CUSTOMER SERVICE SHOULD BE EQUAL TO ALL CUSTOMERS. Ok I will say their food is good but the service is horrible. We walked in and ordered our food, paid, told it would be 20-25 mins, and sat down. I am not one to usually think this way but we have been here for over 40 mins, still waiting. When we placed our order there was no one inside no phone calls placing to go orders either (those began 10 mins after we sat down) however, everyone else who came in after us are being served. Three different tables were given their food, not including the to go orders being handed out, and we are still waiting. (Currently writing as we are leaving) Service is ridiculous and there was no explanation as to why everyone else was being served before us. Even when they handed me my they kept asked if I had already paid, in a tone that was extremely rude. I refuse to go back, I doubt they will care, and the people I took with me will also not be returning nor recommending this place. If you want to get ignored or treated as if are a second class citizen this place is perfect. read more

I wanted something nearby my work and Indian food so decided to come here. It's a lil hidden on the corner lot of Shaw and golden state next to the storage buildings. While entering you can order your food up front and proceed to the dining area towards the back of the store where seats and tables are available for you to sit and wait for your food. I ordered the butter chicken, 2 nam garlic bread and 1 side of rice. As I'm waiting, I do recall the guy up front didn't ask me if I wanted spicy or mild after reading previous posts. So if you want it spicy make sure to tell him. The communication isn't quit there and if your not familiar with Indian food, it doesn't make it any better. I've been waiting since 3:20 and it's not 3:47 and my food is still not ready. I can overhear the customer sitting next to me saying "it's taking so long". I just spoke with her rn she said she has been waiting for 40 MINUTES! this is also her first time but 40 minutes are you kidding me?! They quoted us both 25 mins. After talking to her, she has gone up to get her refund. I decided to go up as well after seeing A CUSTOMER THAT HAD JUST CAME IN AND SAT DOWN AND GOT HIS FOOD BEFORE MINES. WOW! ARE YOU SERIOUS! After waiting 40 mins I finally got my food and my lunch has ended. The food overall is good/okay but the customer service and wait is just bad. THEY WEREN'T EVEN BUSY. Came here for the first time with family. My aunt had heard good things about this place from a friend of a friend. Like a lot of other places, this restaurant is inside of a small grocery store. Its totally unassuming. It's located inside of a little strip mall/ business center. It's kind of confusing walking in here as a first timer. It really looks just like a grocery store with lots of shelves. They have a large sign up in the back corner of the store that says 'Dining Area.' Walking in we assumed that's where you'd order the food, but it was just seating. A customer who walked in with us saw our confusion and explained that we had to order up front. We walked back up front and saw the big menu behind the register. Ordering caused a bit of a confusion for the man taking our order. I had asked if the butter chicken came with rice or not. Some places include it. That same customer who helped us earlier was up front and helping translate. He said that it did come with rice. After he took our order the younger man rang up the order after we repeated it to him. But it was confusing again because he said it didn't come with rice so we ordered 3 sides of rice. Having never been there before we didn't know their portion sizes. We went back to the dining area and patiently waited for the food. The kitchen is on the opposite corner of the closed off dining area so they have to walk it back there to you. I see that they were trying to maximize their floor space, but I do find their dining area to be awkwardly placed since the entrance is at a 45 degree angle facing the far wall. This nice elderly woman brought us out our food in stages, but she didn't speak any English so it got confusing when she tried talking to us. We had ordered samosas and gotten the sauces, but all of our other food was there except the samosas. After a couple minutes of confusing dialogue she left and shortly after another man came to ask us what we needed. After clarification he eventually brought us the samosas. As far as the actual food goes, I would come here again. We didn't order anything adventurous; 2 orders or tandoori chicken, butter chicken, garlic naan, samosas and rice. We probably got the equivalent to Chinese food's orange chicken and fried rice, but everything was delicious. Well, except for whatever that small side dish was on the styrofoam plates they brought out was. The tandoori chicken... wow talk about A LOT of chicken for only $7.99. It could easily feed 2-3 people. It was very moist/ tender and the outside had parts that were nice and crisp. I didn't think I liked tandoori chicken because I had it once at Elephant Lounge and didn't like it, but this place definitely changed my mind. The butter chicken was good too. They didn't ask if we wanted it mild or spicy, but it was mild and I'm ok with that. The sauce was flavorful, the chicken tender, and it was a good accompaniment to the rice and naan. The samosas weren't bad, but I've had better and I probably wouldn't order them again here. They're huge at 75¢ a piece, but the filing was dry and kept its balled up shape. The outside was fried and super crunchy so there was a gap between the filling and the dough inside that made the filling fall out. The store is really clean and the employees are nice. There's just that language barrier like I talked about earlier which makes it hard if you're in unfamiliar territory. The aisles are on the narrow side and they've filled up the store with as much stuff as possible. Came in after 1pm on a Saturday and they had a constant flow of customers coming in and out. I'd recommend this place to others. Just have a little patience though if you do when it comes to communication. read more

