    Corned beef & cabbage dinner
    Blair F.

A lovely venue with a patio just seconds away from Seabreeze Amusement Park. We stopped in for dinner after a day on the rides. Our server recommended the corned beef & cabbage, and I was not disappointed. My wife ordered the baked haddock and it was huge! Of course, we had to wash things down with a few Irish beers: Guinness and Smithwick's. A neighborhood gem that is a real bargain consiering the gigantic portions.

First off--our server was INCREDIBLE! She was so nice and accommodating with everything and really made the experience memorable. And the food was to DIE for! Not just the appetizers but our entrees too. I don't know if I'll ever be back near Rochester but I would 100% come back here time and again.

Holy cow. This little Irish Pub and eatery is SO GOOD. Started with Cheese Curds and French Onion Soup. Curds were fresh with a light crispy batter, homemade. Soup was rich and flavorful! Dinner entrees were the Reuben with homemade corned beef, pot roast grilled cheese, kids cheeseburger, and the Cottage Pie. Zero complaints from anyone in our party. Service was great, Guinness was cold. All around great experience

I love a good Irish pub experience and Shamrock Jack's delivers! I had only been once before in 2018, and had a lovely time then. My partner and I were hoping to mini golf (FYI - Pinewood not yet open for the season, womp womp), then grab a drink. We skipped straight to drinking and had a lovely time sitting out on the Culver rd patio. The inside looked quite busy for a Thursday, so we were content to sit out on the patio alone. I went with a moscow mule, which was delicious and served in an absolut mug. Colin went with an "old fashioned" (who orders an old fashioned at a pub? LOL), and it came out looking almost like a tropical drink! We both enjoyed either way and our server was super attentive and sweet. You have to order food still currently, so we went with the pub pretzels, which were totally sweet and had an almost churro-y texture? IDK but we were into it. I want to go back and try some more menu items. The prices are super reasonable (my mule was $7), and when I went for lunch in the past everyone thoroughly enjoyed everything they had. I am looking forward to more summer time drinks on the patio this year!

My boyfriend and I came in this evening and had calamari and bowl of Mouthwatering French onion soup. The other soup this evening was the Manhattan chowder.for the appetizer. And for the main course he had a fish fry with french fries and coleslaw. My main course was lobster mac & cheese. Unfortunately there are no photos to share as we ate them, as we couldn't wait. The food was absolutely magnificent. The only thing that did not get touched before I had a chance to photograph them with it that's just amazing desserts. Shamrock Jack's resturants is an absolute & definite must

We couldn't decide what to do for dinner so we came down the road to one of our local hangouts. I have been here plenty of times but just realized I haven't written a review! To start - we waited ~10 minutes to be seated because the kitchen was overwhelmed. To me, this is excellent management and I really appreciate that (as I am sure the kitchen staff did too)!! I definitely did not mind waiting as we just grabbed a drink at the bar and sat outside in the beautiful weather. My husband ordered the fish fry, which he said was absolutely delicious. He subbed out coleslaw for Mac salad too and he said their Mac was superb. I ordered a special, which was probably the best meal I have had in a LONG time. Teriyaki pork ribeye, garlic parm fries & roasted asparagus. Wow, just wow. I don't think I've ever had a pork ribeye before but this was so tender it basically fell apart. The teriyaki sauce was amazing and not too salty or overwhelming as some can be. The garlic Parmesan fries were crispy, garlicky and parmesany (haha) and the asparagus was roasted to perfection. Overall, this special should become a regular menu item so I can come back next week and have it again!! We also sat outside on their patio and got to enjoy the sounds of Seabreeze and of course, people watch! Wonderful experience here, as usual!

