When it happened again they let me choose a more durable ring which turned out to be the same price (so I didn't have to pay anything). No questions, no hassle. I have purchased jewelry from the Shane Company for over 30 years. Years ago I purchased a diamond engagement ring and wedding band for my wife. Recently I discovered that I had never insured the ring. When I called my insurance company to have an insurance rider added to cover the ring, my insurance company requested an up to date appraisal. I contacted the Shane Company Online Showroom via a chat session and was greeted by a woman named Jersey. I explained my situation to her and she immediately found my information in her files and said that she would have an appraisal emailed to me within 1 hour. I received the appraisal attachment in an email from Jersey within that hour time frame and presented it to my insurance company. Unfortunately, my insurance company informed me that I would need to present a separate appraisal for each of the rings and diamonds. I emailed Jersey and explained the situation to her and that I needed 3 separate appraisals for the insurance company. Jersey replied, "No problem" and said that she would get the appraisals back to me by the end of the day. Two hours later, I was emailed all 3 appraisals. I then emailed the appraisals off to my insurance company and had my coverage that day. When I initially contacted the Shane Company, I was prepared for an extended wait to receive an up to date appraisal, let alone 3 separate appraisals. To receive everything I needed for my insurance company within a 5 hour time frame was astonishing. My contact "Jersey" was polite, friendly and knowledgable. After my 5 year wedding anniversary, I expressed my want for a "big girl, grown up wedding ring". My husband had purchased me a promise ring from a pawn shop for valentines day, before we even decided to get married-and it ended up being used as my wedding ring-because we had nothing but each other. I started looking around online to a few different places, and I was blown away at the complete online selection that Shane had offered (I had a hard time finding ANY other online catalog this organized and user friendly). I was able to create a wide variety of designs and selections. The day came when we decided to go and investigate the Westminster Shane CO and try on some rings, see if we could get approved for a loan, or to put my dream ring on lay away. We walked in right at opening (amazing time actually everyone was so happy) We were greeted happily By Josh, and he immediately started asking me all the right questions. My husband was immediately approved for more than we expected, but in a perfect price range, so we proceeded. I told Josh our history, basic overall style and he started working right away. We pulled up my registry, and I tried on EVERY ring on it including a few more. Josh was great, and very knowledgeable about the rings. He would pull one out "just to try"- which i think he was trying to get my real sense of style- and If I didn't seem at least 95% interested in it, he took it away immediately, essentially saying "this is an investment, you need to absolutely love it, don't waste time on something you don't love" He made it fun for my husband as well, and we were all laughing and having a blast the entire time. When I first tried on my ring, I was in love but afraid that I would miss one, so he put it on the tray and handed me more, that were similar. I returned to this ring many times, and he finally said "that's your ring. you have worn and tried that ring on more than any other ring here. It is at the top of your price range for a ring before diamond, so lets start looking for what we want with the diamond so that we can make sure we hit your budget happily" he made us pick more than one style of diamond even though I knew that I wanted a heart shape, specifically for educational purposes. We tried 4 different styles and I still went with a heart. and we found my ring. As it turned out, my $35 dollar pawn shop ring, was a 14k white gold with diamonds promise ring from Shane CO! (worth much more than what my husband paid) They honored the lifetime warranty by completely overhauling it, and making it look completely brand new, and cleaned my other rings. I begged them to have my rings done the same day, and I was in luck! I am still in awe from my experience, and We already know we will be back! I thought I knew exactly what I wanted after looking online for a while, but when I tried it on in person, I changed my mind. Nick was very patient and enthusiastic about finding one I loved; he was adamant about me loving it and not just liking it. There was no pressure and he even stayed a bit after closing to make sure we were satisfied. We spent about an hour and a half, and at the end finally found one. Needless to say, we didn't have a good experience. Based upon what we already knew about diamonds, our sales person either didn't listen to what we were telling them, or didn't care and had another agenda. We left with the feeling that because we weren't ready to buy that they didn't want anything to do with us. To top it off, the sales person brought in a manager to help close the sale, which was not going to happen, as we had just started looking. I've bought four pieces of jewelry from this store and have had a great experience every time. The costumer service is seriously second to none. The last time I went in was just to get my wife's jewelry cleaned and while we were there the manager started a conversation with us. We got around to the story of my wife losing her wedding band in Mexico and I decided to purchase a new one. I had one of the worst experiences of my life with the Shane Co. I had decided to buy an engagement ring for my girlfriend and was shopping around for the ring. I decided to go into the Shane Co. to see what they had. As I walked in a salesman approached me and gave me a very canned speech about how great of a store they were and asked me what I was looking for. I gave him a