She assured me she would be gentle and She was!!!Gold Stars...HEART eyes for Jessica!! The room was clean. She explained the procedure. She took her time . It went smoothly. The wax was not too hot. I had a gift card that I have never used. I made an appointment and handed them the card. After my facial, they were having trouble finding the card in their system. The gift card was bought a few years back and has been in a drawer in my house. I had no reason to use it as I had a regular esthetician at another spa that I went to on a regular basis. They got on the phone with the manager. Found where the card was bought and then refused to accept it as payment. There is no expiration date on the card and no wording about expiration. This is probably my favorite Sweet Samba out of all. The parking here is plentiful, the staff here are awesome, and I always have a great experience. It's super easy to make an appointment and I appreciate that someone calls to remind me of an appointment prior to my date of service. The prices are reasonable and I never feel pressured to add on other services while there. Beauty can be painful but Sweet Samba makes it worth while. read more

I had a waxing reservation today at 10 am. The waxer was newish, been there 6 months from upstate New York. She was extremely rough, and rushed through the service. Every time i asked her to wait one moment for me to catch my breath, she said" I have back to back clients so i can't wait." I felt like a piece of meat. I prepaid before the service and already added a 20% tip, which she did NOT deserve. Please talk to your employees about empathy and how to talk to clients. I probably won't be returning. read more

I have been waxing for going on 5 or 6 years now. My first ever wax was at the Sweet Samba Buckhead location. Since then, I have tried several other wax places with horrible results every time. Sweet Samba is the only wax place I trust. It's always clean, professional, done quickly and as pain free as possible. I came here for a Brazilian wax. I've been a regular elsewhere for 7+ years with the same couple of aestheticians at another spa in town, but they were booked solid & I was in a pickle for time. This one took less than 10 minutes, she left wax all over me and it was the LEAST thorough wax I've ever had. It wasn't until I got home that I realized how bad it was. I'm used to my regular aestheticians getting the whole area, including right outside my underwear line along my legs, strays on my stomach and tweezing when necessary. There was NONE of this! I still have hairs that I had to pluck & shave. This wasn't right place for me. When I got up to put my clothes back on, there was a pile of used wax, sticks & gloves sitting on the same counter with the fresh wax. It was gross! She had access to a trash can! I saw it, it was right there! I was grossed out! Who leaves trash out for their client to see? Also of note, it may be my sensitive skin, but I've been itching ever since & my skin, where waxed, is irritated. I've never had this issue with waxing at my other place. I will go back to my favorite place, even if it means waiting to get in. I thought I'd found a good back-up, but no. Unfortunately, I can't remember the aestheticians' name, but to her credit, she was very nice, just needs a LOT more experience & training. read more

Over the years I've found that some aestheticians are better than others, and for that reason it would be nice if you could schedule with a specific person and build a relationship. I have been going to Sweet Samba Vinings/Smyrna for over 5 years and on average once a month. I like to support local business owners. I have, however, become increasingly unhappy with the management. They have no concept of customer service and do not appear to have a culture of listening to feedback shared by the client with their staff. Unfortunately, today I had to make a decision to no longer support this business and I did not stay for my service. It isn't one thing, it is multiple things. 1) You can no longer make an appointment when you call the salon. They answer the phone and tell you they can't help you, you need to go online and request an appointment and they will get back with you 2) They only accept cash or Venmo (the exact opposite of other service businesses) 3) They arbitrarily change their pricing. I have been getting the same price for my service at $55, today, however, I was told it was $70 and there was no way I had paid $55 in the past. When I asked them to check their computer for my record of visits and what I have paid, she looked initially and then said "our new computer system does not keep a history of your visits". My last visit was one month ago. 4) They do not allow you to request who you will have an appointment with as they rotate their staff through different locations making consistency an issue. The way this information is communicated to you is in such a way that you are made to feel that somehow they are doing you a favor by being allowed to come and have services done there. I let them know I would be posting a review as I always check reviews when looking to have a service done at a new business. They did not seem to care. I hope you find this helpful. I am taking my business to Bella Wax on Cumberland, which has outstanding reviews. My service with Diane was excellent and I highly recommend both Bella Wax and Diane. read more