The Owner is Extremely Rude!!!…read more We stopped in to get fish dinners recently. After looking at their menu, my husband had a question. He asked the owner his question, and the owner replied, "Can't you read?". My husband said, "Excuse me!". The owner tried to change his tune, but it was too late, and we just walked out. There are so many places to go to for a great fish dinner (The Winfield Grill, Chick'n Out, Bill Gray's, Palmers,...), where you'll not only get great food, but far superior services and get treated with respect. In addition to this owner's terrible attitude, this place has a "Very Fishy Odor", and that's never a good sign when purchasing fish from a "Fish Market". We will never go back to Captain Jim's, and strongly suggest that others do the same.

Rather than chunks of soft white and red meat and visible claw meat, it was cut up big squarish chunks of white, brown, and rubbery meat. I'm sure it was lobster, but the preparation/composition was very different from other places. The lobster was overcooked and rubbery. There was not enough butter. It was in a plain hotdog bun rather than a toasted brioche bun. I had to add more butter. I think you should try a warm buttered lobster roll from Nolan's on Canandaigua ($25), the restaurant or the snack shack, to know what it should look and taste like. For this price the quality has to improve... I won't be back unless I see pictures that it's better. I was really really really looking forward to having a go-to lobster roll spot.

Good parking and really nice waitstaff. The wine was a generous pour, which is always nice... but then we ate. Our first course was a "shrimp cocktail", which was six giant shrimp that had long outgrown their flavor, and a cocktail sauce that was extremely heavy on the horseradish. Second course: I had the Italian Wedding Soup. Husband had a side salad which he said was just fine. The soup was a large bowl of soup, and by the time we got halfway through, our entrees arrived, so we set the entrees aside to finish our sides. The soup was fairly tasteless; in fact it was very similar to the Progresso canned soup of the same name. I couldn't eat it all. A cup of soup would have worked much better. And then we turned to our entrees. Mine was Chicken Parmigiana and husband had spaghetti with marinara with a chicken cutlet. The amount of spaghetti in the big white bowl was - and I am not exaggerating - about the size of a soccer ball, with the chicken riding on top. The marinara on my husband's pasta tasted like tomato sauce without much of anything else. The Vodka sauce on mine was better. Cardinal sin of Italian dining: there was water in my husband's pasta that mingled with the sauce until it was like tomato soup. But why am I complaining about too much food, even when it wasn't that tasty? Because it didn't feel like dining, it felt like feeding time at the zoo. I suggest they concentrate their portions a bit and add flavor. I hope their $58 steaks are better. We brought home our leftovers, but we're going to add some veggies & spices to them. I really wanted to like this place, and I'm sad that I didn't.

If you're looking for a spot to dine on a pleasant day, I would recommend this spot without reservation. It's right on the lake and I felt myself immediately relax into the sunshine and views. If you look at my pics, it looks a bit hazy. Canadian wildfires were causing some smoke and haze but on a brilliant sunshiny day this spot would be outstanding. We arrived around 11:30am and were able to be seated straight away and order. As we sat, the patio definitely began to fill though! For my lunch I got their grilled salmon salad. It comes with grilled salmon over a bed of greens with cucumber, onions, tomato, and mandarin oranges with a side of ranch. All the ingredients were wonderfully fresh. The salad and salmon were basic but solidly good. Our server was friendly and the prices were reasonable.

