You can also find traditional steak and chicken dishes if that's more your thing. I like YaYa's because the atmosphere and food alike feel elevated yet still approachable. Service here is full-service and polished - bordering on fine-dining. Servers wear button down shirts and a tie. Although there's no strict dress-code enforced, most people dining here will be a bit dressed up depending on the occasion they're celebrating. You'll be just fine in nice jeans here too. We frequent for date night and don't veer far from the Chicken Gnocchi appetizer, Spinach Salad, Chicken Penne, Shrimp Risotto, and Filet. Their Scallops dish is good here too that comes with Saffron Orzo. They will bring out delicious bread and Baba Ghanoush at the beginning of your meal. I could make a meal just out of the Baba Ghanoush it is addicting! The Chicken Gnocchi is an appetizer but could easily be an entrée. The chocolate soufflé dessert takes about 30 minutes so be sure to tell your server ahead of time if you have something sweet in mind. The Buttercake dessert is good as well but super rich. We went for dinner last night and could tell something was off with both the Front-of-House and Kitchen. Lights on higher than normal, staff members appeared a bit frantic including the host, and the food did not visually look how it normally comes out nor did it taste exactly right. I don't want to rate 4 stars instead based on yesterday's experience since overall we've had a 5 star experience the past years coming here but this night specifically felt subpar. It's been a while since I've been here, and my friends and I decided to celebrate all of our August birthdays here. I was surprised how busy they were on a Tuesday evening. They have a good sized parking lot and it was easy to find a close spot. First, a big thank you to the manager for setting us up in the private dining room. That really made our dinner so incredibly special. I would really like to bring a group here to enjoy that space. Our server was Alex and she kept our wine glasses full and the plates of food coming. Our meal was paced well. She took very good care of us. Our friend ordered the mezze plate which included pita points, crackers, whole rainbow carrots, and celery with three dips that included whipped feta, hummus, and a red pepper hummus. They also brought out their delicious fresh bread with baba ghanoush. The bread is so perfect that it doesn't even need any type of spread. I ordered the side spinach salad, which was a refreshing way to start my meal. I decided on the five cheese pizza with olive oil and it was very good and very rich. I was only able to eat two slices. My dining companions ordered pizza and pasta dishes. Everyone was very happy with their meal. I concluded my meal with a phyllo wrapped brownie that came with chocolate sauce, fresh raspberries, and cream. It basically looks like a brownie burrito. It's quite decadent and I enjoyed it. OK, well it's been a while since I posted but not because I don't go to places often but sometimes it's hard to keep up with all of them, but I thought this was worth a post Sometimes you don't get good happy hour wine. I thought the wine was really good. I really like the server. He was friendly and he was chatting with me. I just came in to have a glass of wine and work a little while before my next work. So there's this fruit fly flying around which tells me something about the place. I don't like that fruit flies are not good. They probably need to do something about that so keep that in mind. If you don't mind fruit flies flying around your drink it's probably a good place. I didn't try any food so I can't judge that he said some of the things you're good but I didn't have time to eat so this time I love the service I like the wine, but I did not like the fruit flies. Also, there was two servers that took over for the guy that was waiting on me. They never once looked at me or talk to me. I think that's just really weird. Brunch on Sunday! Sunday only, it is a buffet and at $35 per person, pretty reasonable. They offer $4 Bloody Mary or Mimosa's. I ordered a Bloody Mary and it was full size and very good, seasoned rim with lime and 2 olive garnish. They have Baba Ganoush on the buffet!!! It was set up with Hummus and fried pita bread for dipping. Just as good with the Pita Bread! The buffet was set up well, so there was room for people to go in the middle section as well as the other side. The other side had the Hummus and Baba Ganoush, bagels with 2 types of cream cheese as well as lox and capers, three different kinds of salad, shrimp with cocktail sauce, smoked trout, smoked salmon, lemon ricotta pancakes, chocolate banana waffles, biscuits and gravy. The middle section consisted of scrambled eggs, crispy potatoes, bacon, sausage, eggs benedict, two types of pasta, Cajun Chicken, mashed potatoes, roasted green beans, fresh fruit, a build your own yogurt bar with lots of toppings, and cranberry muffins. A pizza station with 3 or 4 types, and prime rib with horseradish sauce. Most things were delicious! Our server was Paige and she did a great job of keeping drinks filled and clearing plates and she was super friendly. Very popular and interesting restaurant with a few locations in the Midwest. Food is American version of Mediterranean, which is a great combination. Management puts a lot of attention into quality of food, service, and the dining experience. One detail is the bread service and no corners are cut with delicious fresh baked bread and some type of spread that is delicious but I have no idea what it was. One reason the restaurant is so popular is the bar area where they cook the pizzas and prepare the drinks is very inviting and blends into the dining room which spills into the outdoor patio. It is a very nice layout that creates an environment of hospitality. This is the second time I've eaten in as many locations and the service has been professional and good. Management takes time to make sure the staff is well trained. Although this is a chain, management takes great care to provide a good experience for the guests and everything seems homemade. read more

