When we got there, we were immediately greeted and escorted to a room where my little one could pick a seat or Jeep to sit in while she gets her first haircut. The stylist was really good with kids continuously giving my little one words of encouragement. The cost of a First Haircut was pricey ($35+) but it includes the haircut, lollipop, balloon, before and after pictures, and certificate. We've been bringing my son here for 3 years now and refuse to go anywhere else as long as Miss Kim is working here. She's so sweet, so good with the kiddos, helps calm their nerves when they're new, and truly makes my son so excited to come back every visit. The store got an upgrade earlier in the year and looks so much better. The smaller kiddos get to ride in a car of their choice and watch a show while Miss Kim works her magic. Older kiddos get to sit in a regular barber chair and play video games while they get their haircut! Icing on the cake-a lollipop as a reward once the haircut is over. First time at this location, as my family just moved to Texas. They took both my kids (4&2)( Boy & Girl) at the same time. The ladies were very kind and I love the cut they did on both of them. My son had a mullet and we wanted to buzz the back and have it short on top. It was my daughter's first cut and we did a trim with bangs. We walked in yesterday without an appointment. Our previous visit was great and my daughter enjoyed the haircut. yesterday was a different story. We did not feel welcome, the lady could not be bothered to greet us when we walked in, or to adjust to my child that was visibly uncomfortable and upset. While blow drying my daughter's hair, she started crying bc she's tender headed, and the lady didnt care. Then she told the other lady that "my daughter was just sensitive" in front of us. She's so patient. I have a calm one, a screamer and a wiggler (3boys). She works with all 3 and is amazing with them. My screamer cries the entire time like he's being beaten. She is so patient. This is by far the worst place for autistic kids. I made it clear in advance that my child is autistic and that the visit might be difficult, but we got through the clippers, which is usually the hardest part. My child was calm for the scissor cut on top, but then one staff member started using a vacuum. We politely asked her to stop because the noise made him scream and cover his ears. She stopped, but then another staff member began vacuuming and gave us an attitude about it. Really? Can't you wait just two minutes for some silence to finish the cut? Nicole has cut our daughter's hair really well in the past, and we were very happy with the cut she gave our daughter this time as well (she gave our daughter some bangs and trimmed the ends of the rest of her long hair), but we were not happy with the cost. Almost $25 for a trim with no hair wash (we washed it before we came) is a bit steep for a 3 year old. We waited 30 minutes for a five minute cut and paid $25. We love Nicole, but it's going to be another long while before we'll be back. The women in this salon were over the moon nice! We had never been to a salon like this before but my daughter REALLY needed a hair cut and I got some recommendations and decided to try it out. My daughter got the best hair cut she has had in a long time, she got to play Mario kart while she got her hair cut and she got chocolate scented shampoo which she is STILL raving about! And her cut and style came with a mini manicure, a balloon, face painting and a ring! All for $25! How can anyone complain about that? We will be back and I will bring my pain in the butt son too! His stylist was Kim and she was very patient and sweet with my son. He got a little fidgety towards the end and she was able to keep patience and still work around it. His cut turned out great! Didn't look bluntly or choppy at all. Nicely blended cut with a cute style out at the end. The salon itself was a little small, as to be expected for Littles, and clean. The atmosphere was very kid friendly and I loved the cool car themed chairs. They even had dvd player with TV at each station to keep the kiddos entertained. Highly reccomend this place and Kim. On the phone at the time we scheduled the appointment, I asked if they had a stylist who was good with kiddos on the spectrum. She said they did. I took it in good faith. I made my appointments for both kids. I have twins. I showed the stylist photos and explained that I didn't want the same hairstyle for both, but got it anyway. Well, almost the same; one was crooked across the bangs. She didn't seem to understand what I meant when i told her my son was on the spectrum and just saying hold still isn't very effective, and that being still was a special challenge. i had to explain again that my son has autism and struggles with sensations like being misted, having his head turned. She kept acting like this was the trial of her life, and honestly they were being very good. no meltdowns at all and they let her use clippers. I had to point out a couple of places that more attention was needed, either because it was chunky/uneven, I felt like she wasn't paying attention to the photo I showed her, and what I was telling her. She kept calling my boys, "child", which I felt was impersonal and honestly felt condescending. They're 8 years old. She left my son sitting in a bunch of hair while she worked on his brother. She didn't do a good job of closing the apron at the back; there was hair all down the back of his shirt and all down the back, as the apron wasn't placed wasn't placed across the back of the chair. When I asked her to clean off his chair so he could sit while waiting on brother, she used the same broom they use on the floor to clear the hair out. I honestly could have had the same experience, probably better, at a supercuts( minus the big TV with cartoons). This is not the first bad experience we've had here but after trying to cut it myself during the initial lockdown, I hoped for the best. One downside to this chain is the high turnover rate of employees. We have rarely had the same stylist twice. I definitely wouldn't recommend the baby's 1st haircut; I recall they charged me crazy amounts of money with no photo, and presented me with wet hair stapled into a plastic baggie and a blank certificate. These people do not care one whit. I would post a photo but don't have anything to remove my son's face. read more

