Our experience in finding an engagement ring was outstanding; thanks to Wixie. We went in on two different occasions. The store was extremely busy the first time. Each sales person had to help multiple customers at once. We were a little overwhelmed but found something we liked and put down a layaway payment to reserve it. The 60 day no risk return policy gives you a big peace of mind so you can sleep on it and shop around. We emailed Wixie links to other inventory we liked and mentioned that we were overwhelmed in the busy store. She suggested a better (less busy) time for us to come in and went *out of her way* to make that visit great. We had time to compare more rings and get educated on diamonds. My mom went here to buy a new wedding ring for my dad. There 25th wedding anniversary is coming up and she wanted to get him something meaningful (of course). This wasn't their first time going here for things of that sort so all of their info was saved. She put a ring on hold there while looking at other ones, and for whatever reason, these people called my dads phone number instead of my moms, telling him about the ring. This week has been extremely hard for my mom and when she found out that my dad knew, she went upstairs and cried for close to 30 minutes. This could've easily been avoided if the employees used their brains to know that they needed to call my moms number and not my dads. I have never been treated so rudely. Two sales women walked by me and my fiancé to ask other couples that came in after us if they needed help. We eventually tracked a person down, who then was distracted helping another couple in addition to us. Final straw was when a different salesman put himself between us and the man helping us by saying "why don't you scoot down to make room for others". I still can't believe it. I called to complain and asked for the manager, who was very nice and apologetic. The manager, Marie, was the only decent part about this experience. Still won't be coming back. read more