Lived in Missouri all my life and I finally tried Yayas. I wasn't all too sure what to expect but I sure was blown away. First, the ambience makes you feel you traveled to Europe, sitting outside on a patio listening to the kind of music that allows you to feel relaxed and take your time. Second, the service was explemary Friendly and attentive servers who come by often and whom are informative. Next, the food. I came for lunch so the menu is limited with more bistro offerings such as café style sandwiches, salads and flatbread pizzas. I got lost in the small plates because honestly I was in the mood for beef carparrchio and it did not disappoint! The finely thinned slice beef melted in your mouth, the burst tomatoes and goat cheese cream elevated the experience, even the lightly dresses argula offered a lemony citrus to cut through the richness. The only thing I would say is I could've used more crostinis. Next, I chose the gnocchi. And they are silky pillows of heavenly goodness resting ina gorgonzola cream sauce with spinach, crumbles of gorgonzola and almonds layered it with palatable goodness. I could've drank the sauce from the bowl. Lastly, finished off with the Phyllis brownie. They make this fresh to order so expect about 15 minutes. When brought out, the brownie is warm and gooey, bathed in a lightly sweetened creme anglaise with vanilla bean ice cream. The brownie oozed delightfully from the phyllo dough and you need every bit of the anglaise to sop it up as its rich and chocolately. This was a superb lunch. Where do I start... The food was honestly terrible maybe it was an off day who knows, but for the prices there should be no off day! My biggest issue was management NOT SERVICE they were great... However when I very politely brought a clear and real issue to management on my way out I was met with a rude annoyance by a female manager Ann, that was insulting. I've been to YaYa's Euro Bistro many times, it never ever disappoints. The atmosphere is one of my favorite parts, especially the patio, which is perfect on a nice evening and gives the whole experience a relaxed but elevated feel. Pro tip: order the chocolate soufflé as soon as you sit down since it takes time to prepare and trust me, it's absolutely worth it. It's rich, and easily one of the best desserts I've had. For entrées, the shrimp risotto is delicious - it's creamy, flavorful, and just perfect. We typically avoid dining out on Valentine's Day because kitchens tend to get overwhelmed and the staff stretched thin, but YaYa's in Chesterfield completely flipped that script. We had such a positive experience that we recently returned for a second visit with my in-laws who live nearby, and the consistency across both meals really stood out. The Atmosphere & Elite Service During our first visit (the Valentine's Day rush), we requested a booth in the back of the restaurant. This is a great move--it keeps the ambient noise at a very reasonable level, making it perfect for a conversational double date. Our server was exceptionally competent, fun, and took the time to build a genuine rapport with us. Our second visit was on a Sunday evening. The dining room was buzzing with several large parties, and despite most tables being full, the staff handled the crowd flawlessly. Cocktails & Wine * Manhattan: A very well-executed, classic take. They used a non-rye whiskey (if I had to guess, maybe Four Roses), which made for a fantastic, smooth start to the evening. * Cabernet (Bottle): We split a bottle of red with dinner. The wine pricing here is very reasonable, offering great value if you're ordering by the bottle rather than the glass. The GOAT Starter & Salads * Bread & Baba Ghanoush (5/5): This is the undisputed GOAT. It is so incredibly tasty that we definitely ate way more bread than we should have on both visits before the entrees even arrived. Oops. * Bill's Chicken Salad (4.5/5): My wife ordered this on our first visit and absolutely loved it. The chicken has a fantastic coconut coating, and the portion is plentiful enough to serve as a hearty, satisfying entrée. * Spinach Salad (3.5/5): Simple and tasty with a mild blue cheese. The dressing was a bit light, though, and some of the leaves weren't fully coated. The Main Event * Trout Almondine (4.25/5): A beautifully executed classic. It's a fantastic lower-carb option--though we admittedly sabotaged any carb-cutting by eating so much of that complimentary bread! Highly recommend this dish. * Filet Mignon (4/5): Cooked to a perfect medium-rare as requested, served with a mild blue cheese and a flavorful sauce. Pro Tip: I opted to swap the standard potato purée for their crispy potatoes, which was an excellent move. The downside here was the plating, which lacked symmetry and felt sloppy. The sauce was only on half the steak, the cheese was unevenly distributed, and the potatoes were simply piled on top of the meat and veggies. The steak juices were also spread across the entire dish, suggesting it was rested right on the plate before serving. Lastly, the haricots verts portion was surprisingly small (maybe 5 pieces total). * Cheese Ravioli with Blackened Shrimp (4.25/5): The