On the way to Sequoia NP and Kings Canyon NP, decided to stop at Indian grocery just to get few snacks... But what we found was amazing. Not just grocery store but a full fledged Punjabi restaurant and Sweet maker. They make fresh Punjabi food fresh at the backside. Also they make fresh Indian sweets and snacks...Such kind of authentic food was not found even in NJ. Total hidden gem. I just know I had goat stew. I don't know if there is a specific way to eat this but I ate it all. Goat stew itself is good with the garlic bread or rice would be great too.The condiments is wow.. They thing on the left of my foam plate is super strong salty sour fermented pickled whatever. Interesting flavor.. Raw onion didn't compliment the stew well. But like I said. As it goes with every indian restaurant chutneys are a must with most bitings....They served us pickles instead of chtuneys. When we asked the chef to prepare the chutney, he didn't know what we were talking about. In the non-veg dishes we ordered chicken for starters, the batter used was extremely salty, when we asked the chef to prepare the same dish in a less salty batter, he refried the previous dish and brought it back to us. Chicken tikka were average as the marination was very blend and lots of food colour was used. In the main dishes, the gosht was ok, purely because the meat was good, the curry in which it was made was pretty average. The butter chicken was ok and the masala curry was quite good. The vegetarian dishes were quite hopeless. The raita was extremely good with the rice. All in all the only things that was good is where the chef didn't have to make an effort for instance the raita. The rest of the items were quite disappointing. Kudos to the waiters who served as they deserve full marks for service. But again we were the only group in the restaurant at the time. Do not know how they would cope if there were 2-3 other groups. read more

This place puts the b in busy. I love coming to this Indian grocery store/restaurant, they sell everything imaginable. The employees working here are always welcoming, if you can't find something you're looking for they will help you find it. I love coming here for sweets, snacks, spices and atta. The restaurant section is very small but there is definitely room to sit down and enjoy a meal. I personally have not ate here but I have picked up some food to go. I love their fish pakora, it's fried goodness! Their chili paneer is to die for. The bindi masala and chana masala are just as amazing. The garlic naan comes in a big portion. This is a grocery store that also prepares and serves food. I ordered the butter chicken, basmati rice, garlic naan, and samosas. The butter chicken was spicier than I am used to, and the samosas had a lot of pepper. Overall, it was good. So this place is a hit or miss. When its a hit, its a 4 star. When it's a miss, its a 2 star. So this is the right rating. We ordered catering from there for an event. Though the time was set, we had to wait 45 minutes for the food to be given. The food in this event, was very delicious. I couldn't stop eating it. At another time, the food was just way too salty or lacked salt. The raita, I had to add salt and black pepper to enjoy it. It was very underwhelming. All in all, they food could be great, or could be mediocre. not sure what aspects are in play but be prepped. read more

My family was been coming here for a while and we love the food, however, service could use help. I personally work in the customer service industry and never have a hard time ordering but the rest of my family are always misunderstood and the people at the front don't speak English clearly so there is a lot of miscommunication. Good and prompt! My family was craving for some indian style food, but we didn't want a full restaurant experience but we came across this on Yelp. (Thanks Yelp!) It was perfect, the food was delicious, the servings were righ for three of us - including a growing teen - we had an order of goat curry, butter chicken, rice, and naan. We did some grocery shopping there as well - tea, snacks and such. They have a selection of groceries I wish I knew more on how to use. The place is very casual, but well tended to. Traveling for work, this place is near the office and I was craving Indian food. I went out of my comfort zone and ordered the Biangan Bhartha (eggplant). Also garlic naan and basmati. Everything tasted fantastic, probably the best Indian food I've had in a while. The eggplant was spiced perfectly, just a hint of heat nicely balanced with the other spices.