Shortly after I posted my review, Marie, a very nice woman called me. She went above and beyond to make sure things could be fixed. I didn't end up resizing my ring though as now it really seems to fit ok. Maybe being in a bad mood caused fat fingers, I don't know. Ha. But she was more than willing to work with me. I've been into Shane Co several times and have worked with many of the sales associates and I have had great experiences every time. Recently I went in with my brother to purchase a ring for his soon to be fiancé, and the process was smoother than I originally had anticipated. They took time to teach us about diamonds and find a perfect one to fit his budget. When I went back with his new fiancé to get the ring sized we worked with Wixie and she was a rockstar! She not only stayed late passed closing time to help us, but was able to expedite the resize process and replaced a broken necklace. I was beyond appreciative for such great customer service. I am sooo very happy with the service we received at the Westminster Shane Co location!! We bought my engagement ring here and they were so helpful and patient with me and my wants! We purchased a platinum pave halo set with a beautiful sapphire stone (which they hunted down for me because I was really picky about the color and shape). The price was reasonable without compromising on quality. They were never ever pushy and we really felt like they wanted the best for us and listened to what we wanted. They were respectful of our budget and made great suggestions. My engagement ring still looks great and I have had no issues with it. Taking it in for cleaning and inspection/maintenance this week. Unfortunately, we bought both our bands at the Greenwood Village location and have to say our experience there was less than stellar... They didn't seem to really know what they were doing. They told us when my fiancé (now husband) could pick up the rings and when he showed up they gave him a hard time about me not being the one to pick up my band and also did not have the size he ordered for his band available (they said it was to be shipped to that location but it hadn't shown up yet). So he finally got my ring and had to settle on a larger size for his band because we did not have time to wait as we were flying out of country for our wedding soon after. Specifically, I want to thank Cinda N. She was absolutely wonderful and a pleasure to work with. My wife saw a pair of diamond hoop earrings but they were in yellow gold. Cinda took down my info and responded back to me in 12 hours from when we spoke (next day. She found them in white gold! I was so elated that I immediately scheduled a layaway to start in 2 days. She updated my account info even though I had done it in store twice (Alpharetta and Duluth) and made sure I had everything I needed. I was so pleased with her service, knowledge and pleasant demeanor I emailed her to call me as soon as she could so I could just complete the entire purchase right away. My husband took me to Shane Co. to buy me a pair of pearl earrings for our 30th anniversary. The earrings I picked were posts and I specifically asked if it was a problem to buy another "back" to the post since I sometimes lose them. The rep said "No. It's not a problem. Many of our customers lose the backs to earrings." Sure enough, I dropped the back down the sink the next day and went back down to Shane to pick up another one. The customer service rep said she had to send the earrings back to the "factory" and it would take two weeks. I was disappointed, but my fault--I lost the back. Two weeks later, I called to see if the earrings had come in yet and was told that it would take 6 to 8 weeks. What disturbed me the most was the lack of correct info the reps had. Also why would Shane's earrings be made so that replacements for the backs would take so long? After posting this within a day, I was contacted by Shane Co. with info about the reason for the delay and what they could do to resolve my problem. Within a week, I had the earrings back! Please folks, read this review and the others below prior to giving Tom Shane your money. Please don't confuse incessant marketing with quaity products. After only three years, I am taking the diamonds out of my wife's engagement ring and having a new ring made because of issues with Shane Co products. Yes, the ring I used to propose to my lovely wife is soon to be a sad memory. In my opinion, the lifetime warranty is provided because it will become a necessity within 1-2 years of the purchase. Of the three jewerly pieces I've purchase at Shane CO, two of them broke within a couple of years. From my personal experience, I hope you live near one of the stores, because you'll be making a lot of trips to Shane CO for warranty work. The first piece that broke was a $200 onyx set that I purchase as a Valetines Dad gift. The necklace stone setting broke within 6 months of purchase. The seond piece was my wife's engagement ring. What a huge disappointment in a very expensive piece of jewelery that is suppose to represent our life's milestone forever...well...as long as forever isn't more than 3 years. The white gold band started to discolor within 6 months of purchase. It required a treatment every year or so to look reasonablly nice. Then, about 1 month ago, one of the center stone setting prongs broke off the ring. We returned the ring and picked it up three days later. The same prong broke one day after the repair! The Shane CO folks just tried to weld a prong tip back on the ring. This then required a THIRD trip back to Shane CO. On this third trip, the manage tried to blame it on the white gold treatment and then tried to talk us into a diamond seat that was twice as big as the existing seat. This would have made the ring look terrible! He really didn't seem to care about fact that they sold us the setting in the first place or the asthetic qualities of this $12,000 ring. When my wife refused and began to get annoyed with him, he relented and offered to "strengthen" the band and replace the prong's with an identical seat. Please stand your ground with your warranty repair and avoid being talked into the least expensive repair. 3 days after our FOURTH trip to Shane Co, the repaired ring fell off my wife's hand as she was brushing her teeth. The repaired band is now a different size than the original band. My wife was without her engagement ring for almost 3 weeks and now wears is sparingly due to the incorrect sizing. We've now decided to take the diamonds out of the ring and band and have a new ring made at a different jeweler. It kills me to eat the $1,800 cost of the setting, but from this past expereince, I don't believe Shane CO will even make good on a quality product. Buyer beware!!!!! read more

My fiancé took me here to choose the diamond for my band, Daniel helped us and he was extremely magnificent, friendly, and professional. He never pressured us into buying and gave us plenty of time alone to decide. This one star review is not for Daniel, Daniel is the only reason we are going back to Shane after an incredibly unsavory experience with David. We went in to look at platinum bands for my fiancé, David was pushing cheaper cobalt bands on us, and almost immediately started suggesting "layaway" to us. I plan to pay for the platinum band in cash, so the suggestion of layaway was just rude. We left that day without buying anything, since then, David has called my fiancé 4 times to ask when we will be coming back again. I read another review that mentions David as being like a used car salesman, I would agree. I do not feel he is representative of the Shane Co. standard and when my fiancé and I do go in to purchase our wedding bands, we will absolutely not be working with him. read more

