Was looking for somewhere new to try around one of my businesses & I came across DA VALLEY GRILL next to my favorite Ammo store AMMO-AZ. From the outside it looks like a hole-in-the-wall BUT inside it's clean, the service was quick + friendly, and the Food was BOMB!! Nothing crazy, just clean quality food!! Def recommend for lunch in the Deer Valley AirPort area

This hidden gem is delicious! Everything was made fresh and was authentic! Don't waste your time at fast food Hawaiian spots. If you want quality service and food Da Valley should be your go to. It is mine now!

Visiting from San Diego and this was the best restaurant we tried here. Delicious food, generous portions, and great care in every dish.

If you are thinking about going to Da Valley, DO IT!!! The cashier was friendly and helpful, and super efficient. Had the order placed delviered so quickly! The inside is pretty normal; a little dingy but whatever, it was a place to sit while i scarf down the yummy food! I sampled everyones dish at my table. It was all great! Super hot, but after my tongue went numb from the hot temp, I was good to just dig in! Check out Da Valley if you want som tasty island food!

A black swan next to an industrial area at Deer Valley , one has to wonder, what the heck is a mom N pop Hawaiian restaurant doing next to an ammo store? If I didn't hear cranes, construction, and whistles blowing nearby, I'd think I was in Hawaii, near the beach, waves crashing in the background . Not fancy by any stretch, the food is authentic, cooked one meal at a time, on a stove, the size you'd find in a New York City apartment. I ordered the lemongrass shrimp. Extremely good although the shrimp was rubbery and overcooked. What I was most impressed with was the flavour. Id definitely come back again.

Service was excellent, really clean restaurant. I've always drive so fast by this place never thought a restaurant would be in this plaza. I ordered the teriyaki chicken and a crunch roll. Great portion, the roll was delicious and freshly made. Definitely will be coming back cannot wait to try other dishes. Also the mac salad is sweet, never had it that way before ny daughter loved it.

Ask the Community - Da Valley Grill

I have a food allergy to sesame oil, do you use sesame oil, and if you do are you able to make entrees without sesame oil?

Sesame oil is not typically used in HI type food. If you are concerned, call them first and let them know. They are nice people and will be happy to make it without any sesame oil.

I visited early in the afternoon - after the lunch rush - but still during the lunch hours. First, the greeting was very unfriendly. The server was distracted conversing with another server and paying little attention to our order. Absolutely zero friendliness. I felt I was an intruder! I ordered a Diet Coke. It was horrible. Obviously, the syrup was low so I had basically unflavored carbonated water. I had the lunch special for General Zso chicken. Zero taste. The egg roll was uninspiring. The egg drop soup was mediocre- at best. And, the entire restaurant was freezing. It was 110+ degrees outside. So, a cool place is welcomed. And I like the temperature cool - like, my home thermostats are set between 70 and 72 in the summer. But, the temperature in the restaurant was much, much colder. Simply, unpleasant experience. I left without eating my lunch. I had a taste of the Diet Coke, a bite of the chicken, a bite of the egg roll - and nothing else. This place made my list! (Of do not return)... and, I am on a continued search for a good Asian restaurant in the Phoenix area.

I tried the beef noodle soup which has soft tender beef, bouncy noodles, little mustard greens, bok choy and broth with a tiny kick. For appetizers has the popcorn chicken with real pieces of chicken and not just batter. I love the crispy basil pieces in it. Fish cakes was good too which is like a salty tasting mochi-like appetizer. Lu Wei was also good with marinated seaweed, boiled egg and braised tofu. Yummy! And of course I paired it with a Jasmine green milk tea with boba and also got a chocolate boba. They started to get busy to a cozy spot. Service was good. They should put some tables outside to accommodate more in dining seating. Overall delicious and would come back!

They've only been open for 5 months and having intelligently kept the menu tight so they can execute every item well. On this visit, we were welcomed with a warm hello! We decided to order the popcorn chicken with Thai basil, Gua Bao (now called Bao Buns on the or newest menu), spicy wontons, and green milk tea w/boba. While we were waiting, a group of Taiwanese customers entered the cafe and their conversation instantly warmed my heart. To hear Taiwanese mandarin like this was not something I had expected when I moved from SoCal to Phoenix 18 years ago. Onto the food: perfect popcorn chicken with DARK meat! Well seasoned, and not overly battered. The Gua Baos were the STARS of this visit. Soft and warm steamed bread encased perfectly braised thick pork belly slices. The addition of pickled veggies and sugared peanut powder told me the owners are DEFINITELY Taiwanese. Every bite was perfectly balanced with salty, sweety, umami flavors. The spicy wontons were good as well, although the skins seemed a little thicker than I am used to. The sauce was garlicky deliciousness. Their green milk tea was flavorful and perfect at 50% sweet, with light ice. The boba was on the larger side and probably had been sitting for a while, as they weren't as chewy they should be. Next time, will try their custard pudding add-on! I'm so happy to have stumbled upon a gathering place for Taiwanese nationals in Phoenix! So grateful for Owl Owl's presence and I hope they continue to expand their menu and keep their standards high. Looking forward to our next visit, where we'll try their heartier fare, like the bowls and beef noodle soup!