I frequented sweet samba for years before moving away. Since returning home due to COVID I have been extremely disappointed with the service and management. The women working are slow and do not know how to remove hair quickly and efficiently - at least for women like me with thick coarse hair. When I brought up how ridiculous the timing and results were on my last visit they had nothing to say and I asked that they have the manager call me...have yet to hear back. I've been coming here for awhile - both for Brazilian waxing, as well as eyelash extensions. And Jessica rocks at both services. I'm now traveling for work on an extended basis, so I struggle to be in town often enough for the extensions, so I've had to stop doing the eyelash extensions, but I'm still coming in for my waxing about every 6-8 weeks (I've been waxing for close to 20 years, so I can go a little longer between waxes). They use hard wax, which doesn't stick so hard to the skin, making for a easier, less painful wax experience. One of the things they do differently here is that the wax is brought to your room in a cup - so you know there hasn't been any double-dipping into the pot of wax. Marybeth was is an aestheticism, incorrectly placed eyelashes using the wrong size and too much glue on December 05, 2018. On December 21, 2018, during a visit for a lash refill, it took another aesthetician over four to remove glue and correctly place my eyelashes, where it normally takes one hour for a refill. The manager refused to speak with me or address the poor service. And didn't offer any concession after she spoke to the owner. read more

Unfortunately my experiences with Sweet Samba have gone down hill since I first started coming in almost 2 years ago. First off: I get Brazilians and eye brow threading at least once a month, I come here for a majority of them, I travel for work and sometimes have to go to places in Dallas or Chicago, but 90% of my waxes have been at this location, so at least 17 waxes have been done here. That being said, someone should know my freaking name when I walk through the door!!!! Every time I come in, I'm asked, "Is this your first wax? Is this your first time here? What is your name and number?" I never see the same people, and it's as if they don't have a system to track their loyal clients, and there is ZERO loyalty program. For something as intimate as a Brazilian wax, I'm sick of being treated like I've never been there every month. Second: I had 2 really bad waxes in a row, one was so bad that I had severe burns and had to go to the doctor, the other was just really painful and left me with several bumps. I called the manager about both and each time she apologized and let me know she would schedule some re training for the staff members, but I was offered NOTHING in return for either poor experience. As loyal as I have been, I think at least a free wax, a gift card, or at least a REFUND would have been appropriate, just for customer service purposes. Third: A lot of their services that are listed on their website are not offered on a daily basis. The past few times I have called, I wanted to schedule eye brow threading- I was told that no one was available on a day that was good for me, usually weekends, which I would assume you would want to be fully staffed, and even a few times I have wanted to schedule a facial as well, but again, someone was not available to perform the service, and this is me calling weeks in advance to book appointments. Fourth: I called this past weekend to book an appointment and no one answered the phone. I was going to Publix and saw that a new Brazilian studio opened called Wax Me, and they had a special for new clients: $25 for your first Brazilian. I went in and I was treated like a regular my first day, they were able to fit me in immediately and did my eye brows as well. Their usual prices are the same as Sweet Samba, but at Wax me, it was much more personable environment. So sadly, I will no longer be a customer of Sweet Samba. read more

