I wish I had gotten my stylist name and also the girl who painted nails and washed hair. they were both incredible! we came in today 7/9/2026 with a 1:20 appointment the stylist was a blonde hair woman probab in her 40s and the nail tech had a tattoo on her forearm that said "long live..." that's all I have i didn't catch their names. they both deserve outstanding customer service and hospitality. they treated my kids with an amazing experience. I booked a was,cut, and blowout and left with WAY more than I expected. nail service, baloons, just an overall great experience the younger kids get the car chairs and my son can play Xbox while getting a hair cut. wow just incredible. It was a little overstimulating in there, but that's because there's so many kids in there and God bless those workers because I could not do that all day every day. They did a fantastic job on my daughter. She got a first haircut and they washed her hair let her pick out the cotton candy shampoo and they trimmed it up for me nicely. She got to sit in the chair she picked they let her pick some cute little clips to go in her hair and they styled it and blow dried it and then she also got her nails done and they gave her a little ring and a tattoo because it was her first haircut. Maureen was amazing with our toddler. Our boy is 4 and he's always hated haircuts. She made us feel comfortable knowing her experience. She mentioned her son is autistic so she knows how haircuts can be difficult. We went to other sharkey's and most of them were scared to work with our son and would give up and ask if we'd like to come back another time to try again. Absolutely not lol I need it to be one and done. We tried several positions including me holding my son and we ended up sitting on the floor to finish and she didn't mind at all. My son did not mind getting his haircut at all. The vibe of the place was very fun and kept my son entertained while we waited for our appointment. I love that I got a lock of his hair, a certificate, and even a photo of his first haircut. The only bad thing I have to say is I was bummed that the printer that prints out the first haircut photo put a bunch of lines through the photo and it's ruined and we paid $43. Finally had to leave after 15 additional minutes (20 past our original appointment time) because my son wasn't having it. Very frustrating to have a scheduled appointment and the stylist see that she has her appointment waiting and doesn't acknowledge us, speed up the finishing touches on the older child she was working on well before we arrived. The two younger stylists were helpful and understanding when I told them I had to leave. Had good experiences before but can't say we will be returning after this. read more

I have to write a review because I truly think this place should have better ratings! It looks like they had some struggles in the past, and I was honestly nervous to go because of the reviews, but we gave it a try and I'm so glad we did. Every single person working here that we interacted with (5 in total) was amazing. We happened to see this place after dinner one evening and came in to schedule an appointment. We didn't realize it was ten minutes after they were closed, but regardless, they were so kind and offered to schedule appointments for us anyway. This was my daughters first professional haircut experience and she's still talking about it a day later- she literally had the time of her life and felt SO pampered. Her cut included a wash, cut, blowout AND she got her nails painted and got to pick out a ring! I am so impressed with this place- but especially the service and the women working here. Customer service was ok. Pricing could definitely be better. $45 for a haircut and pressured a $8 minimum for a tip on a 10 min half ass haircut. They don't really do what's asked and take your money and leave you feeling disappointed. I won't be back and would advise, just take your child to a barber for cheaper or have your kid sit in a motorized car with the tv on and do it yourself for a better experience. read more

I admit I was hesitant to come here after all the bad reviews but i figured my daughter just wants a trim, how hard can that be. This place actually exceeded my expectations. All the employees are so kind and they talked to my daughter so gently. They explained what they were doing while washing her hair and they didn't rush her when she's making a choice on what nail polish color to pick. We went on a Friday and the wait wasn't so bad. They do both walk-ins and appointments. Fardosa cut my daughter's hair and I can't recommend her enough. She's amazing! Every haircut comes with a wash, manicure, blow dry, lollipop, and a balloon. It was $38 for everything and worth every penny. My daughter loved it so much she said "When my hair gets long can we come back here again?!" I wish this place was around for my daughter's first haircut, that would've been such an experience. Don't be scared of the bad reviews! Wow this place is amazing and so fun ! We bring our grandbaby for his first haircut and the experience was unique and so cute :) The ladies here are really nice and patient . As you know cutting hair to a baby is quite the hassle and they make it so smooth that no stress was involved . We went yesterday for the grand opening and had Bobbi as our stylist, I told her we like it short on the sides long on the top, (she didn't even ask what we wanted I told her) she said they do a one one the sides and a two on top. Like what? My son is blonde with thin hair. So she ask if I would like the top of his hair finger cut. Yes because of how we style his hair. He had a good length of hair before we got there. Short story she finger cut the top and did a 2 on the sides. The top was to long so she ask if I want it finger cut again I said yes so she takes the comb and buzzer and goes to town. And moved his neck line up to the bottom on his ears. My poor sons hair looks horrible. It's very patchy and uneven. The place was so crazy unorganized (grand opening) so we left and when I got home and in the light I realized how terrible it was so I called and asked if we could come back in a couple of weeks and have them fix it at their expense since one it was expensive for a 2 years old hair cut and the only way to fix it at this point is to buzz it and the receptionist took my number and told me someone would call me back soon and get me scheduled to fix it and nothing since then. Do not recommend Bobbi or maybe any kid with blonde fine hair. read more

