We stopped in for lunch today, and that was a mistake. My husband's pulled pork was fine. I ordered the ribs. The ribs were dry, and hard, and they had a strange smell :-/ I brought them to the front counter and asked they exchange them for the half chicken. The outside of the chicken had a burnt/charred taste and the inner portions smelled off, much like the ribs. NONE of my meat was tasty, moist, or flavorful. Total waste of time and money!! We came by for lunch on a Saturday. Ordered Teriyaki Wings and Big Daddy pulled pork sandwich at the counter. We sat down and waited about 10 minutes. Our meals came out with nice sized potions. The pulled pork was good but not over the top great. The teriyaki wings were also good but very salts. The okra was fair and the coleslaw was sweet. Overall our meal was ok. What a great find in Perry, GA!!! We stopped for the night in Perry on our way to Disney. We normally stay in Valdosta but settled in Perry for this trip. I'm glad we did. I looked on Yelp and found Shane's. Pass on Sonny's which is across the street. Shane's is way better. The food came out fast and was delicious. The service was great and the restaurant was very clean. We had a party of 10 and had no trouble getting a seat. Everyone in the group made the comment that they would certainly go back to Shane's next time we come to Perry. Some of the best ribs I've ever had. We love ordering from Shane's Rib Shack I'd say twice a month. Their half baked chicken and a rack of ribs is what we normally order for the meat selection! So this Father's Day I order my husband favorite meal. We get home about 18 minutes later from picking up our order. I called the restaurant because they gave my son wrong bag. So he said we can come return the food and they'll make our order. I paid for the food over the phone prior to picking it up. I drive back to the restaurant and the gentleman at the front desk throws the wrong order I returned in the trash can. And brings me my order. And thank goodness I checked the bag because we were missing the ribs! I tell him and I said well you guys gave me the wrong order and I had to drive back it wasn't my fault. Shouldn't you guys accommodate me with something like free peach cobbler pie it cost about $3 I asked for 4 pies. He says okay and walks to the kitchen. He comes back from the kitchen and says the manager said we can't do that. We don't live in Perry. And it cost more to fill up our gas round trip than 4 peach cobbler side pies. Decent quick service barbecue chain restaurant. Shane's has an array of typical BBQ dishes: pork, chicken, beef, etc. There's also the usual sides of cole slaw, baked beans, mac and cheese. I ordered the baked potato with chopped chicken. The only downside was their use of the processed nacho cheese (I hate that stuff; use REAL cheese!). We also ordered the pulled pork plate. Since I love sauces, I doused my entree with copious amounts of hot, Carolina mustard, original, and spicy sauces. Each sauce was great. Inside, the restaurant is clean and well organized. The employees were friendly and service was good. Overall: I'd go back to Shane's. Great place to stop while en route to Florida. First timers here passing through GA and have to say I've had ribs all over the country, and at least at this location these are way up near the top. Like other reviews say the ribs melt right off and for me this sauce is a perfect balance of a couple different approaches, a little ohio, some Kansas, and some Carolina (maybe its all Georgia). The restaurant is a comfortable rib joint style place and generally a pleasant place to stay for lunch. Staff was excellent, everything was clean. Pork was dry, they were out of baked beans and sweet potato fries were over cooked!!! Tables were tacky.

It was not really bad, but seriously overpriced for the amount of food served in a Styrofoam box with no table service though. I also hate eating off plastic utensils so I'll bring my own silverware. Would I eat here again? No probably not. I was starving and I was actually looking for the Sonny's BBQ which I couldn't find from the interstate so I eat here instead. If I hadn't been starving I probably would've given the food two stars instead of three but hunger is the best spice! $2.29 for a fountain drink was pretty steep and the syrup mix was terrible. The green beans were mediocre, the coleslaw was average, and the Texas toast was toasted on only one side which is pretty chickenshit but like I said I was starving. Ordered delivery of two salas with chicken tenders and peach cobbler. The order arrived with no forks,spoons, etc. The chicken tenders were hard, had to have been cooked many hours earlier. Well as you can see, this is my second post, and no one has posted since my first. This time, only four stars. Tried the ribs this time, and they were absolutely delicious. Would definitely get again. Also ordered the pulled pork with two sides. Pork was delicious as well, but I agree with previous reviewers, the coleslaw is mushy. The cabbage is shaved too thin, it's not chopped. Further, the baked beans tasted like they came out of a can. I'd consider Bush's beans to be tastier/spicier. Our other side was mac n cheese, which was very flavorful, but a little on the dry side; not creamy. Beans and M&C need work. But what disappointed us was that this carryout order was for TWO, as noted to the cashier, not ONE. No napkins, and one pkg. of plasticware. Yes mistakes occur, but how do you eat ribs w/o napkins, and eat dinner with a spoon? We'd still go again when traveling through the area, but we'd check our carry-out contents before we left. read more

Last night my wife and I went in for wings. We both ordered 8 wings and a side of fries. Food is always good. But the wings were so small they looked like someone had already eaten all the meat of of them. $31 for 16 tiny wings, two sides of fries and water to drink is not a good value anywhere. Literally left hungry. I hear there is a wing shortage. Well I just bought a giant bag of big wings at Kroger for something like $6.99. Well, this visit to Shane's turned out a lot better than the last one. We lowered our expectations and downsized our order, and things turned out pretty well. We just got meat this time around (half a chicken and a pound of pulled pork), and did the fixings to go with it at home. The chicken was excellent (except for too much sauce on it) and the pork was pretty good, too. Recommended. read more

We stopped for gas on our way home from DisneyWorld and spotted Shane's Rib Shack. So glad we stopped! The pulled pork sandwich was huge and so moist and tender. It was served on Texas Toast. The sweet potato fries were also so good. Wish we had something as good as this in Indiana. The place was spotless and while it was quick service, there were people coming to check on us throughout the meal. Prices were great as well. Total cost for 2 of us was around $15. read more

The problem with Shane's is that the pulled pork usually has no smoke flavor at all. For a barbecue place, the meat should complement the sauce, but the lack of smoke leaves the pork itself rather bland and tasteless. While the portion sizes are generally good, it doesn't really help to have more of something with average flavor at best. There's better barbecue in Perry. read more

The young lady who took our order was very distracted, and asked each person in our three-person party to repeat all or part of our orders several times.
