Supported this business for the past 10 years when they were actually inside Cumberland Mall. The ladies are sweet, but their management in CA is horrible. They sold gift cards to patrons, primarily Black women, and then closed the business without notice or services rendered. I called their corporate office and the gentleman lied and said I would be refunded. Never happened so now I'm disputing with AMEX. Sad part is they are not BBB accredited so my loss. I've been to Shapes several times at this point. I pass a great deal of threading places to get here but this one has been the most consistent. I usually take whom ever is available, I don't have a "person". Two visits ago I wasn't happy with my brows at all. It takes them a while to grow, which is why I don't come often. I got a new girl and she made them way too thin when all I asked for was them to be shaped up. I literally cried like a baby. Not a fan of drawing them in. Lol. The person in charge was super caring and took care of me. Needless to say, it hasn't effected me coming back. In fact, my last visit I purchased a gift card that gave me a great discount. Now I see that they have a special: $17.99 monthly for unlimited visits. Two locations inside of Cumberland Mall. I had the absolute worst experience! I told the lady when I sat down that I hated thin brows. She not only made my left eyebrow too thin but she also took the tips off the end and overall the work was not clean at all. I had to ask the other lady in the shop to try to fix it and she agreed they were uneven and that the lady took too much off. I asked for a refund but they refused. The work was overall sloppy!!!!! Located inside of Cumberland mall, this place is convenient when you're doing some shopping. It's clean and the receptionist is nice. I gave it two stars because there wasn't any prep done prior to the threading or after. I've been to many different places before where they use alcohol, aloe, ....something. As a result, my lashes look like what you see in the picture and this was taking only 2 days after. $15 dollars, red itchy bumps, and an important event to go to, I'm one unhappy customer. Have been going here for the past couple of years. My favorite is Naz so I go when she is there. I do have a membership and the only issue I had is they increased it without notifying me. When I called, it was corrected immediately. I recommend going when they are not busy, you will be there a while. They also have a stand alone location near the mall which still unsure of the rationale for that. If you go, go when Naz is there. She's the best. read more

The quality of this place and the technicians has definitely gone down over the years. My eyebrow tech came to thread my eyebrows after being summons from the back of the salon from another person working there. When she came, her breath reeked of whatever she was eating (smelled like Fritos) another time I went a different tech had bad under arm odor. This is all AWFUL because of how close they have to be to you when they're threading. Work on teaching the employees proper hygiene and how to pop a mint or gum before approaching customers ‍ read more

Welp, I guess I'm one of the odd ones out yet again! Oh well! My service that I received Saturday, 7/30/16, from Sonu was wonderful! I happened upon this shop as I was shopping in the mall(hadn't been in this mall in years) and was a bit apprehensive at first b/c I'm really skeptical about "new" people doing my eyebrows. There seemed like a long wait, but when I approached the counter the lady(who happened to be the one to thread my brows) told me to go ahead and sit in her chair...wow!! Okay! I told her that I just wanted a clean-up, seeing as I don't like thin eyebrows, and she did an impeccable job! For me, threading hurts like crap(yet I continue to get them threaded..go figure), but Sonu made it less painful than what I've been used to in the past! She also put some highlighter underneath to make them "pop"! Now, that was surprising b/c the threading shop that I normally go to, does not provide that service at all!! Next time I'm in the area, I will mos. def. go back and make sure I ask for Sonu. The only negative thing is the language barrier, so it's hard to understand what she's saying. This place really deserves 1 star bc some of the staff are not good at their job and if not careful they can caused damage. However, they get 5 stars bc of Alicia. She is super sweet and is very good at what she do. When I go she is the only one I will allow to do my eyebrows. Can't forget they have a membership for $12 a month for unlimited visits. Therefore, I go once a week. The membership pays for itself in 2 visits being that one visit will run you $10. read more

A little update: I don't know if the owner of this brow salon saw my last review about how yelling " Who's next?" to customers who are asked to sign in defeated the purpose of why there was a sign-in sheet to begin with, but when I went in this past weekend, I noticed the cashier now calls you by name! Plus, they are starting to become more diverse as far as staffing. Speaking of the cashier, I did not catch her name, but she was very nice and professional. During a previous visit, there was another cashier, whom I presumed was pretty new, who openly argued with other employees standing behind her how they were hounding her and irritating her for merely trying to help her with the register functions. I, along with all the other customers standing there that time, were flabbergasted. She was highly disrespectful and rude. Glad she's no longer there. read more