few very specific guidelines that I knew I wanted in a ring. He looked a bit troubled and told me that they didn't have that many options for me. This was surprising to me because according to all the commercials and the speech I just heard they were supposed to have the largest selection of rings period. What I learned was that the shane company buys canned rings, and is not able or willing to modify them in any way other then setting the center stone. I was looking for a three stone ring with sapphires for the two side stones, and they were unwilling to take any of the three stone diamond rings and replace the side diamonds with sapphires, which is something that every other jeweler I had gone into was more than willing to do. This effectible made their "Large" collection very small. We proceeded and found one ring that was OK. I wasn't blown away by it, but figured I would get all the details and compare it to what I could find at a few other stores. I then explained to the salesman that for a center stone the most important thing to me was the cut. I wanted the best cut stone they had. He again gave me a quick speech about how all their stones are well cut and I didn't have to worry. I repeated to him that I wanted the best of his "well cut" stones and he brushed it off. At this point I was becoming a bit annoyed by the Shane Co. rhetoric. All of a sudden the salesman told me he needed to tend to some other business and handed me off to one of the other sales people on the floor. This was very annoying because I had to hear the same speeches again, and re-explain what I was looking for all over. Being a little bit fed up I hurried through the process and proceeded to try to leave the store. At this point the sales person became a bit pushy and really began trying to sell me the ring. I heard a bunch of things her like "Why are you apprehensive to buy the ring today"? and "Well we have the largest selection of rings anywhere so you won't be able to find something else like this at any other store". I politely told them I just needed to shop some more. At that point the sales lady asked me if she could have my phone number so the could store the specs for the ring under it so "when I came back they could easily pull it up". Trying to get out of there I gave them my number, and this was the worst mistake I could have made. A couple days later I was sitting at home with my girlfriend and the phone rang. I looked at the caller I.D. and there was a number I didn't recognize so I decided to let the answering machine get it. The machine picked up and I hear "Hello, this is the Shane Co. calling to see how your search for your engagement ring is going. We still have the one you were looking at on file, so when your ready to purchase give us a call or stop by". My girlfriend heard everything. I was enraged. I had been doing everything I could to make my proposal a surprise. And in one fell swoop the Shane Co. exposed to my plans to buy a ring and propose to her. I got up and left the house and went straight over to the store to talk to a manger. I told him that they had just ruined the surprise, and I was livid with them. He apologized and told me it must have been a new employee, because when ever they call somebody they are supposed to leave a dummy companies name. He assured me that he would bring this up with all of his employees at the next meeting and make sure that they knew better. This of course did nothing to help with the fact that the surprise of my proposal was now ruined. The manger asked if I would except a discount for the ring. I politely told him there was no way in the world they would ever get my business and left. I tried my best to put this whole bad experience behind me, but one week later I came home from work and there was another message on my phone from the Shane Co. It was the exact same one as the first. "Hello, how is the search for the engagement ring coming"? Obviously the manager had lied to me that they had another protocol in place and that he would re instruct his employees on how to handle phone calls. This second message solidified the fact that I had now received the worst customer service in my life. It proved that the Shane Co. is a bunch of pushy sales people. And there was no remorse for ruining the surprise of my proposal. I found a ring at another store in town and during that experience had one of the absolute best experiences I have ever had shopping. I urge anybody to shop for there jewelry at any other store than the Shane CO. read more

If you asked me a Sunday what I thought about the Shane Co., I would have said negative five stars and that I would never step foot in there again. HOWEVER, as you can see, I've rated them five stars. My fiancé asked if I would go look at rings with him to give him an idea of what I like, etc. We had an absolutely amazing time. Hayden was our sales associate and he was fantastic. He was patient, intuitive, fun and best of all, not pushy in the slightest. Here's where the unfortunate part comes in. After being engaged less than a week, I had a diamond fall out of my halo. I was not happy whatsoever. We took it in immediately where we found out that, literally, every single stone was loose. Literally every single one. No exaggeration. (There's 50 stones in the ring.) it would also take an entire week for it to be remedied. I was livid. I had my ring for less than a week and then had to give it up for a week. I may have been a little more upset than I should have been, but I'm newly engaged, so whatever. We got a phone call today that my ring was ready and fixed. The manager was EXTREMELY apologetic. They, free of charge, added a lot more gold to my ring to secure the stones AND (because we live two hours away) gave my fiancé $100 cash for gas. It was such an incredibly kind and uncalled for gesture. I will never go anywhere else again. My ring looks beautiful and the customer service we received is unmatchable to anywhere else. Long story but worth it - Through my own fault, of not having my rings serviced in over a