Good indian food and indian sweets,serving size for curries can be a bit bigger,but good tasting food

The food is amazing. My favorite is there Potato and cheese bits and there wraps are delicious. There always so nice and helpful.

Vegan Friendly! The two ladies that helped me were more than accommodating and answered my questions as to which dishes are vegan. They even circled all the items in a menu for me. The Golbi Manchurian is my favorite and they make the best Samosas! My family and I are here at least once a week! Took off one star because communication can be a little iffy depending who you are talking to. I ordered to go once, spoke with a young gentleman and I asked for vegan, but still got dishes with dairy. I asked if certain dishes can be made vegan that normally have dairy in it, I was accommodated, but the dish didn't' come out very good. I won't hold it against them because I asked, I will just stick to the traditional non-dairy dishes from now on. :) read more

Went there for lunch today...liked the food mostly so took a take out for dinner of amristsari kulcha and kadhai paneer. To my utter disgust found a sharp piece inch sharp stone in the kulcha. We had really loved the amristari kulcha when we had that for lunch, along with pindi chole and dahi bhalla (center was raw - but overall tasty), soya kebabs (which were mostly burnt). Ordered paneer tikka masala. The paneer was so hard to bite. It didn't taste anything like paneer. It also didn't taste fresh. Most my family had upset stomach because of their stale food. Samosas also were twice fried. They were oily and too spicy for medium. The rice was under cooked. Would not order food from there. Edit: Got a compliment for this review from the owner's wife. It was all good until she said when you go out to eat remember what your parents taught you. Excuse me, I do remember what my parents taught me and that's why I was honest. Instead of taking criticism and trying to improve on it, I felt she was taking it personal and felt the need to attack my upbringing. Listen, I am entitled to my opinion as a customer. As a business owner, or "the wife of the owner", you should have a thicker skin and work on improving your business and learn how to respect other people's opinions. Businesses pay a lot money to survey and learn what their customers want. I gave you this information for free. Appreciate my honest review and don't bring God and Praying into this. My review of your food has nothing to do with my relationship with my God. And talk about politeness, Work on improving yourself and your business, It will only benefit you on a long run. This review is for their food only, i have yet to shop there for groceries. Giving them one star because the food I ordered was stale and everything tasted very bland and tasteless. The kachori I ordered was horrible! It had absolutely no salt in it. The samosas were hard and had no flavor at all and the mixed pakoras were stale and kinda chewy and rubbery. This was the first time I introduced my kids, daughters, to Indian food. I really like the yellow curry with the veggie rice. The garlic nan was really good and even better dipped into the curry sauce. They had tofu in orange curry which was pretty tasty also. Both girls liked the basmati rice and curry sauce. I was so pleased with all the different flavors of curry to try. I felt very comfortable eating with my girls and having them try all the different things that appealed to them. The girls tried a few of the pastries which were ok, but the buffet was by far the best for them. Definitely going back with my girls and a few friends. read more

I start going to this place long time ago , and like it there because its vegetarian restaurant ran by Sikh family , but slowly they start compromising the quality of food and terrible service..... oh God damn , I'm a punjabi guy, I understand that they are trying to make a honest living but lately that place is being weird, the food is not fresh at all , probably they feed us the food from leftover buffet ,I know because I'm from punjab qne know what good and bad food is , so I'm deciding not go there ever, and the owner if you reading this, be mindful how you talk next time , you dont have to be rude just admit you give terrible quality service read more

Many of my students never had Indian/ Pakistani food. So I ordered some, they loved it!!

If doing take out for buffet, but planning to eat at restaurant, weigh food first, or you will be charged double