ravioli itself is straightforward, but the sauce is the star--packed with fresh tomatoes and a ton of fresh sautéed garlic. The shrimp was cooked perfectly, though the protein portion felt a little small. Dessert * Tiramisu (3.75/5): A nicely executed, traditional take on the classic. I especially enjoyed that it was served with a delicious scoop of espresso ice cream! Elite Tip: If you want a quieter evening where you can actually hear your tablemates, definitely request a booth in the back section. YaYa's is our favorite place to eat in St. Louis! The food is delicious and the portions are large. Some dishes are very heavy though. The service is very fast and the servers are very friendly. Came here to celebrate a work colleague's birthday and couldn't have been more pleased. We arrived at 11:30, which unbeknownst to me was peak lunch time or is it always busy like that? Regardless, it was way more crowded than I imagined but thankfully, the rest of our party was seated as they made a reservation. Now, I've been here two other times and I don't resell ever being served this. I'm unsure if this is something new, and if it is, PLEASE keep it up! This was my first time having it and now I'm hooked! The flavors of garlic, eggplant and everything else was bursting through each bite and I couldn't get enough. The bread was fresh and warm, which is always a plus. After a short while, our entrees arrived. I got the full shrimp risotto (the server said the portion size was comparable to the half). I've had the dish before, so I was looking forward to it being creamy, cheesy, and full of flavor. Instead, I tasted corn, and more corn and missed out on what I thought would be full of cheesiness. We ordered the "Valentine Special" which is a filet with two shrimp and potato croquet. The croquet was still ice cold in the middle and the shrimp was so overcooked it was inedible. The filet was cooked and seasoned extremely well. That can absolutely happen so we let our server know and he even felt the the croquet and said oh yeah and that was it. He seemed utterly oblivious. I was missing the days of a fresh brunch buffet. Luckily, my friend told me about YaYa's brunch! For under 50 dollars you get a coffee and access to a full breakfast, lunch and dessert offerings. Carving and omelet stations, as well as their signature hummus station. Fresh fruits and a variety of options makes it like a treasure trove of food. Items were fresh and restocked regularly. The service was just okay, though I expected it to be great. As for the food, it was disappointing. The shrimp risotto I had was bland and not even warm, though the shrimp themselves were slightly warm with a bit of flavor. I ended up eating only the shrimp. My child had a pizza, which was very good, especially the pepperoni. My partner's lasagna was neither good nor hot. The hummus was the one savory highlight--very delicious. However, the appetizer we ordered was not impressive. The best part of the meal was the dessert. The tiramisu was absolutely delicious, and the crème brulee was perfect. Hadn't been to YaYa's in quite some time. Initial impressions were not good as I had a very cracked drinking glass that everyone around the table noticed simultaneously to me seeing it too. It took awhile to be replaced because drink orders were more important. Then I asked again before any action was accomplished. The shrimp and risotto were average, the corn added to the meal. Salmon salad was good but the salmon was a little dry from overcooking. Neither issue were enough to send it back . Waiter was good but definitely distracted between bar and us because Old Fashioned was replaced with Manhattan and my distinguished friends know the difference and sent the Manhattan's back. We had reservations and when we arrived the place was packed (they have a great happy hour), but we got a great corner booth in the back that provided an excellent setting for a date-night dinner. We shared a very reasonably priced $30 bottle of Chardonnay and enjoyed a Humus appetizer and their complementary Babaganous and bread service. I very much enjoyed the Lamb and Fritte dish. The lamb was fabulous and cooked to my liking as medium. I tried my wife's Shrimp and Risotto dish and found the risotto to be creamy and delicious. A decent sized bar and outdoor patio also provides customers with alternative seating other than dining on the main floor. The interior decor is a bit outdated, but we're here for the food and not the decor. Service can be a hit or a miss. We've experienced both attentive servers as well as servers who would have preferred that we didn't show up for that meal. Usually, our experience is a positive one and as long as the food is good, it'll have us returning. Portion sizes are large, so unless you're super hungry, prepare to take home leftovers. Location: YaYa's is an upscale Mediterranean restaurant with a business casual atmosphere. The restaurant was busy but the noise volume wasn't so loud our table couldn't chat. Service: Service was attentive and friendly throughout the night. Food: This one is tough, a 3/5 for me because I feel I made a poor entree choice. The crab cake and hummus starters we ordered were fantastic, and my Caesar salad was good. My entree on the other hand, the tuna special, left a lot to be desired. The fish itself was not at all what I was expecting and was cooked thoroughly, so it was tough and dry. The rice medley and potatoes were good, but the potatoes were out of place mixed into the rice. I was disappointed in the dish, but since the other food items were great, it could've just been a bad choice on my part or an off night.