I took my 3 year old for her birthday and first hair cut. I also got a wash and trim. It was such a cute mommy and me experience. I thought it was very tailored to her which I loved. They were quick and efficient. Also got her nails painted which was so cute. Her hair came out adorable. For children, this was such a cute place. For adults, I wouldn't recommend if you want a real wash and cut or if you're picky about your hair. I just wanted a trim but they only have kids shampoo, so just know going in, it's just more for the experience rather than quality for adults. I didn't mind but I can see how others could be disappointed. Otherwise I would totally do it again with her! Friendly staff and they made her feel so special on her day! She accommodated us though we were late, was very personable & had a genuine conversation, and was very patient with my son. She explained things to him as she went & gave him choices when she could. We were loyal Sharkey's Avondale customers until today. My daughter had an appointment for 11:10am. The woman at the front desk put my daughter in a chair and asked if she wanted her nails done. I said no thank you, we don't have time for that, we just need the haircut. The stylist next to us said in a very rude tone, "Well, it's gonna be awhile." I said, "We have an appointment." In a very confrontational tone, she said, "I understand that, but it's just me & her here today." Nobody at the front desk said anything about running behind or being short staffed. I had no idea it was "gonna be awhile" until my daughter was seated and the rude stylist said something. I was blown away that this woman spoke to me, a paying and loyal customer, the way she did. I can't imagine letting someone with such a rotten attitude take care of my child's haircut. So I guess it worked out in the end. We'll be going back to Treasured Cuts for Kids in Surprise. It's a longer drive, but I refuse to pay for another expensive haircut at a place that doesn't respect their customers. Too bad, because my son really loved going to Sharkey's. Edited to add: The woman at the front desk was very kind and tried to be as accommodating as possible. I took all 3 of my kiddos here for a haircut, and all 3 had such a wonderful experience. My girls got a ring, their nails polished, and the ladies cutting their hair were so patient and kind. We usually go to Little Chops because I thought it was the closest place to us, but after discovering this place, I decided to give it a try. I'm so glad we did. My son was happy with his experience too, as he got to sit in his choice of chair and he got to watch a movie. They all got a balloon at the end as well. There are a lot of Karens who leave bad reviews simply because they have too much time on their hands. My kids' haircuts were fine. My son's didn't turn out as well as my daughters' haircuts, but that's to be expected when he's one. One year olds move, and the stylists make due with what they have. I was happy with his haircut, despite how much he moved during the process. People need to consider that before thinking that they're going to get a perfect haircut for their moving child. read more

Although the first experience wasn't great she made sure to show me that is not how they operate. She had me bring the boys back, fixed their haircuts and gave them the whole fun experience we were looking for and the boys loved it! I was excited when I saw a new haircut place for kids was open in Goodyear. We had been going to a place in Surprise that we'd had OK experiences with, and then to the sports-themed place that's not just for kids, so I was hopeful this could become our "home" place. It absolutely will not. Making the appointment was easy (online). The salon had balloons for kids, video games for them to play while in the chair, and gave out temporary stickers and a sucker after the service; those things were all a hit. But the hair cut itself was horrible. I asked for a fade, and I got a chop. It looked like she put a bowl on his head and cut around it. After the cut, she took my son back for a wash. I wasn't used to that for small kids, but sure. When she finished, his shirt was drenched. I looked at the cut and, knowing I was clearly unhappy with it, asked her to even out the fade so that it was more blended. She refused. She said, "That's how it has to go, from here to here." I didn't push the issue because I just wanted to be done in the place, but then we went to check out: $36 + tip. I know inflation is a thing, but over $40 for a fade on a five year old?! This experience was a big no for me. We won't be back. read more

Highly recommend! This was their opening weekend, which some people don't understand. That considered, I was very impressed with everything from our sweet stylist, the overall decor and operations. I saw some children that had a really hard time getting their haircut and the stylists were so patient even with a line out the door! My children can't wait to go back and I hope the negative reviewers will take into consideration opening day growing pains and give it another try because I love this for the community!