First off, I am a bit of a Punjabi or Indian food snob. Let me first say that Punjabi is completely different than most so called Indian foods, that being said I hope I am speaking to the choir, if not... Punjabi is mostly vegetarian from what I am told. I remember the first time I came here, I was blown away at the flavor of the food. It was very fresh and full of aroma and spice. I ordered a favorite of mine palak paneer. And some naan bread. The third time I came back was when they had the buffet. Hands down best buffet I have ever had, this place is in my opinion home made amazing quality. For some reason I really feel that the reviews are mostly from patrons who either have no clue how big a samosa actually is (Probably used to those mini frozen ones) or how an actual Indian vegetarian food tastes like. Yes the samosas are good but not great and at 1$ each they are expensive considering they are smaller than normal size. Now coming to their veg buffet, the appetizer section was bland just some old toasted so-called pakoras, the curry section was just too much they had shahi paneer / aloo mattar / Bhindi sabji / Aloo Gobi / Daal tadka / Mix veg curry / Tofu curry / Kadhi pakoda and Sarso ka saag. What's the point of having this big of a selection if its not being rotated and kept fresh. Now the garlic naan was made fresh but absolutely bland and dry can't understand why they just couldn't splash some butter on it. They had two rice a lemon (dry and tasted bad) and a regular jeera rice, for dessert there was fruit custard and gulab jamun. The Raita had a rotten taste to it coz of the ingredients that went in. Otherwise it's a one stop Indian store [Restaurant, sweet shop, grocery, ethnic wear, Religious items, Indian Movies etc] and not enough people to handle it. I came to visit my mom from San Francisco and we were interested in finding something that was healthy and delicious. We tried this Indian buffet and were pleased to find that it was vegetarian! This is the most delicious vegetarian Indian buffet that I've experienced and I've tried Indian food all over California and the states. It surpasses many Indian restaurants in San Francisco, across the board in taste, freshness and superior service and friendliness. the food is good, and I've coming her a couple of times now for about two years and I was there recently and i found another hair in my plate. The first time I found it in my samosa chat and they said it was ginger and would offer me a new one made. But instead they took the same one I gave them and put it in a different container only smushed so it won't be noticeable (it was the same one). Then last week I found a obvious eyelash in my plate, and I was furious. I refrained from saying anything and decided not to come back. Not to mention that day they charged me the wrong meal ( I didn't notice till I got home) and when I came back for a refund they refused to give me my whole money back. So this was their trick, before going to ask for the money they owed me back I looked at their menu on Yelp to see how much of a difference I was charged. The difference was $6 dollars, then when I went in and gave him the receipt the man at the front said it was only 2 dollar difference. So he blatantly lied to my face because the menu they have on Yelp is the same one they use at the restaurant . Another time when I ordered two candies which were the size of a dime it came out to 2.50 ? I was shocked then I realized the didn't weigh the box it comes in before hand and that's why it came out expensive for just two little candies. Then when I asked politely if I can get the candy without the box the lady at the front ignored me. It feels like the type of environment where you have to be extremely kiss up in order to get decent service or else they'll ignore you. read more

I always come for their lunch buffets! I am vegan, it is best to ask which items are vegan, as they change all the time for their buffets. Half the items are usually vegan! I lovee their veggie parkoras! If you're vegan you'll have to ask for something other than naan, since their naan has milk. They are so very helpful if you tell them you're vegan! I've been to this place twice, the second visit was a very regretful visit. The person taking orders was very mean and arrogant. Beware of the their website prices, its not reflective of the true price. I ordered the mixed vegetable curry and on the website it says $5.99. But when i checked my receipt, it is $7.99. I Have to say this is some of the best food I've had in a LONG time! The service is great, too! I went here with my mom a few weeks ago to try something new and we were given top of the notch service and our food was absolutely unbeatable. Today my dad and I ordered some food to go and it was absolutely phenomenal. I am genuinely pleased with the authenticity, flavor, and beauty of the food. I encourage people who are willing to try something new to go here because it's just. To die for. Honestly, best food ever. I wonder if they have different cooks at different times? We ordered several dishes with garlic naan, always mild and we love it! I especially enjoy the bangain bartha (eggplant with peas) and palak paneer (spinach with cheese cubes). Aloo gobi (potatoes with cauliflower) is also excellent. Filing and delicious. However, the most recent time we went, we order the exact dishes as before but it was SOOO spicy! The bangain bartha was sour instead of sweet. Everything was just too spicy and our stomachs hurt. We discarded all the dishes except the naan. Next time, we will have to order it NO spicy. read more

My favorite Indian grocery store in Stockton. They recently expanded to include a restaurant. I haven't stopped to sit down and eat there yet but I've ordered plenty of takeout. Their garlic naan's and samosas are amazing and always made fresh. My favorite entree is the Shahi Paneer- spicy, savory, and good til the last drop. It can be a little heavy (a lot of cream and cheese) but worth the weekly indulgence. If you like Indian deserts I highly recommend grabbing the "Deep" brand Ras Malai in the freezer section. It comes with a dozen pieces and is on par with any Indian restaurant. read more

I LOVE THIS PLACE! An Indian grocery store and restaurant combination. The store is a great place to buy spices and just about any other kind of Indian groceries and supplies you can think of. The restaurant is vegetarian which makes me so happy! You can eat there at the buffet or take out which is what I always do. To me, they serve the very best Indian food in Stockton, on a consistent basis, and are some of the nicest people you will find. Near the check out counter is a case of hot samosas which they package up nicely with two wonderful sauces, great when in a hurry.
