is hard to find. The atmosphere is really nice, the restaurant is separated from the loud bar which is very nice! They have a large menu with a wide variety of Irish and American foods. The only cons are that the prices are a bit higher than other restaurants in the surrounding area and the food is great but still lacks that "WOW, best food ever I must tell everyone about this" feeling. read more

We have been to Shamrock Jacks many times over the years and we always stop there at the end of our St. Patrick's day celebration before we go home for our dinner....This year we arrived as we always do and after we ordered our first drinks and went outside to enjoy the weather we were approached by a security person and told we had to leave....I asked what the problem was and all he would say is that we had to leave, for what reason I still don't know to this day....We didn't talk to anyone or have an issue with anyone but for some odd reason they felt the need to throw us out....We left without an incident as anyone would do when asked, but this has cost the bar/restaurant our business now and in the future....Thanks for the memories Shamrock Jacks.... read more

Made reservations for 7:30 but didn't even get seated until 8:15. Kept walking up to the hostess and asking her when the table would be ready and all she kept saying was "One minute, one minute". Everyone ordered fish fries and they were pretty over cooked, not to mention my one person at my table had HAIR in his fish! The waitress came by and grabbed his plate without even asking how it was when all the rest of us were still eating..wouldn't you think to ask why someone left a basically full fish on their plate? We waited about 20 minutes for the waitress to come back with the check and once we paid we had to wait about another 20 minutes for her to return the credit card. Bartenders ignored us at the bar, we could only order a drink once we sat down at our table. Wouldn't recommend coming here if you are hungry and wanting a drink. read more

Parking lot was full so I expected a wait but was greeted and seated immediately. A nice somewhat rustic setting with great service, excellent food and a family feel. I've been here twice now, once for drinks and once for dinner. Love the atmosphere in the bar - relaxed and full of colorful locals. Everyone was so friendly, including the bartender/owner, I didn't feel awkward or conspicuous waiting at the bar alone. Dinner was fantastic!! Hand cut potato wedges instead of the run of the mill french fries, great happy hour drink specials and sandwiches, and the best french onion soup I've ever had. Went to Shamrock Jacks a couple of weeks ago. Told the fish fry was really good. OMG....nasty. The cole slaw was very dry as was the fish. Never had to use a knife to cut a fish fry before. The fish was so rubbery I didn't finish. The "FF" were actualy a cross between a potato chip and a thin sliced potato wedge....very greasy. My Husband got the Shepard's Pie. Claimed his was way better...the left overs sat n the fridge til we threw the away.... Won't be back. read more

Good place to go for a quick lunch, I got the Cuban panini, was served to me within 10 minutes. Sandwich was a little salty, but putting on a sauce that's a little more tangy would fix that. Other than that, great service, good food, I would definitely come back to try something else on the menu. 5 of us went on a Friday night for fish fries. Got seated right away about 6:45pm. That was good, I figured there'd be a wait especially when I saw how full their parking area was. The decor, such as it is, is just your basic table & chairs. Of course there's a bar. All in all this is what you would expect from an unpretentious family place, so no problem there. 2 of us got the breaded fish fry while the 3 others had baked fish. There were plenty of other menu items, lots of appetizers, burgers, steaks, salads, Italian dishes etc, etc. all good. Reasonably priced too. I'm taking off 1/2 star because my fish was dry, over cooked. The breading was quite chewy. The fries (actually chips) were also dry. I usually don't complain and I've had far worse but I have to be truthful. I must add the others had no complaints, especially those who had the baked fish. They all said they were very good. Also I take off 1/2 star because it seemed unduly noisy! Service was excellent & swift. I will return. I like their menu & service & I'm not going to let 1 minimally bad meal completely sour me on this place. read more

Had an exceptionally good burger here last Friday night. Hand formed 1/2 pound of juicy medium rare goodness served on a fresh toasted bun with bacon and blue cheese, and LTO. I could have used a flip top head to get my teeth into this 4 inch high monster. Very fairly priced at $9. Fish fry is a huge portion of well seasoned haddock, breaded or broiled, and comes with cole slaw and choice of a side. Also delicious. The fries are hand sliced, unpeeled potato wedges, a nice change from the usual freezer fries We started with the fried cheese curds, which were somewhat bland, but crunchy batter, almost too crunchy, as they were hard to pierce with a fork. Spicy dipping sauce could have been spicier. Excellent well rounded selection of draft beers with several local mircrobrews, plus Guinness, and Magner's. I was hoping to enjoy the deep fried pickles, but alas, they are sliced into ruffled medallions, instead of lengthwise, which I think ruins the textural experience, and no spicy dipping sauce. So Sticky Lips is still champ in the fried pickle category. But Shamrock's is a cozy Irish pub, with a good atmosphere. Great place for happy hour and/or a casual dinner. Stopped by Friday night for the fish fry. We also ordered the New England clam chowder as a starter. The soup was not good at all. A starchy mess tasting of flour from the roux base. This was made all the worse when the check came and we discovered the $10 charge per bowl for this concoction. Then the fish fry came. While the fish itself was good, the potatoes were awful. They were way over cooked... Tasting more like burnt potato chips than fry's. Our waitress disappeared twice for long periods of time adding to the disappointment. This is one of my favorite steakhouses. The food is amazing. Its great for family's and also for kids. There is a bar and tables which is the more noisy part but they have 2 other rooms to eat that are more quiet. Service is great. When they mess up something you get a gift card and a free dinner. Had Broiled seafood platter fish was small and fishy clams casino were burnt & nasty even when they brought me back new clams and shrimp, the shrimp was dry & overcooked, scallops rubbery!
