Following my last review, the owner reached out and acknowledged the mistake at their end. I was also assured of getting my remaining 4 sessions as per my membership. I would like to visit in the coming months and see if the problem has really been resolved. Plan to give this place another chance... Especially around trusting again. First and last time coming here. I came in to get my brows done. When she was finished, I saw they were completely uneven. She said she couldn't fix it and I didn't want her to even attempt with risk of ruining them more. To top it all off, I'm breaking out in the area above my eyebrows! If you have thick eyebrows DO NOT GO HERE. My eyebrows now look like I drew them on with a pencil. The only reason I gave them 2 stars is that the shape is nice. But she ruined my eyebrows. They're gone. I asked for a cleanup and she completely took off layers and layers of hair. Pissed is an understatement. read more

I only get my eyebrows done here! the owner always does such a great job and totally understands what shape is the most flattering for my face. Pretty well priced, esp if you get membership which makes sense to do if you come as often as I do (once every 3ish weeks.) I love this Shanti threading salon! The main chick in this salon is far better than any of the other Shanti salons or other threaders. THE WORST EXPERIENCE, save yourself the nightmare. Theres always only one lady working there at a time. She did not listen to me for my eyebrows and took off half of my brow and said that it was a "misunderstanding." (like I wanted half my brown off) This is while she was trying to finish a brow tint in between my threading service. She then proceeded to try to charge me saying "they don't have a policy for refunds." I've spent the past year growing my eyebrows out and now one is thick & the other is pencil thin. read more

I've been going here for well over two years now. I've moved out of the neighborhood and tried going elsewhere but there truly is noone like the main woman who works here- I believe her name is Pramati. I've had pretty great experiences with the other women here as well, too. I've referred a ton of my friends an all of them have become regulars as well. Just had my eyebrows done here and am in love. The woman who did them was quick, but thorough, and didn't hurt me at all. My brows are blonde and many times threading artists miss some of the little blonde strays, which drives me absolutely crazy. Not at this salon, though. Every tiny stray have been eradicated. Both the girls working here are very down to earth, they always listen carefully to what my request is and give me best service. I came to this salon because of a Groupon deal I saw in August. I figured that since my brows resembled the underbrush off some Cascade mountain trail; why not give it a try? Pratima made them beautiful! She is personable, patient, and truly an artist. I was so impressed that I bought the 3 Month Unlimited Package. Pratima, as all other reviews will tell you, is wonderful. She knows and listens to what you want. Susanna (the lighter Asian girl) is absolutely the opposite from pratima. She'll sit you down and basically shh you so she can move on to the next client. She made every mistake Pratima had warned me about the 1st time I went to this salon. I have been going to this location ever since I moved to Ballard. The ladies here are very sweet and do a great job taming my brows and I usually walk out pleased with their work. The aloe vera and rose water at the end are an excellent touch and helps soothe my skin right afterwards. Since it's mostly walk ins, you may have a wait, but I usually go on the weekdays when it's less busy. I also have a membership, which is convenient because of how often I go there. Since I use Retin A, I need my brows threaded (waxing will rip off the skin). This place is not only within walking distance of my home, but is extremely reasonable. I bought the combo brow/upper lip package and go each month. I recently found out they do tinting as well, and Pratima did an expert job (she's also my fave for threading - fast/painless as it can be). I've had bad threading experiences in the past so I was hesitant when a friend recommended this place to me but I gave it a try and have bought several packages since. They are efficient on their time, especially when it gets busy, but make sure to deliver a quality service.
