Absolutely terrible experience with Sharks Fish & Chicken. The catfish I ordered was loaded with bones--so much so that it was nearly inedible. It felt like zero care was put into preparing the food properly. What made it even worse was the customer service. I called to let them know about the issue and asked for a simple exchange. Instead of taking responsibility, the man told me I'd have to pay "half price" for something else--but then quoted $9.99 on a $13.99 meal. That's not even close to half, which felt dishonest and like they were just trying to get more money out of me. I can't even give them 1 star but this review forced me to. I just left there from picking up a call in order $36.28 to he exact it was going to be $40. I asked to substitute fries in one order for onion rings and I was not told there would be a $2.99 up charge at the time my order was placed only at pick up. The employee tells me it's only $2.99 I said I don't have it so take the onion rings out and give me the fry's then. He continued talking and then said they are not in the business for charity. I said I beg your pardon!! I haven't asked you for Anything and do you think my $36.28 paid was charity. I said I was going to write a review he said he didn't care to do it. I will drive across town and support another Village before I ever go back there. I refuse to support my town and be treated like my money doesn't mean a thing. You won't ever get my money again. OMG I'm definitely considered a Seafood connoisseur and this meal here has definitely made me a believer that there are so many other places in this world that has great seafood. Since they moved over to their new location across the street their food has little taste, there is no option to have your lemon seasoning on the side and their prices are OUTRAGEOUS!!! The only reason I buy fried chicken wings is because I do not want my house smelling like chicken and grease but I will use my deep fryer outside before I spend another dime with them!!! read more

I usually order from this place once a week. The catfish is fresh and cooked just right. I call my order in and it is ready when I arrive. But, on Friday, 07-02-2021, I tried to phone my order in as usual. Don't know if the person answering the phones did not know how to operate them but he hung up on me 5 times!! The 6th time I called back he simply put the phone down while waiting on a customer. I told him he keeps hanging up and he apologized. So I placed my catfish order. When I arrived at Sharks I told the guy waiting on customers what I ordered. He said there is no such order. I asked him to check again - same answer. I told him the new guy answering the phones hung up on me 5 times and now you do not have my order??? He said they could drop my catfish now. So my family and I decided to try out this Sharks location since we were Christmas shopping in the area, I will say the place was cleaned no complaints there and the cashier was pleasant... now the food was ok-ish nothing to shout about. The Boneless bbq wings didn't have enough sauce on them and the fries were pretty soggy. However, the taffy grapes were delicious! I recommend giving those a try. read more

Ordered a 50 wing for a group of friends watching the game and was told that it would be ready in 20 minutes. I showed up 15 minutes later to pay assuming that it would be a few minutes until my order was ready and the cashier tells me that it's ready now. I immediately ask was this fresh chicken and he looks me in the eye and says "Everything here is fresh boss!" Everything in me told me to taste the chicken in the car but I waited until I got home only to realize that I was given old, crunchy, dry chicken. Would have given them 5 stars, but had to return for replacement meal. July 14, 2021 about 11am Bought 2 LG catfish and 1 jumbo shrimp. Shrimp was great but the fish meals were not. That evening I called and registered our complaint with the night manager. He apologized and said to bring food back the next day for replacement. July 15, 2021 Rick, the cook who prepared the food yesterday listened to our complaint and he apologized profusely. He offered new meals. We agreed and he remade. He explained and showed us each step in the cooking process. The new meals were the great quality we have grown to expect. Thank you Rick and Sharks' management team for your professional and positive yet conciliatory attitude. Sharks in Matteson is definitely our preferred location. read more

After some of the reviews, was afraid to go here honestly but overall, was pretty good. Could season the food a wee-bit more but was not unbearable. Everything was fresh to order and inside was very clean as far as I could see. I do believe the prices were high which is really where the star was lost. Comparable prices to sit-down restaurant and witnessed guy being charged I think $1.50 for extra sauce. Really? I'm sure he had already paid enough. read more

Okay, I went three for three with seafood. Usually, this location is the best out of the whole Chicagoland chain, but not this time. Most of the time I would recommend the Jumbo (fried) Shrimp dinner with fries and two slices of white bread and cover that dinner in the hot sauce they carry (cajun chef) and call it a day. Mind you the shrimp is usually so good, that and the hot sauce is all you need to have a good meal. The Hot sauce is so good I bought a gallon straight from the manufacturer! This time, the shrimp was so overcooked that it was dark brown, not golden brown, and not even my previous gallon of hot sauce could save it! read more

HORRIBLE customer service. Gave me the wrong price over the phone. When I came in to pick up my order, they Initially gave me the wrong order. Corrected the order then overcharged me. Gave me the difference in the price and it was still $5.00 more then they quoted over the phone and he then told me I was the one who misunderstood. I encountered an incident tonight as i parked to pick up an order from Sharks Chicken &Fish in Matteson.....I did park in front of the restaurant because i was expecting to go in and pick up my order as I was assured my order would be ready in 10 MINUTES..... I had no idea that it would take more than 20 minutes once I arrived!!!! So as I'm waiting.... someone notifies the customers of a police car behind my car writing me a ticket!!!! Ok.... so i proceed to my car but I noticed the squad car behind my car so i go and try to explain the situation..... that officer was not interested nor did he even try to listen..... he didn't even want me standing by him while he was writing my ticket for 150 dollars!!!!! I tell you I'm really not feeling sone of these cops especially Matteson police because this cop was very cold and chalice!!!! I'm not out here being malicious or scheming!!! I was just trying to pick up my food !!!! After waiting to receive the UNDESERVING TICKET ..... i go back into Sharks to await my order... I remind you this issue with the ticket took about 10 minutes!!!! Finally after another 5 minutes my order number was called... YES I did SNATCH my bag an in doing so ... the one giving the bag yells out " Don't ever snatch anything from me again"!!!! I ignored him and continued walking out to my car .... you must understand I'm furious because I now have to pay $150 for WHAT!!!! Advice to the cashier working on Thursday, 8/2 around 4pm with the red shorts, white t-shirt, round face, bubbled eyes, mohawk hair cut.......customer service will go a long way. I ordered a catfish dinner and once the order was ready, I requested a Cole slaw. He had the nerve to throw the Cole slaw in my bag and gave me the dirtiest look and left the bag sitting far back on the counter that I had to reach to get it; and just walked away. There was no thank you for your business, nothing. Just blatant rudeness. If he was upset I requested Cole slaw and it was not part of the order, he could have simply stated that and I would have graciously paid for it. I certainly wasn't trying to scam him out of Cole slaw. I was truly under the impression it came with the order because the last time I visited the establishment it was given to me. I didn't appreciate the rudeness and can assure you, that as long as I live in Matteson, this establishment will never get my money.