First, we sat at the bar while we waited what the waitress said was 40 minutes (turned out to me much longer as people were clearly seated before us and came in after us!) The drinks we ordered were good but steeply priced at $12 for a small plastic cup loaded with ice. The bar tender was a little snotty at first but then lightened up and we liked him. Our 40 minute wait turned out to be at least an hour and half. Finally we were seated. We had already decided what we would try for dinner. I chose the coconut shrimp which I always get and love. I ordered it with cole slaw. We told the waiter we wanted separate checks which today with the technology is very easy. My friend ordered the fish fry with rice "pilaf" and coleslaw. We waited a long while for our food. We asked for water and waited at least 20 minutes and even though I asked for lemon and straws none were delivered. Another long wait as I won't drink from the glass directly. Finally got that and another maybe 45 minute wait for our entrees. The plate was bare and overly empty as 6 shrimp lay flat on the plate and a bowl of slaw sat on the other side of the plate. O M G. Have you ever eaten plain shredded cabbage with very watery mayo over it? No flavor at all and no carrots or anything extra just watery , inedible cabbage. Strike one. So I was excited to try the shrimp hoping it tasted much better than it looked. Nope. Cardboard with cooked wheat flour and a piece of coconut here and there enough to attempt to identify it as having coconut. Shrimp was dry as cardboard and tasteless. Not even enough coconut to get stuck in my teeth! The sauce to disguise the horrible flavorless shrimp was horrible so I asked for cocktail sauce which at least added some flavor. We were starving so we ate and did not see our server for at least another 45 minutes or I would have complained. Overall sincerely the worst meal I have EVER had. I would have been happier sacrificing the $32 that this pathetic entree cost by tossing it to the lake gods for offering us a lovely sunset. I won't talk about my friends fish fry. It was soggy and tasteless and the "pilaf" inedible as was the coleslaw. She wasted even more $ on her food (with a dessert) with the very mediocre key lime pie which was promised to be the best in the area. (Another big NOPE). She also had bruschetta which I tried and it was disgusting but again we were starved. I ordered the seafood bisque)we had these while waiting at the bar. The bisque was ok probably from a can and again the wait being so long I would have eaten saltines alone. Overall I can truthfully say for both my friend and I that it was the absolute WORST dining experience of our adult lives. I will NEVER return and will tell EVERYONE I know to stay FAR FAR AWAY!! You can go up on the berm and watch the same sunset. It would have been much more pleasant. Between us we WASTED well over $100. Everything fell wayyyyy short with absolutely nothing at all up to par. "Food" incredibly overpriced and I would not have been happy with my meal at half the price and I speak for my friend as well. Horrible service, horribly crowded, horrible excuse for what they call food. I call it something I would not even give to a pet. Obviously our advice is to find another place to spend all that $. Maybe you will actually be served something edible. Oh yeah and the waiter forgot (in all those hours) to bring separate checks. Lol. What a sad joke the experience was.

From the moment we sat down at a high-top along the bar (10/10 decision upon making the reservation), everything just clicked: warm ambiance, buzzing energy, and service that was genuinely friendly without feeling scripted or rushed. The staff made us feel like they were happy we were there--not just doing their jobs. Now let's talk food, because wow. We kicked things off with the Wagyu tartare (luxurious, balanced, melt-in-your-mouth) and duck croquettes (crispy and well balanced). For mains, my son went with the 24 oz prime bone-in ribeye, and I ordered the 14 oz New York strip--both cooked exactly how steak should be cooked. Perfect temperature, beautiful sear, deeply flavorful. Sides were shared and spectacular: roasted thyme mushrooms, potatoes au gratin, and creamed spinach--which may very well be the best on the planet (I will die on this hill). In the spirit of full honesty, when we come back (and we absolutely will), the two items we'd rotate out just to try something new would be the duck croquettes and the potatoes au gratin. Both were very good, but everything else we ordered--and clearly much of what's still on the menu--has an even higher ceiling of potential, and we're eager to explore it. Dessert sealed the deal. My son demolished a crème brûlée with appropriate birthday enthusiasm, while I tackled the caramel carrot cake, which was decadent in all the right ways and not overly sweet. In short: food, service, and ambiance all exceeded expectations--by a lot. If you've never been here: go. If you go occasionally: go more often. This wasn't just dinner--it was a celebration done right. We'll absolutely be back. Note: while their classic steakhouse menu, with some pizzazz, is perfect... My only want for this place would be for another appetizer selection or two that does not contain any sort of fish/seafood as we have family members with sensitivity - and we were hesitant to order the famous house made chicken nuggets with caviar as we are still finding out the range of foods we need to steer away from.
