Tried the teriyaki bowl and it just felt like 'ehhh'. I haven't been here for about 1.5 years and I wanted to try it again. The rice clumps together a little like sticky rice vs loose rice. The sauce is just sugary teriyaki and the chicken had some weird pieces in it. The customer service is kind and happy and the place looks clean inside. I feel like this is a very efficient family owned business but just needs some improvements. I wish they had better sauce. I wish the bowls had avocado automatically on it, not for another $2+. read more

Came here for the 1st time on a Friday evening to order take out. This place is located at the Norterra Shopping Center, the next parking lot away from Harkins Movie Theatre. Ordered the large size beef and chicken bowl with side veggies and 4pc gyoza. The portions are very generous, this one bowl can easily feed 2 people. Quality is exceptional, both the chicken and beef were grilled to perfection. The sauce that they use goes well with both meats. I didn't wait too long for my takeout order and the customer service here is fantastic. I noticed they do have very reasonable lunch specials so I'll be coming back here for lunch. The inside is very clean and tables were being wiped down while I waited for my takeout order. If you like grilled foods, come check this place out. They also have sushi rolls. This restaurant is located in the outdoor Shops at Norterra. I was thinking about sushi so this was the perfect place for that. There is a kiosk or you can order at the front counter. The kiosk was being used so I went to the front counter to order my spicy tuna roll, full order. You order and pay at the counter and staff will bring your meal to you. While you're waiting for your order, grab napkins, chopsticks, and soy sauce. The order came up quickly, and it was freshly made. The full order is eight pieces of sushi. They also have bowls, salads, stirfry noodles, tempura and side orders. The sushi was good. Very clean environment with two TV screens playing with no sound. Staff wiped down the tables whenever anybody left. Shared parking outside and Wi-Fi in many of the larger stores in the center. read more

My team went to lunch on Wednesday last week. They charged us for a redbull that I WALKED IN WITH. I noticed a few days after my team went to lunch. They didn't even ask!? They never handed me a redbull. I don't understand the reasoning. Warning to all, don't walk in with your own drink because they'll charge you. My order for reference was egg rolls. The redbull I had when I walked in cost about as much as the egg rolls. I hope they check their stock and realize next time they should ask before charging someone for a drink they walked in with. read more

I got the Beef Special and added Avocado to my meal at an Extra charge, The service was speedy. Under 5 minutes. Upon leaving the establishment I realized that the Avocado I ordered was not added. When I let the cashier know of my issue they were kind enough to not only provide me with the missing avocado but also refund me my whole meal for the inconvenience. Yogi's are usually pretty solid. I had been to a few different ones, and had always been impressed. I saw that they had one near work, so I called in a pick up order, drove up there and grabbed my stuff. I took it out to the car to dig in. I went with a Large Chicken Bowl. Total was just under $10.00. So far in Phoenix, Yogi's has been the place that reminded me of my teriyaki places back home. Today though, it was just a tad "off". The rice wasn't as sticky as normal, and the whole bowl was just kind of luke warm. Still tasted good, but not as good as prior visits to other locations. Maybe it was just a one off? I DID call it in and pick it up (nobody was in there), so maybe they got it done right away and it was sitting there for a few minutes? Not sure. I will try this spot again to see if it was just a one off, or if this location just isn't as good as the others. We shall see. read more

Me and my family love this restaurant. The serviced is very welcoming and fast. The menu offers lots of choices. The chicken was lean, well cooked, not greasy and very flavorful. Someone in my household orders from this location ( we pick up ourselves or use Grubb Hubb) at least once a week. The past few months after seeing that they have raised prices, we've all noticed that the teriyaki chicken bowls are lacking sauce. We usually purchase a bottle of the sauce to have some extra but they do not have them available to purchase. I recently picked up a few large size teriyaki chicken bowls only to discover that they had little to NO SAUCE ON THEM AT ALL! These bowls are priced at $10.00 a piece so I'd expect to get our usual 2-3 packets they would normally hand out with the large size bowls, especially since they are being stingy with the amount of sauce not being put on the chicken. Then after going through the to-go bag, found that they only gave out one extra sauce packet for each order. WOW?!?!?!?!?! I can understand the price increase but holding back on the sauce that should be on the item ordered in the first place is a total turn off. We may have to start going to the Bell Road location if the Norterra location doesn't get it together. That or go to L&L Hawaiian BBQ across the street from now on for all of our teriyaki chicken fixes.... read more

I stopped here many years ago for a quick lunch and from what I remembered it was pretty good. Unfortunately things seemed to have changed. The goyza wasn't bad. The fried vegetable yakisoba noodles were pretty terrible and portions were small. The noodles were soggy and lacking flavor. Highly likely I won't be stopping by anytime soon. read more

Not bad Went to Yogi's Grill to have lunch and meet with family and friends. The restraunt is very clean and the staff are friendly and accomdating. On this visit some of my lunch companions had sushi, which wasn't bad, just not as good as I had in the past. A few of us shared the potato croquettes, beef/chicken teriyaki, udon, and egg rolls. Used to love this place, we will not be back after our recent experience. The chicken was not well cooked and was in overly large pieces. Used to be tender grilled and in small pieces. The sauce was not the same. Parts of the vegetable tempura was hard like raw vegetable. Initially I thought maybe my taste buds were off, then my husband said something about both the meat and the sauce. AND then.... Went there craving some teriyaki steak. I settled on the large teriyaki steak bowl with spicy teriyaki. The steak on it has the presence of a sliced roast beef instead of a steak. But the flavor was pretty good so that's a plus. When you order a teriyaki steak bowl, that's exactly what you get, meat, rice, and sauce. This is kind of disappointing as I like vegetables with my bowls. You can add veggies for an extra charge, which brings a large steak bowl with veggies to about $15. Kinda pricey for what it is, but I've heard there are no atm machines in heaven, so there's that. All in all, I like their dishes and will continue to go back, just not as often as I'd like. For me this place is perfect for lunch. Cheap, good food and lunchtime portions of sushi on the side. Clean, quick and friendly staff. Can get hot during lunch because of the angle of the glass windows. They have a steamed vegetable dish with brown rice for very little money which makes a perfect everyday fast meal which is ideal if you want to stay away from fried and burgers. The fact that they have quick small cheap portions of sushi to go on the side if fantastic.
