There is probably a reason Shane Co is so popular. Pretty good prices (you CAN get lower if you shop around). Sales is pretty good. They definitely make it about you and what you want, not just trying to hit your top dollar mark so they can capitalize best. They basically have their rings/settings separate from stones. So if you find a ring you like you can "cut corners" on the stone by reducing quality or bump the size down a little. Honestly to the naked eye it is hard to tell these imperfections. Cool thing is that if you're into looking at diamond quality ratings... Shane will let you look at the imperfections with a jewelers glass. I like that kind of stuff, so I was excited to actually see the differences between different ratings. My GF could care less though so long as it is "pretty." The negative with Shane is customization. Pick your setting and then pick your stone(s). You might be able to pick between the setting metal but other then that you get what you pick. This helps keep costs down but cuts down on your creativity. One other thing is that Shane is seemingly good about aftercare. Cleanings, resizing, replating (for yellow gold) are generally included. Want to upgrade? Then you can kind of trade in your old ring/stone and pay the difference. That is pretty cool for if you get rich in the future. Ha! read more

I went in to get see the large variety they advertise on the radio in diamonds. I was looking for a men's ring and unfortunately the selection wasn't that large. Eli the gentleman who assisted me suggested a custom route. He took down my information and told he'd send me a quote in just a couple of days after speaking to his design team who was located internationally. A little over a week went by and I never heard back, so I called myself and spoke to Eli. He said that whatever I requested wasn't possible. A simple band with 3 rows of diamond. I was disappointed that I had to reach out & they weren't even able to do accomplish a custom ring as they always advertise. I LOVE Shane Co! They have the BEST customer experience. I'm not one to make a decision easily, especially something like a ring that I will wear for the rest of my life. I guess it depends on whether you are buying or selling. I offered them a wedding ring jewelry which they described as gorgeous, but they were only willing to offer me the gold and diamond content. I then took it to a pawn shop where I obtained more than twice what Shane Co. offered me. I think the difference is that the pawn shop will try to sell the jewelry as is, whereas Shane Co., understandably, I suppose, cannot sell used jewelry next to the new stuff. read more

I moved to Tucson from Denver where I had purchased several jewelry items from the Shane Co. Was happy to see they had a location in Scottsdale as the jewelry needs to be inspected every 6 months for the warranty to stay valid. I took an item to the Scottsdale location for a repair. Was very disappointed at the way I was treated. It was immediately obvious they didn't want me in their store at all let alone with the virus precautions they were taking. We were wearing masks and maintaining distancing but the blond woman especially who was sitting at the table inside the door couldn't get me back out the door fast enough even though they claimed to be open for business. She managed to look down her nose at me even though she was sitting down. I felt completely unwelcome. I was never treated like that in Denver. I have come to this location several times to get my wedding rings cleaned (originally purchased here). They are always busy but I've noticed that they were extremely busy this last visit. It took about 15 minutes before anyone approached us to ask how they could help. We were greeted by Matt (or Chris) who took my rings back for cleaning and then Sarah came back a while later and said that she was taking over. Then a little while later, another woman came over and finished up with us. I had to leave one ring for some additional cleaning and the entire time she spoke to my husband about it but only to me when greeting me and when we were thanking her for her help. She would ask the questions about contact info, etc. and I would answer them but she would direct the questions back to my husband. She also would never give me ANY eye contact whatsoever. It was awkward and inappropriate. I didn't catch her name but I did notice the city that was on her name badge. My husband and I have bought several rings from Shane Co., starting about 7 years ago with promise rings and eventually an engagement ring and wedding bands. I have LOVED every ring I have gotten from them! My heart broke in half when 2 weekends ago I got out of the shower and noticed that the diamond was missing from my wedding ring... not one of the little diamonds from the band, but the big beautiful centerpiece! I am pretty positive that it fell down the shower drain because I can not find it anywhere. I was sure that since I did not have the ring insured, there was no way of recouping the loss of that diamond - I would have to buy a new one or live without it. Apparently, I married Shane Co too... Not a happy customer here, and everytime I visit this company, which is way too often, it just reminds me how irritated I am. I have had my ring for almost 10 years now. This was the first and last white gold ring I will ever purchase and needless to say I have not purchased anything from Shane Co since. Apparently, my pH is not compatible with "their" white gold. The ring NEEDS to be rhodium plated about every 2 weeks, but who has time to run there everytime it starts looking yellow? I live 45 minutes away, and when you throw kids in to your life, whose 5 year old wants to sit on a 1 and 1/2 hour round trip visit to drop off the ring and another 1 and 1/2 hour car ride to pick it up? I have pretty much had my ring off my finger as much as I wear it. I take it off to bathe, wash my hands, do the dishes, clean, and to sleep at night. I had even stopped drinking soda for awhile, which helped by adding about 2-3 weeks. But please, I shouldn't have to change my lifestyle so that my ring stays "pretty." Their "customer satisfaction policy" is you can upgrade your ring at anytime. I picked this ring out to be married with it on my finger and have it forever. When I bought my ring I didn't think it was like a car that you buy or upgrade every couple of years. I have been told by other jewelers that if they would have made it out of 10K white gold, I may not have this problem. So, my question is, why didn't they? I would have gladly paid the extra price, because I have paid for it already in my time, gas, and aggravation running back and forth for the past 10 years.