Update: While it's a fun place for kids, the haircuts are really mediocre, the floor is always dirty, and the past few times we were there the person we got was very sloppy and unkempt. When my toddler finally needed a haircut, I couldn't imagine having her sit in a regular salon chair for very long. I also thought there might be a salon for kids out there. I found Sharkey's in Frisco - though they are an international chain. The salon is small but has lots of kid friendly toys and snacks, plus great salon chairs that are actually cars and jeeps. There is a "first haircut" package that comes with cute little gifts and they always have balloons. My child sat still, watching a movie, while the stylist worked. She told me they also do adult haircuts as well. They also host parties where they do hair and makeup for all party guests, including feathers, manicures, glitter, etc. I was pleased with the service and the pricing. read more

Destinee cut my sons hair and she did amazing! My son has Sensory Processing Disorder and he doesn't like to get haircuts. He usually screams and cries and getting him a haircut is usually a nightmare. Destinee did a great job keeping him calm and talking him through it. My family is in town for the Easter weekend and decided to get our son his first haircut. He's 15 months old and has a head of hair. We called and Whitney helped us out. She was extremely helpful in getting him an appointment and giving me directions. We arrive and everyone was very nice. Regina got "the shortest straw" and got Matthew. My wife and I were nervous but we had nothing to worry about because our son was an angel, until the very end. The demon came out and he let everyone know he was done and it was nap time. Through it all, Regina was amazing. She was calm, cool and collective. Thank you to Regina for her patience and talent and Whitney for her great customer service. This was our second visit to this location. We were pleased with the first visit experience. Upon our second appointment visit, we didn't have to wait long to be seen. The hair dresser was polite with my daughter. After getting her shampooed and seated in the styling chair, the hair stylist started combing and trimming her hair. About ten minutes into the appointment the stylist calls me to come over and shows me white flakes in her hair. The stylist tells me she has nits and can not continue with the haircut. I told the stylist she has a dry scalp and has been misdiagnosed before when it was dry scalp issue. The stylist is adamant they're nits and won't continue the service, so we leave with my daughter sad because she didn't get to complete her girl package. I take my daughter to Lice Center of America to have her head checked and they verified it was NOT nits or lice but a dry scalp. Any hair salon that has kids as their only customers should have the knowledge to know the difference between lice or flaky scalp. Very disappointed read more

We booked a BOYS haircut ahead of time and when we arrived they took my SON to the bright pink back room (while we pass the open police car chair) to sit him in a bright pink jeep. Of course my son refused to sit in "a girls car" and said he wanted to go back to the police car (which was still empty). The stylist said that he couldn't due to "social distancing" but then 2 minutes later another boy gets to sit in the police car chair!!!!! Had my daughters first hair cut. Only complaint is that it's a bit overwhelming and they didn't confirm the package I had booked so I think they organization was a bit off. They did end up doing the whole package with certificate and all but it could have been better managed. I was distracted trying to capture it and keep my girl happy. Overall she lives the experience but especially was obsessed with her nail polish and hair clip. I even had to style her hair with the same braids for a few days following. I'm not one to write reviews, but I don't want any parent to have to go through the same thing I did today. First I'll start with my son's haircut. It used to be 17 bucks and change. Now it's gone up to $19.95 which is supposed to include shampoo, cut, style, and a tattoo. When I went to pay for his haircut, I advised that my son had only gotten a dry cut. The water bottle was hardly used let alone a full shampoo and style. To which the receptionist replied, it's the same cost regardless. Now on to my daughter's haircut. My daughter has long beautiful curly hair- not overly kinky but can be prone to friz if not cared for appropriately. My daughter recently took it upon herself to cut a tiny piece near her face. I was hoping to blend in the piece along with cleaning up the layers. Layers?!! She now has a blunt straight line cut with 80's bangs. I specifically asked for no bangs. Stylist tried to comb over and claim it was layering. Then she busted out the diffuser. No style just friz. Then off to a 45-second manicure and no tattoo. Two stars for the tv and power wheels chairs. No stars for haircuts, averaging to one star rating. I took my daughter here for a hair cut and style. when we arrived I advised the stylist that my daughter was extremely tender headed and very nervous and to go slow. I was informed that if she went slow she would HAVE to charge extra. when I asked how much extra she said it depended on how long it took and she had no idea. She said she had another appointment coming in 15 minutes and would likely not be able to do the haircut, only wash and brush. I was furious. We use to go here because my son loved the chairs and free balloon. However, we no longer go her because the service as become atrocious. Our last few appointments, the girls at the desk are rude and do not seem to be interested in greeting their customers. They were interested in having their personal conversations for all to here. Also, supposedly walk-ins are welcome but when my husband tried to walk in with our a son of couple of times they said that we would have to make an appointment.