To be fair, this review is not for their Waxing service, only for my experience. I called in today and they were good enough to get me appointment at 5:20 pm for a Brazilian. I reached the place at the exact time, and was waiting. It was 5:45 and still no one took me in, so i talked to the receptionist and told her i am waiting since 5:20, she said i am next in line and as soon as the aesthetician is done with the current customer she'll take me in. I hate to wait and especially if you have booked an appointment so i told her if I'll wait till 6:00 and if they are still not ready for me, i'll be leaving. At 6, i left. Very disappointed at their service and i am not going back again. What surprises me is they make you fill in forms, which clearly states that if you are even 5 mins late for an appointment, you lose your turn. Really wanted to like this place as I love to support my local businesses. The esthetician did a good job with actual waxing service. I liked that hard wax was used, however the business lacked professionalism. There was no explanation of service options provided. Upon conclusion of my bikini wax, I was charged the same price as if I received a Brazilian (which makes no sense as it is a lot less hair being removed I took a fourth of the time). The price wasn't a huge deal, but the way it was handled really bothered me. The receptionist said your Brazilian cost.... I explained that I didn't get a Brazilian I just got a bikini, she said it doesn't matter same price, okay so I thought that didn't make sense and that I was paying more than originally thought but no big deal. I paid. Then on the way out I see a huge sign that advertises the Brazilian for $10 less than I paid for my bikini wax. So I asked why I was charged a higher rate, she responded "well you didn't mention that price..." That really ticked me off. Not only had I inquired about the price when being charged, that was the only price posted anywhere. It's on the door as you come in, why should I have to mention it? I don't want to haggle over prices I just want to be charged fairly. The price honestly wasn't a big deal, just didn't like the feeling that they were just trying to make an extra buck off me. WOOHOO! I had a very good experience at Sweet Samba. The customer service was very personable. My esthetician, Katie was so nice. She was attentive to my requests, kept a consistent conversation going and stayed true to her skill. First timers discount of $25 versus $35 general pricing. What a steal(according to what I'm used to)! I absolutely prefer hard wax as opposed to wax + strips. I also loved the no double dip policy- which is important and should be a standard in all spas. If you are looking for a good Brazilian DO NOT COME HERE! I've been getting sugar Brazilians for over 2 years now. I always go to Sweet Peach but I couldn't get an appointment at the last minute so I decided to give this place a try. Worst decision I've ever made! Like I said I'm a regular at getting sugared so I know how it goes. Usually the sugar is warm and pliable, easy on and off...OLGA used hard, cold sugar that hurt extremely bad when she pulls the hair up. As soon as the cold sugar touched my skin I said "oh you guys don't use warm sugar"? She replied "no I don't because I don't like it". I said ok, but after a few times of ripping I felt like I was going to die! I do this all the time and it NEVER hurts! I finally asked her to warm the sugar because it was too painful. She sighed really loud and rushed out the room slamming the door behind her. She came back with the same cold sugar!!!! It took her more than 30 minutes to do my Brazilian....I'm in and out at Sweet Peach in 15min! She didn't even do a good job after all That time! After she finally finished I was burning down there from irritation of the cold sugar being pulled off my skin! When she left and I got up I noticed I was bleeding in 2 spots! NEVER HAS THAT HAPPENED! I suggest you do not come here! Go to Sweet Peach in Buckhead or the Highlands! read more

I have been coming here for years but after today I'm going to go elsewhere. I was 5 minutes late due to traffic and called ahead to let them know I wasn't far. They took someone else in place of my appointment and I waited over 30 minutes to get seen. I feel like there is no point in making an appointment if it doesn't even matter. They claim to have been behind schedule all day due to a late patron but there needs to be better logistics in place to make business flow better. She was so kind, quick and thorough. We talked the whole time. She made me feel comfortable, as though we'd been friends long before. I highly recommend her!! I went in for my first ever Brazilian wax today at Sweet Samba Vinings and Jordan my aesthetician made me feel extremely comfortable. I ended up getting a full body wax which can be pretty time-consuming, but speaking with Jordan throughout the experience made time go by quickly. She was extremely nice and well mannered and made me feel comfortable while talking to me through the pain. I highly recommend this wax center and Jordan the aesthetician in particular. Credit card fraud alert! I had a fantastic time at Sweet Samaba, paid for my visit, then left. A few hours later, I get a call from them saying that they had undercharged me for my services, so they were going to authorize charging me the difference in price, despite my receipt that had my signature on it. This is illegal and unprofessional. Despite having a relaxing time at Sweet Samba, I was frustrated having to deal with reporting this to my credit card company, and having to call Sweet Samba several times to get a manager to call me to correct this issue.