My experience @ ShaneCo was absolutely terrible. My Story: 2 years ago I picked up a 3.02 cwt lab-created synthetic solitaire from auction in Canada. Since then I have contacted multiple jewelers, from Denver, Colorado & surrounding suburbs to Coronado Bay, California. When we started looking at bands & mountings, my friends continued to suggest I go to Shane Co - "They have great service", "I picked up my wife's ring there". I called and explained what we were looking for, but the associate persisted that she could not help over the phone and we must come down to the store. We arrive at ShaneCo and find a sales associate to help us. We explain EXACTLY what we're looking for. A white-gold band & mounting for a 3ct solitaire. To my surprise, the associate spent more than 30 minutes showrooming us NON-Solitaire settings, recommending high-price, diamond studded bands, 3-stone sets and even "matching" necklaces (for "Stocking Stuffers"). When we finally sat down with a few bands that fit our preference, I asked her to give us some time to discuss amongst ourselves, and in response she sat directly across the table from us, continuing to pitch additional gifts and recommend non-solitaire mountings that she had already shown us. I sternly pointed out that she wasn't leaving us alone, and we would really like to experience this special moment without high-pressure sales, peanut gallery comments and forced conversation with a stranger. She continued, and began adding that we should look at their engagement sets instead of finding a mounting for a lose stone. We left ShaneCo disgusted. I'm sure ShaneCo is a nice place for anyone who walks in with a blank check & no idea what he wants, or women with an affinity for big price tags, ShaneCo's associates will force-feed you whatever overpriced, hip-and-now junk your materialistically brainwashed girlfriend will love bragging about. It's a fad, a brand with commercialized expectations and no body. They want people to come in, buy what they're told to, and leave. This was made apparent by our associate's obvious, loud & rude comments and sounds of displeasure at the fact that we knew what we wanted, and were not interested in any of the other junk she was pitching us. read more

I had 3 experiences w/Shane Company, and 2 of the 3 were EXCELLENT! The first experience was great b/c my bf and I were in the beginning stages of ring shopping, and got a lot of information about the 4 C's, etc. We even carried around the cheat sheet everywhere we went. The second time, I went on my own b/c I had a better idea of what I was looking for, and had narrowed down my choices. Ashley was AWESOME, and so patient while looking through every single counter display. She even brought out a plain setting from the back for me to look at. The third time, I came back w/my bf to take a look at the rings I had looked at the second time around. I had found an additional setting during the visit, but it was in white gold. It's a basic milgrain setting, and I had inquired if it came in yellow gold. The person who helped insisted that it only came in white gold, though she could inquire... She didn't bother looking in the system. I just found that ring on their site in yellow gold. I'm a bit disappointed about the third visit. However, overall, everyone was friendly and helped us find the best settings/stones w/in the parameters we had set (cost, style, color, etc.). read more

I have always had great customer service from the sales people at the counters. They are very professional, knowledgeable and seem to have a good read on what I was interested in and made great suggestions. The customer service in the back, for making purchases, was not up to par. They were confused about how to input information (asking several others how to ring up an order) to start. Next once my ring was supposed to be ready I called to confirm that it was truly ready since I would have to travel an hour round trip to pick it up. The sales associate, David, refused to answer and said "we typically have orders ready when we say we will". When my fiancé called back he got the same message from David, but David was willing to look it up for him. When I arrived to pick up the ring, it wasn't to be found in the correct location. It was misplaced and took about 10 min to find it. Once it was found I was just handed the ring, no box or envelope. This of course was from the same sales associate, David. It seems that once a purchase is made that employees no longer care to give appropriate customer service. read more

They're willing to show you whatever you would like and in my case, walk around the store for two hours trying to pick out the right ring. NOTE: Don't be a dumb*** like me and beware of the 60 return policy. My engagement fell through about two weeks after the 60 days was up. I had no choice but to keep the ring because Shane Co would not accept returns after that period. Sucks, bad. In hindsight, I can always exchange the ring for an upgrade down the road. Buying a engagement ring can be a nerve wracking experience, but everyone at Westminster location makes you feel comfortable right away and the service is excellent until you walk out the door. This March my guy bought me an engagement ring from Shane Co. My ring is white gold and I noticed that over the last few months the gold was yellowing at the area on the inside of my hand. Even though I thought it was me being hard on jewelry, come to find out this type of wear is common with white gold. Do not waste your time ordering from this company online, they are seriously ridiculous. I ordered a simple pendant for my girlfriend, it was our 3 year anniversary. She was going to school in another state and I needed it overnighted so I paid the extra money. I log into my email the next day to find out that the order is in review. I go online to talk to a rep and they say that they need more verification and ask me the shipping and billing addresses again. On top of that they ask me where I placed the order, and treat me like they are doing this crazy security check. Excuse me but I ordered it on a credit card which is insured for fraud!
