I brought my niece and nephew to this hair salon for their haircuts, hoping for a positive experience. I had heard that they had a great way of handling squirmy kids, and the hairdressers were known for their patience. Additionally, the salon was clean, provided entertainment, had an ice cream stand, and offered toys to keep the kids occupied. However, my visit turned out to be far from satisfactory. We had made an appointment over the phone for 5 pm, just before their closing time at 6 pm. Upon arrival, we checked in with the young man sitting at the front desk. He informed us that the previous customer was wrapping up and it would only take a few minutes. Unfortunately, what he failed to communicate was that after the child finished her blow-dry, her mother requested a haircut and another blow-dry for herself. As a result, we ended up waiting until 5:45 pm, which meant my 4-year-old niece had to endure a 45-minute wait for her scheduled appointment. It was truly disappointing. So, what's the point of actually making an appointment if you are not going to honor it, or even be remotely apologetic for making us wait? It completely negates the purpose of scheduling in advance. We made a special effort, driving for 30 minutes to get a haircut at this place, only to be met with disappointment and frustration. It felt like a complete waste of time and effort. What frustrated me even more was when I asked the young man at the front desk how long it would take, and he responded dramatically, saying, "Well, I don't know how long it will take. It will take however long it takes her to finish." I was appalled by his lack of professionalism. Adding to the frustration, the hairdresser, who didn't have a strong grasp of English, didn't understand my specific instructions and showed little attention to detail. Despite my efforts to clearly explain and demonstrate how short the haircut should be, she failed to follow my instructions. Moreover, when I requested her to curl and style the hair, she seemed clueless, requiring me to show her how I wanted it done. Throughout the appointment, she rushed through the haircut, never bothering to ask what needed to be done at the beginning. At one point, she even stepped aside to use her phone and send a voice message, completely disregarding the fact that she was in the middle of cutting a 4-year-old's hair. This lack of professionalism and disregard for customer satisfaction was utterly disappointing. Overall, this was an extremely frustrating and disappointing experience, and I have no intention of returning with my niece to this establishment in the future. However, I must add the older gentleman who did my nephews haircut was good. read more

If I could give it negative stars I would. To say this cut is bad is an understatement. First, it looks nothing like I asked. Second, everything I said needed translation and obviously he didn't translate it well or care to tell her she was doing a bad job. Next, after we dealt with the bad cut and experience we get home and his hair is completely dry we can see just how bad the cut is. It is uneven and choppy EVERYWHERE. In some places the hair is a half inch to an inch longer than others. This was my son's first haircut experience and it may be the last one ever. If you're looking for a shaved head then sure feel free to go here and think you're getting a good cut, but if you're looking for someone who might have some idea of what they're doing, look somewhere else. No don't just look, run anywhere else. I called back to talk to the manager and they told me to bring him back to let them fix it. Seeing the job she did now and how it looks like his hair was cut with a weed wacker, there is no way they will be trusted to fix this. HORRIBLE experience. In the end it was a decent haircut but the stylist was completely inept at doing the things one would expect for a first haircut like explaining the process, making mom and baby feel comfortable and adapting to the needs of a very young child. I am sorry for the stylist's obvious communication difficulties but this is not the job for her. read more

Place is cute for kids and staff is very friendly. The stylists however are not great. They basically cut hair straight across with scissors. They cut my daughter's bangs straight across and too short. It doesn't seem like they know how to cut hair professionally. I could have did it at home. read more

I took my son and my daughter for a hair cut. My son (2 years old) had a great experience. My daughter, however walked out with a nightmare of a haircut. It was so botched and uneven. I'm so sad and frustrated that they didn't listen to the length I originally wanted. It was a very frustrating experience that I will not forget. They have a great way of handling the squirmy nature of kids. It makes getting their haircut fun. My kids both walked away happy.

We didn't get off to a good start as It was hard to find the parking and I had to call but the experience was excellent from that point on!!! We wanted to get the first haircut services, it included a free picture and a certificate. It's a very cute atmosphere, very colorful and distracting for the kiddos. We have been to another Sharkey's before but this one is much better! Will be back next month for sure! read more

Sharkey's in Ashburn is my very favorite kids hair salon. I was so happy when they opened Sharkey's in this location. My son has had his hair cut by Thamir multiple times and he has done a fabulous job each time. I highly recommend this kids salon. It is also the cleanest kids salon I have ever been in. I can't say enough good things about it here. I know we will be supporting this location for years to come. read more