I came here to get my eyebrows threaded and bottom line is, she ruined my face. She hurt me, not the normal pain, but she literally took chunks out of my skin. I could feel it I knew it wasn't right. When I asked her if that's normal she said yes and when I looked in the mirror and saw three different spots on one eyelid bleeding, I asked again if that was normal and she said, yes. I liked the shape of my brows but there's no way to enjoy that because it's been about two days and now I have three scabs underneath my brow and I look ridiculous. Please don't go here. I went there on 4/2. I sat at their Kiosk station on the first floor located a little after VS's store. There was two people in front of me and I patiently waited. In the process while one of the ladies was getting her brows done she stopped and left. I wondered why! I proceeded to wait and got my eyebrows done ( unfortunately I didn't get the name of the lady nor did she offer to provide me a receipt) . It was hurting really bad while she was doing my eyebrows and fast forward to today 4/3 my eyebrows are bruised. Would not recommend. read more

Horror story of a visit. One thing I can't stand is someone trying to scam ppl for the sake of a few extra dollars because ultimately it costs them a lot more. I had a great first visit to this place so I bought the membership. On my second visit though, the tech SCAMMED me. She performed unsolicited services after finding out I was a member and charged me at the register a la carte. After performing the brow service I asked for she proceeds to do half of my upper lip, my neck and chin. I didn't ask for nor need the services as I had them done prior to this visit. I only commissioned her for my brows. After the she performs the services I go to the register to give my membership credentials and she gives some gift card pitch saying I can apply it to my total. What total???? I pay 22 dollars for half-performed services because I am not one for making a scene. I own a salon and I know this sort of upcharging is common in shady places who don't care about customer retention. The sad part is it costs them in the end. I will not be returning to the establishment. And I would recommend you steer clear as well. read more

Horrible. I was in town for a wedding and a friend recommended this place. The worse including customer service. The place was empty when I got there and one lady was standing at the computer. I waited 5-10 min because she said they were having issues with the system and she was the only one there. When she finally finishes, I told her I did not like my brows. They were very round, not arched. She had the audacity to tell me my brows are round when I'd shown her a pic prior of my brows and they were def not round. They were also not even. She "fixed" the left brow and just made it worse in taking off my tip. I'd never return here. She totally changed the shape of my brows. I have a stencil kit from my brow person in Orlando and I'm a #5. She brought me down to a #4, thinner and rounder. I'll have to let them grow out. read more

I've had some great experiences here but not today. This lady spent all of 3 minutes on my eyebrows. She didn't bother giving me a mirror to check out her work. I paid and walked into another store. I happened to check out my eyebrows in a mirror and low and behold there was still hair where there shouldn't be. I started to go home and just pluck them myself but I was like hell no!! I paid her for this service. So I go back and say hey you missed some hair. She instructs me to sit down in her chair and 30 seconds later she finished with the "redo". Again she doesn't offer me a mirror to look at her work. In the eyebrow business, they say your eyebrows are supposed to look like twins. Well mine don't even look distant cousins. I wish I read the reviews before coming here and wasting my money. I've been to numerous threading salons in Atlanta and this place is the absolute WORST! Their goal is to get you to buy a membership package and the lady that did my brows was very pushy about it. At the end of the service, she walked over to the cash register to check me out, without handing me a small mirror to check out her work or wiping the hair off my face. I walked over to a large mirror on the wall and saw that I still had hair that was not touched, which wasn't surprising since she zoomed through the service. The staff was rude and they care more about getting you to buy a service package than doing their job. Poor quality work and horrible customer service! Will never go here again. Went last week to get my eyebrows and lips done but she was too fast and it was very painful. I got 2 cuts near both side of my lips which left a mark before they healed. I even tipped her but went home and the were more small cuts with blood. I have gotten threading done in a lot of places and it should never hurt that much if done correctly.