year, two prongs broke and I lost my diamond. Needless to say I was crushed. Upon first going in I was offered an unusual discount on a new stone but at the time I couldn't so I chose to have it separated from my wedding band instead. When I went to pick them up, I found out that the "unsottering" & polishing process would reduce the width of my rings (considerably) and I was sadly disappointed but was willing to accept the natural consequences of not having them serviced regularly. As we were about to leave a manager came out and not only offered a new band to replace the now whittled away one but to also honor their lifetime warranty. No joke! Not only did they provide a new band, they GAVE me a new stone, a 6 prong head and fixed the width of my original engagement ring. I technically voided my warranty but they went above and beyond to help us. Caroline and Allen, thank you. What you have done for us is moving and a rare kindness in our society. They make a point of saying on their advertisements that their employees are not paid on commission...but if that's true, there must be SOMEthing that they do get for their sales, because they are very pushy. My husband and I had a horrible experience there when we were looking at rings. We were just looking, so that he could get some idea of what I liked. We were not ready to purchase. The sales girl we had took the pushing way too far. I expected a little, but once we had said no to buying today, and said no to paying a down payment today, and no to financing...she kept going and insulted my husband. She tried to pin us against each other, I guess to make him feel obligated? Her exact words were "But don't you want to give her the ring of her dreams? Doesn't she deserve that?" We were disgusted. Being a Colorado transplant, I have to admit I have never been to Shane. All I could go on was the commercials I'd hear on the radio. I liked the fact that their sales staff don't work on commission, and that was evident by how my experience went. I went to Shane yesterday with a friend and found the perfect ring. I felt guilty getting there kind of late, but I give all the credit to Laura for staying late. Almost 1.5 hours after closing! Laura was thorough, took her time, and wasn't in a hurry to go home. I felt super guilty for keeping her late. I was never pressured into spending more than my budget. However, I ultimately decided to spend a little more because I wanted the ring to be perfect, and that was all my choice. All Laura did was give me options and let me decide. Great thing is they will replace but if I ask for my ring polished they need it for two days unless you are getting married that weekend they will do it instantly ? I love this place!! My husband first got me a necklace from here for Valentine's day years ago. And this is the only jewelry place we shop at. They are a little more expenseive than other places, but their lifetime warranty makes up for it. I was graually converting all of my cheaper jewelry to Shane Co white gold so it all was real, and I am finally done (well, maybe)! My last purchase was a charm bracelet without the charms in white gold. It was pricey around $300 for just a plain bracelet, but it is real. I like how I can take it in anytime for cleaning and to have it replated w/ rhodium to make it shiny again. I usually go in 2-3 times a year for cleaning & check up and have the rhodium redone & polish once a year. The people are very nice & friendly. The down bad part is I don't live down the street anymore and have to drive about 30 minutes to get there and when I have to leave it for a few days and make a special trip back it wastes gas. So my husband and I try to plan our trip to take it in when we are already out that way. Their warranty is great! I lost a stone out of my wedding band less than a month after getting married from wakeboarding and have no idea where the stone went. I left it for a couple of days and it was as good as new. All of this at no extra charge. Everything is included in the warranty. I have been told that a lot of places charge quite a bit (around $200) to do the rhodium and make it look like new again and I pay nothing! Plus for so many pieces of jewelry it would be pricey. I have had my wedding ring for 10 years I started to react to the white gold I brought it back in they found the mold and it for me and platinum then credited my account the amount I originally paid for the white gold ring. While resetting my diamond in the new ring the diamonds corner got chip. They offered to replace the diamond for free with an upgraded version of my diamond to make up for the loss of my diamond my new ring looks amazing and once again the customer service and warranty at Shane Co is unmatchable read more

I just bought my Mom a necklace for a birthday gift at Shane Co and my husband and I both got our rings here. We've been married 2 years and have had no problems (I do have my ring inspected about every 6 months, so that probably helps). Josh helped me today and he was great. Very helpful and nice. Overall great experience at Shane Co. They definitely make sure you're taken care of. I don't purchase jewelry very often but I had a unique experience today. I went to a different jeweler a couple miles away to have a necklace repaired. My husband bought this necklace for our anniversary and the chain broke about a month and a half after I received it. They said the repair would be a charge of $30-45 or I could purchase the lifetime warranty for $75. I decided to wait to repair it due to having a lot of expenses in the next few weeks. I was disappointed that the chain on a $375 necklace broke so quickly and they wouldn't even look at it without charging me. I left and drove straight to Shane Co to get my ring inspected and buy my Mom's gift and I could tell such a huge difference in their customer service. Plus they have much better policies for repairs. I let my husband know that we need to go exclusively to Shane Co from now on. Too bad we didn't realize we were getting spoiled sooner :) read more
